TV/Movies › Re: Any "heroes, Kyle Xy, Monk Or Joan Of Arcadia" Fans? by vescucci(m): 9:11am On Aug 30, 2007
Whooo. i didn't know u fellas had a thing going on in here! And I scampering for stuff to say.

House is my younger brother's turf. That's understandable, he's a nerd and always loves stuff to stimulate his senses. Me? Not a geek but not so secure in that thought (that's why I never wear my glasses).

Lost got lost as Spikyn rightly said earlier. The plot was bound to Bleep up (sorry). Kinda like the perverted version of Gilligan's Island which was great BTW.

Monk is definitely a show I'd like to watch with my significant other on a rainy day, all snuggled up, 'as snug as a bug in a rug' as Stephen King would say. Autism stricken Adrian can always make you think of the world in a better way.

24 is a show my younger brother loved so much. I was like what's the big deal with this show and ended up liking it more.

I haven't heard of Joan of Arcadia, though I saw a movie Joan of Arc. If it has anything to do with that movie, then I think it will be tough going for them to stretch that story into any reasonable length without being boring.

Grey's Anatomy made way too much waves. As for iice not liking Meredith, well I think the freaking hospital is named after her mother. I don't have a problem with her, but I have always loved the sexual tension she bottles up inside. Sandra Oh's character is crazier than any one else's. All in all, it's cool.

Angel's David Boreanaz kicks ass, but he seems to be very shy in real life. I saw him on View, a girl power show, (I don't know what's wrong with me) and he looked like he couldn't light a firecracker with a flame thrower. a father already and probably more coming disqualies all em raunchy females, lol.

I've been typn this and that all day, I think I'll call it quits.

That's all folks, have a nice day, y'all!

That's just too bad. I seem to be in a world of my own. Taken at least is a point of convergence for us. Though I love it for more reasons than one. You mentioned before that you liked Taken. Anyway nobody else is talkin'. It there a muting spell cast that I seem to have escaped? Methinks me might not be safe for long. What do you have to say about Luc Besson anyway? This might be shortest post ever. let's see,

I think what CJ wanted to ask is how to post a topic. It is quite clear you're a rookie on this site and ur first post seems to be the one you just posted here. I'm sure if u play around a little more you'll figure it out. Basically you're supposed to choose a category at the home page. and when you're in it click send topic or something like that and you're all set.

iice, what's up? Speaking of Antonio, I bear very good news. My much anticipated collaboration between him and QT might be in the offing, with the purported Sin City 2, up coming somewhere around 2009. It's so far somewhat a rumour, but we all know how rumours sorta bite you in the ass if you don't believe them. He's also said to be linked with a fourth shrek movie somewhere in 2010 and a movie dedicated to his character in shrek, Puss in Boots also in 2010 and Shrek the Halls this year. Memoirs of Hadrian, My mom's new boyfriend and My beautiful mistake are all rumoured to be events of next year. It's hard to imagine all these films seeing the light of day. But I personally will only like to see him in Sin City 2, Puss in Boots and maybe Memoirs of Hadrian (has a nice ring to it).

Well that's all that's going on in the grapevine.

My last post seems to be something else. I think i might be in a world of my own. Too bad. Anyways here's something that everybody can relate to. It is very hard for me to think of a director that never seems to get it wrong. One of such apart from QT whom y'all know is Luc Besson. You know the french dude. Favorite movie of his was this french flick, Banlieu 13, which he produced. I was happy the set and language were both french, escaping the monotony of the American entertainment industry. Though he has worked with people on some hollywood (The Transporter-as a writer, Taxi-as God knows what). I love the guy, basic.

I'm not the kind of person that is accustomed to keeping it short, but there's no way I can spill my mind without increasing my b.p. (in a bad way, not the same way you feel when you see your chic) I hate Nigerian movies except for some very few ones made by Mainframe and one Ogidan guy. also heard that this Novia fella is doing quite good. They're not really my thing, my interest is purely patriotic. In four words, Nollywood is f**ked up!
TV/Movies › Re: Does Any1 Share My Passion 4 Antonio Banderas? by vescucci(m): 9:28am On Aug 29, 2007
Oh man. Musta struck a nerve! Antonio Banderas is a Spaniard of course, that was just a slip of the brain. I even heard that he wanted to be a footballer when he was younger and gave up due to an injury or something. He's said to be a Madrid fan till date. Anyways, I think his marriage to Melanie should really be celebrated because it's like a culture for actors and actresses to get hitched to double their fame only to break up to look for more important or famous (or rich) partners. When I said it was an error to cast him for 13th warrior, I was only referring to the casting crew and not to his own performance which was splendid by any measure. I hope we're cool, lol.

