TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 2:24am On Mar 04, 2016
So EE profiles with minimum crs of 400 do not get Ontario EOI even when the program quota hasn't filled up? I thought Ontario had an automated system of picking out EE profiles amongst skilled workers with minimum crs of 400 who would then proceed to apply for a PNP and at that point the selection process occurs and successful applicants would get a nomination.
zandora:
No it doesn't. The fact that you score above 400 doesn't guarantee that Ontario will send you an EOI. They only choose a select few because they have a quota to fill. Now that they haven't started their 2016 program the EOI's have dried up.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 4:44pm On Mar 03, 2016
So far, yea 400 minimum crs score translates to an Ontario EOI. however, due to glitches in the system some persons haven't gotten that even after scoring 400, they have been advised by the gurus here to delete their EE profile and re-enter and the invite came.
iceberg54:
Sorry vcole, i just got to know about ontario pnp...

Will ontario invite everyone that scores above 400 to apply for their PNP?

Thanks. Hopefully you'll get your request soon. I can't help thinking that if you waited till jan 2015 you may have been able to go the EE route which may have been faster.........
@ the 6 months na wa! what school? a friend of mine who had to get an ECA for other purposes also had a 6 month processing time as well. (uniben). ecfmg had to send the request 3 times before her school finally "received" it.
Gr8 insight at the provincial requirements as regards mcce and mccqe. do you know how long it took her to get a match?
bunni12:
For medical professionals...
My ECA took almost 6months b4 it was ready. So u have to close your eyes with all the money involved and start asap if u want.
So I was able to submit the paper application dec 2014.
No hitch whatsoever till late last yr sep when MR request stopped. We hopefully believe it has resumed again and we will be sorted out soon.
A friend's sister have started their foreign medical training in the canada and the pay is good and its for 3-4yrs to be a family med practitioner. Some province like BC u will need just the 1st exam(mcce)plus ielts academic while Saskatchewan, manitoba need mccE and mccqe b4 one can start the training.
For EE...a friend (dr)got like 444 and age is 34 with good ielts score plus hubby's ielts. So even if ur hubby of 38yrs applies with clb of 9 in all...he shd score above 400 at least for ontario nomination.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 10:45am On Mar 03, 2016
Congrats. Please if you don't mind, kindly share your app story. what noc did you apply under....what glitches if any did you have along the way....how many family members.....etc etc the whole gist. you would be helping newbies learn a whole lot. thanksss.

Hi Guys,

I must say this forum has been helpful to me, Kudos to all the great work. Been a silent observer and follower for a long time .
I feel i owe it to this forum to express my sincere appreciation and also share my story.
Got PPR on the 25th of February for all my family members and sent passport to AVO. Now awaiting feedback from them. To all awaiting PPR, it will come as AVO is fully awake now and i know of about 10 pple that got PPR last week.
My time line.....
October 2014 applicant.
July 2015 Medical request
August 2015 Medicals done
February 2016 PPR.

To those having issues with making payment for their RPRF, i may be able to assist.

@Zandora, @Jesusdway kudos to you both.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 10:02am On Mar 03, 2016
Hi. You can google the crs tool and use it to calculate an estimated maximum possible score for you and for your hubby to decide who would be best as a principal applicant. Express entry usually favours applicants 30yrs or less with a professional or master's degree and clb level 9 and above on ielts. so, when you use the tool, fill in "proposed" ielts scores and see if y'all can hit 400 minimum (as that would guarantee an invitation by Ontario to apply for their PNP and a possible 600 points if it's successful) whoever has the highest "possible" points should be the principal applicant.
I do not know any medic who has successfully immigrated to Canada via EE or FSW. it will be great if any here can share their experience.
ZannyShasha:
Wowwwwwww!!

I'm so excited I decided to check on here for info. You guys are doing such a fantastic job and with such joy too. God bless you all.

Pls I have some enquiries:

Hubby is a passionate medical doctor who has always believed in staying on and helping with the Nigerian project but so much as happened for some months now and he has finally seen that we need to seek better opportunities for our 2 kids. I am a lawyer and I hear law is now included in the list of professions that can be primary applicant but I still want him to be the primary applicant. How will this affect us?

He's 38, I'm 35.. How does this affect out scores?

Lastly and most importantly, are there any medical professionals from on here that went to Canada and are practicing?
Even though I have read their MCC and physicians apply website,I would just like to know how longit takes in reality to qualify as a physician. How do you cope in the meantime? Can we shuttle back and forth after obtaining the PR?

