The pre-season transfer period is on and is a sort of mixed feelings' time for the F.C. Barcelona fans as the club seems not to be too active right now as now as far as solid signings are concerned.

It is no longer news that two players that have been highly influential in the team's last season games - Paulinho and Andres Iniesta are no longer with the club. Paulinho as we know, has decided to go back to China to continue his sterling football career there for whatever reasons while the much respected and long-standing Andres Iniesta has decided to move on due to age reasons.

And so, the question that pops up here is what is the club doing to re-inforce itself? We are aware of two new signings for the coming season that have been completed. Those are that of Clement Lenglet and Arthur who were engaged in order to improve the situation at the defensive section of the team.

That in itself is quite an interesting matter because Barca has a Yerry Mina whose services were acquired not so long ago but has had very little playing time in the team since his arrival.

Meanwhile, this same Mina starred gloriously for his country Colombia in the just concluded 2018 FIFA

Well, Perišić is back in the news and in the focus line of the Manchester United's Manager Jose Mourinho after putting in a very superlative performance for Croatia in the just concluded 2018 World Cup Competition in Russia where he played right up to the very final minutes of the tournament and scored a brilliant goal in the final game against eventual winners, France.

It is a well known fact that Jose Mourinho has been and is still very much interested in acquiring Perisic’s services.

Even though I cannot stand for the JTF, I suspect that they want to clear up the place and do a verification exercise to settle the original inhabitants back to their ancestral homes. My own opinion, please. I am not a JTF spokesman. I don put on my helmet.

Relief might just be at the corner for many people who were displaced from their ancestral lands during the recent spate of crisis that engulfed parts of Plateau State.

This is because the Special Task Force (STF), charged with maintaining peace in Plateau, has just given inhabitants of some crisis-prone villages 48 hours to vacate those communities. 

A spokesman of the STF in person of Salisu Mustapha in a statement informed the press that a “military operation” is going on in the affected areas located in Barkin-Ladi and Riyom Local Governments.

He then went on to add; “The inhabitants of the affected areas are to vacate immediately with their property.”  Mahanga, Kakuruk, Maseh and Shong 2 are the villages concerned in this present development.

However some of the residents are complaining about the fact that the order was unfair and uncharitable for the STF to order them out of their ancestral villages without providing alternatives.

According to some of them; “We know no other home,” he said. “Where do they want us to go? Why must they treat us as if we are foreigners in our own country?" "We have nowhere to go to and so may just have to disobey the STF's order”, they further said.

Viva Les Bleus! You were surely the better team. Lucky you did not have to face the Super Eagles at this tournament.

Lightening struck twice in 20 years as France clinched the 2018 FIFA World Cup Competition in a thrilling 6 goals final match encounter against hard-fighting Croatia in Russia.

Yes, the last time they won this cup was in 1998 on home soil when they dazzled Brazil in the final match winning by three un-replied goals to the astonishment of not just the Brazilian players and people but also of the rest of the world, France inclusive. This time around the venue was different. So were the players too.

However, the French team came out runaway winners just like their predecessors did 20 years back. "Zizu" must be grinning from ear to ear right now. He was very instrumental in that win then. So was the present coach of the team too, Didier Deschamps.

This second triumph for France was done in a spectacular style as it ended the title dreams of a very brave Croatia  with a 4-2 victory in one of the most entertaining and action-packed finals for decades.

This was done courtesy of an own goal from Mario Mandzukic, an Antoine Griezmann penalty -- awarded after a VAR review - and second-half strikes by Paul Pogba and teenager Kylian Mbappe. Croatia's goals came through Ivan Perisic and the unlucky Mario Mandzukic.

For me, it is LES bLEUS[i][/i] all the way. The France National Team is simply too complete and dominating for a Croatia that in recent games became inconsistent.

Croatia or France? Who takes the glory and the World Cup at the end of 90 (and probably 120) minutes of pulsating and captivating football today 15th July, 2018 at Moscow's Luzhniki Stadium?

Oh yes the much awaited-day has finally arrived - the day the 2018 World Cup Competition in Russia finally winds up and either Croatia or France will go home smiling with the World Cup (possibly the most expensive cup) as part of their "hand luggage".

The fact remains that whoever triumphs in today's final match thoroughly deserves to be the World's Soccer Champions. They have really come a long way watching as the pre-tournament favourites all fell by the wayside one after the other.