Now to appease iice. George Clooney too was great given his resources to act a demented guy like his role demanded. But don't you think Antonio would have been great to act a crazed guy who is just barely hanging to his spent sanity, gun-totting and bashing fella having a ball killing (massacring is better) a horde of them blood-suckin' bastards. And if he runs out of slugs, he starts to kick their collective ass bashing off heads, kickin skulls in and pounding the tissue off faces and generally having a field day. And speaking of day, when it finally comes he sighs thus 'oh well, you can't be in heaven forever' (more like hell to me). lol. I hope I've been humorous enough to appease you, lil' mama. Cuz my mother tells me if you're trying to be funny, better get it right the first time or the joke's gonna be on you (in other words you're being stupid)

C y'all

How are y'all doing?
I was thinking yesterday of what to say today and I realised that this topic is beginning to get redundant, don't y'all think so? Now here's what we'll do. What do you guys say if we turn it up or down or even sideways a notch. Here's what we'll do. How about we talk about sitcoms and sci-fi series and series in general. That, I trust opens up a whole new vista of stuff to talk about. Am I right or am I right? Okay to open up shop I'll give y'all some food for thought. I wanna know what you guys think about the dissolution of the 'Friends' Do you think it's too soon or do you think they've pushed their luck so far. how about Grey's anatomy, is it over-rated or what? One of my favorites, Medium, just tell me what you think about that. I personally think Patricia Arquette is a octagonal peg in an octagonal hole. Considering that her career has not been hitherto inspiring, I just love her in Medium. You'd think somebody casted a film for her and not casting her for the show.

Now on to what I'm addicted to most, Star Trek, voyager to be precise. Woo! That subject feels like talking about chocolate. I hope at least one of y'all will have some iota of interest in that show. I used to like 'the next generation' because they have very interesting characters, Data and Lt. Worf being the most interesting, Deep Space Nine is cool too but things are too peaceful around there for my liking. I guess they can't afford to have anything happen to the space station as that will Bleep up (sorry) the longevity of the story, cuz after all it is stationary, the space station that is. The new one, Enterprise, didn't really work for me, I don't know why, but it's just like that. The other Gene Roddenberry project, Earth: Final conflict gets a five out of five from me. Pure genius, that guy.

I usually read my text again before posting. Reading back on what I've written now, it all makes sense to me, but I hope that it's not all gibberish to you guys. If it is, then just pretend as if I didn't post anything today.

Tomorrow's in like seven hours from now, I'll see y'all nine hours into it. You guys take it easy.

Oh it's definitely great to hear from you guys and i's even better for me to be back after those 3 days in limbo. Unfortunately I'm having major problems with the wireless connections settings on my laptop so here I am using my friend's. It's not like before and I don't want him to think I'm addicted to this site. He even threatened to post some crazy stuff about me and about iice 'stealing me from him' as I don't come to his office again. Enough of all that digression. How are y'all doing, BTW. akin007 and iice it's very nice to hear from you. I don't know why the Ladykillers has such an effect on me but I guess it's different strokes for different folks. iice I envy you tremendously for seeing that movie. I'm still waiting for Nu Metro to start showing it. But if I have to wait too long, I'll result to our friendly neighbourhood bootleggers. To make a short story even shorter, I agree with essentially everything y'all said, especially akin007. That explanation about Casino Royale being Ian Fleming's first book makes a lot of sense but I'm sure it's just a coincidence and that's not why Craig was such gorilla. Not that he's bad or anything, I just hate to see the 007 culture ruined. So much for a short story! I'll see you guys tomorrow, huh?
TV/Movies › Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(op): 3:14pm On Aug 23, 2007
Now that was a great review from someone I suspect is a great reviewer! All hail Spikyn! Many of your conclusions are very similar to mine. And I love it when that happens. Might I be correct to say that you are a gigantic fan of our noble knight, Sir Hopkins? Solely because of you I'll make a point of seeing Fracture before long.

iice doesn't need to be told that she's missed. And I have to wait 3 torturous days to see what she's got to say (as I don't come to work Fridays and weekends and thus no wireless connection and thus no surfing and thus no reading of posts by a certain iice and Co.)

