http://sweetcrudereports.com/2015/12/29/nlng-train-7-fid-coming-soon-kachikwu/ 30 December 2015, Sweetcrude, Abuja – The Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas, NLNG, shareholders would be taking final investment decision, FID, for the NLNG Train 7 project soon, according to Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu. The FID by the shareholders – Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC; Shell Gas BV, Total LNG Nigeria Limited and Eni International NA – has been dragging for years, casting doubt on the possibility of the project’s take off. But, Kachikwu, who is also Group Managing Director of the NNPC, said the shareholders were now desirous of benefiting from the market dynamics and the economies of scale of the existing trains. Said the minister: “We held a meeting two months ago and we are almost getting towards the FID. I think everybody is on block now that Train 7 needs to happen. “Of course, you know that increasingly, the LNG market is getting very tight with the likes of the Qataris, the Saudi Arabia and Russia, dominating the market, and of course, the United States, which is now in a position to actually export”. 3 Likes 1 Share |

dway4ward: Your assertions are absolutely correct. I have been saying it on this thread that they themselves have said that one of the most viable ways for them to stay competitive given the present situation and future forecast is to increase volume and gain market share, hence train 7. So investing in personnel who shall get this expansion up and running is a necessity. These people recently called up EH waitlisters. You are facing a threat you don't retreat and cower, you gear up and prepare for battle. 2 Likes |

Saved2Serve: Hehe I just love this guy no homo. On point. Given the dilemma scenario of the GT recruitment team (if that's really what's happening that is holding this thing up), for the first time I feel their job is highly unenviable. Perhaps they do need the prayers then. |

NanaF: It seems so. But he should've just said "This is NOT the year" and be done with it. |

Let's not forget @okoope too. Come and tell us something. What have you heard? |

Okay, in case any HR is reading... So, IF we the GTs don't get feedback before mid next week it means that some people (EHs) will go into the festive break relaxed and in full knowledge of their status as regards NLNG while others (GTs) won't. You know, I'm just saying. Ermm...but don't you think d tin no too balance like dat? |

DivineU: Interesting. Well we are still here patiently waiting for official notification. We wey no get any means of finding out or can but have opted not to for one reason or the other. 1 Like |

^^ Omo see grafting of post from one thread to another. So EH offer letters dropped today. Congrats to all. E remain us now. And someone said here some time ago that they're doing EH first then GTs. So, brace. |

As we have already established, artmedia only says what is not. Therefore by extrapolation, when he keeps mute when rumours are flying around then it is. I think hopefuls already have it in mind that most won't make the cut going by the numbers. Still a good reminder though. 1 Like |

sexyjob: I'm sure that's not how you're really going to react when you actually see the invite. |

Someone here already told you guys that they're conducting background checks on the provisionally selected candidates. You want them to pick someone and then drop them because they failed the checks. |

In the light of recent events on this thread I guess some of us can now see Dplacement's dilemma. You give obscure inside info and people complain that it's too vague and even suggest that you're probably enjoying tantalizing people, and when you give clear and elaborate inside info and it becomes "overly specific information" and "a leak" which we all know is unethical and unprofessional and, depending on the level of confidentiality of the info and the possible effects of a leak, can even be criminal. 1 Like |

I don't think anyone can imagine where this country would've been headed had that travesty of a government continued. 17 Likes 1 Share |

ItsTime4me: You know I lamented to myself before he modified the post that I thought we somewhat agreed to cease and desist from this unmasking business especially when it concerns people on the inside. |

Hehe, as forewarned by forkadict, guys have jejely started demanding for Saved2Serve's head. |

GT guys, make una relax. As you know, the EHs have migrated from their thread to ours so any info coming from them is assumed to be specific to the EH process. 1 Like |

As much as most of us want him to stay put and face governance, I think these trips are very important, important enough that the president himself attends to signal intent and seriousness. They've all been about cooperation with other countries as regards security, anti-corruption and economy. And they're mostly long-term issues so results might not be quickly visible. For instance this one is very critical because as oil prices are tumbling we need to see how we can better exploit our gas resources to raise more funds for all the planned reforms. A lot of what they've been doing - from the appointments in oil and gas, finance (customs, FIRS), solid minerals etc to the hunt for stolen funds, perhaps even the mtn fine - points to a government seriously looking for ways to raise money because they know they have work to do. Let's hope that is true. And now that there's a cabinet in place, it doesn't look so much like he's abandoned his duty post where he's much needed and is busy touring the world needlessly. 27 Likes 1 Share |

In other news, Mr President is in Iran attending the 3rd Gas Exporting Countries Forum where they shall among other things review the current market outlook on gas and discuss strategies for boosting gas production, which for Nigeria could mean more impetus for the train 7 project. I expected oga Babs to be in the entourage but I only saw Kachikwu's name. I guess that will suffice since he's a key member of the NLNG board. |

It's incredible how nearly all the theories proposed here concerning the timeline of this recruitment have gradually fallen apart. |

Why should the government of Nigeria give a Nigerian entrepreneur a loan with interest no matter how low when we are playing catch up in terms of development? Capitalism at work. Smh |

scarletdp: I know. I know that perhaps only 1 in 10 of those sources are actually capable of giving reliable info. Just didn't want to come down hard on them for the sake of the genuine ones, if any at all. And you know that with the way this recruitment team has been miserly with official info and updates through this unusually long process (except for the "late Q1 2015" update and then the notification of its postponement), we could've used a bit of reliable side info. I said "could've" because like I said, apparently for most of us now, it doesn't matter as much. They should just do their thing. We'll be here when they decide to call on us. |

tk4rd: As in ehn, guys don tire for d matter no be small. Several weeks of "is this the week?", hope that was further fueled by trickles of info from sauces, and more hope as a result of some of us speculating, forecasting and sometimes outright wishful thinking until it reached a climax sometime in september and then it followed the law of diminishing marginal utility. Now guys are like *shrugs* "you know what, they should send the mails anytime they are ready" 2 Likes |
