Tough one though, but there is no gain saying it wont work... You need like stiffer and more concrete answers and replies that baffles the VO, mesmerize them and show some quality! I am in no way disputing your simple approach to travelling, but this guys just want reasons not to give you the visa and you are there to give them that reason why they should, so you see that there should be more, am sure the 2014 UAE stamp wont be on that very passport? But all in all, Pray and do a Psalm that better fits your condition if your are a christian! surely. abiolagenius: Ok let's Assume you are the VO with those Questions here are my answer's.. 1.i'm going to attend my cousin's Graduation coming up in May. 2. I work with so nd so company.. I work as an Admin officer there.. 3. My Uncle 4.UAE 2014 5. 10-14 days 6. First for graduation and after that do some sight seeing with my uncle as it will my first time going to the US.
I hope i answered well.. |

Expect... -Why are you going to US? -What are you doing in Nigeria? -what is your relationship with the person. -where have you travel to ursef before? -how long are you staying? -what will you be doing? The truth is that, they will give you. abiolagenius: Ok thanks.. Please my Uncle that's inviting don share same maternal or pertanal surname with me hope this wont be an issue?
Also what process should i expect once i reach the US embassy Abuja? My interview is 7:30am which means i have to be there like 6:30am. |

Nothing to feel serious about.... The first VO has interviewed one or Both of you before, and probably rejected it. Secondly, Did he ask for what you do and how much you earn? (he may have seen it as illogical of a trip to spend so much) You didnt name the countries that your wife has been insisting on that you guys went to (are the stamps of this countries on that very passport you handed the VO?) There are cases where you say you have been to a country and it is only on the older passport that you submitted, maybe you guys have done a renewal of passport, more likely , you guys may have clashed in explanation...take for Instance Husband said "rwanda" and wife said "kigali"... though both are correct but it sounds confusing unless he tries to make a meaning out of it and like you know they hardly stress their brains. Apply again, this time, let one person stand slightly behind the other and only answer when asked or if the VO wants a confirmation from you. N.B Most of this countries people shout that they have been to are mostly Dubai, Zimbabwe , Angola, Ghana, when you tell a VO that you have been to germany, spain and Australia,... The respect is right there on their faces, Immigrants can't leave Australia to go to USA, that is when you hear them ask you to tell them about your trip to those places. Just apply again. icanfixitmyself: Hi everyone & I hail all the gurus in the house, I & my family (family of 3) appeared for our b1/b2 interview yesterday and it went thus: Vo (polite lady) : good morning We: good morning (chorus) Vo: passports Me: slide in passports Vo: why a you going to america Me:...for our annual vacation... Vo: where do u work Me: I work wit Co xyz as blabla (my post) Vo: what do u do (to my wife) Wife: answered wit even more confidence than I did Vo: have u traveled out of nig before (still focus on my wife) At this point when my wife started highlighting country we've bn together as family and other countries she's been to for trainings the VO stopped her & asked one of the staffs (a guy) to lead us to the next counter & told him she had interviewed us...fast forward to d next counter Vo(a guy with earphone on his ears): good morning Wife&I: good morning Vo: passport please Wife: handed them over Vo: typing for almost 2mins without asking us anytin (at this point my anxiety level had gone up).... Vo: why are u going to america Me: we are going 4our annual vacation &... Vo: have u traveled out of nig b4 Me: told him where we've bn to together...wife also came in to defend countries she's been to for trainings (wife later told me I wasn't answering wit. Confidence enough & that was why she had to step up to d occasion) Vo: returned all our confirmation pages printout & held onto our passport typing for almost 2-3mins (I'm sure pple behind must av bn wondering wat was going on) Vo: brought blue paper wit their sorry msg& now returned our passports Notice of the day: 1. I've never seen nor heard this b4 I mean move 4rm one counter to another 2. The VO.1 (d lady) had enough blue papers (denial papers) on her desk which she has been denying pple with but not a single white one (approval paper) was sighted. 3. Vo.2 typing for almost 2mins without putting a question tru to us... (though we blv d Lady must av communicated with him abt us, just our belief...)

I will tell you something... The Visa is completely on your answers and application (DS-160), Your composure. If you used an agent, make sure he gives you a copy of what he filled in your DS-160 form, so that your answers are in tandem to the filled. Be positive, ... Have a good reason to give for having to travel for Just graduation, a Man once jokingly said "America is a great country that's why he wants to visit'. Don't sound like everyone when asked a question that require some affluence of your mind. Don't answer with too much words unless you have to explain. abiolagenius: 1.That was the earliest date available when i was booking.. 2.Yes its B2 3.Ok i will go with both. 4. Yes i know.. What i'm asking is that is it compulsory to go with it and if they ask for it do they keep it with them or they just check nd return back. And what are my chances of getting the visa thanks |

