This question comes up on this page most times and the answer i see is "Be sincere as much as possible"

There are places your sincerity will get you, and there are places you can decide to be Yourself.

Most of the time, If your application can station on what you have achieved rather than doing....

You could have been a hair dresser, sales girl, or some one that does "something"!

I repeat, the Uniqueness is what gets you a visa!

NwanyiOkpa:
Your point is clear and straight to the point. Thanks a lot.

What do you advise someone without a job currently do about his visa application? Thanks.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 1:35pm On Jan 30, 2020
Thats why you don't apply to one school, there are several time decision schools uses to get back to you... so if you apply to 4 schools, one will come out earlier than others

betliveman:
that's really long ...if one intend applying for this yr they should of applied say like last year then?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 12:44pm On Jan 30, 2020

Like i always say.... Truth Go Pain You, But You get Sense .. By force!

Paying Tuition fee doesn't guarantee Visa....

Having a double mind about doing anything , is the first step to do anything, Doubt comes with Courage, don't be afraid to fail.

Sponsoring Yourself my brother, seems to me like a tourist Visa, For how long do you intend to do that? Unless you are showing me a bank balance of 20-50Million, You will be dependent somehow in Canada.

If you want to do Masters and come out with good grades like so many people write in their SOP, You have to concentrate on the EDUCATION and almost never work, unless you are some extra-Ordinary good student ... Guy You are coming out with an Average grade 50/100 (for Good students o).

Assignments Alone can drive you crazy, You can have 6 Assignment in your email in Just one week, 4 slides in 3 days and 3 seminar in 2weeks to submit, Please what kind of a super man are you that you will do all this and still have distinctions , with exceptions 2 out of 100 people!.

What does this go to mean, a VO, seeing you as a self sponsor will also see you as some one who will be more concentrated on working than Education, that while they ask for sponsorship in most cases, some countries in EUROPE won't even give you visa if you say you are self-sponsoring.

This is not to diminish you are activity but to create in you a sound knowledge of all that is required of you, i wish you well.

Onweke:
I got my admission letter Nov 30, 2019 for sept 2020 intake. I paid my tuition fee Dec2019 since then I have lost interest in applying for the student visa because of high rate of visa refusal. I always look for other options to enter Canada or any other country. I cannot take the shock of being rejected atall. I don't need any sponsor how much is expected to be in my account as settlement fund ?.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 12:19pm On Jan 30, 2020
There is nothing like Samples.

It Means Statement of Purpose, .... The purpose of everything.... SEARCHING FOR SCHOOL, APPLYING, GETTING ADMITTED, APPLYING FOR VISA, ..... WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF ALL THIS ?

The uniqueness of your Write up also stands you out, write like someone or some person earlier... you sound boring!

nayo10:
Good morning guys, pls anyone could help with samples of SOP written for the visa application. Thank you
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 4:39pm On Jan 29, 2020
NO sir.

If you have a loan in Nigeria, it basically a rope tied around your neck through some form of collateral or someone standing in for you.

and that can only be achieved when you do it from home.

There are international bodies that gives Nigerian students in Canada, It is also accessible but not a tie back home, but you go get the visa first!

onyemaxie:
What if the loan isn't from your home country, and also not from Canada, would it still be regarded as home ties or other advantages?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 1:45pm On Jan 29, 2020
A Bank Loan,

Cooperate body

Micro Finance ....

Any kind of body that can scale verification.

A Bank Loan is a TIE to your Home Country!

sharpsharp:
Explain more about this funding with loan.
Can it be from just any individual or from a cooperate body or bank loan?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 11:41am On Jan 29, 2020
Let me tell you one very powerful truth Today.....

85% of Tuition Funded with a LAON, and Blatantly displayed and talked about in your VISA application Gets you an APPROVAL.

N.B, Has to be boldly written out by the Body giving you the loan that it was meant for your Education "ABROAD"

onyemaxie:
Good day everyone, please what's the possible of trv , if one uses loan to fund tuition accommodation and textbooks, then family as sponspor, your prompt response will be appreciated. Thanks

This is the Generic Message for Rejection, Order GCMNOTES , Now!!!!!!!!!

Before you Dash them another Money.

CHRISPLACE:
I just got refusal of my study permit yesterday. This is my second application that is been refused. The ground for refusal different from the first one. I have already defer my admission to may intake and I want reapply as soon as possible. Please Gurus in the house I need your. I don't want to get another refusal.
The two reason for refusal is in the attachment. I am waiting for your responses.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 10:56am On Jan 29, 2020
I cannot remember the last time i saw an APPROVAL....

The Voice Up There will soon be heard, I only came with ideas and concept, and all i was understood was that i was killing motivations.

So many route to getting TRV has been scrapped and given less consideration,....

How about we talk about it and face it squarely .....

E.g, My distant Uncle Statement....

My Eldest Brother's best Friend's Statement ....

