adeiye:

hi. does anyone know, what courses or certifications i require for building, upgrading and updating a website. please responses a.s.a.p

Courses are varied name differently depend on which schools and colleges you enroll at below:

Web Development
Intro to HTML 101 and Advanced HTML
Web Designing
Visual Communication
Web Content Specialized
Web Production

Certifications also varied too:

Web Development certification
HTML certification
XML certification
PHP certification
Internet & Web Certification

Check for more info at following link including schools (USA):
http://webdesign.about.com/od/certification/Web_Development_Certification_XHTML_XML_HTML_Web_Design.htm

Remember I do not live in Nigeria, go NL Education or Certification & Training sections here there you will find lot more topics there matching what you look for.

Some did not go school or getting certifications but study on ebooks and books learning about website development at their own paces independently in order to save their money.

Some are very passionately to learn faster at least 2-5 years proficient in web designing including continue to upgrading their skills to be polished the latest technology trends.

Some are 5-10 years devoted web developers for a long time from changing programming from high-level to low-level, depend on situation based on survival and socio-economic environment.

Don't worry! I am proficient in web hosting server control panel(CP): C-panel, Plesk, Hspere, now new add your CP: Total Control (i never see it before) to my CV/resume.

Your webhost4file hosting control panel is called "Total Control"

To get FTP info, use "Account" menu, you will find there.

To upload file via hosting control panel, use "Site Admin" menu then on the right-hand column select "File Manager". Then scroll down on the section of "Upload Single File:". (i hate single uploaded file each time, that's why I use Dreamweaver's remote connection or FTP software allowing multiple file uploading more faster than using web-based hosting CP.)

To install osCommerce (Ecommerce) to your hosting service, use "Site Admin"  menu then on the right-hand column select "Ecommerce Wiz" and following the instructions there.

To manage a database, use "Database" menu then on the right-hand column select the sub menu "MySQL Admin", and you will find the name of database, server IP address, login ID and database type there in order to set up for your Dreamweaver database connection.

Alternative method of fastest and easiest way managing your DB is use your hosting web-based DB manager. Go back to the "Database" menu then on the right-hand column select the sub menu "MySQL Manager (PHPMyAdmin), and enter your MySQL username/password (it is same as FTP username/password).
For rest of other control panel button navigations do not touch them unless if you are modify something---bit complex set up: Domains, DNS, Mail, Security, Report. Those are for adding user(s) or another Domain name(s) or SSI certification key.

If you still are stuck using your hosting server: webhost4life control panel, here is your interactive Demo Tutorial link at below:
https://controlpanel.mysite4now.com/demowcp/

Good luck!

Understandable to protect your username/password on public forum. That is fine with me here.

Are you use FTP account (sometimes called host username/password or server username/password to varied web hosting server) to set up remote site? You also can use IP address as FTP account too.

Did you have trouble accessing to C-panel? If you have no problem accessing to C-panel, then i suggest you to look at C-panel account information you will find useful FTP account there. If not, then next step below question.

What is the name of your web hosting server?

I will google finding its properly FTP account configuration for FTP software for you.

I am asking you, is it must for you as programmer to marry programmer?

Why not marrying web designer/web developer ones? Perfect match to share high-level programmer and low-level designer/developer in programming and web development business together.

I used to be like this 20 years finding that mate (high-level programmer) to get marry me. Still no luck for me all those 20 years so far, ending up forced marriage by my parent to high school sweetheart whom i want to end relationship upon my college graduation (2 years difference). Now I am divorced.

Oh! I am so sorry for calling you "lazy" since you are newbie web designer. All right!

Which FTP software you use? Cute FTP or Filezilla that confused me knowing which FTP you get error "530 Authentication failed"?

For Filezilla software, i found the google of "530 Authentication failed" on Filezilla at below:

Your username should be the name you use to login to cPanel WITHOUT the .yourdomainname.com at the end.
So yours would be

Be aware about dangerous opposition of religion (secular cults).

That why American are so crazy movements as you fall into wrong crowd/group/people.

The opposition to cults and new religious movements(NRMs), that comes from several sources with diverse concerns. Some members of the opposition have associations with cult-watching groups which collect and publish critical information about one or multiple groups they consider cults. Other opposition comes from traditional religion (notably the Christian countercult movement), from secular cult-critics, from skeptics, and from critical former members (sometimes referred to in literature as apostates).

Please read the further details at below source.

4. How come the south (aka the bible belt) associated with the militarism, religion, racism more than the north?

Again, I say about American history class I was taught about the south was the first colonial era in 1607-1776 that was discovered by Europe to escape their religion conflict. The revolution war and Civil Wars broke up spreading out different religions everywhere differently. Let's look at wikipedia about the bible belt in details at below:

The Bible Belt is an informal term for an area of the United States of America in which socially conservative Evangelical Protestantism is a dominant part of the culture. In the United States, it is an idiom for the region where the Southern Baptist Convention denomination is strongest (though many other denominations, such as the Church of Christ and Assemblies of God, can be found there as well)—usually meaning the South and nearby areas.