I'm excited that we are about to take this step at this time, at the same time, I'm scared . I hope we are doing the right thing...fear of the unknown*sigh

Pls kindly advice. Thank you all
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 9:57am On Mar 03, 2016
Congrats on your PPR. Could you kindly give a breakdown of your entire process? for learning purposes. thanksssss.

Hi guys,

I received my PPR today. I've been ecstatic. Hahahah honestly grateful to you, @zandora and @jesusdway. This platform has been a very useful resource.

Thank you so much. My EE journey has been quite nerve wracking.

I'm going to use DHL as advised to send my passport. But seeing as I'm currently in the US I'm guessing I'll have to send my passport to a visa application office here in the States. The letter doesn't state where to address the DHL though...

Any pointers?

In any case, I wish everybody on this journey the best of luck.

I pray it works out well for everyone.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole:
Hey! Fancy meeting you here all the way from the other missionary thread. lol!
Well, I am yet to start an application......still sitting on the fence.
Anyway, we do not evaluate our credentials through WES. its done through MCC Canada. Check out their site for info. www.mcc.ca
Thus far, i have gathered the following info as regards an MBBS ECA.
1)open an account on www.physiciansapply.ca a $278 non-refundable fee is charged.
2)request for a source verification (svr) of your qualification on the physicians apply site (this is done through ECFMG). It costs $157.
3)Send MCC a copy of your mbbs degree and a cover letter (downloaded from your physicians apply account) via courier.
4)2-3 working days after receiving no. 3, ECFMG sends a request for a source verification of your degree to your school via regular mail (with a copy of your degree, a form to be filled and a pre-addressed envelope). If the school does not respond within 60 days, they will send another request to the school. At this point you can opt for a courier delivery to your school. They will only repeat this step 4 up to a maximum of 3 times.
5)ECFMG responds to your school and processes your verification within 20 working days and then you can proceed to step 6.
6)Request for an ECA from MCC. this would cost $102 and would take 21 working days to process.
7)Pay a courier fee for delivery of your ECA to Nigeria (about $140).
Note that step 2 may take as long as 100 days or more seeing as most Nigerian schools claim not to receive this mail. To speed up your process, you wanna keep tabs on your school right after ecfmg requests for a source verification and ensure they check their mail and then you pay for a courier delivery back to ecfmg.

Hi. did you get another debit on your account after friday? cos some peeps made online transactions with gtb cards on friday and were charged 199.9 to 1 usd only to be debited on monday for an extra amount bringing the charge to about 300. Crazy commercial banks.

The rate has dropped now. I made a payment on Friday and the rate used was N146/1CAD. Used a GTB card.

Hi all.
damsell, sorry about the angel baby. God will give you double by .
Lady G, yea after you buy your tickets, just log onto the airline's site yourself and with your ticket no or confirmation number you can access your info. At that point, you can edit the contact information...phone no(local and intl) as well as email address. Unfortunately wakanow and some other 9ja ticketting agents leave their own contact info on the passenger's contact, so whenever there is a change in the itinerary, the notification goes to them and we all know how that ends up.
Sorry about the change in yours. welcome back.

thanks. you are far too kiind.
dupyshoo:
I believe letter of reference from previous employer you obtained just before you left or after you left the company should be valid. The aim of the reference letter is to verify one's job experience and duration of the job.

This is what CIC says about PCC from countries you do not live any more "For countries in which the applicant no longer lives, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the client lived in that country."
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 12:42pm On Feb 24, 2016
hi dupyshoo. pls as regards letter of reference from previous employers. is there a time limit to its validity as regards EE applications? Can it be dated months in advance of an EE application? Same question for a PCC from a country one formerly lived in but is not presently resident in. Thanks.
dupyshoo:
Mine was addressed to " To whom it may concern"
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 2:42pm On Feb 23, 2016
Thanks. You have been quite helpful.
JesusDWay:
1) There should still be someone there who can sign(not write, you should be the one to compose the letter for them and ensure its like 70% similar in job details with the corresponding NOC) for you. If they are not willing, your former supervisor can still sign for you but he will state it that he's no longer there but can then attach a copy of his business card then to show the company's logo.

2) Don't exactly know about this

3) The delay is mostly from your school's end so, that's where you really need to work on. I think the cost is over 600CAD, if not close to a 1k sef. Go their website and find things out for yourself - www.mcc.ca

4) If not 100% of the time, a Nigerian Masters Degree usually gets evaluated as equivalent of a Canadian masters so, there's no question of two certificates coming in. The Masters is higher than the 2certificates thing and fetches you more marks.

