I personally understand where you're coming from but for some of us, respect for elders (especially parents) is key in any relationship
[/quote]Do you then FORCE respect out of someone?
If i have a decent woman and i have a family known for alcoholism and all sort of nonsense, what respect would my woman be subjected to show them?

I still think that Respect is not by order nor is it by force, but by merit. So, if my family deserve the respect, she will most likely pay the respect, but if i have a horrible family deserving reproach, i won't be forcing my woman to respect such.

its hard to blive but im tellin u from what I know and had seen more than 5 different peeps doing it:
For the fact that no one know who writes what is not an avenue for us to say rubbish here.
im damn serious guys.
@poster u can go to spain nd get married to her. (expo)
Man, please, please! You are not making any sense here, Are you talking about Europe and yet coming with these ridiculous ideas?
When an EU citizen is getting married in any European country, the person is made to declare (by official documents in most countries) that s/he does not have any impediments that would make it illegal to marry; and if however the person managed to get away with it by making false declarations, the chance that s/he will be caught in the future is 99.9%, and you know what that means: the marriage is doomed.
It is a different thing if a person is married before in Nigeria (like many Nigerians are), and then remarries as though s/he is single: this is because, Nigeria does not have such authentic database, thus making it easy for anyone to fake any thing with any desired status. But in Europe, it is different, absolutely and strictly different.
And, regarding your point that thousands of people have same names around the world, now, do these people also have same Date Of Birth and Personal/National Security Numbers? Absolutely NO. If you live in Europe, you would know that European authorities do not really identify people by their given names, they identify individuals by their Date Of Births and ultimately by their Personal Identification Numbers/Codes.
You also suggested that he moves to Spain and get legally married there, how can he do that, by hiding on the back of a Lorry, and besides, is Spain not in the EU?
   Please, don't be too funny.

Its possible to get married to her provided you take her out of ireland and take her to another eu country . I am saying this cos I know a friend that did this with a british lady. But if you remain in ireland, gettin married to her might land u guys in wahala cos I believe her 1st marriage would had been registered in ireland. Also, if she had registerd her 1st married in her country,it will be impossible for her to get her single certificate in her country, so if eventually u get married with her,u cant go nd register your marriage in latvia.
look for a new girl cos she will later land u in big wahala, Bliv me.
What Europe are you talking about?
This comment makes me wonder if there is another Europe that you are refering to.

nairalanders, i need your advice. I have a girlfriend who is giving me serious pressure that she me to marry her. She is from Latvia.  I told her from the begining of our friendship that i dont have paper O, and she insist marrying me. Now she want to marry me. and i'm scared. but my main concern is she has once married in 2006 but she told me it was a contract marriage then between him and a pakistan woman, but the pakistan guy has returned to pakistan finally and never allowed to return from pakistan, so he gets hooked in paki.   My girlfriend is now worried how she get divorce, but she has prove that they've been seperate for 2 years, and normaly i think its 4 years. Pls i need your advice. What do u think we can do to get married legally? And Do u think i'm safe? She lives in republic of ireland, i lives in belfast, but we have decided to live together and i will be moving with her in few weeks.  But i need your advice, ideas about this marriage issue. She even told me that we should go to Nigeria and get married there, but i told him that her country embassy will rea;ize that she's already married with a paki man in ireland. Now she start crying all over again because she's desperate to marry me.
The main point is she is ready to marry me legally so i can have my paper too, but her divorce issue with the pakistan man in pakistan is blocking us. And she has sent a document to the pakistani man in pakistan to sign and send mabck with some document, but the man claim it will cost him money. She sent money to him, but this pakistan man pocket the money and change his number. WHAT DO WE DO PLS?
Friend, i live in Ireland, and i'm in a very good position to advice you on this.
First of all, know that the Irish Ministry of Justice, Equality and Law Reform has in recent period declared war on Pakistani citizens involved in sham marriages with Latvians women, and therefore have deported or jailed a good number of people to this effect.
Now, you're asking for advice on what to do, and i have this fact to tell you. It is impossible for you to marry her legally, she is not eligible for another marriage as long as she doesn't have her divorce certificate, and for her to apply for divorce, she needs to be separated from her Pakistani husband for four out of the five previous years; only after then she can apply for divorce, and how long it will take before the application is granted or rejected is another thing.
It is one thing if you're looking for a girl friend, but if you're looking for a marriage (for "paper" purpose), then look else where because, this Latvian lady is absolutely of no use

To be honest, i don't think Europe needs someone like you.
By your own admission, you entered South Africa "5 months ago with a 3 months visa", and things were very tough for you until you eventually found a South African syndicate who introduced you to an (undisclosed) contract, now, within a couple of months, you have made so much money that you can confidently boast of, How did you manage to make that?
There are more than enough bad eggs in Europe that there is hardly any room left for one more.

pls my nigerian passport expired april of this year, i didn't think i was gonna need to travel to nigeria, but my mom passed away this november and i need to go for her burial i already bought my ticket, pls i need suggestion on what to do. i applied for renewal of my passport. they have already given me an interview date at atlanta office but the problem is that i was reliably informed that I can't pick up the passport same day, but that the passport will be mailed to me a week later.I can't wait for the passport to be mailed to me, if i do, then i will have to cancel my flight which will cost me a huge chunk of money, and i may not even make it for the burial.

