More pics.

Note, I'm not saying all Muslims are like these. Salman Taseer, a Pakistani governor who spoke out against Aasia Bibi's incarceration and the blasphemy law only to be assassinated in 2011, was Muslim. I'm a Muslim, yet I oppose blasphemy law.

I'm falsifying the myth that only tiny minority of Muslims are fanatics. These men protesting are not ISIS or Boko Haram. These are commoners, who work 9-5 by day, eat and sleep by night

Perhaps a more fitting post for front page would have been on the Pakistani Aasia Bibi in prison and on death row since 2009 for alleged blasphemy. Not a single prominent Muslim, scholar or imam has called out Pakistani authorities for the plight of this poor woman.

This Aasia Bibi's case brings out the worst in the Muslim community, utterly refuting the idea that only a tiny minority of Muslims are extremists.

Here are a few pictures to ponder on, for those who think only a tiny minorities of Muslims are extremists.

IslamRe: Justice: Insulting Prophet Muhammad Can Lead You In Jail by usermane(m):
There is really no good reason to put this thread on front page, except apparently for either shock value or to taunt naysayers of Muhammad. Hell, what is insulting Muhammad? To say that "Muhammad sleeping with a 9 years old kid is child abuse or molestation?" People should either express positive opinion on Muhammad or be quiet?

You can't just expect people to overlook report of child abuse by a Prophet because it was the custom of the 7th century, just as we can't overlook slavery by the slave masters because it was the norm in the 17th century.

You want people to respect your prophet? Start to admit your traditions are corrupted, sex with a 9 years old in any era is child abuse and Muhammad couldn't have done it if he were the Prophet of God. Child molestation is child molestation, whether it is voiced out or not.
IslamRe: Muslim: Monotheist Vs Anti-monotheist by usermane(op):
Sunan Ibn Majah >> The Chapter on Etiquette
Narrated Ibn Abbas that the prophet said; "In some poetry, there is wisdom."
There is thus proof that the hikma/wisdom granted to the prophet is wisdom granted to any other man, not the capacity to stipulate religious laws, make religious recommendations and foretell future events not revealed in Qur'an.
IslamRe: Muslim: Monotheist Vs Anti-monotheist by usermane(op):
Hadith supports this position as well;

Sunan Ibn Majah >> The Book of the Sunnah
It was narrated that Ibn Abbas said:
"The messenger of God embraced me and said: 'Oh God, teach him the wisdom and interpretation of the Book.'"
The Ahadith are exclusively from Muhammad. For Hikma/Wisdom to be hadith, it has to be exclusively bestowed on prophet, not by just anyone. But this is not the case, in fact according to hadith, even poetry, works of poets contain hikma/wisdom.
IslamRe: Muslim: Monotheist Vs Anti-monotheist by usermane(op): 4:29pm On Oct 31, 2018
Are Hadith Divine Wisdom(Hikma) granted to Muhammad?

No. The only unique grant to Muhammad is the Book. Wisdom or Hikma is bestowed upon any man, prophet or not prophet. Here is Qur'anic evidence;

Qur'an 2:269 He grants wisdom to whom He chooses, and whoever is granted wisdom, has been given much good. Only those with intelligence will take heed.

Reading Qur'an 9:12 in context, blasphemy was only punishable for the polytheists in Muhammad's days who violated their treaty and harmed or killed Muslims. Once Muhammad conquered Mecca, these polytheists were to pay with their life, but God instructed Muslims to pardon the criminals if they embraced Islam.

If after embracing Islam, these criminals still defame Islam, it proves they never sincerely repented & embraced Islam. Thus, Muslims are permitted to fight them. The permit to fight here is against the treacherous polytheist in those days, not non-Muslims/Muslims in every generation and era that blaspheme.

But what about Qur'an 9:12
If they break their oaths after their pledge, and they defame your religion; then you may kill the chiefs of rejection. Their oaths are nothing to them, perhaps they will then cease.

Qur'an 4:140
It has been sent down to you in the book, that when you hear God's signs being rejected and ridiculed in, then do not sit with them until they move on to a different subject; if not, then you are like them. God will gather the hypocrites and the ingrates in hell all together.
Another verse, blasphemers here again, no penalty legislated. Muslims are required to just avoid the company of blasphemers. This is the limit concerning blasphemy; God will decide the fate of the blasphemers, leave their presence while they blaspheme, return once they stop. No more, no less.

Qur'an 9:65-66
If you ask them they say, "We were only jesting and playing." Say, "Is it God and His signs and His messenger you were mocking?" Do not apologize, for you have rejected after your acknowledgement. Even if We pardon one group from you, We will punish another group, because they were criminals.
No penalty decreed here. God's conclusion as underlined indicate that the fate of the blasphemers lie with Him, He will apparently decide whom among them to pardon and whom to punish. This leaves no responsibility of their fate to Muslims.

