Empyree's history of antisocial behavior

Before I delve into Empyree's ignorance and misinformation on this thread, I'd like to delve in his psyche.

Empyree is a lot like najib - Ignorant and ill tempered. Unlike najib, he is not new on this board, he's learned to check his temper over the years. But he still has his moments, which, trust me, I have found myself at the receiving end at times.

How Circumcision detract from Scientific growth

Whether it is the penis or vulva, circumcision is potentially dangerous. It can cause permanent injuries to nerves, decreasing sensitivity. There is the risk of infection, especially in the days before antiseptics. And all kinds of psychological traumas may follow, if done at an older age.

Male circumcision may have served hygiene purposes in the past, but not anymore. Proper hygiene is easy nowadays even with a foreskin. And female circumcision basically have no purpose, except of course to tame female libido supposedly to prevent promiscuity among women and protect their honor.

9. Circumcision mandatory or recommended

Sunan an-Nasa'i » The Book of Adornment:

"Five things are of the Fitrah: Clipping the nails, trimming the mustache, plucking the armpit hairs, shaving the pubes, and circumcision."

Musnad Ibn Hanbal 5:75:

Abu al- Malih ibn `Usama's father relates that the Prophet said: "Circumcision is a law for men and a preservation of honour for women."

6. Allah descends to the lower heavens every

“Our Lord, the Blessed and Exalted, descends when one third of the night remains, every night and He says: ‘Who will ask of Me, that I may give him? Who will call upon Me, that I may answer him? Who will ask My forgiveness, that I may forgive him?’ until dawn comes.”

This is not rationally verified. At every point in time, a point on the earth is in the latter part of the night. Going by this hadith, this would mean Allah is constantly moving across the globe at the lower heaven 24/7/365! But if this is what Allah mean then why tell us that He descends to the lower heaven?

You can see this hadith makes no sense on a round rotating earth. It would make sense if the earth were flat, and everywhere on earth experience the third part of the night simulatenously. It is clear that most of the early Muslims thought the earth flat.

Linguistically, the reformists translation is tenable. But the only reason they've rejected the traditional translation is because they live in 21st century, the age of human right and gender equality. We live in the society that frown upon couples hitting each other. So, when we see a verse ordering us to hit our wives, we immediately consider an alternative interpretation.

But what if we lived in the 10th century, where men striking their wives is just as norm as parents spanking their kids today? We'd not bother re-interpreting this phrase for a less physical application. The Qur'an tells us it is very clear. If the Qur'an meant "separate from or report" such misbehaving wives, why express it in words that can also mean "strike"?
Islam for Muslims / Re: Philosophical Questions: Where Did Theism Get It Wrong? by usermane(m): 3:47pm On Jun 12, 2019
5. Wife Striking - Qur'an 4:34

As for those women whom you fear unfaithfulness; admonish them, and separate from their beds, and strike them(wadhribuhoona). (Qur'an 4:34)

Obviously, striking a misbehaving wife is not a good measure for a husband. Striking could further provoke the wife, which could in turn result in more dire consequence like a full blown fist fight between the couple. And such a fight could yield all degrees of injuries and even death.

Therefore, the truthfulness in this verse is unverified. To account for this, some Muslims, particularly the reformists have proposed alternate translation of "wadhribuhoona"(strike them) - separate from them OR Report/Cite them. I've supported either reformist positions in the past. But I look at things differently nowadays.
Islam for Muslims / Re: Islam's Position On Homosexuality by usermane(m): 3:15pm On Jun 12, 2019
Salaam.

It seem this post might've been inspired by my recent post on effeminate men and emasculate women - 8. Curse & Put out Effeminate men and Emasculate women from your houses, where I explained that the behavior of such men and women may in fact be inborn and it'll be wrong to curse them and kick them out.

4. It should be noted that Islam, in its final form, did not introduce anti-gay legislature to the world. The texts of the Torah are replete with clear condemnations of such practices.

We can't take the words of the scriptures as absolute guide. The scriptures are filled with plenty of questionable information. The Qur'an, New Testament and Old Testament all contain ideas that we've quietly rejected.

5.The consequence of AIDS is enough to prove that homosexuality is evil and dangerous to society. The early spread of AIDS was concentrated among the homosexual community. It later spread to the heterosexual and the so-called bisexual community through blood transfusions and intravenous drug usage. Its spread continues on a rampage among promiscuous heterosexuals.

