What exactly won't work ?

Me trying to show you by example that people servicing a shrine does not translate to historical facts or me servicing a bugsbunny shrine ?

Information is a thing. How does information A go from the year 1200's to our current era ?
How many important events do you think happened in those 800 years ? Why would this particular extremely precised (even with several names: oduduwa, oranmiyan, ogiso...) information have travelled through more than 800 years while you basically know nothing which supposedly happened before or after (I trust some other story tellers are working on more myths to fill the blank).

Information is like a bag of rice, it doesn't just walk into your doorstep, it needs to be transported:

Documents written by eyewitnesses are the only vehicle to transport information through time in a period with no video !
Benin kingdom started 40BC are you now saying that about a thousand years should be cut off?
Simply because we want to please the Yoruba people? Hell na bro, not happening even if war breaks out we ain't gonna back down.
No Benin man is going your lane bro

The best way to solve all the recent rancorous argument between children of Ogiso and Yoruba is to erase Bini and Oba from your culture and start teaching us about the accomplishment of Ogiso before Oba.

Destroy the worship and celebrations of Ogun, Osun etc and ban Yoruba names from Bini heritage.

The Bini that were accepted in Lagos see themselves as Yoruba. If Bini claim they are not Yoruba, they have undercut and remove themselves from Lagos and other Yoruba heritage.

Everyone can then exist peacefully in their own domain.
[/s]

OP think before you type, Ọba doesn't mean king in Benin. And if you think we will stop teaching the great accomplishment of the Ọbas and how they conquered 2/3 of your people then you are dreaming.
Going further the fact that 2 different languages have similar words doesn't mean one can claim ownership, you Yorubas are so f**lish at times.
Take a look at this screenshot below, should Italy now claim ownership of the words over Spain or Spain should claim ownership of it over Italy?

So to you the fact somebody today is serving a shrine today proves that 800 or so years ago there was a man named oduduwa who did some magical stuff ?
If I start serving bugsbunny shrine today, would that mean that 2000 years ago, there was a great warrior king named bugs bunny ?
That won't work because no one in that area would go that lane with you

That treaty is a fact, and it obvious the Oba and those loyal to the King, wants that treaty Abolished and all this story you just started are still part of the conspiracy theory to twist historical facts. The Ogiso dynasty did not just come to an end, something happened which was the coming of Oranmiyan into that land. Some Aborigines knows this truth and they are fighting to remove the Oba of Benin who is half Yoruba and half Idu/Igodomigodo so has to be the rightful traditional leader of that land. The story of Ekaladerhan was a fabricated story from the Oba of Benin to keep his throne. Oba of Benin established a formidable empire that terminated the Ogisos dynasty and as you can see till date, any form of kingdom that wants to come up in Edo state today and the Oba of Benin palace feels threatened by it, he goes after it and see to the destruction of such kingdom, just like what they are doing to Ogiamen. This things are so obvious but you people keep distorting history. Ekiokpagha is a pure fact that all this conspiracy of claiming it falsehood can not bring down. Anyways my first post if just clamouring for Benin to stay their lane and stop pushing falsehood against Yoruba all because you want to keep your throne from the Aborigines of the land Igodomigodo.
My brothers have already explained to you, all that there is to be explained, I will add to it by these few questions.

1. If what you say is true, and the Ọba of Benin wants to cancel the treaty, is he cancelling it on your head? How does it affect you? Na your blood he wan use cancel am?

2. If the Ọba is Half Benin Half Yoruba, wetin concern you? Na you he dey rule? We ask for town crier? Are we complaining?

3. Why do you Yorubas like crying more than the bereaved?

The one thing i like with african revisionist is that their revisionism relies on the fact most people in the region are for lack of a better word: dumb as fvck because of lack of education and intelectual lazyness. It doesn't take more than 5 seconds to see through african revisionists.

1) No ogiso
2) no oranmiyan
3) no oduduwa

If you take a closer look at the oduduwa story, you would see that it is actually that of Oba Ovonramwen:

The exiled King of Benin whose son Oba eweka II comes back home to rule ... Does this ring a bell ?

1)Oduduwa = Oba Ovonramwen !
2)Oranmiyan= Oba Eweka II !

And it has nothing to do with ife but Calabar instead.

This everlasting dullard again ??
—————————
Anyways, let me pull a valirex on you: grin

Why was your Oba of Benin stripped naked and flogged 70 strokes as part of his culminating ascension rites at the Oranmiyan grove in Ife in April 2018?

I know the regular excuse you Binis always give to this question is that he was stripped naked because it was a hot summer day in Ife that year. Yen yen yen — cheap excuses!

Okay even if I accept that excuse at them moment for the sake of argument; why then was he flogged? — 70 hot strokes for that matter.

