Unfortunately, we are not helping ourselves. Any small thing we resort to abuses and posting pictures of bad things in Africa. We show the world our floods, we tell them about our leader's ineptitude, we wash our dirty linens outside. Take the West for example, they will never show you that they have 'pot-holes' on their roads, they will never tell you about beggars on the streets of New York, London, Berlin, Beijing, Moscow. You will never see CNN telling you about barbaric lifestyles. All you see are people smiling and exuding life of sweetness.

Take for example, in the last 10 years that I have known Punch Newspapers for instance I have never seen good news on its front page with people smiling. May be I missed it but is rare. We are our worst enemy!

Politics › INTRGUING: 100 Boys Abducted In Bornu ... 51 Boys From Bornu Found In Plateau by Validated(op): 4:41am On Aug 15, 2014
The Nigeria Defence Headquarters has announced on Thursday the interception by its troops of 51 young men traveling in three 18-seater buses from Maiduguri in Borno State to Abuja.

The DHQ said that the officers of the Special Task Force were investigating the motive for the movement of the youths, adding that the youths claimed to be travelling under the directive of a government official in Borno.

No government official has yet confirmed the claim, the military said.

According to the post made on its website, the Nigerian military authorities stated that the transportation of the youths occurred around 3 a.m. when they were stopped in Plateau State.

“Officers of the Special Task Force are currently trying to unravel the motive for the movement of some youths from Maiduguri, heading to Abuja at about 3am when they were accosted in Plateau State on Wednesday,” the DHQ said.

It added that the youths were being chaperoned by a lady.

The military added, “Numbering about 51, the youths were under the guidance of a lady as they were being conveyed in three 18-seater mass transit buses when they were intercepted along Babale in Plateau State as they journeyed from Maiduguri to Abuja in the night.

“During the interrogation that followed, they claimed they were being conveyed to Abuja on the directives of a Borno State Government official to meet their relatives for assistance in an economic empowerment programme.

“The official is yet to respond to series of efforts to verify the claims.”

“The issue is being investigated to ascertain the genuine mission of such a team of young persons, moving in the night more so as they have made contradictory statements as to the sponsorship of their mission to Abuja.

“The movement is being assessed in the light of the security situation and the suspicious claims of the youths.”

True talk. The plan is govern Adamawa for this time and take a shot at the presidency in 2019. GEJ would rather hand over to Ribadu than all those hawks from the North West.

I wish him well and I do hope he contests under the reformed PDP where the peoples' votes count and no 'DO OR DIE' politics as practiced by some old retired generals. The appellation 'Middle Belt' does not necessarily mean that the region is exactly in the middle of Nigerian map. It would then be wrong to class Delta, Edo, Cross Rivers and Akwa Ibom as South-South if we adopt your analogy. Middle Belt represents those minority groups in the North especially in the Benue basin / Kwara / Kogi axis, some part of Kebbi and Niger State, Plateau, especially Christians within these regions. Although you can call these people as Arewa, but for political alignment, the whole Arewa is divided into North East, North West and North Central or Middle Belt.

APC cannot dare it. They should not forget where MKO ended. I used to admire Oyegun, I actually campaigned for him to be governor of Edo back then in school against Lucky Igbinedion as SDP candidate. Since joining APC, Oyegun has become something else.

simpleseyi: Your hatred for Islam has not stopped the growth of Islam over the years. Our prophet came about 600 years after Jesus, yet followers of the prophet are at par with church goers. Stop stalking Islam, instead tell your catholic priesst to stop molesting young boys and your men-of-god to stop extorting the poor masses like politicians.
It is unfortunate that you do not see anything wrong with this action of your fellow Muslims. Would you love your daughter to be treated as such? Religion has blinded some of you that truth is no longer sacred.

On the growth of Islam, it is not surprising because the world love evil. Jesus said that broad is the way that leads to destruction and many would follow that way. The narrow way is the way to life and only few walk thereon. Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. So my friend the spread of Islam does not mean that your religion is better but that people love easy way out and others are threatened with death and forced to convert. Imagine abducting 276 girls and forcing them to convert to your religion. Does that make them Muslims? No! Their hearts still beat for God no matter that they pretend to be Muslims.

Please, advice your people to stop the killing and maiming and see how fast your religion would grow.

Have a great day

@ OP and others, please see my comments here under

Errors in the Bible
Let’s consider just these ten errors in the Bible:

1. Jesus curses fig tree and it withers immediately (Matthew 21:18-20). Jesus curses this same fig tree and it does not wither immediately. The disciples observe it withered the next morning (Mark 11:12-14; 20-21).
Comment: Good thing is that the miracle of cursing the fig tree was not disputed. The message is the as Yeshua Ha-Mashiach, He could speak even to a living tree and it obeys Him. He could make dead and bring back the dead to life

2. Mark records Jesus as quoting from Isaiah (Mk. 1:2), when the words are actually from Malachi (3:1).
Comment: The Book quoted is still a Biblical verse. Has the message changed you or is the verse more important to the word therein?

3. Matthew records a quote and credits it to Jeremiah (Mt. 27:9), when the majority of the quote is actually found in Zechariah (11:12, 13) not Jeremiah.

4. Jesus heals one demon-possessed man (at Gerasenes/Gergesenes/Gadarenes) and sends the demon into the pigs (Mark 5:1-20). But in Matthew’s story of the same event, Jesus heals two demon-possessed men (at Gerasenes/Gergesenes/Gadarenes) and sends the demons into the pigs (Matthew 8:28-34).
Comment: Did the demons obey His command? Whether they were two demon possessed or one, the message here is that by His word alone, the demons departed. Have you ever asked why some Jews, Christian and Muslims detest pork, it originates from this scripture, yet you doubt its reality.

