I have a gut feeling. |

Clearly people are upset now more than ever. What can I say? I think no one of us is immune to the emotional stress this is capable of causing. Believe me, we're all feeling it. What can we do? Some say take your minds off it, which, deep down we know is next to impossible. We can only wait. As helpless as it sounds, that's really all we can do. 1 Like |

Nigeria LNG heading to UK, first in 18 months Nigerian LNG facility on Bonny Island has shipped its first cargo to the United Kingdom in 18 months. Shipping data reveals that the 145,926 cbm LNG Enugu built in 2005 by DSME of South Korea is set to dock at Dragon import terminal on March 10. A Reuters report disclosed that the converging global gas prices have reduced incentives for shippers to deliver Atlantic-produced supply to Asia. Nigeria LNG exported around 40 percent of its production to Asia in 2015 with 30 percent of the production ending up in Europe. However, no cargoes have been delivered to the United Kingdom. The Bonny Island facility, operated by Nigeria LNG has six trains in operation, producing a total of 22 mtpa of LNG. Meanwhile, One of Nigeria LNG’s six production trains at the Bonny Island plant is currently undergoing maintenance. NLNG’s spokesman, Tony Okonedo told reporters recently that maintenance began on January 25 and will be carried out over a period of 70 days ending in the first week of April, noting that there are no production challenges. At full production, the Bonny Island facility’s six trains produce some 22 mtpa of liquefied natural gas, from about 3.5 bcf/d feed gas intake. It has supply deals in place with the likes of Repsol of Spain and BG Group. Additionally, the facility sells LNG cargoes on the spot market. Nigeria LNG is a joint venture by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC (49 percent), Shell (25.6 percent), Total (15 percent), and Eni (10.4 percent). |

People keep making reference to Nicer as evidence that the likes of forkadict and Dplacement can do better. I think that is a faulty argument. Nicer was never a source. What he is is someone involved with the recruitment in one way or the other most probably a member of the recruitment team. What he did was something necessary to rectify the mix up that they had when they drafted candidates for AC, not help a candidate, after all it was their error. After that the only other thing he did was to disabuse some people's minds from the wrong so called insider info some had been spreading concerning senatorial zones etc. 2 Likes |

Personally I think the present situation is good enough for me when I recall that for the majority of the period from AC up until the "still ongoing" notification there was basically no chatter at all. Now at least we're repeatedly hearing some reliable chatter with terms like "soon" and "very soon" being mentioned including even the possible number of intakes. Only thing is that the wait has been too long. |

So each of us here went from being 1 of 40k+ to 1 of 17k+ to 1 of 5k+ to 1 of 600+ to 1 of...I dunno say 150 and now the challenge is to become 1 of 60! ![]() ![]() Anyone here feeling like their luck is about to run out, like this good run is about to come to an end? I am a bit. I know say no be by luck person reach here but mehn the road is narrow. Standard goalposts don turn monkey post! *says a silent prayer* But whatever happens, one can take solace in that the run was quite a good one not that you'll get a certificate for it or anything 1 Like |

But seriously hats off to this forkadict guy. His empathy with our situation is remarkable. He's been with us through thick and thin and feels our pain so much some initially thought he was also a GT candidate and even after he got in he's still got our backs. Oga, I salute you. 2 Likes |

okoope: I think it is usually like that with recruitment threads, the pack becomes smaller and smaller after every round of "results". |

Okay, let me add my own conjecture to the discourse. I say the ones that got the "still in the running" mail make up the number of GTs NLNG originally planned to take in subject to passing a medical. Now however, given the economic situation they've realized they might need to cut down on that number. So now they're facing a number of options: 1. Be bold in the face of economic adversity and employ all, focusing on planning for the future of the company. 2. Employ some and wait-list the rest for such a time when things will begin to look up in the industry (even though some here have made reasonable arguments against the logic of wait-listing GT candidates) 3. Trim down the number of intakes outright which means some who got the "still in the running" mail will get a regret mail eventually. And in the case of option 2 or 3, how do they intend to make the final selection? On what basis? Do they simply raise the cutoff (perhaps per department and also based on FC if it is in play)? Or will they create yet another assessment stage? Like I said This is just open-minded conjecture so feel free to strike out any highly improbable scenario with good reasons. 4 Likes |

That only a few people came here and said they got regret mails doesn't mean they were only a few in total. 100% of the people I know personally that did AC got regret mails. The only thing I can say that probably explains the few regret acknowledgements (apart from some of them deciding not to share) is that probably a sizeable percentage of the active followers of this thread got the "still in the running" mail. I mean, I think there aren't more than 100 active followers of this thread post-shl. Just my analysis. 5 Likes |

Come to think of it, apart from informing that one is still in the running (that is as much as it can mean as it is no guarantee of getting in, especially given the circumstances), the only other question the "recruitment is still ongoing" email answers is that of whether the recruitment has been cancelled. |

hsim247: Chief, relax. It's not some sort of code. He was only counting those viewing this thread at that moment. |

Regret mails were sent for sure. No question about that. Like I said earlier, I think the point of this whole notification was to give closure to those who got the regret mails. I think they're not quite sure what exactly to do with the rest of us given the present circumstances and outlook of the oil market. |
![]() |
Some got regret mails and some got "recruitment is still ongoing" So there are AT LEAST two different types of mails that were sent. |
![]() |
I think if you got the "recruitment is still ongoing" email then you're still in the running. The unsuccessful ones have been told they're unsuccessful. |

artmedia: Good. I just hope the message won't just be that the recruitment process has been put on hold till Q3/Q4 and that's all. I really hope they free those they won't be needing and let the rest wait till whenever it is that they've decided whether Q3/Q4 or sooner or whenever. Just let them not keep over 500 people in limbo for nothing. 2 Likes |

Ermm guys let's slow down a bit. I think it was Saved2serve that said here recently that "Soon, mails will hit your box. Read it with open mind but it is certain that 'some' (yes SOME) GTs will be recruited." Not that he is some oracle or something plus nobody knows how soon is soon in NLNG's world. But I say let's give them say, a month, so that by this time next month if we don't hear from them we shall come here and decide on a collective course of action. I so propose. |

airsaylongcon: "During tax" lol |

Okay, so...hypothetically, you've passed AC but haven't nailed a spot in the starting lineup. Two options: take a sizeable payoff now and walk away or wait till Q3/Q4 and stand a chance of getting in if oil prices recover. |