Much of the Bible Belt consists of the Southern United States. During the colonial period (1607-1776), the South was a stronghold of the Anglican church. Its transition into a conservative Protestant Bible Belt occurred gradually over the next century, as a series of religious revival movements, many associated with the Baptist denomination, gained great popularity in the region.

The region is usually contrasted with mainstream Protestants and Catholics of the northeast, the religiously diverse Midwest and Great Lakes, the Mormon Corridor in Utah and southern Idaho, and the relatively secular western United States. The percentage of non-religious people is the highest in the northwestern state of Washington at 25%, compared to the Bible Belt state of Alabama, where it is 6%.[2]

The earliest known usage of the term "Bible Belt" was by American journalist and social commentator H.L. Mencken, who wrote:

The old game, I suspect, is beginning to play out in the Bible Belt.

– [3]Chicago Daily Tribune, November 19, 1924

(source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bible_Belt)

Unchurch belt:

By constrast, the term Unchurched Belt refers to a region in the far Western United States that has low rates of religious attendance. The term derives from Bible Belt and the notion of the unchurched.

States that are generally agreed to belong in the region include Alaska, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington. Demographic patterns do not always break down along state lines. California cities and counties such as Los Angeles and San Francisco may be included, as are most of Arizona and Nevada. Despite some influence from evangelicals and Mormons, the western regions of Idaho, Montana and possibly Colorado may also be included, and some Northeastern United States regions like New York City and certain parts of New England were said to be unchurched.

3. Majority black churches lean on democratic party while white churches lean on republican party.
I disagreed with you, @toshmann about the races of churches lean on which politic party.

The answer on religion and politics is politicians frequently discuss their religion when campaigning, and many churches and religious figures are highly politically active. However, to keep their status as tax-exempt organizations they must not officially endorse a candidate. There are Christians in both the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, but evangelical Christians tend to support the Republican Party whereas more secular voters support the Democratic Party.

2. Churches engage in political where pastors endorse politicians.

My beliefs on bible-faith church where I was taught by my former pastor, he told my congregations that all pastors are not supposed to involved in politic to endore politicians that must be separated but let the pastors educate them(congregations) neutrally---it is you make the decision choosing which politic party you belong. It is between you and God where you strongly believe and have your faithfulness.

I am rural Baptist Christian, but i did not go my former city church much since I moved out last year (2007) August back my rural hometown to leave them (city church) behind. I was certified evangelist, deaf choir member, volunteered deaf bible study teacher, and graphic/computer support ministry to serve God.

Yes, that is the pastor's responsibility to educate them congregations very briefly about the republican party and democratic party but it is your choice, not pastor's choice or God's choice. The same thing pastors educate congregations about issues on health, HIV/AIDS exposure, pre-martial/cohabitations, financial woes, grieving on death/divorce/loss/depression and everything where congregations struggle with their life. Many churches has provide its own counseling services as well as private pastor office by appointments.

1. Americans' vs Europeans' religions differently

Are you aware the fact that there are over 200 religions everywhere? Let's look at the major religions of the world ranked by the numbers of adherents at below:

(Sizes shown are approximate estimates, and are here mainly for the purpose of ordering the groups, not providing a definitive number. This list is sociological/statistical in perspective.)
1.  Christianity: 2.1 billion

2.   Islam: 1.5 billion

3.   Secular/Nonreligious/Agnostic/Atheist: 1.1 billion

4.   Hinduism: 900 million

5.   Chinese traditional religion: 394 million

6.   Buddhism: 376 million

7.   primal-indigenous: 300 million

8.   African Traditional & Diasporic: 100 million

9.   Sikhism: 23 million

20.  Unitarian-Universalism: 800 thousand

21.  Rastafarianism: 600 thousand

22.  Scientology: 500 thousand
By the way the total adds up to more than 100% due to rounding and because upper bound estimates were used for each group. This is 2005 statistics, so today's religions will be increased differently than what 2005 used to be. [source: http://www.adherents.com]

Specifically the religion in the United States (US) has a history of diversity, due in a large part to the nation's multicultural demographic makeup. (source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Religion_in_the_United_States )

the following is the order of religious preferences in the United States:
[li]Christian: (76% breakdown below)[/li]

Religion in Europe

Religion in Europe history, and its various faiths have been a major influence on European art, culture, philosophy and law. The majority religion in Europe is Christianity and Islam mainly in the south east, other religions include Hinduism, Buddhism and Judaism exist but in much smaller numbers. Europe being largely a secular region also has the largest number and proportion of irreligious, agnostic and atheistic people in the Western world, with a particularly high number of self-described non-religious people in the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, and Sweden.

See picture about the color-based statistical Europe religion below.

In the USA, we the Americans are aware of not mixing with the state governnments and religion, therefore it stay separatedly, according to the US Constitution laws.