I left school 5 years ago, I have 2.2, I am going for PGD but I studied English, i want to go and study Maths now.

I have applied before they rejected me, i want to apply again immediately , because lectures start by next month....

Blablablabla...ETC

The gurus will come for me now and tell me "one" person got visa at the age of 95years , Yesterday night!
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 8:22pm On Jan 27, 2020
Won't want to fill this page with so much of this chat anyway before una oga say i dey fight people here.

My brother NIGERIA is worse, not just CANADA Visa, EVERYWHERE!!!!! we apply almost everywhere and we make a mess of it.

Take this down, "The rate of Application to Canada from Nigeria alone beats the rate of application coming from the entire African Continent, Excluding South Africa( 10% of applications coming from SA are NIGERIANS)" , Let me Shock you, " Nigerians Make Up 20% of the entire Application population coming from the other countries in the CONTINENT!!!

INDIANs(pakistan , and the regions) and CHINA, Individually, have numbers far below The Nigerian application alone between JUNE 2019 till Date, Another Record.

Most of this parameters are online, but i don't depend on them for FACTS, I do what i call "MOBILITY".... ground soldiers knows the terrain.

eightyeight:
If you are so sure of the research you are doing. Drop a link here. Nigerians aren't the only one being rejected.
If you go on canadavisa. Com you will see prospective students from different countries with multiple refusals.
There's is no definite hack to this visa process, every application is unique so visa officers can't use one guideline to judge.
Age is not a barrier when applying for study permit, it might hinder your chances but all you need do is tell a great story.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 7:57pm On Jan 27, 2020
My dear, There are things that can only be experience rather than spell out.... Have you head this before?

If i may ask, what is your field or area of study , what context do you gather? no insults at all.

Have you ever seen anywhere a country defines Visa Approval statistics? Have you ever seen a Link for Visa Issuance? even at conferences you only hear, "A Number of visa considerations".

Then how do we go about it, we meet real life people, most of the time undercover applicants who may stand with you as applicants and excahnge contacts with you in as much to get back to you on the outcome.

In Canada, We meet Nigerians studying and ask them how their success came about, most people applied 6 times, some once! Funny enough this is someone's project all the way in a university in Moscow.

You want a link for a research that i am doing personally? Do you know what it costs? even your response is a research result.

Naijaforeigner:

As a deep researcher that you claim to be, you should know that you don't bring up such figures as above, in a public forum as facts, without proofs.

I don't want to derail this thread, so this is my last response on this issue. I wish you all the best.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 7:47pm On Jan 27, 2020
Didn't Mean to bother You actually,....

PGC(Certificate) will get you a Visa ahead of Masters program, with at least 2 Years work experience ....

Most Certificate Courses happen at colleges but if people could look around a bit, they have to stick to Universities (That's the Jerk)

If you are 100 Years old and applying for a Certificate program, it is very legal, it is called professional Upgrade., as long as you can prove to have worked under that field and you are still employed.

The Oga Patapata of them all is PHD.

Naijaforeigner:
I do not know the exact date, she told me 1 year. The date is irrelevant. Some students get 8 months plus extra 3 months on their visa. I know a student that had 8 months (duration of program) plus extra 6 months at POE.

In my case at the POE, I got 9 months (8 months of my program plus extra 1 month to leave Canada upon expiry. I had to renew my visa in Canada. Upon renewal, they gave me another 1 year plus extra 4 months. Study permit exact duration varies.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 7:14pm On Jan 27, 2020
I ask about he duration of the VISA, The date was Exactly 1 year?

Naijaforeigner:
Not passport. PGC is 8 months plus extra few months that they add to your study permit.
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 6:52pm On Jan 27, 2020
@naijaforeigner
@obehi44

Maybe i sounded a little off the hook.

What is the essence of research?
-If A works , lets Use A More , and lets use A like this.... ETC

-If B doesn't work, Can we stop it totally? Can we Adjust it , Can we Upgrade it? ETC

I will be sincere with you, If there are 100 Admission application to Canadian "COLLEGE".... Just 7 Got the Visa (This is a basic Research, Both within and outside Canada)

Application for a College Visa Seldom works, In short... It doesn't work.... with exceptions to VOs.

This is not hearsay, i am very much involved, There is a Crusade now that will soon be up in the air..... "Nigerians have to stop applying for Colleges, Visas are been Denied Heavily!!!

I am Involved in deep deep research and not some internet Junky!
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by vibrant99(m): 6:43pm On Jan 27, 2020
1YEAR VISA?

her passport was gonna Expire in One year? so they gave her 1 year?

Am confused, can you shed more light on this?

Naijaforeigner:
God bless you for the bolded.

When I applied in 2018, the advise I got on this forum were from people who have never been to Canada. Also, that you are in Canada or have been granted study visa does not make you a guru in Canada visa. As far as I am concerned, no one is a guru when it comes to USA and Canada visa's.

