Well, i thought this thread was a handy grenade, but how it turned into a nuclear bomb simply shows how scam conscious Nigerians are, and therefore, Nigerian can hardly trust any Nigerian establishment. @ 1-WORLD, i can see that you came in to make a brief contribution and therefore, i think maybe you need to prove yourself before the doubters: i hope your username is not under a banned or something for reason of spamming; If so, i'll encourage you to create a new account to make your contribution pending the release of the original username. |

alfablondy: I see no reason why Vjustice should be codemned for his opinion and recommendation of this travel agent. the onus is on the would be client to do his own research to find out whether he should do business with them or not.
who says Vjustice cant be wrong in his judgement. he can as well be right if the agent delivers. however No agent can guarantee you Visa. a legitimate agent will only submit genuine documents provided by you on your behalf.
I personally will not recommend any agent for anybody. if u want to get visa apply yourself through the right channel. Please, tell them |

collinsfbi: From the few questions I asked 1WORLD sometimes ago abt his company capacity to help applicant in getting a job after the expiration of their programmes, his response to my question was nt encouraging claiming he did not promise anybody a job which simply means pple will be left to face their fate after paying so much to travel to south America to learn spanish and soccer training. This is one of the reasons i'm offering my trust to this company; yes, the fact that it doesn't promise jobs or stability to clients in the targetted countries is considerable as most dubious "agents" would promise to help their victims to even obtain citizenship. collinsfbi: It will be too bad for anyone to travel all the way from Nigeria to Paraguay and have nothing to do or find it hard to make a living after spending so much. Would these pple not turn otherwise in their quest for survival without work thereby polluting the image of Nigerians abroad? Not everyone who travels abroad does so in search of greener pasture, perhaps, the travel agency company is apparently more interested in recreational travel activities than in migration programme. collinsfbi: I think it doesn't worth it except if the company will assist applicant to get a job when through with their programmes. Again, not all people who travel abroad does so with the hope for a job. collinsfbi: Pple are just attacking one another without paying key interest on the benefits and likely consequences of this programme. I am nt trying to discourage the poster or any interested applicant but all these have to be examined. I hv heard diff stories of pple assisted to travel by an agent for a programme like this and were all left to survive in the hard in another man's land which they know nothing of. To me sometimes it's nt all abt the authencity of a company but how they are able to assist pple to the fullest. In a nutshell, the programme must be worthwhile considering the risk and cost because the lowest cost for this programme will cost nothing less than 700k with ticket.
I just want u all to examine this and I will appreciate 1WORLD to come out and clearify the prob sorrounding the address issue.
Gbammmmmmmmmm over and out. I appreciate your open mind and flexible mentality. Thanks for this meaningful contribution |

I simply made my recommendation based on my personal opinion, and it is up to anyone to exercise his or her rights to either take it or leave it, there is absolutely no need for these rants. Well, having gone through the various contributing responses, i still have no valid reason to condemn the travel agency in question, therefore, i am still of the opinion that we should let the company be. This is my judgement. |

justwise: Vicjustice with due respect to you, i think you are being stingy with the truth. I'm not at all economical with any truth, that's not my nature. Justwise and co, i appreciate your concerns. But i wish to mention here that if you're condemning the Travel Agency for reason of your Google search of the address, then, you might be getting it wrong because many small business addresses are not featured when Google-searched especially when they are not well advertised. TheCongo: OP, would you accepts liability for any lost or damage caused by 1_WORLD , or for the consequences of any actions taken on the basis of the information you provided about them?. Lol, first of all, there's no legal ground for such liability: Well, as a matter of fact, i'm only giving my reccommendation, not a command as i don't have that power. Well, you might have your reasons to doubt them, but i have a valid reason to believe in them, and as i have personally tried their legitimacy and i'm convinced beyond reasonable doubt that this is indeed a genuine and scam free agency. I know someone who was in correspondence with them as well, and this is the contents of one of her emails:
"Hi, my name is Mrs.***** ****** *****, i am responding to the info i found on your website; that your company can provide documentation to aid my visa application for Canada. Now, i do have credentials and valid documents, but i am lacking one thing and that is BANK ACCOUNT STATEMENT, so, could you help to provide this for me, and if yes, how much will that cost me? Waiting to hear for you." Now, any fake "Visa Agent" would definitely have taken advantage of this and rip her off, but how surprised i was when the agency strictly refused to participate in that. |