I don't really think the Farelly brother's flick (O brother where art thou) really dampened the Ladykillers' appeal. Maybe the box office ratings but definitely not the appeal. The remake of that old idea was absolutely refreshing (as if I had any brains or was even alive then).

Speaking of 007, what do you guys think of David Craig? I think he's great, sexy and all that but also he's toooo macho to be slick. I mean a secret agent, especially the MI5 and 6 types have to be very slippery and cunning. David Craig can simply not do this easily. He's like the incredible hulk (when he's transformed trying to play golf. He'll probably be only able to make Par 454371260489 (I'm sorry I ain't got much respect for numbers). Check out his chase of that African spy in the beginning of Casino Royale. Talk about brute force. If Pierce was involved they'd probably make him escape and Pierce will catch up to him in a hotel in Tahiti.

sojioguns, how're ya doin? The backgrounds of directors doesn't really matter. For instance some don't have any qualifications and really make it in the world of directing (probably by being already good actors). And the vast majority could excel in school and be, for instance, too booky and unexperimental to appeal to anybody. for instance Robert Ludlum had his beginnings in Theatre, and how he transformed to become the master (undisputed if I might add) of the espionage genre beats me till forever. Michael Mann and all others are not bad or anything but I'd have to be frank, you can't judge a director by only a few films. They have to be consistent, not perfect, but consistent. But it all boils down to the almighty personal choices, doesn't it? See ya later

iice, I'd really like you to answer your own questions already. Typical of girls to wet your appetite only to leave you hanging, lol. Whassup, akin007 and bgees.

Why, isn't that cute? Everybody loves Banderas. Poor latino! He must have trouble with his life. What, with all the ladies scampering for some sort of acknowledgement from the guy. If a GUY like akin007 loves the guy, what will the poor lady folk do, huh? The guy's definitely lovable, rugged and dashing. His best performance for me was in this film where he was portraying 'twin' brothers (one was named Art and the other I forget) I think Assassins and 13th warrior were his second best performances (though the people who casted him for that film bleeped up, cuz he's Mexican playing an Arab, sloppy, huh?). His love scenes were terrific with Jolie and Hayek(never wanna watch those scenes with my old man) Anyways akin007, if you love Banderas, be sure that you're among like 2184712587024 people who do(I guess there aren't that many people alive). I think he was freaking supposed to play George Clooney's role in From dusk till dawn (Clooney was great, but Antonio would have been greater). I still await the day when QT will collabo with Antonio. I still got my life ahead of me to wait, just don't make me wait too long.

Whoa you guys seem to be net junkies. Early ones for that matter. I was just posting my reply for today and whoa! you fellas have posted stuff already. Damn, y'all are too much. I see we've got somebody new (who at last shares my view of classics, Hepburn is really pretty, don't u think?). Hiya, Spikyn! I see you happen to like directors who have something to do with The Bourne Trilogy, i.e. Doug Liman and Paul Greengrass (wonder what other type off grass there were). With akin007's reply I guess my puzzlement is laid to rest about his reading and stuff. Spikyn, what's your take on the Adam of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock? And have you seen Lassie, Gone with the wind(I guess you must have). See y'all later? Like in five minutes I guess, at the rate we're going.
TV/Movies › Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(op): 8:48am On Aug 22, 2007
Whoa, I see you fellas have been real busy without me. I don't even know where to start. Nice to know iice is cool with me, lol. I'm sure I mentioned Peter Jackson in my almighty list of seven. His fatherly appearance appeals to me (I still got a father though), what, with the beard and all. Viggo Mortensen has always seemed to me to be out of this world. I like the way he doesn't talk too much in his roles. Like the ones he did with Sigourney Weaver (even though it was a love story), and Syl Stallone and of course Hidalgo. Nice guy, kinda like Steven Segal.

Who likes happy ending anymore anyway, especially in action movies. I can appreciate happy endings in love stories because the parties involved usually deserve to be together (if they don't end up together, at least one of em should bite the dust) But kick-ass films like The Hannibal series shouldn't have happy endings (also you can hope for another addition to the series). It's weird that akin007 couldn't find Thomas Harris' books(silence of the lambs), I have got everything he wrote, Red Dragon, Hannibal, Black Monday and the culprit, SOTL. Isn't it weird that the guy wrote only about this Hannibal guy, maybe he's been dreaming about him for ages. take into consideration that his books are 5 years at least in between. The first Black Monday being in the late 70's or early 80's I think, and Hannibal 200?