5) Your medical degree usually is evaluated as Doctor of Medicine which is the equivalent of a Canadian Masters Degree and that's what you will choose as the level of your qualification I.e Masters, when filling your EE profile after you must have gotten the evaluation done.
TravelRe: Canadian Express Entry/federal Skilled Workers Program Connect Here by vcole: 11:23am On Feb 22, 2016
hi. if you check the first page of this thread it'll give you a detailed step by step process of how the EE works. you can go through it and follow the links. it really helps clear things up.
pls how long did it take to get the board to evaluate your qualifications?
youseuph:
Advise pls! How do I go about the Canadian express entry.

I am a pharmacist same as my wife with an Msc in public health. I have gotten my documents evaluated by the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada (towards writing their certification exams). But I think I shld give express entry a try. Useful information will be highly appreciated.

Hi. new to this thread. finally read all the pages. @zandora congrats on your job. apparently heaven heard your rant the other day. @jesusDway @irondome and all who contribute meaningfully to this thread, big ups!
Please i have a few questions to anyone with info.
1)As regards the letter of reference from previous employers as proof of w/e......what happens in a situation where your supervisor at a previous place of work no longer works there?
2)PCC from the UK, i know zandora and/or someone else posted a link for that but i honestly can't remember the exact page. if you do not mind, could you help with info on how to get a PCC from the Uk as well as estimated cost and an estimate of how long it would take?
3)Any info on Nigerian trained medical docs who have done their ECA from MCC? how long did the process take? any pointers as to how i can fast track or help the process along? how much did it cost?
4)As regards the evaluation of your highest qualification...now if Mrs X evaluates only her MSc. What would her points be on the CRS skill transferability section?.....would she fall under the section of "Two or more post-secondary program credentials AND at least one of these credentials was issued on completion of a post-secondary program of three years or longer" with a maximum obtainable score of 50? OR under the section of "Post-secondary program credential of one year or longer" with a maximum obtainable score of 25?
5)Same question no. 4 above for a medical doctor.
Thanks in anticipation.

Am safely back from my journey, all thanks to God almighty. none of the Cbp was interested in my huge baby bump, they just had my passport stamped in. had my baby after 24 hrs i arrived my destination, Lloyminster Alberta, it was indeed a miracle birth. God decided to bring the baby out at 37 weeks at Praire north hospital at Lloydminster, the nurses and doctors were good and the hospital is also good. spent about 7000cad for all the hospital bills. the only aspect i didnt like is the issue of not giving free health card and social insurance number until d child is 18yrs where he or she can apply for both personally except one of d parent is atleast resident in Canada. hotstepper please get well soon and analyse that for us as you promised.

She should have requested for the expired passport with the wrong date of birth and returned it to immigration and gotten an affidavit. However, the issue will be that she had gone on to secure visas with that passport as well as possibly embarked on trips with it......this is actually an offence but being that shes in her 60s she may be able to get a nice NIS personnel to assist in her getting the affidavit
JayJay0211:
Good evening, everybody. My mom's UK Visit Visa Application was rejected due to DIFFERENCE in Date of Birth. Her 2nd to the last passport had 10/11 instead of 11/10 (10th November instead of 11th October) while her other previous passports and the current passport have the 11th October date on them. The ECO called to interview her before the rejection to ask why she had 2 dates of birth and she told them she was unaware of the error on her expired passport and the ECO told her to get a covering letter from Immigration the next day to substantiate her claim of error. Immigration however told her they can only write when the error passport is returned and she submitted a sworn affidavit the next day instead attesting to the 11th October date as her true D of B and that the other date was an error of transposition. My dad's protocol personnel (when he was a Director in a Govt Agency) always filled forms for us to sign. Unfortunately, my mom didnt notice the error until it was mentioned on the rejection letter. Most unfortunately, she had an expired UK Visit Visa as well as an expired Chinese Visa on the error date of birth, which the rejection letter also pointed out. The Rejection Letter said UKVI was unable to ascertain her true identity as the reason for the rejection. Unfortunately, the D of B was an honest mistake as she has no incentive or motive to choose a different D of B now in her 60s. Please advise on what to do now. Thank you in anticipation.

i doubt yours was a fluke. i think another mom also got the 23kg x 2 bags for her infant after you. for this my friend, she even saw the extra allowance on her reservation online but at the baggage drop no show. the issue may be the departure airport. i suppose since united is more of a "houston" airline just as Delta is an "atlanta" airline and american airlines is a "dallas" airline, the houston airport staff are generally more informed on these policy changes especially when its a recently reviewed one. she was departing from minnesota.
