Nothing better than a plate of long dead fermenting swept ashore whale meat. Afterall it's a mammal so it's technically meat, huh. Yeah, hack on fellas, good meat makes good stew, uurgh!
Nairaland General › Re: Can A Condom Protect One From The Effect Of Magun? by vescucci(m): 9:17am On Oct 30, 2007
Of course if you believe in that crap. Magun, oh puhleeze! Isn't that stuff that makes you sommersault and die after crying cockadoodle doo? After visiting a woman locked with Magun that is.
Romance › Re: Would You Marry Your Age Mate? by vescucci(m): 9:13am On Oct 30, 2007
Of course. Age is immaterial to me as long I love the person in question. Now the real question is can I fall for someone way older or younger than I am? I don't think so. Funnily I've always been attracted to gurls a little ways older than I am. They're usually deeper. And smarter too.
Romance › Re: Why Do We Have To Marry? by vescucci(m): 9:09am On Oct 30, 2007
So that we can bound together to willingly have a miserable life together whether you like it or not. But, it's the condition of the earth. And also to control the world's population by preventing a lot of illegitimate children as fellas would otherwise go around fertilising eggs, if ya know what I mean!

A second Hellboy? OK, I can live with that. I'd been wondering what was keeping them because the first one had the look of a major event that has come to stay. What, with the logos and paraphernalia that was selling around the movie's release. Ron Perlman did a fairly great job and frankly I couldn't think of a better person for that role. I liked him in Blade 2, but it really took a while before I was connect his carriage and attitude with the vamp in Blade. I liked all the attitude and soft side for the fiery lady,

Danny Craig signing a contract for 4 more Bond movies is not really surprising to me, in fact I already thought he was signed up. I'm wondering who's to lose, the studio or him as I can infer that the contract's an exclusive one forbidding him from taking on any other roles, and the studio has got to justify the money spent and roll out passable James Bond movies which frankly has material running thin except they plan to deviate from the original framework of the Ian Fleming books. Akin will indeed be pleased as he likes James Bond better than my Jason Bourne. Fanatic advocate of Bond, he is.

Since Spongebob and his friends have a movie what do you think will stop anybody from making movies from any background. Very soon you'll see Jerry Springer, the movie. Out this Fall! lol!

C ya!
TV/Movies › Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(op): 3:50pm On Oct 29, 2007
I'm sure you might be thinking anybody else but Jessica Biel. Though I can't say I remember the gurl in Wolf Creek. Is that the series where some high school kids turn to wolfs at night or is it on full moons? Nywayz it's funny you should mention Flash cuz I loved that show as a kid but in retrospect I think I might hate it now.

Don't really like Ben myself, wait, that's not accurate, it's more like I don't think he's worth my appraisal. He's just too bland as you say, uptight and generally trying to do everything right without mistakes. I'd like a more all out actor ready to take risks with roles that can really push him, again as you say.

I'm not particularly thrilled to hear about the third of Underworld. First, because I generally don't like gurls that kick ass that much and cuz they pushing their luck. Like you I can't figure out what's up with all these endless sequels that totally live below expectations. Worse is that they usually don't plan ahead for any sequels and now try to build a story around the first fabric. Totally pisses me off. The Matrix, LOTR and Pirates of the Carribean are very good examples of planning for movies. They should take a cue. And all their sequels are better than their firsts.

Prequels? Just gave me an idea. They can try rewinding movies and giving us totally tight experience. Something like Lion King 1 1/2.

Arios!

How you doing iice. It seems we're the last people standing on this thread. That's woeful! Nywayz I've not seen either The Dark is Rising or The Seeker, or even read any reviews on them.

I also hate when villains appear so insurmountable and then fall so easily. If not that I really loved the 'Pirates of the Carribean' installments I'd hated the fact that the crew of the flying dutchman who appeared like hell rejects in the 'Dead Man's Chest' later seemed like frail vampires at World's End.

Fantasy books reaching LOTR's standard? Oh, man, that's no mean feat, not by a long shot! Gross earnings for the three LOTR installments placed it fourth or third ever only bettered by Harry Potter's, Bond's, Star Wars' installments followed by Pirates of the Carribean. These earnings are in billions of american dollars. For you to rake in such money you gotta have spent a freaking hell of a lot.

Narnia, while being really fun to watch didn't have a budget anywhere near that of LOTR. I Am Legend promises to be above average and I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the golden compass too.

Did you hear of Affleck directorial debut with gone baby, gone? I gotta admit I don't think he'll be that good but that's not being fair to him. Anyway Morgan Freeman and I think Jack Nicholson are in it along with Affleck's younger brother, Casey. Freeman has never been known to botch anybody's movie. We'll see. And, oh, he also seems to have written the story too. Affleck, that is.

I gotta admit I was struggling to figure out most of what you're talking about. I knew that Josh Hartnett was in 30 days of night, but I guess you were talking about Brokeback with the talk about Heath Ledger (I see the next Orlando Bloom in him, plus a to-die-for voice, at least for the ladies) and Anne Hathaway being heart-broken (thus brokeback), also I think it might be safe to assume that Ang Lee was the director too. Kate Winslet?
Romance › Re: Your Childhood Crush? by vescucci(m): 9:36am On Oct 25, 2007
I had a crush on an older girl that virtually ripped my heart out. I did most of the bad things I did in school for her benefit and what does that fetch me? Flunked WAEC! Silver lining is she made me a deeper person with all the poems I wrote. And I picked up basketball because of her. A lot of great things I might not have done.