I read as much as i watch movies, because I think books can be more stimulating sometimes and besides some books can simply not be made into movies. Ideas by my favorite author (RIP) Ludlum can not be easily adapted into films cuz he has a knack for world domination plots and his characters are always popping up over the globe (His favorite places seem to be Geneva and Paris) If akin007 is an ardent fan of the literary world as I think he is, then we have a lot to talk about.

Talking about graphic novels, Frank Miller is definitely the king of the genre as I'm sure that iice will attest to. His work was reason for Sin City being my second favorite movie of all time. (Ladykillers is my first, most people are surprised by that, but I thought Tom hanks was unbelievably awesome, and it's like one of the few movies I can watch twice in a month, I usually leave movies till like 6 months at least)

The Saint was a very cool movie, especially for the year in which it came out. Val Kilmer was great. Speaking of the guy, what's up with him anyway. is he retired or does he simply get no more roles or what? Can any of y'all give me answers ?

BTW y'all should have more respect for SIR Anthony Hopkins, lol.

Asta la vista, babies!

I'm a NIN to the core but I don't think NID are poop-packers or are always doing menial jobs over there. i've got a lot of folks all over the world but that's not why I'm defending the NIDs. I admit a lot of NINs that are acting up now are the ones who end up fleeing this country to become dishwashers over there. This goes to those vindicated NINs, have you ever heard of dual citizenship? Those bleeped up NIDs who think living abroad makes everybody else inferior can go ***k ****r ****s ******s. A lot of beeps in that statement, figure it out if you can. I just hope people don't take this stuff too seriously, i'm not going to lose sleep over anything said here. Cheers to the sensible NINjas and NIDgies!

Hey y'all! It must be like ages since I posted anything here. I couldn't absolutely do anything yesterday cuz I was bleeding busy through out, but I squeezed out some time to view iice's post. I knew she'd always post somn. Too bad y'all don't dig the oldies like I do but don't get me wrong, it doesn't dampen my fervor for the newbies. Maybe that's because y'all don't have a good feel for was going on then. It's a major part of a whole American history. Singing in the rain, Frankenstein and King Kong are all products of those days. If that's not enough reason to love those days, think about the Looney Tunes from WB, Disney creations (like we all know, have y'all seen Fantasia, no talking just crazy composition and events) Tom and Jerry, and a host other classical cartoons. Though they don't compare to my personal favorites, The Simpsons, Southpark, Family Man, Johnny Quest and Beavis and Butthead plus others I'm sure I'm forgetting. Anyways, akin007, ti's nice to hear from you.

I love happy endings too as you have shown, but occasionally I enjoy a break from the norm like what you see in this Denzel Washington film, Fallen or in Thomas Harris' book Hannibal (I didn't finish the film, but I suspect that nobody caught the bad guy). iice don't be crossed with me for being silent. I promise to always make noise (if it's possible, that is), that goes for you too akin007.

This doesn't usually happen to me but I'm blanked out and ain't got nothing more to say, so y'all have a good day now! Cheers!

Omg it's refreshing to have more people in this joint! bgees and akin007 welcome! I'm freaking pleased to have you guys here and hope you guys make it a date with me and iice who seemed to be hitherto the only ones here. Now with the formalties over, let's get to the business of the day;

iice, you come first, cuz after all you are my trusty keypal. We'll probably be seeing Bourne Ultimatum at the same time, but I'm really considering leaving it till Monday, if I can sneak out of my office, so that I can pay less (less means like half the price with a free coke and some pop corn, lol) Today is a lovely day and I miss home on days like this. I'm probably the only black man who still loves a good tanning, lol. This thread isn't ours alone no longer as you must have noticed. We're lucky though, to have veterans it seems. And not curious gooks looking to feel among. See ya later, Chris Daughtry rock BTW

bgees, you complained that we don't recognise people like Ridley Scott (I'm sure iice mentioned him earlier, scroll thru her previous posts) to which i say you're largely correct. I assure you, it's not because we think less of them (right, iice?) but we just got carried away, that's all. we'll make a point of broadening our scope, thinking out of the box like. Ridley is great and I'm sure iice thinks so too. Mel Gibson must be angry with me for paying tribute. I love his involvement in his projects, there are very few committed player like him. His movies are all epics and I find it intriguing that he should be so knowing of other cultures since his origins are form another continent i.e. Australia (Braveheart-Scottish, Apocalypto-ancient Aztec I think, and The Patriot-American). He's famed for his faith and people attacked him for being anti-semitic for his portrayal in The Passion of Christ, though he's known for making politically incorrect statements sometimes, but hey who doesn't?