Let us take a look at some facts that makes today's match unique in its setting;

Didier Deschamps is faced with the opportunity of becoming only the third man - after Mario Zagallo and Franz Beckenbauer - to win the FIFA World Cup as a player and coach if he can replicate as a coach what he achieved 20 years back as a player when France won the cup at the expense of a completely over-whelmed Brazilian National Team.

On their way to becoming the World Champions in that same year (1998), the French defeated Croatia in the semi-finals and that is not lost on the opposing team today as they seek to avenge that painful loss. Despite losing out in the final match of the 2018 Wimbledon Tennis Grand Slam Competition, against Angelique Kerber, Tennis Diva Serena Williams has described her performance at the competition as a ” a great encouragement”.

Of course for a woman who gave birth only a few months back, getting to the finals of a great competition like the Wimbledon Grand Slam is no child’s play and is surely worth emulation.

Serena Williams was surely not at her best in the game as she lost out in a 3-6, 3-6 defeat but declared that she was encouraged to be in the finals of such a competition just a few months after the birth of her daughter Alexis Olympia in September.

Here is how she described the whole experience in her own words;

“These two weeks were so mental for me,” she said. “I won matches. I was really mentally fighting for literally every match. I did the best that I could in every match that I played. I feel like I am taking the steps in the right direction. I took a giant step at Wimbledon.

“This is literally just the beginning. My journey has just begun, but I think these two weeks have really showed me that I can compete – and that I can come out and be a contender to win grand slams.”

Daughter Olympia and Daddy Alexis were as expected on hand to root for Mummy Serena.

So what next now?
Serena Williams promised to put up a much better performance next month at the US Open. In her own words;

“I am already deciphering what I need to improve on, what I need to do, what I did wrong, why I did it wrong, how I can do better – that whole madness that goes on in my mind. Then I’m saying, OK, I do improve with losses. We’ll see how it goes.”

Is this a wise move for Chelsea?

Chelsea made their first summer signing as far as players are concerned when it successfully acquired the services of Italy international Jorginho from Napoli in a deal worth about £57m thereby beating Manchester City to the signature of the midfielder.
The Brazilian-born 26-year-old Jorginho made 36 appearances for F.C. Napoli who finished second in Serie A last term. He scored four goals for Napoli last season in the Seria A.

Jorginho was also involved in Napoli's 4-2 defeat to Man City last November and also played against England in a 1-1 friendly draw in March.

Pep Guardiola had penciled down Jorginho, who was born in Brazil, as his top target for the holding midfield role on the expiration of Yaya Toure's contract, but Chelsea beat City to the player's signature in a dramatic move.

Man City was understood to have agreed a £44m deal a fortnight ago for the player but apparently withdrew interest when the price rose. This paved the way for Chelsea to come into the picture strongly and offer a higher fee that Napoli accepted without wasting time.

Napoli apparently told the player's agent that he had to accept Chelsea's term or face being frozen out.

Man City are also said to be seriously fuming at the handling of the situation by the player's agent Joao Santos and Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

This is what the player had to say to the press on what he thinks about this transfer;

"I am absolutely ecstatic to be here at Chelsea," said Jorginho, who has penned a five-year deal at Stamford Bridge under new coach Maurizio Sarri, who managed the player in Italy.

"It is not easy to become part of such a big team so I am very, very happy. I am excited to play in such an intense league for a team that gives everything to play and win."

A 30-year-old child abuse suspect, Mohammed Abubakar,  has admitted to luring a nine-year-old primary four pupil to having sex with him using a N10 lollipop bait because his wife just gave birth.

The suspect, a commercial motorcyclist, who resides in Tudun Fulani in Bosso Local
Government Area of Niger State, disclosed this while being interrogated by the Niger
State Child Right Protection Agency.

In his confessional statement, Abubakar said: “I saw her outside her school where I had parked my motorcycle to buy sweet and she told me to give her sweet. “I gave her a sweet and then lured her to an uncompleted building and had sex with her.

“I am a married man. My wife and I have a three-month-old baby; I have not been sleeping with my wife because she just gave birth recently and that tempted me into doing the act with
the girl.
“I only had sex with the girl once; I am sorry.”

On interrogation, the school pupil narrated her own side of the story this way;

“He usually lures me to an uncompleted building close to the school during break time. He will touch my buttocks and put his finger inside my private part.
“He also gives me sweet and promised to give me N6,000 if I did not tell anyone about what he did to me.”

