I dont really agree with this, a girlfriend is just  a girlfriend, the only reason why people are going overbaord is because f teh location, if applicants are other nationalities i dont think they will go to that extent of proving a relationship (girlfriend) with pictures and length of relation etc etc

If the tenant is sharing a two bed room flat with his friend or relative, i think that should be sufficient.
anyway i have no experience oo so i'll leave it t teh experts

Thanks, I'm already planning to move to a new place b4 then. But when I said booking a hotel, I meant for both of us and not her alone.

Two problems show up straight away.
Your accomodation "might" not meet approval with just a single room.
This could require booking hotel room.

Reason to return might not be very strong, try to get a letter from her school stating thet she will return to finish education.

Now, if the rules were to be implemented correctly, you would be receiving a 20 years ban, but for the fact that 10 years is the maximum sentence, you have been placed in this maximum ban

I have a serious issue. I was refused just recently for overstaying my student visa by almost a year. I didn't mention this in application becos it honestly crossed my mind. I was a child then (16-18) and was sponspored by my parents. However they had some financial issue and I couldn't keep up my tuition fees. My visa expired in 2003 and I return the next year in 2004. The EC said that I witheld important information and that the refusal was made under section 320(7a). According to the EC '' because this refusal was made under section 320(7a) of the immigration rule, any future applications may be refused under paragraph 320(7b) (subject to the requirements set out in paragraph 320(7c). A refusal under paragraph 320(7b) attracts an automatic refusal of up to 10years, ''. Now I'm afraid that I may have been slammed with the 10 year ban. However my question is since the refusal was made under 320(720a) am I banned for 10years? I left the UK voluntarily and paid my own travel expenses. Do I fall into the 1year ban category instead?. Vicjustice, dis guy, omo_tier pls I am desperate for your advise. And is there something that I can do about it like using my immigration lawyer to pursue my case . I'm confused God bless u all.

^^^ Vicjustice, an European Driver's Licence can be used in Nigeria for a certain period of time. Tourists are certainly not going to obtain a Nigerian Driver's Licence for a brief stay. If I had any desire to drive in Nigeria, I would use my UK Driver's Licence, which is valid for a temporary period in Nigeria.

If I got stopped by the police, I would simply produce my UK licence, my insurance and the road worthiness certificate (if applicable) for the car I was driving. I will not offer a bribe under any circumstance, as I have not broken the law. They would have to arrest me, and charge me too. The NPF know where to draw the line, with regards to where their "supplement" comes from. They definitely wont get it from me.

It's a moot point though, as I have no desire to drive in Nigeria.

@ sapele I understand how you feel. I visit Nairaland everyday especially the travel section and read any topic or news that interest me on the front page, Vicjustice and Justwise are very popular here, I can say both of them are very intelligent and well versed from their responses to comments on this forum, sometimes the response especially to comments from someone that is not popular or regular here make one feels they think they no it all and always right. In my view this travel section belong to them and some folks here and not to nairalanders. My brother please no vex, you can only be seen as a good person on travel section if you always agreed with their views especially Justwise. Vic justice is already calling for your post to be deleted.

SIR, ACTUALLY I WANTED TO SAY THAT, I DIDNT OVERFLOWED MY PASSPORT NUMBER, THE PASSPORT NUMBER WAS OVERFLOWED IN MY CAS( CONFIRMATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF STUDIES) BY THE CAS ISSUING AUTHORITY

EXAMPLE:

THE PASSPORT NUMBER SHOWING IN MY CAS IS     XX121134
WHILE MY ACTUAL PASSPORT NUMBER IS                XX12134

THIS IS THE TYPING MISTAKE IN MY CAS SIR. WHEN I REALIZED THAT MISTAKE DONE BY  UKBA ,I HAD SUBMITTED MY DOCUMENTS TO THE EMBASSY.

MY ORIGINAL PASSPORT NUMBER IS WRITTEN CORRECT EVERYWHERE ELSE IN DOCUMENTS SUCH AS CAS, VISA APPLICATION,PASSPORT,MY RECEPIT

   I understand the following are the basic requirement for visa application but i will like to know what a youth corper will need to submit in the place of letter of identification from employer and the letter of annual leave or permission to travel bearing in mind that corpers are not allowed to travel during the service year, thanks

*Valid international passport.
*Six months bank statement-try to avoid lump deposit of money.
*Photocopies of the applicant's I.D card-school id, work id,nysc id, etc.
*Covering letter from the bank confirming the authenticity of the bank statement.
*Letter of identification from employer or from applicant's university or school.
*Letter of annual leave or vacation or 'permission to travel' from employer or applicant's school.
*Tax clearance certificate of the applicant or that of the sponsor.
*Invitation letter from relative in UK clearly stating his home address and telephone number, nature of relationship to applicant, purpose of the visit, etc.
*Coloured copy of sponsor's biodata passport page.
*Utility bills of the sponsor or applicants <not really necccessary though.
*Mortgage or tenancy deeds of sponsor
*Six months payslips of sponsor
*Property deeds of the applicant (if the applicant is a dependant, he should attach the property deeds of his parents)
*CSCS share certificates (i cant remember what it is called, but the pdocument from CSCS listing all the stocks and their value that an individual has in the Nigerian Stock Market)
*Any other financial document- bonds, fixed deposits, etc.