paris10: I thought what I witnessed was just a sort of misinterpretation on my part. But few days later, the same thing happened again!
I visited a friend in the London area at about 8pm and was gladly received. But as soon as I sat down, I noticed the lights were switched off and I couldn't even see the beauty of the house I visited. My friend, his wife and child were seated opposite to me and i couldn't even see them if not for the television that keeps illuminating and reflecting to their faces once in a while. My friend is financially ok and I couldn't conclude that he did that to save himself some money.
Few days later before travelling back to the states, I went to the same house to finalize some biz, to my disbelieve, same bullshyt happened again! I kept quite 'cause i didn't want to upset him. I thought maybe that was just him.
months later, I attended a birthday party of a female friend in London and something similar happened again. I said no, not in a party. It was a house party which was graced by almost 30 people. I got there around 9pm (late) and noticed people were dancing, but in the almost dark! I called the celebrant and asked, her response was ' Mummy switched off the light because she doesn't want to incur bills', I almost fainted and couldn't believed what I just heard.
I visited her again before leaving. And on this occasion, the mum asked me to switch off the light behind me before seating down (yeah, it was at night as well!). I called a friend and told him about my experience. His response was that it happens in most Nigerian's home in the UK. I was like na by force. Even in Nigeria that things are hard, you don't see people switching off lights whenever they've got visitors!.
Don't get me wrong, I do understand how difficult it is for some, but doing it to the extreme is just too mean. Of course I switch off all lights when I don't have visitors or friends around. People are just too stingy in England, even to themselves. However, every weekend, you'll see them all dressed in new clothes, jewellery, shoes and so on, where the money coming from? I almost wanted to dispute this with you, but then i remember one incident that occurred with a childhood friend that i visited in Norwich some time ago, and i remember how he preferred to sit in darkness whenever we were watching the TV, i remember warning him of the risk and effect such long term light could impact in the eyes; i also remember thinking that the room would have been real dark if not for the glowing light from the TV. Could this really be that he was avoiding the electricity bill or was it just by coincident? |

Dear, i appreciate your interest to correspond with me privately, but i'm of the opinion that whatever it is that you desire to know personally might be more beneficial to others if shared. Also, remember that, though i might have experience and knowledge of some issues, but yet that doesn't make me know all things as i sometimes find myself relying on the contributions of other members of this site on some matters or questions that i don't have an answer to. Remember, no one can take advantage of you if you don't allow the room for the advantage. embsyNEWS: Please if anybody is going for an interview at the American embassy Abuja. There is a sadist who does not even look and sound American, but surprisingly is an interviewer. She is of Asian origin. Now this is the word: if you love yourself and your family DO NOT GO TO HER WINDOW when she presses the buzzer for the next person, SHE DOES NOT GIVE! She takes about 30-45 minutes (believe me, you can verify from those who have gone to Abuja this year) to interview a person. During this time she dehumanize you emotionally until you almost start telling her 'I killed my mother', she picks on anything, just anything to get you out. My Husband and I have been regular flyer to the USA for 12years and we have 5 years UK visas, we were at the embassy with nothing to worry about, just the formalities and then they issue us a renewal. While sitting there waiting for our turn, we saw the torture from her. Elderly women, frequent flyers, professors, clergymen (those ones where the worst, even insulted their religion). We were looking 'is this for real, don't they have camera around to see and hear what this woman is doing and saying?' not even one person, while other interviewers where just dishing out the visas if you have the right documents. We were the only person she gave amongst just 13 people she managed to interview that day, she didn't still give us the visa that day, told us to come back within 24 hours with more evidence after my husband told her he will litigate if she cannot tell the reason why she is refusing us (she had already handed the refusal letter to us), she now said 'ok I have been making mistakes today and I don't want you to be a victim, bring more evidence’ . Lady we brought a whole suitcase. So you know you have been making ‘MISTAKES’ whoa! Everyone knows her, from the securities there, to the pickup drivers to tour agents, you name it. The next day we went was no difference. Well while waiting for out turn prior to our first interview, the guy just before us made a smart move. He just stood up and went to the toilet. We should have done the same, because after us others made excuses to the toilet. I hope this alert gets to the front-page many families, professionals, school kids have been her victim (Rejection without a reason). YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY NO TO HER WINDOW AND PATIENTLY WAIT FOR ONE THAT WILL AT LEAST GIVE YOU A FAIR HEARING, YES YOU HAVE THE RIGHT! If you have experienced her torturing applicants or have been a victim, please feel free to share your experience. It will go a long way to help. As someone who studied psychology, I'm not at all surprised at the behaviours of the Asian woman: The interviewer, being a female, and of Asian origin would most likely want to prove that she can do a better job than her white male colleagues, and therefore she is more likely to over-act to prove her seriousness. The same thing goes with female police officers, when you get into their trouble, they are more likely to be merciless than their male colleagues. Have you considered why short people are over-reactive when one has a dispute with them? They take this unnecessary offensive measures because they think you are trying to intimidate them for reason of their small status. |

