Dis Guy:
I dont really agree with this, a girlfriend is just  a girlfriend, the only reason why people are going overbaord is because f teh location, if applicants are other nationalities i dont think they will go to that extent of proving a relationship (girlfriend) with pictures and length of relation etc etc

If the tenant is sharing a two bed room flat with his friend or relative, i think that should be sufficient.
anyway i have no experience oo so i'll leave it t teh experts
That's what you think, fair enough to think so. But if you are inviting a woman into a country, and you claim that the woman is your girlfriend, isn't the onus on you to prove your claim?
And even if you're inviting an ordinary friend, you'd still be required to prove your friendship.
Also, as for the accommodation details; the fact is, you would not be eligible to invite a person to reside in a house which you do not have any documented tenancy rights to; this is the regulation

Thanks, I'm already planning to move to a new place b4 then. But when I said booking a hotel, I meant for both of us and not her alone.
Everyone knows that Boyfriend and Girlfriend relationship issue is supposed to be a home and family affair, so, booking a hotel is something odd and suspicious, booking a hotel would be ok if you're merely inviting a sex partner.

Two problems show up straight away.
Your accomodation "might" not meet approval with just a single room.
This could require booking hotel room.

Reason to return might not be very strong, try to get a letter from her school stating thet she will return to finish education.
nwabobo:
Thanks for your response above Vicjustice,

Do U reckon I book a hotel accommodation for the period which she would be around if I am not able to move to a place where I would get a tenancy agreement?
Absolutely NO. Do not book a hotel for your "girlfriend" to stay, she needs to stay with you as a partner in a valid and genuine relationship. And because, you are inviting her as her boyfriend, and she is applying for the visa as your girlfriend, booking a hotel would be a miscalculated step which may result in suspicion and eventually in visa refusal, that would be a wrong thing to do.
Get yourself an accommodation with a tenancy agreement, and until that is achieved, do not apply for the visa
I am sorry, just admit it. Knowingly the Immigration Rules/Legislation or haven gone through the process yourself, you should know that there is no way your previous and present offence would in anyway be added up. UKBA has repeatedly made it clear that it is the last of the strings of offences that the counting date of the ban would begin. Hence in Her case, it was obvious that if she were to serve the ban, it would begin from Her most recent.
I really do not need to read your long and vain epistle, i just want to insist that you have problem understanding my English, or perhaps, due to grievances. Read this quoted line carefully and get the English right.
Vicjustice:
From what you narrated, you were not given the 10 years ban based on your overstaying in the UK, but rather for withholding the information, and that  places you in the category of those who try to obtain the UK visa by means of deception, and this act attracts the 10 years ban
If you still can't understand that i never suggested that bans could be added up, that's up to you

nwabobo:
What is your accommodation details?     I live in a room in a shared flat but do not have a personal tenancy agreement.
My friend, this is enough reason for visa refusal; ideally, you do not have the authority to invite someone to reside in a house that you do not have the documented tenancy rights to.

nwabobo:
Does she work?               No, she is a final year student in the Uni, I want her to apply after her 1st semester
Unfortunately, many Nigerian students have demonstrated that schooling in Nigeria is not worth something to return home for, therefore, this might not be enough home obligation, but nevertheless, it may be as well be a good obligation depending on what she is studying and how she's doing well in the studies: for example, a 200 level Engineering student stands a better chance than a final year student of History.
@ First Part in bold, seemingly not correct. You do not get cummulative ban. You only serve your most recent. Check the UKBA internal guide for ECOs. Clearly stated there.
I quote myself in context:
. . .From what you narrated, you were not given the 10 years ban based on your overstaying in the UK, but rather for withholding the information, and that  places you in the category of those who try to obtain the UK visa by means of deception, and this act attracts the 10 years ban
Now, if the rules were to be implemented correctly, you would be receiving a 20 years ban, but for the fact that 10 years is the maximum sentence, you have been placed in this maximum ban
So, what part of my English is it that you don't seem to understand? Tell me the line of my post that justify your claim that i suggested accumulative ban

jenny2007:
HiHi vicjustice, omo_tier and everyone here in the house,
I have a serious issue. I was refused just recently for overstaying my student visa by almost a year. I didn't mention this in application becos it honestly crossed my mind. I was a child then (16-18) and was sponspored by my parents. However they had some financial issue and I couldn't keep up my tuition fees. My visa expired in 2003 and I return the next year in 2004. The EC said that I witheld important information and that the refusal was made under section 320(7a). According to the EC '' because this refusal was made under section 320(7a) of the immigration rule, any future applications may be refused under paragraph 320(7b) (subject to the requirements set out in paragraph 320(7c). A refusal under paragraph 320(7b) attracts an automatic refusal of up to 10years, ''. Now I'm afraid that I may have been slammed with the 10 year ban. However my question is since the refusal was made under 320(720a) am I banned for 10years? I left the UK voluntarily and paid my own travel expenses. Do I fall into the 1year ban category instead?. Vicjustice, dis guy, omo_tier pls I am desperate for your advise. And is there something that I can do about it like using my immigration lawyer to pursue my case . I'm confused God bless u all.
I should be honest with you. First of all, as you turned over 18 years (when you overstayed your visa), you were considered an adult responsible for your own actions, therefore, your overstaying in the UK alone attracts up to 10 years ban, but from what you narrated, you were not given the 10 years ban based on your overstaying in the UK, but rather for withholding the information, and that  places you in the category of those who try to obtain the UK visa by means of deception, and this act attracts the 10 years ban. Now, if the rules were to be implemented correctly, you would be receiving a 20 years ban, but for the fact that 10 years is the maximum sentence, you have been placed in this maximum ban.
And unfortunately, you can do nothing about this, do not bother wasting your money on any solicitor as they can not do anything to overturn the ban; know that you have no lawful ground on which to challenge the decision since there are evidence that you are actually guilty of the Immigration rules violation

