I am sorry for all those jubilating for this new party. I do not see anything good about this merger, because it is aimed at "LET US TAKE POWER AT THE CENTRE AT ALL COST". If I may ask: What is the ideology behind these people / association / MERGER? Are they trully Progressives

Oshomole - He is a LP/PDP man. Just in APC as a matter of circumstance, same as Ngige and others. Senator Amosu is still OBJ man even if he got to office via ACN.

My prediction - This merger will collapse at the point of choosing the presidential candidacy! Why? The Buhari/Tinubu factors! Both Buhari and Tinubu do not believe in Party primaries. Both are known to select candidates. If true primaries are conducted, Buhari will lose. And you know what, he will rekindle his hope in his party CPC. And who would be worse for it? ACN - They will lose Oyo for it. Mark my word!!! Who will gain from this? ANPP/CPC - They will create in-roads into some core North states that are currently PDP hold.


As for me & my household, I do not believe in this APC. A reformed PDP is still better. In any case, they can only boast of 10 state, best case 12 states, that is adding Delta and possibly one more state to their numbers.

It is pathetic to say the least! We have over 7 engineers in my company, all they do is pursue POs and process documents to pay contractors (most of whom are HND graduates and technicians). Our universities are churning out harpless theorists without substance in the name of engineers!! Recently, my organisation took a bold step to empower the few senior HND guys by elevating them beyond the seeming 'bar'. You know what, these guys (HND holders) have practically sent away the exparts. By the way, I work for a multinational.

I think our universities are not good enough place to train engineers, IT personnel and doctors because technology is moving so fast beyond our schools and our lecture notes and equipments are outdated. SORRY!

Dear Nlanders, everybody condemns this attack, but the likes of Buhari, Saltan, emirs in the North should call their peple to order.  If tomorrow, Abuja central mosque or any islamic gathering is bombed, how would they feel and what would be their reaction

Buhari should do more by holding a dialogue with BH leaders (afterall he and Bakare called them out in the first place) and ask them to end this senseless killings.  If trully he wants to convince us that he can be a reliable leader in Nigeria, let him handle this.  Otherwise, statements like these are just meant to weep up political sentiments.

- Privatisation of the power sector: The conclusion of which would change the rating of GEJ and by extension the PDP

- Electoral reforms: Poster fogot that GEJ promised a credible elections. You may argue it, the last elections were the BEST Nigerian have ever had. Better than Open Ballot System because, in Open Ballot System, votes can be bought for cash, but in the Open-Secret Ballot System, I can collect your money and still vote my conscience

- Road & Rail rehabilitations and improvements have commenced. Unless for the naive and the sceptics, this government is already working

We have all watched as innocent lives are cut short at their primes in the North, either for political, religious or ethnic reasons.  Beginning from the days preceding the Nigerian Civil war in the 70's up till 2011, this problem has still not been taken care of.  What has happened overtime has been relative peace for a short while and the restive Northern youth would start killing.  The painful part is that young educated Christian Youth Corpers, especially from the South, mandated by the Federal Government to serve their nation are cut short by illiterate almajiris, who never attempted to improve their lots?  These happens repeatedly while their leaders pretend that all is well!

I cannot recall how many times these riots have happened in Kano, through Bauchi, Kaduna, Katsina, Bornu, Yobe, Plateau and virtually all over the North, it is either a little misunderstanding between a Christian and a Muslim or one statement or another about the Islamic religion and these people would start killing innocent Christians and Southerners, burning churches, cars, houses and so on.

My biggest challenge is that OUR LAWS are not being enforced to the letters.  Killing is MURDER!  Burning houses and properties is ARSON!  These two offences attract punitive punishments including death by hanging.  Unfortunately, I am not aware (though I stand to be corrected) of anytime instance where perpetrators of these offences are punished with the "full weight of the law"!  I do hope that President Jonathan will start well by ensuring that all those found wanton in the latest wave of violence and their leaders are dully punished for their evil deeds.

Fellow NLders, can you suggest what should be done to stop these killings.  I believe that offenders should be publicly executed firing squad. or hanging.  With that knowledge, the perpetrators would be deterred.  Also, LGA Chairmen, Governors, Emirs, Chiefs, Obas or Obis on whose domain riots are perpertrated should be deposed after trials. THAT IS MY TAKE ON THIS! NIGERIA IS FOR ALL OF US. WHAT IS YOURS?
