TV/Movies › Re: Asa - Jailed In London Airport by vescucci(m): 6:59pm On Jan 14, 2010
Whether Asa smokes weed or not is immaterial. I know she'd have better sense than to be carrying. Whilst I think the story is someone's imagination on overdrive, it would be plausible that our new found terrorist label has something to do with this.
TV/Movies › Re: Which Movie Touched You To Point Of Tears? by vescucci(m): 6:54pm On Jan 14, 2010
Many movies have made me cry. In the past. Now my eyes just water and it's not the movies per se but very brief scenes. There was even one such scene in 2012. Generally it's extreme chilvary or hopelessness that put me on the edge. Back to the topic, Little Princess had me wailing.
TV/Movies › Re: Which Is Your Favourite Walt Disney Cartoon? by vescucci(m): 6:51pm On Jan 14, 2010
Awww cara, that's so touching. I share your sentiments though, lol. As far as Disney goes, I like Beauty and the Beast best. For Pixar it's a tie between Finding Nemo and Wall-E.
TV/Movies › Re: Whats Your All-time Favorite Tv Series? by vescucci(m): 6:47pm On Jan 14, 2010
Impossible to choose only one or even a few but if I were to lock complete seasons of two tv shows in a time capsule, I'd choose House and Boston Legal.

Lol. I see the problem JK. It reminds me of a discussion I was having with a certain someone. You seem to be of the opinion that art, atleast as far as films are concerned, cannot be expressed vicariously vis a vis cgi-lly. Because someone chooses to use less than pristine methods to express a thing makes it no less art. I don't think I've heard you talk about Wall-E. That is ART. Many things make a film. The story takes the lion share since that's the whole point. But music, cinematography, costumes, etc in conjunction make the bulk of what makes a movie. If not, I'll just read a book. Or a script. G.I.Joe was graphically engaging but not in an artistic way. Competence is not talent. I really don't know what to say. I was reading a very long preface to a very long compilation of poems. The author reckoned that a poem can only be considered truly great if it effectively transmutes the reader into the writer such that the reader feels as the writer feels, and is not just merely a collection of clever rhymes. You have the right not to go gaga about the movie but one and a half billion dolls don't lie.

You asked after the art, what else? Why, there should be nothing else.

What have you been watching these days, iice?
TV/Movies › Re: The Movie Club by vescucci(m): 11:07am On Jan 14, 2010
JK, you're an exception to the rule. It's just that Avatar had so much going for it that its flaws pales to transparency. It should be lauded and not crucified for giving the Dances With Wolves and Pocahontas new and refreshing twists. Almost all movies are unoriginal in the strict sense. Some are lucky that the originals are either unsuccessful or terribly made. It's Avatar's bad luck that both films whence it draws its inspiration are fairly successful films, Oscar winning even. I can understand a little disappointment but Avatar still rocks. 90%

911 ke? Is that a small caveat or a small beacon of safety nearby?

@JK, don't fight it. It only makes it worse. Or is it better from your POV?

All you need now is a tight leather suit, metal garter belts, gags, horse whips chains and shackles and maybe a flame thrower and you're set. Stop making fun though. Kinky is inducted,

So let's have it, Kinks. I saw Pay It Forward again since we were talking about Osment. That film is awesome and not only cuz of the wonder boy. He's magical and so was Spacey and Hunt.
TV/Movies › Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by vescucci(m): 12:04pm On Jan 07, 2010
It took my all not to call him Kinky but now that you've done it, I think he won't mind, lol. Let's call that his rite of initiation.

Welcome Kinkinatus. If you like oldies then you're alright with me. Two Can Play That Game notwithstanding.

Kay's rant should win an award. Hilarious stuff.

I am waiting for something.
4 days now, I've been waiting for this thing.
If soon I don't get this thing.
I will break someone's head with something.
If I get no satisfaction from this thing.
I'll look for another thing.
To pulverize the bloodied head cuz I don't care about anything anymore and I'd give up everything which really is nothing to get this thing which is the only thing I really want right now. Don't ask. Y'all know I don't divulge my bidness.

I know LMS was nominated for something and I think it won something, lol.

I remember seeing As Good As It Gets and wondering if Helen and Jack were married. The chemistry is unbeatable. There are films and there are films.

JeSoul, you're so right with the attitude. Does more convincing than whips and shackles.
TV/Movies › Re: The Movie Club by vescucci(m): 10:39am On Jan 05, 2010
Avatar will suffer endless comparison with Dancing With The Wolves and Pocahontas. Suffice to say that to whom much is given, much is due. For a film that expensive and luckily, that successful, it would be expected that there'd be plenty haters. A simplistic movie made with such advanced genius that makes you feel a part of the story. Arguments against it are pretty thin and Rumpelstiltskin-like if you ask me. The worst I can say about the film is 'less hype please'. I think the film has a little for everybody. So if most people let go of their hate-what-every-tom-dick-and-harry-likes-so-as-to-seem-of-superior-intellect-and-taste complex, they'd find that part of the film that connects with them. The best movie of 2009 came at the very end. Cameron has made a star of Sam Worthington.

Symptoms of a crush.

Max, all this their plenty talk has confused you. JeSoul is the elephant. Spike will give you a piece of her mind before you finish your sentence. Ask lover boy. JeSoul is supposed to be the dominatrix, though I think she's far removed from the term in the normal sense.

I liked Little Miss Sunshine and I'd rate it nothing less than 80%. Almost all the characters stay with you and it's hard to believe some of them are acting.

Yeah. Let's review Avatar
TV/Movies › Re: Hollywood: Favourite Movies, Actors and Awards. Tinseltown reviews & Gossip by vescucci(m): 10:50pm On Jan 03, 2010
Holy Smoke. I almost thought that was an exclamation. One of the first films I saw Winslet in. Didn't understand it much when I first saw it. And now it strangely reminds me of Dido's song Mary Is In India or something. That film only convinces me that Kate is convinced that getting naked is the hallmark of a true professional. Poor Kate.

And the ranters are here.

@Sisikill, I rarely cry but if I do, CNN will make sure you know. E never reach that level. I've almost forgotten for it doesn't matter no more. Go and fetch your twin so that we fit complete.

I'll pass on the bypass, Sino. Thanks. And so right about the new year. It's just another day. My resolution is to honor my resolutions, lol. And to everyone else, ride it till the wheels fall off

Hi, JK. I'm up for whatever but not Talking of Pelham. I just can't muster energy for that film.

As for Sherlock Holmes. I saw the trailer yesterday and I'm making plenty concessions. I'll have to go melt JeSoul's heart towards it.