I saw her like a year ago and I'm wonderinng what I saw in her in the first place!

If I could turn back the hands of time, I wouldn't cuz love sucks! At least when it ain't returned!
TV/Movies › Re: Hollywood directors: Rate or hate? What's your Take? by vescucci(op): 9:08am On Oct 25, 2007
Brokeback, huh? Heard some reviews on that and I'd like yours too. I've been hearing about a lot of scary movies recently but haven't got around to seeing any. To name a few; 30 days of night, Halloween, Vampire chronicles or something!

Spikyn still waiting on ya to explain what freaks you out with things being complicated!
Food › Re: How To Prepare Masa? by vescucci(m): 8:59am On Oct 25, 2007
I love masa and the other variant, wayna! Fura da nunu, as long as it's clean is also a delight. I don't know the recipes for these things but I know you can make wayna with rice instead of corn. I guess there must be some how-to books out there to help y'all out. I'm gonna marry a hybrid, you know. Someone from all corners of the country and maybe even the continent to enjoy all the blissful food. Masa's got me salivating and drooling! grin

@ Freezy, you're even dumber than I thought. You can't even spell your adversary's name right. I would ave thought you had a version of my name in your head but when you misspelled it on two occasions, I concluded you must be of senile disposition. Jabs from you will probably never run true, they'll be so off target, somewhat like your words.

Now clemcykul (rhymes with clumsy fool) common, who drinks people's coffee, that's so lame! Horrible sense of humour. So no yabis for you cos you've already done yourself in.

I must give freezy points for putting up the white flag, cuz afterall y'all got me off by picking on Jiddah, not like she can't take care of herself, but I guess I was looking for people to pick on myself. Show me the white flag (I'm not averse to it) or have me continue to spit venom, I quite enjoy the release.
TV/Movies › Re: Spike Tv Announces Scream 2007 Winners! by vescucci(m): 11:40am On Oct 24, 2007
I got to say I agree with most of the awards Scream dished out this year. The ones I couldn't say I really liked, I couldn't think of a better person. So anybody can have it. But my only problem is the Best Sequel. Order of the Phoenix? Eeeew as iice would say! I hated the movie, actually relatively, but singularly it still wasn't good enough for me. It just didn't cut it for me. Check out the film, what can you really say is the major achievement? nada! But that's not enough to spoil the rest of the show for me.
TV/Movies › Re: 24 Things We've Learnt From Nollywood by vescucci(m): 11:30am On Oct 24, 2007
Wow, Gamine. I'd say you ripped the thoughts out of my mouth if it didn't sound like a cliche. It was pleasurable to read and also largely true. I've since stopped bothering with them movies, it's now just a matter of stumble upon for me to watch 15 minutes of any nollywood movie. At least the soaps have hope. But me? A collosal fan of Hollywood!

First, I thought only fools argue with fools? What does that make you guys? You probably don't have enough RAM to process that. Must you post here if you don't get the humour in this? Silly dummies, probably never threw a blow before, then come here to run their traps!

Nwayz, the chicken could have crossed the road to defecate in freezy and clemcykul's coffee while they're on a date! Fagilolas!

Aww men, Spikyn. Thanks. I've got a whole week's supply of warmth for my very big heart. Just breezing in myself, so this might be shorter. You know, it's complicated, lol. Just playin with ya man. S'up iice. @Klemente; oh shit!

Well, it's extremely nice to hear from you iice. I've been 4 feet under the weather myself, explaining the absence. I don't know why everybody just seemed to withdraw at approximately the same time. lemme see, iice despite being sick seems to have spent a good deal of her time under the sheets with the remote control conveniently snuggled up in her hands. And she hasn't even finished recounting all her reviews.

Lemme see which among her first list I have seen. hmmmmn, thank God she highlighted them!

Next, never heard of it, period

Blood and chocolate, your guess is as good as mine. I've not seen it or heard of it, but I'm a fan of foreign movies (at least foreign to Hollywood) but since I'm not at home I can't get to see exotic movies as I only buy or go to the cinema. God I miss good old fashion cable TV

1408, I read the book. And I saw so much of the previews that I'm wondering if I'm missing anything by not really seeing it. But I've always likes Cusack and Jackson and a collabo makes it all better

We are marshalls, I'm really getting tired of these theme based movies, seriously, how many different ways can it really be possible for you to twist the same story.

Stranger than fiction has always been a favorite of mine and I guess everybody. I'm not averse to seeing it again myself. Possibly Jim Carey's best role if you ask me.

28 weeks later? Is that supposed to be a sequel? To something like 'From today' hehehe. Never heard of that one either. My ratings have drastically dropped. I need help!

Disturbia, now I heard of that one. The film was good, but I want to dwell on Shia. I think he has a fruitful career ahead of him. Is he really going out with Rihanna?

I pronounce you Chuck and Larry isn't a movie you wanna watch when you're trying to prove some form of bravado. Even Tuvok in (Star Trek: Voyager) will laugh out loud. That's more than enough encomium for any comedy

Daddy Day Camp, I heard about this one too, but I'm not in a hurry to see it. First because it does not move me. Second because I'm tired of Cuba seeming to always be happy to jump at roles that portray him as some kind of egoless black dude. Except of course, that's the idea in the first place like in the movie, Men of Honor

Well, I didn't really see any movie myself. I just saw Shrek the Third again and though it's rare for me to see a movie again so soon I enjoyed it. Asides from that, nada went down this week. Things'll change soon though, I got serious plans for my very terrible ratings