The separation of church and state is a legal and political principle derived from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . ." The phrase "separation of church and state", which does not appear in the Constitution itself, is generally traced to an 1802 letter by Thomas Jefferson to the Danbury Baptists, where Jefferson spoke of the combined effect of the Establishment Clause and the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment. It has since been quoted in several opinions handed down by the United States Supreme Court.

Description of SirCam virus(cause, what it look like, how it attack):

I-Worm.Sircam.A is an Internet and network worm similar to I-Worm.Magistr.A. The virus spreads through e-mail using its own SMTP routine, sending itself to addresses from the Address Book and from cache or through the shared directories.

It is transmitted through a message with a randomly chosen subject and body, in the form of a combination between the virus infection routine and a file chosen randomly from My Documents.

The original name of the file is kept, but an executable extension is added (.pif, .exe, .lnk).

Users who do not have the option to see attachment extensions activated, will only see the original extension and can be easily fooled.

The body message is as follows:
Subject: Document file name (without extension)
From: [user_of_infected_machine@prodigy.net.mx]
To: [random@email.from.address.book]

Hi! How are you?
I send you this file in order to have your advice

or:

I hope you can help me with this file that I send
I hope you like the file that I send you
This is the file with the information that you ask for

See you later! Thanks

or, in Spanish:

Te mando este archivo para que me des tu punto de vista

or:

Espero me puedas ayudar con el archivo que te mando

If the attachment is opened, the worm copies itself in the system directory under the name scam32.exe. It also copies itself into the directory "Recycled" under the name sirc32.exe, which is a hidden file. Then the virus creates the following three keys in the Windows Registry:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run Services

with the value Driver32 = %System%\scam32.exe to be accessed when Windows starts, and:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\exefile\shell\open\command

with the value C:\Recycled\sirc32.exe "%1" %*" for the routine infection to be executed before any other EXE file.

Therefore, your computer is infected. MY ADVICE TO YOU: never open strange file attachment you never heard. You now learned the lesson!

and also, whats the depth of knowlege i need to run the site as an administrator do i need to be an SQL/apache/php GURU to do that, what and what do i need to master??

You can use free host that has PHP/MySQL support with the capability to upgrade next package to be sufficient running your forum expanding no problem.

For forum administrator, to learn basic PHP and HTML to know how to modify the coding without mess up the real SMF PHP coding. Make yourself habit to back up SMF files before installing new SMF mods. Always back up first!!!

Good idea to make two SMF themes: one for real one (your theme where real members access) and the other experimential forum site (default theme where you can test them additional new mods or editting PHP codes). Back up both!

If you do not understand what I talk about, please consult with real Nigerian SMF consultant (The Wall) I already provide the link above.

Foreign Affairs / Re: Honest Question For African Americans? by uspry1(f): 4:46pm On Aug 07, 2008
I have done my homework googling to find your answer: What does Democrats have done for AA?

Democrats are as close to losing the African American vote as they have ever been. Let’s be completely honest, the Democratic Party takes African Americans for granted. They have been so focused on trying to win independents that they have all but ignored their most loyal constituency. This has been made very apparent in the primary. Obama did not have a lock on the African American vote until South Carolina. The reason for his dominance with this constituency is not because he is African American, it is because the Clintons were so confident of African American turnout in November that they thought nothing of alienating Blacks. This is just an expression of elite Democrats failure to really make an effort to earn Black loyalty.

McCain is not a scary Republican. He is not George W. Bush or Pat Buchanan. McCain is an old school Republican who doesn’t lean so heavily on the southern strategy that he scares Blacks off. Hillary, and her salt the earth policy, have managed to split the Democratic Party. It is possible for it to be reunited but not by a Clinton. If Clinton manages to win the nomination by hook or crook there are large numbers of African Americans who are willing to cross party lines or sit out this election. Those who sit out have the potential to be reenergized but those who cross lines to vote for McCain have the potential to stay there. Part of what McCain represents is a shift of the Republican Party away from the far right. 2008 could be the opportunity that some have been waiting for to break up the Democratic monopoly of the African American vote.

Luckily for the Democratic Party, Republican attempts to woo African American voters have been rare and incompetently executed. Leaning on the incompetence ones opponent is a terrible way to fight a political battle. Hopefully the party elite of the party will wake up and avoid losing one of its most valuable and important constituencies.

In order to install WinXP, you have to boot to WinXP CD. Check boot order in BIOS.

It should read:
- floppy
- CD ROM
- hard drive

Select "CD ROM" then boot it from CD ROM. Computer detect installing for you.

If it doesn't recognize "CD ROM", then can you format the hard disk drive (HDD) under DOS command? Format is used to erase all of the information off of a computer diskette or fixed drive.

If yes you can format HDD, then once format is done, then insert your WinXP CD installation.

@pipmaster

Please go get Teltonika USB G10 Linux driver download from Microchip Technologies Ltd site or modem CD to be installed on your system. If you do not understand this, go look at PDF-formmated online link: User Guide of Teltonika USB G10 . It states that it has its own CD including drivers and documentation.

Then Ubuntu will detect new hardware: Teltonika USB G10 as USB device.

Good luck