5. Most Bibles have no verse 24 of Romans chapter sixteen. The text skips from verse 23 to verse 25. Some kind of error occurs here.
Comment: Now lets see the verse you mentioned: Roman 16:24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. This is Pauls prayers to the Roman church to who he was writing. I am not sure the Bible you say does not have this verse. Would be nice to have such version(s) so it can be read in context.

6. Those that died in Numbers 25:9 are 24,000; whereas 1 Corinthians lists 23,000 for the same event.
Comment:In the verse quoted, Apostle Paul was writing to the Church in Corinth. Now the scripture you referred to I Corinthians 10:8 has a message to the Church then even as it does today. If you have read from verse 1 you would have understood that the message was no necessarily the number. Rather the message's focus was from verse 6 thus: V6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand

7. Jesus tells the disciples to take a staff on their journey as recorded in Mark 6:8, but Matthew records Jesus as telling the disciples not to take a staff on that journey (10:9-10).
Comment: I am not able to see where Jesus asked His disciples not to take with then staff in Matt 10. Please see what the Bible state: Mark 6: 8 "And commanded them that they should take nothing for their journey, save a staff only; no scrip, no bread, no money in their purse:" while Matt 10:9 "Provide neither gold, nor silver, nor brass in your purses, 10 Nor scrip for your journey, neither two coats, neither shoes, nor yet staves: for the workman is worthy of his meat."

8. 2 Samuel says that God incited David to take a census (24:1-2); 1 Chronicles says that Satan induced David to take that census (21:1-2).
Comment: You need to read the Bible with the heart and leading of the Holy Spirit otherwise you would continue to read it in folly. The scripture here states; 2 Sam 24:1 "And again the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he moved David against them to say, Go, number Israel and Judah." whereas, 1 Chronicles 1: 1 "And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel." Now let me teach you somethings about the Spirit. If you are led by the Spirit of God, you do not do evil. God can "permit" Satan to possess an individual because of sin, disbelief and or errors or just to prove He is God. If that happens, God's anger can be kindled against such and He would 'allow' Satan have his way. Read Job 1: 6-12. Take particular note of V12 please! In this verse God did not hurt Job but Satan did but God allowed it.

9. Matthew quotes Jesus as saying that the mustard seed is the smallest of all seeds (13:31-32). However, the mustard seed is not the smallest of all seeds.
Comment: You read out of context. The reference to the mustard seed was just for their understanding. Take for example there are seeds that you cannot see without the use of a microscope. Of what use would it be mentioning such seeds to a congregation that do not understand it. Why Jesus reference the mustard seed was because that was the smallest seed that the congregation know. Read with your heart circumcised otherwise you miss the message

10. Matthew says that Judas hanged himself (27:5), while the writer of Acts says that Judas died after falling headlong and bursting open (1:18).
Comment: This is irrelevant! However Judas died is of less importance than the fact that he died for betraying the Lord of Lords. The price paid to him (30 pieces of silver) was used to buy the potters field on which he was buried. Note that Matthew only told us he hung himself. Act stated that he fell headlong. Do you know how they brought him downhuh The message is clear that all those betraying the LORD now would face the same judgement as Judas

In all of these, I discover that you just toured the Bible to try to discredit it. For your information the Bible has 66 Books, (66) and 1,189 Chapters and 31,102 verses (KJV). If out of these, you have doubts of only 10 verses (0.032%) while 99.97% are not in dispute, then you should know that only The Almighy God could have inspired 66 men to document such level of accuracy over several centuries.

God bless you and open your eyes to the TRUTH, THE WAY & THE LIFE - His name is JESUS - Yeshua Ha-Mashiach.

btlasisi: Can anybody answer these questions pls.

Who is benefitting from all these terrors?

Each time there is a carnage all security chiefs will hold an indoor meeting and would eventually come up with a resolution to curb the menace and prevent future occurrence. But meanwhile a budget of billions of Naira would be approved for the purchase of anti-terror equipments, end of story till another carnage...
Never meant to stalk you nor quote all you stated above as everyone can read it.

That said, sorry I think you are begging the issue on focus. Have you ever asked yourself who is benefiting from the bombings in Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Libya, Egypt, Palestan, Afghanistan and other Islamic countries? Do we then conclude these are happening because some security chiefs or politicians are reaping or smiling to the banks because of the level of insecurities in these countries?

We should call a spade what it is. Islam promotes violence and terrorism. Muslims first accept this fact and begin to find solutions to this problem. In history, you would find that Christianity was practiced in barbaric ways with killings, slavery, racial discrmination, etc. But the Christian leaders began to teach faithfuls about the consequences of these evil and today you have the Christian countries living more peaceably. In same vein, Muslims must accept that Islam teaches violence and look at how to counter the verse that promoting violence.

Sincerely, if I was a Muslim, I would have since had a rethink about the religion. Why? Because, all over the world you see that Muslims cannot live peaceably with their neighbours, whether fellow muslims or other religions. This is BAD.

Does it answer your question?.
This (the bolded part) is the problem! I lived in the house of an Islamic leader at a time. Anytime they preach especially during Ramadan or have their teaching, it is about other religions and trying hard to disprove one Biblical beliefs or another. Never ever heard them teach about consequences of ones actions with Koranic references but only interested in preventing their faithfuls from conversion to Christianity.

If Islam is really a religion of peace, then it should counter the brainwashing of these terrorists by expounding from the Quoran the consequence(s) of such devilish acts. In Christianity for instance, it is very clear that if you commit suicide, you are already in hellfire. Nobody needs a Pastor or clergy to interpret that to a Christian. If you cannot give life, you cannot as well take life.

Unfortunately, Islam tacitly support terrorism by alluding to the fact that if you commit 'atrocities' in the name of Allah you have a place in paradise!