Homosexuals do not necessarily engage in anal sex. And not all homosexuals are promiscuous & indulge in anal sex with multiple partners.

6. Islam considers homosexuality to be the result of a choice. It is inconceivable that God made people homosexuals then declared it a crime and prescribed punishments for it in both this life and the next. To accept such a proposition is to accept that God is unjust. Inclinations can exist within humans for a variety of natural and unnatural acts, from fornication to rape and from necrophilia to bestiality. These inclinations may come from jinn-suggestions, media influence, or even from human whisperings or direct contact. Sodomy was common among the people of Prophet Loot (Lot), may Allah exalt his mention, who lived in Sodom, Palestine; after they had rejected his advice to give up this evil practice, Allah Almighty crushed and then annihilated their city.

How then do you explain intersex? Like persons that are genetically males but phenotypically females? There are all kinds of inborn anomalies in sexual orientations in human species, you cannot absolutely overrule the probability that homosexuality is one of these inborn anomalies.

Intersex Explained:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5vDVUPjBJiM

The Quran describes that punishment in the verse which means: "So when Our commandment came, We made the highest part [of the city] its lowest and rained upon them stones of hard clay in succession." [Quran: 11:82]
Human beings are not like robots who only do what they are programmed to. Humans choose and God holds them responsible for their choices. Were homosexuality a product of genetic destiny, it would be unfair for God to criminalise it and punish those who practice it. Currently, some scientists are even claiming that murder is of genetic origin. To accept that would mean to excuse murderers and tolerate murder.

That's the thing. Do you believe that the human fetus is ever a blood clot(Qur'an 23:14)? Do you believe that human sexual fluid or gamete comes from between the lower back and the ribs(Qur'an86:6-7)? The Qur'an apparently teaches all these, you don't enforce such teachings, so why enforce the teachings criminalizing homosexuality?

7.Islam instructs parents to separate their children in their beds by the age of ten in order to avoid sexual experiences which may result from childhood experimentation. Such experiences may be reinforced by contacts in schools and through abuse from adults. Also, the distinctions between male and female are strongly made in Islamic teachings.

Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) (may Allah exalt his mention) cursed men who imitate women and women who imitate men. Abu Hurayrah, may Allah be pleased with him, said: "The Messenger of Allah sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allah exalt his mention ) cursed the man who wears women’s clothes and the woman who wears men’s clothes." [Abu Dawood & Ibn Maajah]

The prophet also told us in hadith that senna is a cure for all diseases and that alcohol is not a medicine. Do enjoin such teachings?

The Unspoken Truth of the 'Righteous Caliphs'

There is nothing adorable about the first 4 Muslim caliphs. They led offensive wars, they enslaved and were power greedy. If you seek the other side of the story on these caliphs, please read Dr. Ahmed Subhy Mansur's extensive research publication on them;

Since when that Jew named Abdullah ibn Sabah became a Muslim in order to cause problems amongst the Muslims. He started to spread lies about Usman R.A in Medina, he failed. Then he went to greater Syria, were there wasn't a great presence of the companions of the messenger of Allah S.A.W, he succeeded in this until he was able to cause the death of Usman R.A.

Of course, if the Muslims fell into civil war because of the lies of one Jew, then their community must've been spineless to begin with.

Uthman's nepotism and corruption cost him his life

I have no hadith on Uthman, but every one knows he was hated in his days, which led to revolts against reign and his eventual murder. Uthman's opponents condemned him particularly for embezzlement and nepotism, favoring his clan for the top ruling position.

But Sunnite scholars fabricated stories whitewashing Uthman. It is one of those stories that najib tells tru2god here;

Ali, burnt humans alive

That 'Ali burnt some people who apostasized from Islam. This news reached Ibn 'Abbas, so he said: "If it were me I would have killed them according to the statement of Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Whoever changes his religion then kill him.' And I would not have burned them because the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Do not punish with the punishment of Allah.' So this reached 'Ali, and he said: "Ibn 'Abbas has told the truth."

Umar, fought with his wife in presence of his guest

"I was a guest (at the home) of 'Umar one night, and in the middle of the night he went and hit his wife, and I separated them. When he went to bed he said to me: 'O Ash'ath, learn from me something that I heard from the Messenger of Allah" A man should not be asked why he beats his wife, and do not go to sleep until you have prayed the Witr."' And I forgot the third thing."