Freedom of Speech - Freedom to Blaspheme

A collection of verses on people ridiculing Islam will be dealt with here. Qur'an does disapproves blasphemy, but harmonious with freedom of speech, it stops short of stipulating earthly penalty to be meted out on blasphemers.

Wary of slanders & blackmail from Muslims like Em, very few Muslims in favor of UHRFE dare to speak up even if they live in free societies like US, Nigeria or UK. In this forum alone, except my own threads, you'll find no other thread that espouse an interpretation of Islam harmonious with UHRFE.

I... had to develop thick skin to retain my sanity when dealing with fanatic Muslims, Muslims that would have murdered me under sharia governance for my writings, Muslims that share the same ideology with ISIS but only differ from ISIS on military tactics or fealty to Abu Bakr al Baghdadi.

To add more fire to the emotional blackmail, Em concludes with; "It is shameful of you".

How tactless, how sad. How much more hideous and obnoxious can a man get? And in his subsequent posts after I lashed out at him, he regresses into intimidation by gloating and taunting, and further emotional blackmail.

This is emotional blackmail. He tries to guilt trip me with slander of hindering Islam, simply because I affirm no Muslim should be forced by Muslim authorities to do salat. Emotional blackmail is wicked tool employed by abusive people, sociopath and narcissist to subjugate their victims' minds into giving in.

I have never hindered anyone from Islam, salat. Never. But at least 4 days monthly, 48 days yearly and 40 days post natal, Em and his co-traditional Muslims literally ban women post puberty from salat. Yet, some Muslim maniac have the audacity to cast aspersion on my motive?

I point out to Em that many Muslims oppose imposing "Islam" and they respect individual Muslim right & freedom to comply or not comply. Here is Em's reply:

You're just trying hard to take Islam away from people. But guess what? It won't work. Many westerners are coming to Islam. They're gonna be disappointed if they see you speak like this. It is shameful of you.

My Ordeal as a Muslim anti-sharia & Pro-UHRFE

For instance, some few weeks ago, I dialogued on this forum with a Muslim, Em. I expressed my disapproval of governments like Saudi Arabia imposing "Islam" on the people; like banning business during salat or enforcing headscarf on women.

I believe we as Muslims have no right to force anyone to wear a headscarf or dismiss their activity for salat, or avoid public eating in days of Ramadan. We may enjoin people to what we believe are Islamic doctrines, but we must never coerce them or penalize them if they refuse.

Backlash Against Muslims that are pro-Universal Human rights(UHRFE)

For Muslims in Muslim majority countries, speaking for UHRFE can be suicidal. Many have been imprisoned(Raif Badawi), executed(Muhammad Taha) or assassinated(Farag Foda) for condemning sharia and indirectly demanding UHRFE.

As for the west, any Muslim is free to speak against sharia & for UHRFE, but it is daunting as such speakers often face death threats. Aside death threats, intimidation, emotional blackmail, slander are among the backlash from the fanatics of the Muslim community against Muslims pro-UHRFE & anti-sharia.

Here we learn two things; First, aside the Qur'anic verses, Muhammad received no other revelation from God. This renders ahadith completely illegitimate.

Secondly, the understanding of the Qur'an does not necessarily come from Muhammad, but is granted to the reader by God. With or without hadith of Muhammad, Qur'an is comprehensible. This renders ahadith irrelevant for Qur'anic study.
IslamRe: Muslim: Monotheist Vs Anti-monotheist by usermane(op): 10:23am On Oct 25, 2018
Abu Juhaifah (RAA) narrated, ‘I asked 'Ali:‘Do you have any other Divine Revelation besides what is in the Qur’an? ’Ali said, ‘No. We have nothing besides the Qur’an except the gift of understanding the Qur’an, which Allah gives a man, besides what is written in this manuscript;

I said, ‘What is in this manuscript?’ ‘Ali said, ‘The regulations of Diyah (Blood money), the ransom for captives and the ruling that no Muslim should be killed in Qisas for killing a disbeliever.’ Related by Al-Bukhari.

Are Hadith Divine Revelations From God?

No, as specified by Qur'an 45:6, divine revelations are collectively known as the Qur'an. If it is not in the Qur'an, it is not divine revelation to Muhammad. Even complementing the Qur'anic verses on this are hadith like this; Bulugh al-Maram » Book of Crimes/Retaliation. Hadith 1204:

So, notable Muslim figures, scholars or Imams rarely assert gay rights or rights of religious minorities like Christians, Baha'is and Jews residing in the Muslim world as second class citizens. And except for the ban on female motorists, these figures rarely criticize the Islamist regimes like Saudi Arabia.

