you just mirrored my own thoughts too oh. nomanicole: @Blaize777 we thank God for her safe arrival..my bestie gave birth to her daughter last year in naija and she weighed 2Kg.she is 7months today eating like an adult...ur baby will be fine in a short time, b4 the week runs out by God's grace.and for the bills, try not to worry so much,.ask for discounts. In the end it might be something u can just pay at once.
@all, I was thinking, with this new trend of refusing visas because of low birth fees...e.g for those that used MHIS was it what you presented when you applied for the visa initially? Or did u apply with a hospital with higher fees then switched?trying to make sense of this new trend. Cost they might have filled in so so hospital on their system then you present cheaper receipts completely different from what you told them you had as budget. Was just thinking...ESP if the price on the receipt you gave them is much lower than what u initially said you were going to spend(50% lower)..so they come up with diff excuses that it is too cheap and you must've used govt funds...was just thinking oh! Because if you presented MHIS initially and you were granted a visa based on that...you have a case cause I want to believe they went thru the hospital's contract before issuing the visa and the price was stated there. |

Ajujuju2: Sweety induction itself isnt really a bad thing. And it also depends on a couple of things: A) how well your body receives d drug pitocin B) how ready the baby is to come C) doctors timing
In Dr F's case he suggests it bcz most moms will want him to attend d delivery and he cant b there for all moms bcz his practise has three or four doctors on rotation.
However having said that, in most cases an induction leads to CS depending on the 3 factors listed above.
U could do d following A) wait for labour to start on its own B) pray for speedy delivery C) read up on induction
@chloe7 I hail o Bolded statement is untrue. the following link is just one of many scientific studies done on inductions that debunks the myth of inductions increasing the rate of c sections. https://drjengunter./2014/05/04/rocking-delivery-dogma-induction-of-labor-doesnt-increase-c-section-rate/ |

Just to clear things up a lil. induction of labour. first step to this is to ripen the cervix. basically get it to start dilating first before the proper induction starts. "Medicolegally" a pregnant woman can get induced at a gestational age of 39 completed weeks. She can request to do this for personal reasons such as she wants someone to be present at delivery or she wants a particular birth date for her child, etc. Her ob/gyn can choose to do this if on a medical assessment the preggie meets the requirements for induction and the ob/gyn believes that it is better to bring the baby out now than to wait for 40 weeks or post date e.g. such as in big babies from preggies with diabetes, preggie induced hypertension, etc etc Some preggies are induced before 39 weeks for medical reasons too. Bottom line as @feddy27 said b4, discuss with your ob/gyn what options are available to you and what you would prefer. remember, every pregnancy is different and every woman is different. what works for A may not work for B. More info can be found on www.google.com feddy27: Point of correction, he does not like to induce. I used him and I give him 5 stars! Now the thing is this, as a FTM be open minded about decisions and trust your healthcare provider. We had a discussion and he asked if he should help me peradventure I get to 39 wks and labor has not started. I gladly said yes because truth is you have not given birth before! I was also a first time mum and I chose to trust his expertise. also, i wanted him to take my delivery and the only way I could guarantee that was either by being induced or opting for CS. I silently prayed for labor not be start until 39 weeks and I strolled to the hospital and the process started. That birthing experience was one of the best in my life! he managed the entire process so well that my granma was very impressed!!! She still talks about it till date...lol. I'm sure the reason he suggests induction is because as a first time mum, tension starts brewing after 40wks and labor is no where. Like they always say too, labor takes time for FTM. so to prevent that anxiety and getting baby distressed, get it down at the right time. I bet you, you will come back to testify. Word of caution: If you accept the induction, take epidural so that your labor will progress smoothly without aches and pains. Also keep your mind at rest. Load your phone or wateva device with music and videos. Lounge all thru and wen its time, bring forth your baby. You are a first time mum! trust your doctor *hugs* <speaking from my own experience> favouredmum: @Feddy27, I don't totally agree with you. As a FTM, I tink its best one waits till at least 40wiks b4 induction can take place cos I want to believe the chances of its success is higher from 40wiks (I might be wrong dou). I used Dr. E and she told me categorically at 40wiks dat she won't induce me because my cervix wasn't ready and that as a FTM, it was expected. However, I am glad she didn't because I went into labour on my own at 40wiks and 4 days and we found out my baby was in a posterior position. If I had insisted on induction and taken epidural immediately the process started, that wouldn't have been noticed on time. feddy27: Well, everyone with their experience. Before the induction, he checks to know everything is in place. For me sha, I enjoyed the process and this time around too, I'm towing the same path; if baby does not come out and I'm 39wks, we are bringing him/her out It keeps my sanity in place and I don't have to be anxious |

Dabira19: Good morning NLanders. Pls if I intend changing my hospital, but yet to go for visa interview; wld I notify them before the interview or after? Thanks @all Is the hospital in the same state? Anyway fill a new ds160 form with the new doctor/hospital contact information. Submit it and get the confirmation page. Call the US consulate and explain that you had to modify some information on your earlier form and would like to change the ds160 number on your application/cgi page. Also ask if this would reflect a change on your appointment booking as well (I can't remember if it does). They would ask you to send an email with a scanned copy of your passport biodata page and new ds160 confirmation page and call them back after you do. It'll take about 48 hrs to change to the new ds160 number after this. |