Umar, bullies a man for reciting the Qur'an differently

I heard Hisham bin Hakim bin Hizam reciting Surat-al-Furqan in a way different to that of mine. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) had taught it to me (in a different way). So, I was about to quarrel with him (during the prayer) but I waited till he finished, then I tied his garment round his neck and seized him by it and brought him to Allah's Messenger

Abu Bakr deprived an orphan, the prophet's daughter of her inheritance

Fatimah daughter of Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) sent a messenger to Abu Bakr demanding from him in inheritance of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) from what Allah bestowed on him at Medina and Fadak, and what remained of the fifth of Khaibar. Abu Bakr said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) has said: We are not inherited. Whatever we leave is sadaqah. The family of Muhammad will eat from this property. I swear by Allah I shall not change it from the former condition of its being sadaqah as it was in the time of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). I shall deal with it as the Messenger of Allah dealt with it. Abu Bakr, therefore, refused to give anything to Fatimah from it.

Abu Bakr's arrogance & sense of entitlement to the seat of caliph

Narrated Abu Dhar:

The Prophet (ﷺ) asked me at sunset, "Do you know where the sun goes (at the time of sunset)?" I replied, "Allah and His Apostle know better." He said, "It goes (i.e. travels) till it prostrates Itself underneath the Throne and takes the permission to rise again, and it is permitted and then (a time will come when) it will be about to prostrate itself but its prostration will not be accepted, and it will ask permission to go on its course but it will not be permitted, but it will be ordered to return whence it has come and so it will rise in the west. And that is the interpretation of the Statement of Allah: "And the sun Runs its fixed course For a term (decreed). that is The Decree of (Allah) The Exalted in Might, The All- Knowing." (36.38)

But the above narration is still not talking about the earth's movement, rather it talks about that of the Sun. Also, it is established in the Qur'an that everything in the heavens and the earth prostrates, but we humans have no clue HOW this is being done, hence, it is a matter beyond the comprehension of man.

Sure, it is not revealed how the sun prostrate, but it is revealed it goes somewhere. Now, that somewhere has to be outside our physical realm. But the sun is always in the physical realm.

Now, the narration talks about how the Sun will not be able to 'prostrate' (I'm I wrong to imagine you understand this to mean sunset?), and it would seek permission to go on its course which would be denied, but will be instructed to return whence it has come and so will rise in the west, one needs to ask, is the Sun not coming from the east?! If the Qur'an/hadith while talking about the movement of the Sun, is referring to the diurnal cycle or talking about the alternation of night and day, shouldn't it have returned to the east?! And how does the Sun sets in the west, only for it to rise in the east?!

The sun is not coming to the Throne from the east. The sun sets in the west. So it comes towards the Throne from the West. Returning to the whence it came from mean returning to the west and rising from the west. As one of the major signs of judgement day according to hadith.

Where is this 'resting place'

I would have to be outside the physical realm.

and how does this Sun rise from its resting place from another place entirely?!

Who knows? May be it is assumed there is another path for the sun, leading eastward from underneath the Throne of prostration to the east where it rises on earth horizon?

Of course, at the end of the narration, it clearly states what the verse in question is really referring to, that there is a decreed point in time and space where the Sun's movements will reach and everything will change!

But it says nothing about like this. It just states where the sun goes at sunset and is permitted to rise after prostration but one day it won't be allowed to rise from the east, it usual rising place. I thought this is straight forward. Remember the hadith on the greater sign of the resurrection; the sun rising from the west?

This narration only buttress the fact that your understanding taken from the interpretation of the Qur'an is faulty and parochial, and that the movements of the Sun and the Moon is quite different from the alternations of night and day!

It is not faulty, it is a very probable understanding. Even the scholars of Qur'an considered it.

Are you the author of the Qur'an?! Is the Qur'an a scientific book that want to teach you in details, geography and astronomy?! Even so, the fact that Allah (SWT) informed us that these celestial bodies do have their own orbits, should easily make you know that earth would definitely also have its own motion and its own orbit!