Some one pls advice me on what to do. Can i travel to Nigeria with the expired passport and then renew the passport in Nigeria before returning to USA. Do u think they will let me enter nigeria with an expired passport?
You definitely would not experience any problem leaving the United States with your expired Nigerian Passport provided you have a valid residence permit.
And, you are not supposed to have any problem entering Nigeria with your expired passport, (no normal country would object to her citizen returning home even without a passport provided the citizenship can be proven), but due to the corrupt and criminal minds of the Nigerian Immigration, you are likely going to have to pay your way into the country, but you should be fine: you passport might even be lucky to avoid being noticed.

These people sacrificed their lives for the revolutions in hope of their religion promises ie, to inherit paradise with 72 virgins, and that is worth dying for. But for those who don't believe in such, the risk involved in revolting against a deadly government is too great to overlook

And beside this is a peaceful protest. March on the street, block all major roads. Although some criminals may want to Hijack it and start looting.
You call this a peaceful protest, if so, then what is a violent one? Remember that looting and robbing people of their properties are not protest

yes o,let me narrate what  happened to me last week,i went to a a small clothes shop to buy some clothes, after  buying and paying for the clothes,i forgot my wallet in the shop containg bank cards and most importantly my id card,it was much later in the day that i discovered my wallet was missing,i quickly ran to the bank to cancell the credit cards,i decided to go back to the shop to check and was so happy when the owner of the shop confirmed to me that it was there i forgot it,he then told me that he had handed the wallet over to two policemen patrolling his area and that i should just go the police station.
With confidence i marched to the state police station only to recieve the biggest shock of my life, the police denied ever recieving anything of such, not ready to take no for an answer i insisted and they searched through their lost and found items and yet my wallet was not among,i had to go back to the shop owner who then followed me back to the station to confirm that he had indeed as a good citizen hannded over my document to the police,my brother to cut a long story short the policemen that my documents were given to THREW IT INTO THE TRASHBIN, to say i was shocked is an understatment,i am thinking of  taking a lawyer to sue them but in the meantime i have to apply  again for a new id card which will cost me 3o euros in taxess and more than a month b4 a new id card is issued to me meanwhile i was supposed to travel tommorow, now i cant do that anymore cause of the missing id.so my people no be only naija police bad eggs dey, them plenty for here too,may GOD help us all o
frankkky:
i believe they(the policemen) must have taken the cash that was in the wallet 480euros 75 cent, that was why they threw the wallet away,na wah o huh
Giving the benefit of doubt, somehow, i have the feeling that the €480.75 cent is an after thought make-up, pardon me if i'm wrong.
The 10 reasons why i question your claim:
1) In your first post, you didn't make mention of this money, THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE YOUR MAIN CONCERN, but the fact that you omitted it is questionable.
2) The Shop management (according to regulation and protocol) must have looked into your wallet before handing it over to the police, so, such (money) content must have been noted.
3) The Police would not dump the wallet into a bin (where it can be found) if they indeed stole money from it, they would have completely destroyed it
4) Anyone who uses a wallet will agree that it is highly unlikely that you know the exact amount in your own wallet, but the fact that you are so accurate of the sum (€480.75) in your wallet is questionable.
5) The shop management must have kept the wallet for some reasonable time (in expectation of your return for it) before handing it over to the police, but yet, with so much money in it, it took you a whole while to realise it absence
6) Whenever something like this happens, it is logical for us to claim that money was involved and is now missing.
7) Though, it can happen, but hardly would western police officers steal money from a wallet that was handed to them by the management of a shop, such property are usually documented and are on record.
8 ) You are in Europe, you do not need to rush to your bank to cancel your card, everyone does that by phone
9) Except there are other criminal contents in the wallet, otherwise, since the wallet contains your Id and other cards, it is the duty of the store management to contact you, not the Police.
10) There is supposed to be a documentary evidence of the shop management handing the wallet to the police, and this is supposed to have been done at the Police Station, it will be silly and irresponsible for the management to hand over such sensitive property to just any man in police uniform. Peace

tokszeeeee:
Hello All,

i have a 2years US valid visa to expire by Feb 20th 2012.

i have not used it for once due to cash challenge.

PLS ADVISE ME, WILL the embassy renew it for me even if i dont use it AT ALL huh

MUST I USE IT?

i need your good counsel

Thank you
First of all, bear this in mind: the fact that you were issued a 2 years visa and did not use it will not have any negative effect on your next visa application, rather it gives you an overwhelming advantage in subsequent visa applications. Also, know that the concern of every visa officer is the fear that an applicant is desperate to leave the country by any means. But as for a person who was issued a visa and did not use it, that fear is eliminated.
At this stage, i will advice you not to bother to use this visa now that the expiring day is near because, you might be refused entry as they may consider you posing an immigration risk, and do not make the mistake of letting them know your financial circumstance.
My advice is, allow this visa to run out and apply for another one (only) when your financial status has improved
But may i know the category of visa that you were issued, and what was your intended purpose for visit?

This indicate that you're an international driver because, most Nigerian drivers still do not know that it is a violation to drive on the fast lane; this is a major cause of accident since the vast majority of the road users have never taken driving lessons before