akin007 (last name first, agent!) I really dig your taste (I hope that doesn't sound condescending) I fell for Jerry bruckheimer way back when he started with X-files I think, and later with his brand new logo. I love for directors and producers having something to do with cinema and television. Sam Raimi is also a new addition to that field and very well so with Spiderman 1,2 and 3. Hope for more till like forever. Shyamalan is an example of the all American dream come true, isn't he? A mind bender, Shyamalan.

Now for a statement; I still love the directors of old because they demand more from their actors, maybe because they're perfectionists or maybe because there are no crazy-ass special effects, but they do. Now everything is going digital and action based and there isn't much need for really talented actors like Russell Crowe around. Look at the Tinsel town actors of the 50's through the 70's like Clark Gable, Spencer Tracy, Humphrey Bogart(my favorite along with everyone else) Bette Davis, Gene Kelly, Frank Sinatra (had a lovely career too) James Cagney, and Judy Garland RIP(most of these geezers are dead, but i say RIP to Judy cuz she died at an early age in 1963 and I was already in love with her for her role in The Wizard of Oz cry) Now we're all caught up with being funny or tough or being sexy that nobody makes films like Casablanca (my favorite again for obvious reasons) again. Anyway, I'll be the last person to live in the past so don't wonder my age.

See y'all later, do come back now!

Oh gosh, this is exactly the kinda stuff I didn't want happening. Now you're Nigerian which sorta happens to be worse than preaching to the choir and kinda like preaching to the pastor's wife. I'm very glad though that you're Nigerian. Anyways, girls gotta be careful of boys as most of us are dogs, even if I do say so myself. But I'm your brother and dad and maybe your son-if you're really 62-are not like that. God i feel awkward having believed you were some European or something. I guess it's pointless asking stuff like where you are and the likes. There's this film I saw 1408. I had read the book earlier and the film is a pretty good adaptation of it. I have made up my mind to see The Bourne Ultimatum at Nu Metro, so that it'll be an unforgettable event for me. I hope I won't bore you with my love for the book and film. Thank god for the faithful pirates, who make Hollywood films available to poor folks like me. Now it seems the Chinese community have caught on the trade over here (at least they've seen potential in the Nigerian market), so we can be assured of quality (not where you find some restless viewer waltzing around the bleeding cinema with his bloody silhouette all over the place, or the wise guy not positioning the frigging camera right so the picture is slanted or even recording in a format that makes the film have a hollow or echoing effect. I'm sure you must have experienced these dissatisfactions before, but I'm sure it's a small price to pay for 200 smackaroos. i know you must think I'm a talkative but it so happens that you're the only person I keep correspondence with, so because you're a faithful keypal. i think I've said that before. Let's just say you tickle my fancy. See ya around!

I don't know why it took me so long to post a view here

My favorite super hero would have been Wolverine, but when I think of good ol' spidey I have a re-think, tis very hard to choose, plus i have to merge movie versions and comic book version together to make a choice

Favorite villain of all time is simple in choosing because of a single criteria; you wouldn't be a good villain (good villain?) if you sucked at your job and got killed by the good guy, and of course you'd have to be pure freaking evil, so who's the bad guy we all know who never really got his ass whooped and always manages to get away? y'all guessed it, Dr. Evil

You must be like the 2334229th person to fall for Johnny Depp. I don't blame you really, I just think he should leave some of y'all for the rest of us. But I still insist that he's kind of weird. Check out the way he receives his awards on TV. He's one hell of a cool dude, though. Gotta love that guy. I got a friend here who thinks the world of him and John Legend. I don't know if she's alright or she just has a fetish for Johnnys. Your e-mail address will have to do for now, I don't know why you appear to be so apprehensive, though. But I guess you have to be careful of us Nigerians as you must have heard about some very cunning con-artists, so I tell you this; you ain't gotta do anything you don't want to do. Don't feel pressured by anything I ask you for. As time goes on I'll prove to you that we're not all the same. I'm not being defensive so don't feel like I'm offended or anything, just telling you that I understand your motive for being careful. Make sure you finish The Bourne Identity before long because it's still my favorite book of all time. Anyway that all I have to say for now. Be quick to reply, iice.

