kolaish: Big thank you @customstreet. I was able to get 2m units of Unity Bank @ 1.07 on Thursday due to your call last week. I sold this morning @185k.
Amount invested - N2,140,000. Amount realized - N3,700,000. Amount Gain after deducting charges - N1,500,000 after just one week
I have to sell now because I am a slender person and I don’t have the strength to struggle when the exit door is so narrow . Not bad though ... But, some folks dey cashout 500% for some stocks oo |

yMcy56: Pastor, you're still in UNITY? The arrangement is a merger anyway, not buyout They're buying major stake. And, has gone far with the deal. Considering their current OS, unity should go back to it's N5 reconstruction price |

If Providus buys unitybank anything less than N5, ... they cheated unity, cause unitybank was last listed at N5 after the reconstruction that brought the over bloated UNITYBNK OS to 11billion |

emmanuelewumi: If they list at N100, how will Dangote Sugar be N70.
Dangote Sugar is the new Dangote Foods. It is Dangote Sugar that metamorphosed to Dangote Foods My concern is how much Dangfood mkt capitalization would be las las Can sugar challenge bua in that area? Bua has more than N3trillion |

yMcy56: What happened is most likely not your note comparison on Caverton........but I suspected TRANSCORP as one of the causes......
Loco has made lots of wrong moves on Transcorp since when it was trading at below N1 and must have been painful to him.
He was saying with almost all certainty that Transcorp won't move anywhere, he pulled out and went to Caverton.......just for Transcorp to make U-turn and started racing up......
This market can't be predicted with confidence, it can rubbish some theories sometimes, FA/TA and even the analysis of the experts.
Transcorp is again on full bid @6.38 today...... Hmmm !! No one accurately predict the mkt oo. I sold my TRANSCORP around N3.50, thinking it may go down. But thank that i bought DANGSUGAR immediately with the fund. |

Shalom428: SLEEP ON ( Meaning : Delay making a decision on something until the following day )
SLEEP ON ( Meaning : Fail to notice the excellence of someone or something )
Investment principles, strategics and objectives differs but I don't think any discerning investor should sleep on Dangfoods.
I made that post a few days ago, those that got the message and acted on it are smiling now.
FOLLOW THE MONEY

Streetinvestor2: Imagine if alhaji decide to maintain 1 for 1 from sugar to Dan food .Then list Dan food to like #80 and above. Na to dey put alhaji for prayer every morning be that, lol According to oga Emma, dangfood can challenge buafood with almost the same number of outstanding shares, but do you think alhaji will challenge bua food that's ... more than 2 trillion capitalization? Sugar and Nascon are less than 600 billion, you know ... |

yMcy56: Thanks so much for this heads up. God bless you.
I've also been of opinion that Dangsugar will benefit much more in this merger. I'd expected the merger to favour Dangsugar more. How can NASCON be the one giving direction to the merger? Doesn't sound fair on Dangsugar shareholders in my opinion.
Las las, we will know the real deal when official mail on merger arrangement is out. Of course, common sense has it that it's very wrong for NASCON with less than N100 billion capitalization and less than 3 billion outstanding shares to lead Dangsugar that's flying with almost N500 billion cap. and more than 10 billion O.S |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by veecovee: 10:38pm On Aug 06, 2023 |
customstreet: To me, I am looking and permutating at the following directions
1. One for one, there post DangoteFood O/S would be less than 20billion outstanding shares 2. One for two, there post DangoteFood outstanding shares would be less than 10billion 3. One for three, there post listing outstanding number of shares would be less than 8billion
When you look at every of Alhaji companies, he always prefer to have a bloated Outstanding number of shares which to me would be in the range of 15b-22b in this case of DangoteFood.
The purpose of this consolidation is to retain number one wealthiest person in Africa. All his three merging companies is not up to BUAfood market capitalization and his intention is to dislodge BUAfood. If we go by his intention, then the number of shares must be equal or greater than 18billion of BUAfood post listing and secondly, the market price must be equal or greater than the current market price of BUA food. If he listed the new company say at N100, then there is high probability that the company share price would go north in the near term just to dislodge BUAfood
Looking at other company owned by Alhaji, and looking at what he did in the past when
1. He sold Dangoteflour to Olam. It was a jackpot because many people had information that Olam would pay N24+ per share when Dangoteflour was trading at less than N15. I believe the same jackpot will occur this time around
2. When he bought over the dying BCC Plc in 2010. The two companies merged and formed Dangote cement Plc. They did a share swap of 1 for every 2 for every BCC shareholders. The pre listing price was N67.50 and the new company was subsequently listed at N135
If I permutate that DangoteFood would be listed at Say N100, then the pre-listing price of each of the merging companies would be close to N50 per share if we assumed what he did with BCC shareholders
To cut the long story short, the options that is more realistic are option one and two with option two been the least and option one been the most
We shall witness a robust share swaps in this scheme that would make everybody smile to the bank
This is my own personal opinion. Kudos !! You are a guru Infact, after my own analysis, I think it's better to buy sugar now that it's selling N4 less than NASCON, cause both of them might be converted at the same price |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by veecovee: 5:10pm On Aug 06, 2023 |
customstreet: I was not the one that derived the price but that I am only privileged to have those information because of my connection to some people in the industry Thanks alot, but at what ratio to NASCON do you think the conversion will be |

onegentleguy: There has been a reoccurance of mergers/aquisation or takeover/buyout and follow-up delisting of some quoted companies on the NSE bourse.
Over the yrs, the likes of NBC, BAGCO, IHS, CAPPA & D'ALBERTO, OASIS INSURANCE, CRUSADER INSURANCE, 7-UP, ASHAKA CEMENT, AVON CROWN CAPS, DIAMOND BANK, NEWREST ASL, DANGOTE FLOUR, CONTINENTAL RE, 1ST ALUMINIUM and most recently AG LEVENTIS to mention just a few, have either undergone a merger, aquisation or takeover/buyout. ...with the last 6 all brokered in less than a year !! However, I think we might see a few more in the not-so-distant future.
Given the current position of their financial print(balance sheet position in view) in relation to their present equity prices, the following coys could be future candidates for a merger, aquisation or take over/buy out:
NEIMETH PHARMACEUTICALS, CHAMS, FO, GLAXOSMITHKLINE NIG, COURTVILLE, TRANEX(trans-nationwide express), UNIONDAC, PZ and BERGER PAINTS PLC.
Why?
1st off, is to ascertain if there are doubts surrounding the survival of these companies, so one doesn't lose their money taking(early) positions in them. And next, is to look in on their current earnings capacity, then gauge its relative sustainability over time.
On that line, keeping a tag on their OHLSONS O-SCORE(a key financial tool used to forecast if a company could go bankrupt), I see them remaining as a going concern. ...which makes them attractive candidates for 'external forces'(investors) who could bid to take them on at a cheap and turn them around.
...and using the EPP(earnings persistence approach: a valuation technique used to predict how often the earnings return of a coy will likely continue to reoccur over time after raking-off risk), I see a higher probability that any take over/buy out(should they occur) will be priced @ great premiums to their current market prices. With some, at potential premiums of near 105% ROI !!
I particularly like the 1st 5.
On a side note, a few coys in the financial services sector, particularly the INSURANCE segment 'could also be up for grabs'... so watch that space !!
CAVEAT: This piece is only intended to look at quoted coys with chances of a merger, aquisation or takeover/buy out. ...it is NO licence to any sought of recommendation !!
My advise: Always do well to follow ur instinct. Hmmmm !! It came to past after 4 years ... mean GSK |
