The article was talking about not calling Nigeria in his FIRST calls to Africa, which to me isn't a big deal because we are no longer the influential country we used to be. That said you should understand that for a fact Nigeria is no longer the number one in the continent, when you do somethings like this won't be a news to you.

You should learn about diplomacy and international relations. The call is simply a diplomatic call. Biden isn't going to call to greet Buhari and chat rubbish, like you will call your guy. The two leaders are actually going to discuss diplomatic ties, discuss real issues both countries are facing and what the world is facing. We need to understand that Nigeria is no longer the first and no longer as important globally when it comes to Africa affairs anymore. When we do, we will not see this as a news. The only reason this is a news is because we think we should be the first to get the call in Africa based on our status but we must realise that it's all in the past now. Others have moved ahead.

I only mentioned the visa because I wanted to be sure how having an immigrant visa affects getting a US non immigrant visa. I didn't think the name of the country was relevant to the topic, plus I had gone through the thread and I didn't see where people referenced holding a valid visa to another country on the thread.

No, having an immigrant visa for another country wouldn't influence VO decision (my opinion) especially since you are applying from your home country. However, it is important to prepare strong response as to why you want the master's in the US and not in a country in North America (I assume the country you hold its immigrant visa is in North America) where you can comfortably study. Plan to explain what you have been doing there, plan after graduation. Will you be returning to Nigeria or that country? If the former, to do what? Preparation is key. Let's also hope you're able to convince the VO you meets.

Reminds me of what my Pastor, Dr. Ebuka, told me some months ago. He told me that the Fulanis are the most hated in the Southern part of Nigeria, no thanks to envy. That whenever he reads of their persecution, the Biblical story of Joseph and his envious half brothers come to (his) mind.

According to him, Joseph (representing the Fulanis/Hausas/North), was loved so much by his father (Britain).. So much that his father, Israel(Britain), dressed him with a long coat of many colors (handing power to the North).. This act made his half brothers hate him..

As if that wasn't enough, the hatred worsened when Joseph revealed to them a dream that the Sun, Moon and 11 stars bowed down to him, implying that he was born to rule... It was this "born to rule" mentality that aggravated everything! Same mentality the Fulanis have.

But I wonder why my Christian brothers who see Joseph as the Hero are hating on the Fulanis when it's obvious that both stories are similar... Hypocrisy, right?