Congrats superchi! and Rebe superchi: My CRS points today is 1020! My Saskatschewan nomination gave additional 600 points. If you can apply to this program, you are home and try for CIC application submission because only Upfront Medical and Police Clearance Cert are the two documents to add. It very tasking and voluminous especially when you work. They ask for all the docs you'll need for CIC in case get ITA. Guys, its not been easy. The first thing I (and wifey) did was WES (June, 2015), next we did was IELTS (July), next created EE profile (Sep 2015, CRS 420), and in Jan 2016 applied SAKS Provincial nominee. Nominated this May 2016. My application has a total of 5 people. This program helped get every documents I'll ever need in place, even the ones I issued abroad I've gotten them all. Patience is all I need for the next phase (post ITA). This blog has been very instrumental. I got most of the information I wanted here and I shall continue to give back here. Thanks y'all Rebe: . Congratulations!!! Got mine too yesterday. God be praised! Could you share the address of where you will be sending your passport to in Accra? @munageez, please kindly share the blog and your experience and timeline thus far with getting your BC nursing license. So much paucity of info for 9ja health workers, i'm sure a lot of people would appreciate. @hotstepper, i thought you live in Toronto already?? Hotstepper: Hello people. Hope everyone is doing well. Plz oo how do I create a profile account for express entry? Also, does anyone know any province that's still open for nominee program. Thank you |

Thank you. This clears it up a whole lot. dupyshoo: IRCC does not even require bank statements. To be specific, see the quote below for what is required
"If you are applying for permanent residence in Canada, you must provide an official letter issued by your financial institution indicating your financial profile. This must:
list of all your bank (chequing and savings) and investment accounts, the account numbers, dates each account was opened and the balance of each account over the past six months, list all outstanding debts, such as credit cards and loans, be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution, and include your name and the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address)."
In my own opinion, Mr A's POF is good to go as we are not expected to keep the money in the account from the start of the 6 months. A gradual build up of the amount is fine. You are however required to have the whole amount as your current balance on your submission date. I did not have the whole amount for the 6 months and my application was approved.
The general belief is that IRCC wants to see the average balance over 6 months period to be sure you did not borrow the money. Difference of more than 20-25% between the average balance and the current balance will be suspicious. It will be assumed one deposited a huge sum after getting ITA. Some applications have been rejected because of this. In order to disprove this and to be on the safe side, it is better to explain the huge difference, if there is any, between the avg. bal and current bal. |

Please could you clarify this pof thing? does cic require a minimum 6 months bank statement with each month (of these 6 months) showing a minimum balance of $18,617 (hypothetical family of 3). Or does cic require a minimum 6 months bank statement showing a closing minimum balance of $18,617? For example, Mr A is the principal applicant of aforementioned family of 3, has 6 months current account statement showing regular inflow and outflow and closing balance of said amount. At month 1, closing balance was $13k, month 2, 15k, month 3,12k, month 4,16k, month 5, 18k, month 6, 19k. Is Mr A's POF eligible? JesusDWay: I know someone who did fixed deposit just 2days before submitting her docs and she was given. She however submitted other things like statement of her salary account and wrote a letter of explanation. Like i said earlier, the 6months thing is mostly for savings and current account, not investment stuffs like FD and TB or Gift Deed. Be Jubilant please. what are your crs scores if you go with the bachelors degree only? iphie25: Yes I do....unfortunately WES wont even allow me to be jubilant for a sec saw your post on the other forum. you can delete that by clicking on your moniker and scrolling through your posts and deleting that particular one. I really am not sure as to what the best way to handle this is, but I think that you would want to know first of all, how long it takes to get your passport back after sending it in for the COPR at both the Accra office and the Ottawa office. The VO with the faster turn around choice should be your best bet. have you delivered already? If you haven't then you will have to consider an extension to your current trip as long as you would not be exceeding a 6 months' stay. The extra duration is to allow you get your passport back. However, i believe that it is possible to get an ETC for yourself to return to Nigeria if the need arises. But you would have to figure out if you have a safe return delivery address for your passport if you do choose to use the Ottawa office as I believe they would be returning your passport to a US address. As regards your baby's international passport, you can explore the possibility of notarizing your passport and your us visa page now before you send it in for the copr. just in case. also, if you have your driver's license as another photographic ID, it may come in handy as well. You have about 2 months till you leave the states, i do not think it will take 2 months to get your passport back from a visa office, although others with first hand experience can chip in. these are my thoughts. tktgal: Hello All, Please Im new to this forum and I need suggestions on a particular situation bothering me. My husband and I just got PPR request for passport for visa issuance from the Canadian Embassy, after a very long wait . We had taken our minds off it n assumed it was refused without communication . At the moment, I am in the US for childbirth . Due to return to Nigeria mid June. We have been given 30days to respond with our police certificate from the UK and also to send our passports for the visas. My own take on it is for my husband to go ahead to process his since he is the primary applicant and inform the embassy that I am not in the country and will send mine when I get back. Another suggestion we got was to notarise a photocopy of my passport and keep for my use here in the US while I send my original to the Canadian Embassy In Accra or to my husband. I am not comfortable with these options because I dont want to get stranded here waiting for my passport when its time to return to Nigeria. Also I need to process the baby documents and its not certain that I will be allowed to notarise as a non-resident of the US. Considering the timeline we have been given, How can we ensure this application is not cancelled. Please anyone who has a suggestion on how best to handle this. |

how was the letter sent to the applicant? in this case, a phone call may be necessary to ensure that the documents sent are not received by the officer after the 30 days deadline. she can go ahead to submit via a case specific inquiry while confirming any other means by which the additional documents should be sent.