I love it when you agree with me, especially people like you. Anyway, you couldn't righter, if there's a word like that, about Ron Howard working with specific actors, i guess these directors have favorite actors who fit into their themes. Tim Burton is probably weirder than you think, but I suspect Johnny Depp is stranger. I mean the guy seems to have a specialty for creepy films; Sleepy hollow, the ninth gate, from hell, Secret window, The Astronaut's wife, Edward, the scissorhands, not to mention the ones I might not know. if you get a chance, you read up The Bourne Identity if you haven't read it already, it's better than the film, though the film was fairly good. Maybe because Robert Ludlum was the Executive Producer. Now he's dead. sad. Don't you think it's funny that we're the only guys in this thread? weird, people need to watch movies more

P. S. could you furnish me with your Yahoo ID so we can chat on the messenger. this is beginning to be clumsy, like old pen pals stuff. Have a nice day!

Ok, Lady iice, I'm cool with everything you said. Anyhow, I see the same things about the writing styles of Dan Brown. He seems to be a talented writer but didn't get the chance of writing less popular books before he rose to fame. He could have used a lil practice. Anyway, his best book as far as I'm concerned still remains Angels and Demons then The Da Vinci code and his less stimulating books, Digital Fortress and Deception Point. Since you haven't read Deception point, I would not advise you to be in a hurry to read it. It's not a terribly bad book, the plot is ok, but he pushes the idea of luck too far. About Ron Howard, I think he's a more accomplished producer than an actor, but that's just my opinion. I don't know if you were asking because of his involvement in The Da Vinci Code, but I preferred reading the book to seeing the film because the adaptation was too bland and was lacking imagination. It was almost a complete and accurate reconstruction of the book. I like for a movie to have additions and sensible deletions, just enough to remain true to bulk of the story, something like what you see in the Bourne trilogy movies. Alright iice, I'll hear from you soon I hope. I find myself looking forward to your replies. Take care of yourself, ciao!

Wow, it blows my mind that u're such a faithful friend. I guess I can infer a lot from that, I have a feeling this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. I also have a feeling that I've said that before like in deja vu. Grindhouse is the name I was looking for. I've not seen the movie but I heard about it on Rickdee's top 40 countdown when he QT was invited. About the Sigma Protocol, it was written by him and some guy, and it's one of a few among the Covert one series I think. Anyway I thought it was gonna be made into a series like Apocalypse Watch was supposed to. Ludlum, RIP, is such a great writer that his plots are very difficult to adapt in a film because his villians like 'The Brain' always wanna take over the world and indeed they come close to achieving their goals. Anyway I don't want to bore you with my passions so that you can reply me. But I think it's good that you're starting with Ludlum and not some creep like Len Deighton. U should try Angels and Demons by Dan Brown which I think is better than the over rated Da Vinci Code. Every one of his books are cool except Deception point where he stretched reality, really pushing his luck to make the whole story happen in just one day, though all his books span just a day, but Deception Point was different. Enough on that, I can respect it if you don't want to reveal your age, but I just don't want to sound inappropriate in some instances. Anyway iice, (what's your real name anyway?) have a nice day