Let me help you with an appropriate verse:

He created the heavens and the Earth with truth. He wraps the night around the day and wraps the day around the night, and has made the Sun and Moon subservient, each one running for a specified term. Is He not indeed the Almighty, the Endlessly Forgiving? (Sahih International Qur'an 39: 5)

I hope it is getting clearer?! Can you see the distinctions?! Night and day a la earth's rotation, and Sun and Moon, running specific term and being useful for earth and its inhabitants?!

Ah, this is only one way of looking at it. And It is not indisputable. It is still highly plausible that this verse(36:38) is alluding to geocentric model of the universe - wherein the solar and lunar orbits are tied to diurnal cycle.

As to 39:5, this is surely speculation on your part. If you lived in the 7th century, reading the Qur'an and this verse won't give you the impression of earth movement. The Qur'an explicitly mentions the solar and lunar orbit, it is hard to understand why it didn't mention the earth orbit likewise, if it imply the earth revolve and rotate.

Also, I wonder why any time the Qur'an speak of lunar and solar orbit, it speak about day and night? The Qur'an seem to imply geocentric universe model more than helical model.

Bro, it is beyond mastering the Arabic language, the translators would always try their best, but they are also limited by their own knowledge and understanding, not to mention the limitation associated in not making the whole thing too voluminous! Hence, the need for righteous Scholars and a sincere mind to learn and understand the Qur'an.

My position on 36:38 is the position of some of the scholars according to ibn Kathir; https://quranx.com/Tafsir/Kathir/36.38

An advice to tru2god:
if you're truly true2god then you should study Islam from the orthodox creed if you continue jumping around you'll not see the truth. Start from the bottom to the top, not from the top to the buttom. Islam doesn't have any faults it is the Muslims who have faults.

Of course, if you believe in hitting misbehaving wives, believe that two different sea waters or salt and fresh water are separated by an inviolable barrier, believe that mountains prevent the earth from shaking, then Islam is the has no fault in it.

You're right but it's not as easy as you think. The presence of the French and British people have disunited the Muslims and many tribes around the world. So it's not as easy as you think. Besides it's all prophesy that's happening when the time comes the forces of evil shall crawl on their knees.

Here we go again. "It is the west that is behind all Muslim problems. They disunited Muslims, fund terrorism, and trained bin Laden." As if blaming the west is not enough, najib turns to the prophecy card. "All these have been prophesied".

Haha, a prophecy is a destiny revealed. If Allah destined the predicament of Muslims then why blame the west? This is just another cheap tactics to excuse Muslims from owning up to their own failures.

If they still refuse to pay tribute, then they are fought. Always, they end up fighting as no non-Muslim territory give up their faith or wealth without a fight.

This is the horrible truth about Muslim history. I was ashamed, Oh God, I knew I was ashamed when I learnt the truth about how bloody Muslim early history is. Christian early history was far purer until long after Christ, when Christianity became the state religion.

What are you verifying?! The important context is the verse quoted in red in my post, that the Sun and the Moon each float in their own orbits! The fact that the night and day are distinct as the verses indicated, doesn't mean the 'resting place' should be connected to the diurnal cycle! For starters, the Qur'an here is talking about the Sun and moon moving in their own orbits!

OK. Here is Hadith teaching that this verse is connected to diurnal cycle;
https://sunnah.com/bukhari/59/10

I always thought we agreed that the best way to grasp a verse with multiple possible meanings is to consider the subject of the neighboring verses.

grin That is what I was saying up there, it is about the Sun and Moon's movements, and not that of the earth, and thus shouldn't be conflicted with the alternation of night and day!

How can you speak on how day transitions into night without reference to earth rotation?

What is being 'strip of the day', when the night comes?

If you have even just elementary knowledge about the language of the Qur'an, the Arabic language and its nuances as well as its grammatical and literary prowess, you wouldn't be asking your number 2 question or even the first! My advice, please check out the Bayyinah institute/TV on youtube, and perhaps learn a little bit about the language of the Qur'an!

Then what is the purpose of translation? It is the responsibility of the translators to translate to reflect the Arabic text. Even if I master Arabic, I'll basically be translating Qur'an for myself.

Men may not be to blame for behaving like women. It could be due to their upbringing or genetic. If we all harbored curses and kicked them out, we'd never understand the genetic root of sexual behaviors to realize why some males may act too feminine and some females act too masculine.

Of course, there could be exceptional cases. But it is a fact that feminine behavior in males and masculine behavior in females is inborn