Muslims who understand and reject sharia for UHRFE exist, but for fear of backlash from the Muslim community or persecution by the Muslim authorities, most of them opt not to speak out. The few that do speak out have only little following from the community and often have to deal with undesirable consequences.
IslamRe: Qur'an: Human Rights, Freedom & Equity by usermane(op): 1:25pm On Oct 21, 2018
Why Notable Muslim Voices Rarely Affirm Universal Human Rights

Simply because, full orthodox sharia is in violation of Universal Human Rights, Freedom & Equity(UHRFE). Be it stoning adulterers, amputating thieves, estimating women's testimony to be worth half of men's, prohibition of a Muslim from inheriting from non-Muslim and vice versa, etc.

As sharia largely contradicts UHRFE, for a conservative orthodox Muslim to affirm UHRFE will be ignorance or deceit. Hence, the Organization of Islamic countries(OIC) unveiled the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam(CDHRI) several decades after the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights(UDHR) in the 20th century. Of course, the CDHRI is basically inadequate and repeals many of the rights in UDHR.

Also, recall the Qur'an recommending Muslims to be steadfast in salat, but in compliance with hadith, Muslim women abstain from salat several days monthly during their menstrual bleeding.

These compliance with hadith instructions unconfirmed by the Qur'an violate the Qur'an and confers Muhammad the status of legislator in Islam. This is tantamount to treating Muhammad as partner with God. Anti-Monotheism.
IslamRe: Muslim: Monotheist Vs Anti-monotheist by usermane(op):
Qur'an hereby declares itself as the revelation of God recited to the messenger, then proceeds with a rhetorical question that dismisses any other Hadith/speech or text as unworthy of a monotheist's belief.

Unfortunately, these clear verse fell on deaf ears and many Muslims continue to believe in other hadith and texts after believing the Qur'an. And thus, we have Muslims recite silently or excessively loud with speakers in their salat, despite Qur'anic instructions to recite just audibly.

Obedience to God Alone - Obedience to Qur'an Alone

The Lord's medium of instructing man are the Word of God; the Qur'an in Islam. The Qur'an is the revelation from God, and it is the only revelation from God to Muhammad. This nullifies other secondary text or speech, e.g Hadith, espoused as additional revelation from God. For instance;

Qur'an 45:6 These are the revelations of Allah which We recite to you in truth. Then in what Hadith after Allah and His verses will they believe?

My intent is to present an interpretation of Qur'an in harmony with UHRFE. Hence, I reject the "official" interpretation of the mullahs adopted from ancient jurists like Ibn Hanbal and exegetes like Ibn Kathir, heavily influenced by hadith.

There is no official interpretation of Qur'an and no one group of persons have the monopoly over interpreting Qur'an. For those bored of the mainstream interpretation opposed to UHRFE, this thread may be worth following.

Warning:

I'm an heterodox Muslim, Qur'an I accept, Hadith and Ijma I reject for my doctrines. Thus, my views on Universal Human Rights, Freedom and Equity(UHRFE) do not conform with mainstream orthodox Islamic view.

My intent here is not necessary to portray Qur'an as a book for UHRFE, for the Qur'an is a text, open to reader's interpretation. And depending on the reader, Qur'an may be proponent or opponent of UHRFE. Individuals' interpretation of Qur'an is influenced by their mindset and pre-conceived notions prior studying Qur'an.

Qur'an: 18:26

Say, "God is most knowing of how long they remained. He has [knowledge of] the unseen [aspects] of the heavens and the earth. How Seeing is He and how Hearing! They have not besides Him any protector, and He shares not His legislation(huk'minhi) with anyone."
God, thus does not share his power to legislate or decree in Islam with even his messengers. The only role of the messenger(s) is delivering the scripture/Qur'an(Qur'an 5:99), no authority to decree or legislate is accorded to them.
IslamRe: Muslim: Monotheist Vs Anti-monotheist by usermane(op):
Because the pre-Islamic Arabs believed in God and claimed to obey Him, "Obey God" won't suffice to turn them to the Qur'an. They'll just scoff, "Ha? We already obey Him". But the addition of "Obey the messenger specifies to them that obedience to God comes through Obeying the messenger.

Thus, "Obey the messenger" is no indication that the messenger can decree in Islam just as God can. Only God decrees in Islam, & as showned in the below verse, God never share His power to legislate, command or decree in Islam with even His messengers.

Obey God & Obey the messenger

As obeying any other being other than God implies associating partners with God, even the messenger of cannot be obeyed, unless he is re-stating what God has stated in the scriptures; Qur'an, Injeel, Torah.

Unfortunately, some Muslims are duped into violating monotheism by flawed interpretation of the Qur'anic phrase; "Obey God and obey the messenger". 'Obey the messenger' mean Obey God. But how? In that case, isn't the preceding phrase, "Obey God" enough? Why repetition?