The victim’s teacher, Hajiya Saratu Salihu, who helped expose the criminal act by reporting the matter to the agency, explained that she started suspecting the victim, following her frequent absence from class. According to her, the victim always disappears from the school during the break periods and will not return to school.

The Mother of a 15-year-old SS2 Student who raped a 3-year-old child, has been exposed by a Nigerian doctor who recounted her statement over the incident.
According to the Nigerian doctor @deekachy_md, disclosed that the mother of the SS2 student defended him by saying ‘he is just a child and doesn’t know what he is doing’.

The last time I received a slap that sound, I was in SS2. It was mum. This time my Slapper was 3. She was my patient.

As rumours of the next move of F.C. Chelsea and Belgium’s National Soccer Team’s Star Eden Hazard continues to make the news everywhere especially since the departure of Cristian Ronaldo from Real Madrid to Juventus F.C., our reporter was in Catalonia to ask the Barcelona technical secretary Eric Abidal about the possibility of the Belgian joining F.C. Barcelona as is being touted in some quarters.

In response, the Barca Technical Secretary simply decided to refuse ruling out a summer move for Eden Hazard. As it is currently in the rumour mills, both the F.C. Barcelona and Real Madrid are gunning for the signature of the soccer wizard who is still in Russia preparing for tomorrow’s game between his country and the English Natonal Soccer Team for the third place position in the on-going 2018 FIFA World Cup Competition holding in Russia.

Meanwhile, his present employers have also not given up hope of keeping their star as they are reportedly confident that their new Manager’s (they have just replaced former Manager Antonio Conte with former Napoli Gaffer, Maurizio Sarri) commitment to attacking football could be enough to persuade Hazard to commit the peak years of his career to the club he joined six years ago.

The former F.C. Chelsea Captain, John Terry, paid tributes to the immediate past coach of the team, Antonio Conte after the Italian was relieved of his managerial duties by the club on Thursday.

After weeks of speculation, the Management of the London club finally decided to sack Conte, thereby opening the way for a replacement with rumours having it that the former Napoli boss Maurizio Sarri is set to succeed him.

Despite the fact that Antonio Conte won the Premier League title in his very first season with the team, he had to be let go as a result of his regular off-the-field power struggle over the club’s transfer policy.

That had put his job on the line for quite sometime before the Chelsea Management finally decided to send him packing.


The situation had further been worsened by the fact that the team was unable to defend its title, finishing fifth in the table and missing out on Champions League. Chelsea F.C. was however able to defeat the Manchester United in the final of the FA Cup in a match that proved to be Antonio Conte’s final match as Manager of the team.

The 2016/2017 season in which Chelsea won the Premiership under Antonio Conte was John Terry’s final campaign at the club, and the former Blues captain has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to his old boss.

Nemesis caught up with a police officer attached to the Faskari divisional office in Katsina State of Nigeria as he had his manhood cut off allegedly by a 13-year-old boy (names withheld) whom he attempted to sodomise.

A source in the area, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the Inspector was fond of committing the act with boys in the area, alleging that the last victim used a
knife to cut the officer’s manhood.

The police officer, identified as Inspector Lawal Mohammed, was said to have been left in a pool of his own blood before an unknown bike man took him to a nearby health facility. Sources said the incident happened about 9.30pm on Monday around Tudun Markabu area of the town.

According to the source, some boys, (probably previous victims of the Inspector’s sexual preferences), set him up in vengeance. The policeman was transferred from
Sabuwar Local Government Area to Kankara, before his posting to Faskari, where the incident occurred on Tuesday night.

Confirming the story, Katsina State Police Command’s spokesperson, Gambo Isah,
said:

“We received the news with dismay. We are not expecting our men to be involved in this kind of act.
“He is in the General Hospital at Faskari and has been referred to the General Hospital, Katsina, but is still in Faskari.
“The Command is investigating the matter. Immediately he recovers, we will investigate the matter and get all the witnesses. If found wanting, he will face necessary disciplinary action and charged to court.”

Cristiano Ronaldo has officially left Real Madrid to join Juventus, in a deal worth 117 million euros (100 million to Real Madrid, five million to former clubs Sporting Lisbon and Manchester United and 12 million in commissions and other fees).

He is joining Juventus on a four year contract, with a 30 million euro annual salary, after tax.

Bieber officially announced his plans to marry model Hailey Baldwin, 21, with a loving tribute to her on his Instagram Monday.