I FILED IN AN APPLICATION TO THE HOME OFFICE WITH ALL THE NORMAL DOCUMENTATION BASE ON LIVING TOGETHER PARTNER WITH THE HELP OF MY SOLICTOR AND ON THE GROUND THAT I HAVE A CHILD WHO NEEDS MY ATTENTION WHEN THE MUM FINALLY GO BACK TO WORK, BUT MY APPLICATION WAS TURN DOWN AND I WAS NOT GIVING THE RIGHT TO APPEAL BUT ONLY JUDICIARY REVIEW (JD)
MY SOLICITOR DECIDED TO SEND THEM A PRE-ACTION LETTER GIVEN THEM 14 DAYS TO REPLY BACK FOR THEM TO RECONSIDER THE APPLICATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT THEY ONLY STATE ONE POINT WHY MY APPLICATION WAS TURN DOWN BECAUSE THERE WAS NO ENTRY CLEARANCE ALONG WITH THE APPLICATION, BUT THE OTHER VARIOUS POINT STATED BY MY SOLICITOR WAS IGNORED. IT IS 21 DAYS SINCE THAT LETTER WAS SENT AND STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THEM.
CAN ANYONE ADVISE ME THE WAY FORWARD? IS THERE ANY REASON WHY THEY HAVE NOT REPLIED. I KNOW I GOT THREE MONTHS TO FILE IN FOR JR (JUDICIARY REVIEW). WHAT WOULD BE THE OUTCOME OF THIS.
THANKS Honestly, i suppose your solicitor is in a better position to explain the situation and offer better help than anyone else in Nairaland. Wishing you all the best |

jikings: @ vi justice, Where do you get your statistics from? Do you mind sharing? If these folks are illegal as you claim then your figures are wrong whatever the source as most illegal people hardly leave any trace for statistics to take account. I'm struggling to believe your numbers except na IWU give u! Friend, can't you read between lines, where in my post did i mention that the CDs hawkers in Greece are Illegal residents? The fact is, most of the Immigrants in Greece are either holding the Adeia Paramonis (the Greek/Schengen R. Permit) or are holders the Ros-Karta (Temporal Asylum Pink Card): The Ros-Karta were readily available for anyone from Sub Sahara African countries who sought asylum in Greece, and the Greek authority was happy to issue such documents to African immigrants as they do not pose terrorist threats to the nation; (but hardly would they issue it to people from the Arab world). So, no one who does not hold any form of documentation would be foolish enough to dare the CD trade because, illegal residents who got into CD or Por'no DVD related troubles may not be released on bail, and therefore he'd be brought to a court where the judge will give him a suspended sentence, and yet, because of his immigration status, the police will deliver him to the immigration department and that would spell the beginning of a long and indefinite period of detention of which the least prison term is 3 months after which he will either be deported or granted the Ros Karta which was readily available for him in the first place. So, read between lines and you'd see that i never said these people are undocumented howbeit, the Rose Karta does not represent a Resident Permit. And as for the statistic, i was in Greece when it was assessed. So, please, don't argue about what you know nothing about. Peace. |

jikings: @ Vic Justice, There are two sides to everycoin. You piece is nice but has to be balanced. You've painted a negative picture of what life is for Nigerians in many of these countries, mostly right if you are illegal but what of the legal folks? I have travelled widely as you have as well and I must state that your perception of the life in country is a reflection of the kind of people you hang out with , This I have discovered with experience. Take UK for example if you live in East london you may want to believe that Nigerians are up to no good in UK and life is vey tough as a result of the folks you may hang out with, similar to someone vsisiting Lagos and staying in Ajegunle ( not that East london is Ajegunle) and concluding that all Nigerians are suffering. I remember my ealry days in UK and my friends were discouraging me from pursing an extra 4 years of study and join the "huzzle group" I rejected that and cut my association with them and found folks with similar ambitions and I acheived what seemd impossible to many, and there are thousands doing the same everyday in all countries. In many of t hese countries there are a sizeable number of Nigerians in many proffessional jobs and industries who you may not encounter as a result of the kind of assocation you keep. I must say that though a few folk bring disgrace to our nation, alot are working hard abroad and doing very well contributing to the growth of the economy. You don't really need to hang out with people that are considered nuisance, or to be a participant of certain activities in other to have insights of what goes on in there because, some things are well obvious to be observed even from a distance. However, i made personal integration so i may present people with a first hand information. Now, regarding job circumstances, i didn't say anything negative about Nigerians in any other country that i mentioned except Greece (chiefly), and i associated Italy and Spain. I am currently in Ireland and i know where many Nigerians were taking shameful advantages of the system generosity. Let me emphasise that in Greece, statistics had it that over 91% of Nigerian adult males agreed to have been involved in undocumented tradings, and 88% of these admitted to have been involved (at one time or another) in CDs and Por'no DVDs trade for which 74% of the CDs/DVDs hawkers have gotten into series of troubles. So now, in a country where the vast majority of Nigerians are known for degrading activities, what reasonable argument would you have for the 9% good name Nigerians? And let me remind you that Greece is not in the same league with English speaking countries like the UK or the USA etc where people from all races of humanity are expected to be citizens: Greek people as well as their police know those who are not Greeks by mainly looking at faces, so this unforced system of segregation is enough to deny the racial minorities of employments as almost every Greek person considers anyone that doesn't look like them as illegal alien ineligible for employment Note: Living in Greece for 25 years (legally) does not qualify you for Greek Passport. |

If your travels ever bring you near Los Angeles in the future, I'll love to buy a fellow traveler a beer.