Siena:
^^^ Vicjustice, an European Driver's Licence can be used in Nigeria for a certain period of time. Tourists are certainly not going to obtain a Nigerian Driver's Licence for a brief stay. If I had any desire to drive in Nigeria, I would use my UK Driver's Licence, which is valid for a temporary period in Nigeria.

If I got stopped by the police, I would simply produce my UK licence, my insurance and the road worthiness certificate (if applicable) for the car I was driving. I will not offer a bribe under any circumstance, as I have not broken the law. They would have to arrest me, and charge me too. The NPF know where to draw the line, with regards to where their "supplement" comes from. They definitely wont get it from me.

It's a moot point though, as I have no desire to drive in Nigeria.
Easier said, Siena. But how would you like to be unnecessarily stopped and frequently questioned at length even though you know you've done nothing wrong and that your documents are updated and valid?
The NPF knows that you're clean, but they would do anything to delay you and force you into "sorting" them in order to minimise the unnecessary delay. If one decided to give them money just to let sleeping dog lie, i don't reckon such person as a briber, but rather as a victim of police robbery.
Why would i be interested in writing down the numbers on a police officer's badge and taking it to higher authority when i know that 200 Naira will save the stress?

I don't accept that "Justwise and Vicjustice" are so foolishly arrogant that "they would only see those who agree with their opinions as good people", and i don't accept that if someone makes a true and reasonable comment the two would turn it into falsehood. But if anyone makes any misleading comment, it is everyone's responsibility to respond and put things right to prevent damage; and Sapele_Don's contributions in this matter are dangerous

SIR, ACTUALLY I WANTED TO SAY THAT, I DIDNT OVERFLOWED MY PASSPORT NUMBER, THE PASSPORT NUMBER WAS OVERFLOWED IN MY CAS( CONFIRMATION OF ACCEPTANCE OF STUDIES) BY THE CAS ISSUING AUTHORITY

EXAMPLE:

THE PASSPORT NUMBER SHOWING IN MY CAS IS     XX121134
WHILE MY ACTUAL PASSPORT NUMBER IS                XX12134

THIS IS THE TYPING MISTAKE IN MY CAS SIR. WHEN I REALIZED THAT MISTAKE DONE BY  UKBA ,I HAD SUBMITTED MY DOCUMENTS TO THE EMBASSY.

MY ORIGINAL PASSPORT NUMBER IS WRITTEN CORRECT EVERYWHERE ELSE IN DOCUMENTS SUCH AS CAS, VISA APPLICATION,PASSPORT,MY RECEPIT

BUT ITS INCORRECT IN CAS. NOW GUIDE ME PLZ
It is one thing if the Visa Officer suspects that you're making an attempt to conceal something, but another thing if they understand that there was an error.
Now, if your passport has never committed any violation before, they may see the number error as a mistake which they will write a brief text on as a remark. If your passport has never committed any violation, You should be fine; no worries.

I understand the following are the basic requirement for visa application but i will like to know what a youth corper will need to submit in the place of letter of identification from employer and the letter of annual leave or permission to travel bearing in mind that corpers are not allowed to travel during the service year, thanks

*Valid international passport.
*Six months bank statement-try to avoid lump deposit of money.
*Photocopies of the applicant's I.D card-school id, work id,nysc id, etc.
*Covering letter from the bank confirming the authenticity of the bank statement.
*Letter of identification from employer or from applicant's university or school.
*Letter of annual leave or vacation or 'permission to travel' from employer or applicant's school.
*Tax clearance certificate of the applicant or that of the sponsor.
*Invitation letter from relative in UK clearly stating his home address and telephone number, nature of relationship to applicant, purpose of the visit, etc.
*Coloured copy of sponsor's biodata passport page.
*Utility bills of the sponsor or applicants <not really necccessary though.
*Mortgage or tenancy deeds of sponsor
*Six months payslips of sponsor
*Property deeds of the applicant (if the applicant is a dependant, he should attach the property deeds of his parents)
*CSCS share certificates (i cant remember what it is called, but the pdocument from CSCS listing all the stocks and their value that an individual has in the Nigerian Stock Market)
*Any other financial document- bonds, fixed deposits, etc.
The red highlighted line has said it all, so, Coppers may not be issued a visa on that ground

Can't you write in standard English to make people understand you?
Did you mean you overflowed your passport number by entering an extra number like A57583841 instead of A5758384?
If so, you should be fine, the visa officer will see it and make correction which is within his rights, and unless there are other violations or you are not considered eligible for the visa applied for, no Visa Officer may refuse your application based on that number overflow