I am even tempted to say that people who were delayed, took time to study notes, followed and observed patterns and have been on this forum for so long know more than me who is in Canada when it comes to study permits. I applied only once and got my visa. I may never know as much as the individual who applied thrice and learnt from it.

Who can apply for study permit in Canada?

No one has the right to discourage anyone from applying to study in Canada. The best we can do is guide applicants on how to convince the Visa officer, make them avoid common errors and the rest is on God.

CIC has not been consistent in how they grant visas to applicants, most especially Nigerians. Also, there are too many gaps in the list of documents on CIC website for study permit applications that is subject to different interpretations. I also think Canada allows their visa officers to apply discretion at will when it comes to study permit applications from Africa.

I know at least 3 Nigerians in Fanshawe that are in their late forties, been away from school for so long (over 10 years) and still got visa's. The recent one I saw was a woman almost 50 and she was given 1 year visa for a PGC course in Fanshawe college. How on earth do you explain that?

If you have the money, the right documents and want to study in Canada, apply.

I must commend the gurus in the house for thier selflessness.
@all persons with experience on similar issue i want to discuss below kindly help provide probable advice and solution:
My cousin applied through an agent for a student visa to canada in 2018. I got to know this after the denial.

Documents submitted are as follows:
His admission was for PGC project management, georgian college.
All the completed forms,
All used and unused visa stamp(3 south Africa, Uk, kenya, france)
Marriage certificate
His personal SOA with reasonable cash flow,
Schorlaship letter from Ministry of Finance
Statement of account from the Ministry of Finance(Not forged)
Letter of introduction from the Ministry stating the funds awarded and the payment modalities,
However, as stated in the introduction letter, a 40% payment was transfered into his account from this Ministry’s account which was also indicated in his personal account. It was aswell addressed in the letter of explanation.

( I must expressly state that the whole schorlaship thing was cooked up to make believe that it was actually awarded)

Even with all, he was still denied the visa. Kindly refer to the attached image for the details of denial.

From information gathered here, i assisted in getting his GCMS note which clearly pointed out the schorlaship letter as the snag in his application.
I have racked my brains as to how to tackle this issue.
i would want him to reapply this time without any agent and with all the info i will be able to gather from this thread. He is awaiting admission for Phd as he has completed his masters.

How are you sure he didn't get a Ban?

This days they don't even let you know you have a ban , be re-applying.

mcobex:
He should he grateful for not getting a 5 year ban. I don't know why people think CIC don't go further to verify things. Well, since he didn't get a ban ye can apply again but this time everything has to be authentic and hopefully he will get the trv

This is a typical example....

If this denial was in less than 2 year of the earlier rejection ,.... Your case is settled even before applying.

Always stick to your gun... the first rejection has nothing to do with your course, i don't know your situation but i put it to you.

Did you ask for GCMNOTES?

That is the only place you could have seen the solution and most of the Time, ... The VO will write in your GCMNOTES, that Your educational plan is not "reasonable" if you see that, then don't apply for Visa with a change in program, "stick to your Gun" and adjust your SOP!

If you change your program,.... You will remember me.

If telling people to be more sensible is a crime , and it derails or kills the thread, i wonder what will.

You think getting a visa now in Nigeria has to do with motivation? Ok, lets agree it is, then 1 out of 100 will get a visa because it has to be spiritual.

People are wasting their monies applying for visa, People who cannot get visa , people who wouldn't even get a Dubai Visa.

Is it a crime if we add some quality control, advise people and even tell people not to apply for VISA at all? abi is this marketing firm for Canadian Government ?

Do you know the number of applications CANADA gets today? it was 10 times what it Got in January 2019, to what end? because USA visa is now a no go area, what happens next.... The same USA treatment will eventually creep in.

We Nigerians know how to kill opportunities, while you sit with your key pad and type prayers instead of realities on ground, less than 2% get study permit since Sept 2019 till date... and this is a good score?

Take this thread for example, how many successful visa was announced on this Thread number? how many application was announced?

we need to solve our problems everywhere we can in this country, even on Nairaland, it is not funny.

Bsc... Masters .. in Canada ... we all get the jerk! and the VOs too get it, so therefore you need to convince them thoroughly that education is what will take you to Canada and that the reason you want to spend that money,.... Any PHD that was rejected on this thread should raise a hand!!!

As much as we keep pushing people not to give up, lets also look deep into their chances and make them save some money, i believe in determination, but you cannot be determined by fallacy.

How successful is the Study permit this days? Let someone do a research.

Devoid of any unnecessary lies and not trying to be motivational.
Oga that grade cannot get you admitted, even if you get admitted , the highest hurdle is with the VO.

College wants your money, they will admit you, with their so expensive prices, and ask you to pay some money before Visa letter, when you get rejected and want your money , they wont give you 100%.

Look for a way to upgrade that GPA around here first or look else where, my 10 cents, always sarcastic.