C’mon! You all should come up with another excuse. This one of hot summer day is not flying. grin
[/s]

Dumbo why was the Ooni of Ife ass raped by the sultan of sokoto in 2016 and the entire Yoruba people couldn't do shit?

————————

Like you, I could talk about how the Oba of Benin was stripped n@ked and flogged 70 hot lashes of dried whip as part of his culminating ascension rites when he visited the Oranmiyan grove in April 2018..

And when asked to prove my claim, I’d simply pull a valirex and say — prove me wrong. grin

Now, you must have realized the dumbness of your actual falsehood. cheesy

Actually I realised how dumb you're, with no evidence to prove our assertion wrong, you have to run to pull a quote from your colonial master in order to shade your stupidity, but it can't cover it, you were born dumb and will probably die dumb cheesy

Do not mind these idiots. Those pictures there, I had people in the entourages of Oba Erediauwa and Ewuare II. Oba Erediauwa came to ancestral family home during his thank you visit across Nigeria in 1981. He visited us before going outside Bendel state of that time. The visit went all the way to Sokoto and Brass. Across Nigeria.

Oba Ewuare II did same. What they forget is that as at Oba Akenzua visit, Bendel was still part of Western Region. So Oba as member of Western House in Ibadan was often in the area. Only normal that he visited monarchs in the wider area.

You know better anyway.
They want to attach to Benin for ego massage. Do you see them having sleepless night over Emir of Zazau, Tor Tiv or any other monarch?

Let psychoanalys the mentality of the average Yoruba and Benin to determine who behave like a slave.

The Yoruba here on nairaland will always agree with anything Tao writes, no matter how obvious the lies and no matter what their own education taught them. They will even praise her to high heavens for such lies.

Example: The average Yoruba were taught that their mythical Oduduwa came from the middle east (Saudi Arabia or Egypt). Hundreds of books were written about these since 1800s and the current Ooni recently linked Oduduwa to Egypt but as soon as Tao quoted a 2010 book, none of them will come out to challenge her because the average Yoruba don't have independent of taught, they have herd mentality. They are like ships that can easily be lead to the slaughter house.

This is the reason slavery thrived in the west during the era of slavery and there were hardly any Benin that was taken into slavery.

Benin person is always ready to demand further explanation or proof from a fellow Benin person on anything he/she is not convinced on. The only challenge Tao had was from an Ijebu guy maybe because the Ijebus are reluctant Yorubas.
Ijebus are wiser than the Yoruba people, don't forget that Obasanjo is an Ijebu man. Without the Ijebu people the Yoruba people are nothing.

Are you also forgetting that another set of Yorubas claim Oduduwa came from the sky with a chain hence they gave him the name Oduduwa ateworon grin

The problem I have with you people is that you guys want to be spoon-fed. I have done too much of that here since 2011. Move your ass dude and do some work.

Let me add another homework for you. The Ooni has to slaughter 7 black cows anytime he visits Benin City. Did you notice that he didn't go to Benin to pay dowry on his ex-wife Ms Zainab Obanor? A man that visits people in their houses and frequent birthday parties didn't go to pay bride price on his own wife, instead his father went. Before anyone offers another rubbish explanation that it is Yoruba culture to send their father to do it, I know better. They married from us. Though 95% went on to father kids all over the place, everywhere work took them, and the marriages broke down years later. Only to come begging later. That is another story.

The 7 black cows get why and we know why. I have long rubbished the excuse that it is because he will cross 7 hills and 7 rivers before reaching Benin City. Now tell me, when he gallivants to Brazil to see Yoruba descendants of people that sold themselves into slavery, how many hills and rivers are there before reaching Brazil? Does he kill 30 or 50 black cows before going to Brazil? cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy grin grin grin

As usual, Tao11 be dishing out facts to prove their Oba dynasty is from Ife, but these boys won't agree or bring proofs to dispute it, but want others to believe their stories when they have no fact.

These Bini boys just come online to display inferiority complex at it's peak while deceiving themselves thinking they are great. In summary,

Gregboy- Bini boy, who doesn't want any attachment with any tribe even Igbanke. (At least he knows they are Igbos). For him, he's only concerned with the the Edo nations and that includes the Edoids in other states, but he is finding it hard to believe the Oba Dynasty is of Ife, even when he has seen facts. lol. It makes him weep and give him sleepless nights. Oboy, as long as you are not royalty, do not cry, you are still Bini.

AreaFada and Samuk - Bini boys who want to claim every tribe, even ready to call Fulani and Jukun people Benins. lol.. The real inferior ones.

Etrusen - Feeling Nostalgia about their past and would want every tribe to worship them, or at least claim Benin origin. He denies Ogiemen was king, but his brother Igbinazaka Ogiesuyi is on Facebook telling the world pure truth, because he brings fact.

Valirex & Nazee - Bini boys who do not even know right from left.

In the end they are #smallandstillslaves.