iice cold! I'm sorry it took me forever to reply ur post. I think this might be the beginning of a beautiful friendship cuz u seem to be interested in stuff that I am. I gonna talk about some things u said in ur last post. But first I need to know how old u really are, not for anything but so I can relate to u better. If it bothers u to reveal ur real age, u could give me an age that u'd like me to think u were and we'll kick it from there. That being said, let me reiterate that I'm totally down with u cuz aside from a girl I met who likes Robert Ludlum books (by the way, The Bourne Ultimatum is out. It's off the hook) u're the only other person (girl) I know who likes stuff I do. Do u read, by the way. I'm not a geek or a nerd but I find great pleasure in books of witty and fast-paced quality. if u do, let me know ur favorites. I heard like two months ago that Quentin was working on a slasher flick, but I've not heard anything about it again. Don't know if u can shed some light about that. As for Angelina's tattoo, She'll probably kill herself of starvation before food does. She's pretty skinny now. Have u seen her lately. U can check her out on her new movie, A Mighty Heart. I love my girls buxom! What's ur real name anyway? Ciao!
Romance › My Pal Says He's In Love With Two Women. Is That A Truck Load Of Crap Or What? by vescucci(op): 8:46pm On Aug 04, 2007
When my pal tells me he's in love with two women at the very same time, I think he's just talking nonsense to justify his raging libido. What's more, the two girls know that they're not the only ones in his life. Now I'm wondering, are they just stark raving crazy or do they have a massive dose of inferiority complex? I mean, I sure this pal of mine doesn't really love either of them. He's just looking for casual sex and I've told him he could get that all the time without breaking the poor girls hearts. Perhaps the girls themselves don't really love him and are maybe just content with living off him, because he's like of generous. I'm even ashamed of him, my buddy that is, but I love this guy (no faggoty traits implied) and I can't let him confuse himself and get himself killed. I'm posting this here so he can see what other people, sane and out-of-their-minds, think. I hope he's sane enough to listen to y'all. Please help the poor schmuck!

Hi there, iice, is it? I'm very impressed that you being a girl appreciate people like Quentin Tarantino, Martin I can understand, cuz he's smallish and bespectacled and has a teeny voice, very likable. Bloody films that those guys make should normally be a girl's abhoration, but iice seem to be different. I guess u'd like 300. Anyway the question I want to ask you is why you hate A.I. Maybe you think the ending is awful, but I like sad endings once in a while, makes it more realistic and you can expect a sequel (have u seen ?) More questions, are you really 62? And what does 'Quod Me Nutrit Me Destruit' mean? some ancient and occult mantra? I love stuff like that!

TV/Movies › Who Here Thinks Nollywood Has To Totally Clean Up Their Act? by vescucci(op): 4:01pm On Aug 01, 2007
I'm only being respectful of my country and some of my friends who actually enjoy Nollywood films. What I really think is that these pieces of crap that's supposed to pass as real films make me sick. They so suck that I'm beginning to feel hollow. I appreciate quality, that's why I'm not going to say they're all bad. There are still good stuff out there, like all Mainframe pictures (they're doing a good job), some few films like Dangerous Twins and Diamond Ring are just a teeny tiny few that are worth my rating. First of all, we don't appreciate the art of making films. It should not be seen as just a money making venture, or how else will you explain the making of a movie in just 2 weeks! (I actually saw Shan George the TV programme Nollywood complaining about the time wastage by one foreigner that they invited to make a movie with them. Guess how long is too long? 11 days! That's simply pitiful). Another problem is that our literary society is largely non-existant. Nobody reads anything anymore, so how the hell do you want anybody to write. All ideas of these films comes from a script writer or something and not from good books. In as much as I think it is lame to copy Hollywood in respect to lingua and intonation and ideas, I also think we should take a cue from them as regards quality and input. And TIME! We spin out an average of a movie per day in this country, and I'm sure I'm playing it down. Worthy of mention is the fact that the actors aren't that bad, in fact they're pretty good and I'm sure they'll perform better with more incentives. For now, all they're making is a little money (maybe not so little) plus a lot of fame. Ideas are draining that's why Nollywood films are just the same old sweet in a different wrapper. I'm glad I'm not a fan of these movies or how would I be able to keep track of them all? I am not somebody trying to be what I'm not, as I'm sure some Nollywood advocates will almost be losing their hats now, but I can not pay for little minded nonsense just so I can be viewed as, what, Patriotic? I'm saying all this because I love Naija my country. So Nollywood put more heart and soul into your productions and maybe a little reduction in the numbers you make, so we can have stuff to look forward to. I could go on and on but, ow, my fingers hurt!

Business › Re: Starting Up An IT Outsourcing Company by vescucci(m): 12:54pm On Jul 31, 2007
I'm not much of an expert on the marketing subject. Actually more like not an expert at all, but I want to venture into software development as a simple developer, I might be a freelancer or be bought by a company paying a reasonable fee. My point is that any IT company should only have electricity to be bothered about. And with the on-going revolutions in the power sector by the end of this year or the beginning of next year, the power problem in this country should improve. Therefore ur only problem is to be able to lay ur hands on reputable and smart IT techs to help u achieve ur aim, , and theirs too.