My question is ... 1. Why did you choose a Very Far date? 2. What category of Application did you make ? B-2? 3. The invitation Letters would accompany you (Though may not even be asked in Most cases). 4. Statement Account is basically for who is Funding the trip. (Take the appropriate) abiolagenius: Hello guys.. i have been following this Thread for a while now and all i can say is that it has really been insightful.. Thank you everyone for your contributions.
Please i have an interview at Abuja Embassy on the 21st of March, my cousin is inviting me for her graduation in May and the invite carries the school's letter headed paper also her dad which is my Uncle also sent me an Invitation to come and visit amd attend his daughter's graduation who is my Cousin. Now on my DS form here are some informations i filled I'm single I work as an Admin officer with a private contracting and Supply firm that belongs to my father.. I'm 24 years a Graudate I earn 140k monthly I have travelled to UAE once I'm paying for my trip Please what are my Chances based on these info? i'm aware that the way i answer interview questions also matters. Also pls is it compulsory to go with a Bank statements and do they collect it? please i await your response guys.. Thanks |

She applied almost immediately she was denied , 2 weeks later! Don't appeal, Just get her to be less under pressure, you know the whole "thingY" with American Visa application and interview, puts everyone at some kind of edge , even some one that has the right intent of just going and coming back will get there and be shaking. Give her sometime , like about 2 weeks , don't change most things in the DS-160, reapply as it were. You can apply as much as you can, but give her some composure if you can, that what basically fail first-timers Lovesexy: I filled out the DS 160 application for her, I am her only child. She is 54 years old. She doesn't really speak English, both times she went she needed an interpreter. If I may ask, in what space of time did your mom do hers. I really want my mom to come and help me out. I can petition for her, but it will take longer than the visa and also she doesn't want to live our dad al by himself for that long. That is why she doesn't want to stay long. |

Don't stop trying, The more she tries shows some extent of desperation and her desperation will be considered. In Life, good things don't come easy. Her composure may give her away though, her responses to the questions asked may also play her apart from the intent on the application. Get her to keep her mind at rest apply and smile often, look into the VO's face more. My Mum did hers for 3 times before finally being considered, it is nothing to worry about but i wonder what could be the issue, you said you are a Citizen, so... are your younger ones or elder ones citizens too? How old is she? Lovesexy: Please I wanted to ask immigration officer's in this forum, is there anything that I am doing wrong trying to invite my mother to the US. I first applied for Visa for her last year 2018 in May for my graduation, they didn't issue her. This year 2019 again (this past monday) I applied for her again and still no avail with all the necessary documents giving to her. She told me that the officer didn't even collect the documents from her. Even I mailed some documents to the embassy as well. I just wanted her to come for a month to help me because I am pregnant with twins and I am a US Citizen. My husband is still in Nigeria awaiting his papers. I am the only one here, the plan was if my mom comes and after her stay we will all go back to Nigeria. But I don't know what else to do, is it advisable to try and apply for visa again for her within two weeks. I really need her help. Any advise will be gladly appreciated. Help a sister please and thank you. |

They will listen to you... at the interview date .. -Ask you the relationship (Most important) I have an application like that, The applicant is so Rich he could build a new Embassy for them. His niece sent him an invite, he got there. Only his passport was requested, He almost hasn't been anywhere in a long time, no other papers was even requested. He got denied. My question is ... A Little Insight
I think the main thing with being on this page is that we should just keep going straight up without looking both sides for assurance or certainty, we have to be VISA YES!!! no Rules.
Am sorry if i have disenfranchised alot of People, I may not have noticed, I should also have know i am here with Nigerians where everything is possible no matter how absurd or irregular it may seem. As a Science student if one situation is different , it is classed a Situation that doesn't work or Exist. It has to work for at least a percentage number of people to be deemed a feasibility. But here, if it worked for one person 10 years ago or yesterday, it is a way! Who Cares about the procedure?
I follow some foreign pages like Quora , and IMMHELP, ... I am amazed at how they offer advise. A "NO" is a "NO", A YES is a YES! Nigerians are a difficult bunch of people, living on probabilities and prayers, how about common sense?
I have not helped anyone, said by someone here, .. when i help i have to come to your house to tell you. The truth is bitter, that is the only thing i am sticking with, if you don't like it jump my Moniker. |

Very good! You said you are there on a One yearVisa! You said there are more Nigerians in Ur school than in another school? ( RCCG church isnt a Meeting point for Nigerians Schooling, there are catholic churches and the many more around). When an analysis is made , it doesn't kill the point it tries to dissect, rather it gives you an in depth knowledge of it entirety! I repeat, College reduces your chance of a VISA, (I saw something like a "1 Year Visa", You didnt give reasons why it should even be like that, or does being College also make you a 1 Year Visa Type unlike the University guys who get till expiration?) If you can get admission to a MSC, Please do,... if you can't, then Be ready to work harder in your application with a College!!! Naijaforeigner: Hello sir, I am open to learning. How did you come about your percentage? Please tell me how college reduces your chances of visa approval.
With all due respect sir, there are more Nigerians in Fanshawe college than in Western university of Ontario (both schools in London, you can check school websites to confirm). I am not telling you what I heard or read online, neither is this beer parlour gossip. I am telling you what I am presently experiencing at the moment. In my program, Logistics and supply chain management, we have 4 Nigerians in my class. The RCCG church in London Ontario (the largest and only RCCG church for blacks in London is filled with lots of Fanshawe students). You know the funny thing, we all are on 1 year visa and I am the only one that applied from London, UK, others were from Nigeria. I see so many blacks from other programs every day in school.
Before you put out figures, make sure you have proofs to back them up. |

Is doing a Medical a prerequisite for Approval? I doubt (I stand corrected) Being pregnant is actually going to be a new development away from your application when it reflected on your medical, so Yes! it could go both ways ruthnnedi: Good evening everyone!
I just want to share this testimony in order to give hope to June, July and August 2018 applicants that are still waiting.
My husband got admission into university of Alberta (masters), We applied for visa (am accompanying my husband) since 5th June 2018. Since then on response from the VO (no medical request) We loss hope, even forgotten about our application (we moved on with our lives).
On the 14-2-2019 we got mail from VO for medical request. Our applications lasted 8 months and some days.
My problem now is am pregnant! Pls I hope it won't affect my medical report or my chances of getting visa. Thank you |

No Problem sir... Is Any Visa Assured even with the best documents and comportment? But it can be said that you chances are high with ur situation and documents? Using College reduces any chance if you have at all. so if you have a 75% Chance, College reduces it by 10%. I did not say College isnt good, but it dents you when it was meant to upgrade you application. #FACT 042viber12: I don't bliv that sir.... |

I will quickly point out here in my sarcastic way, the desperate way we want to travel out of this by falling into all sort of troubles. I have someone on my neck right now hell bent on college... I gave my simple advice, "college is 10% Visa Assurance! They insisted we try, and the college policy is that they pay 10,000 Dollars for admission letter! I advised against it but they insisted. Let us be careful and slow to act. Startup00: My brother got admission in to Fanshawe College in Ontario for PGD via a travelling Agent and all payment for school fees was made via the Agent. He was denied visa early last year and he deferred his admission till September. He later had to defer his admission again till January because he didn’t get a response from the embassy about his visa application. Unfortunately he got denied late November and we’ve been on her neck for the refund of school fees till now. Yesterday she’s told us she has gotten an alert of 2.8mllion for the refund while we paid a total of 4.3million to her. I have tried checking the college refund policy and I still don’t understand why the money is been reduced from her end. Pls has any one have such encounter with Fanshawe College before and how about there refund policy because we feel she’s scamming us due to the 4months it took her to get back to us. |

I would also like to find out if one can do additional work (not coop) while you are a student using your normal study permit, and how soon after arrival can you start work (the work is in the u university's health facility, so it's not a graduate assistant ship). Once again, There are no peak periods in US B1/B2 appointment , People confuse Lagos with things been erratic.(Every time in Lagos is Peak) All year round Most embassies in Lagos are Flooded with application, The ones down North aren't that populated with applications. Abokis don't go to US or CANADA like every other tribe down East, South, West .... They prefer UK. Even Canada Has more Applications than US in Nigeria now, The rush has been diverted, now it is Canada, but Canada will only ask for your documents to be submitted, soon am sure they will inculcate the immediate style of admission. OmoBendel24: And @the purple coloured part includes peak periods, abi? Your air of authority in yarnings sha, hian! Of course people may cancel appointment and it becomes up to the fastest finger to snatch, but that you downplay scarcity of appointment dates like you just did above, that isn’t correct. You have some idea, but reduce the authority with which you assert, please.... |

God bless you bro, I was worried. Most people use agents and they come here and sound like they are the ones who applied themselves. Agents will say there are no dates again that they have to pay someone to give them an earlier date. No matter what, dates for B-1/B-2 cant be more than 2 weeks available anytime you want to apply. N.B Which interview center is this please? Lagos/Abuja? Chibuking81: As I checked now, I found out that many date are still available with the closest been February 21st. Sorry to cut you short, What kind of Visa were you granted that had one 1 Year validity?( or probably your passport was to expire by 1 year)? Canada won't Grant you another Visa if you applied for Visa and didn't travel! This can only fall within the business / Tourist Trip anyway. Cancelled business meeting could arise and all that, Leisure trip is already planned out in your application and you were sure of travelling, thus you applied, Then You come up with a reason for not using it? Though i doubt your experience to an extent, I know 4 different people who didn't and have not been given again till this minute 2 Bank Manager 1 Estate surveyor 1 Business man OmoBendel24: On what authority are you saying this? Experiential or just your thinking? And that is not correct.... Not running to the airport to fly out immediately after visa approval (especially stemming from uncontrollable circumstances that reiterates your home ties e.g work related schedule change at the time, serious family matters that needed you being on ground at the time, etc) actually puts you in a trustable position/ranking in a Visa Officer’s estimation subsequently.
My previous Canada visa was valid for just a year and I didn’t use it, applied for another one and was granted a longer validity visa, till a day to passport expiration actually.
I talk this from what I have experienced, not just what I think.... I have had a couple of visas unused without renewal issues. I remember a CBP Officer at ATL telling me using a particular visa almost under pressure just to satisfy the assumed “visa condition” wasn’t necessary but welcomed me all the same to the US, just a lesson for subsequent times that was for me there. Dig? That stringent rule is mostly in our heads, not a hard and fast rule at all, please.... Regards! |
