dalobaba: thank you for your fast response, what do you suggest i do, should i go for a new application or what, im thinking of going for a fresh one and then attaching a copy of the appeal form stating that my appeal was late the other time and that i guessed that was why it was not entertained. will it work that way?, thanks There is nothing you can do about a closed case, that particular application and it subsequent appeal is as good as dead. I'm not sure that you even need to come up with the appeal subject because, it is not expected of them to keep record of such invalid matter, they (most likely) dumped the papers into the recycling bin. To summarise it all, the appeal issue in your new application is utterly irrelevant. |

dalobaba: Hello, Thank you for the great job u are doing here. i had my visa application denied December 21, 2010. unfortunately i sent the appeal very late( 17th of march) and i stated the reason for the late appeal. till date, neither my representative in the uk nor me have heard anything about the appeal application. could it be that the passel did not reach there because i sent it by post, pls, i will like to know if you have any idea of this, thank you so much Unfortunately, an appeal entered or sent after the validity period is considered invalid and may not be entertained, and the appellant may never get any correspondence from the authority. This is how it is dealt with. |

olu16: Hello Justwise and other Nice people in the house, help a sister out pls! Ok, to cut the long story short. Is it possible to be granted 2years multiple entry UK visa even though I have been to the UK just once.(My only traveling experience without over staying) People are saying we might not get the two years until our third trip. So my question now is, should I apply for 6 months now, this september(renewal), and then get the 2 years next year after the second Visa must have expired. I'll be extremely grateful if someone answers my question. Thank you. It is way too early to apply for the 2 years visa, your application would be refused and your passport stamped and crossed. That is not what you want in your passport |

Chynells: Hello everyone, I applied for my UK visa on the 11th of Jluy. I still have not gotten a reply yet. i sent them a mail on the 25th of August and they said since i opted for the sms alert, i should wait for the alert. and that the visa was still undergoing verification. its quite frustrating as this is the 2nd of September who else is in this dilemma? There's absolutely nothing you or anyone can do in this situation, it's a waiting game |

Torishe: Thanks a lot just wise, you're too much. Then i'll go ahead and apply. How abt my lost passport n passport number i cant remember, do i need to swear an affidavit or i shld just inform them that i misplace it Dear, i'm not Justwise, though Justwise is more or less a comrade Now, if you wish to lie about previous application, do take special care and precautions to avoid them finding you out as the consequences may result in a 10 years ban; but if ideally you wish to apply clean, simply admit to the facts about your previous refusal. Though you may be asked to provide details of your previous Passport Numbers and the reason for your visa refusal, but bear in mind that neither their question nor your answer is essential, they are only using this to assess your level of honesty, (trust me, they have the records and know the situation better than you do). So, it is OK to answer UNKNOWN in regard to your Passport Number question, and also OK to answer CAN'T RECALL in regard to the reason for refusal. Free your mind, your case is not that bad. And in case you have further questions, do not hesitate to ask, i'll give you as much time as possible. Cheers |

Torishe: No i didnt change any information about myself. My hubby's case is another issue, he used a passport with a wrong date of birth and he also filled that date of birth on the form in 2004. Though, i'm the only one applying now, i dont know if putting his real date of birth in the column for spouse's information will be a prob to my application now. This issue has prevented from applying to the UK but i just wanna summon up courage. @Torishe It is not a rare thing for the ECO to observe discrepancies in given Dates Of Birth, so, they are aware of the fact that the DOBs of a vast number of Nigerians are highly uncertain. I have applied for a visa before entering the DOB of a relative (something that i wasn't sure of), and the visa was issued. And then, on another application, i forgot the DOB that i gave previously and i entered a totally different one: but at the end, i added a note that reads: * " Though i have honestly filled the form with as much information as i can genuinely provide, but the DOB of *** is highly uncertain as there exists no national database (in Nigeria) to keep such records and therefore, in the absence of such, i would like to state that the DOB provided is not to the best of my knowledge." Trust me, the visa was also issued despite the discrepancies: i am arguably one of the people that made the Embassy to consider adding an option for people who happen to be in this situation; and now-a-days, there is an option of "DON'T KNOW" when entering a family member's DOB. Now, you can do the same for your husband's date of birth, these people know that Nigerians (like most African nations) are not properly documented: So, you can do the same, (in the past, you could have entered a guessed DOB, but now that there's the "DON'T KNOW" option, i think it's your best bet. And remember to make a declaration of your lack of knowledge at the end claiming that the DOB of your husband is highly uncertain as there exist no national database in Nigeria to keep such record. Note: In future time, your husband may need a sworn (and permanent) Declaration Of Age in order to deal with the situation and to be considered eligible for subsequent visa application |

Adebisi33: I really don't know what to do. I've just turned 40 and I'm desperate to settle down and start a family of my own.
I'm attractive, I have a masters degree, my own house, and a great career but I can't find a nice man. I don't go to clubs and bars, and only meet white men at work, and I don't find them attractive at all.
My aunt suggested that I go to Nigeria to find a husband. She says there are a lot of men who would love to get a British Passport (I was born in England). I don't want to do this, because I don't think that's a good basis for starting a relationship.
A lot of friends have suggested that I'm too fussy, but my father says that a woman should marry a man who is equal or better than her.
All I am looking for is a man who is single, intelligent, honest and hardworking. I worry that these kinds of men are already married, or if they are single, they want to settle down with younger women.
In case you're wondering why I didn't get married before, I've been looking for a relationship since I was 22, but no black men that I met who met my criteria (single, intelligent, honest and hardworking) were interested in me. They all seemed to be taken.
What should I do?
Thanks Have you considered using Bebeye Dating Website at www.bebeye.com? There are lots of Nigerian men and women in there and better still, it is 100% free to use. Goodluck |

http://www.forbes.com/sites/mfonobongnsehe/2011/05/04/the-most-expensive-neighborhood-in-nigeria/A friend of mine met a really cute Nigerian girl at a nightclub in Lagos recently. He’s got a certain je ne sais quoi with the ladies. So he approached her, chatted her up for about an hour or so, and was lucky enough to walk away with her phone number and her house address. She asked him to visit her sometime. He promised he would, but he never did.
The reason is this: The lady lives in Banana Island, Nigeria’s most expensive residential area. There are only a few privileged men who can afford to date a girl who lives in Banana Island. My friend is not yet a part of the privileged few.
If you never heard about the Island, now you know. Banana Island is Nigeria’s most extravagant and expensive neighborhood – on par with the Seventh Arrondissement in Paris, La Jolla in San Diego, California and Tokyo’s Shibuya or Roppongi neighborhoods.
The exclusive playground of Nigeria’s obscenely wealthy, Banana Island is an artificial island built on reclaimed land in Ikoyi-Lagos. From an aerial view, the island is actually shaped like a banana, hence its name. Sitting on 1.6 million square meters, the sumptuous island is divided into about 535 plots ranging in size from 1,000 square meters and 3,000 square meters. . . http://www.forbes.com/sites/mfonobongnsehe/2011/05/04/the-most-expensive-neighborhood-in-nigeria/ While i acknowledge the fact that the Island could be skyrocketing expensive, I really don't believe the story (in the article) about the "friend" chatting up a cute girl from the Island and eventually abandoning the pursuit because the girl happened to be from the expensive neighbourhood because, i know that most guys would be glad to have such pretty (and rich girls) for themselves: so, i don't accept that a person would run away from a girl because she's rich. None of my younger ones have been able to enter the Uni. Our 4th born finished sec sch in 2008 (when I grad, imagine). My Uni admission was thru God, i was best in my sec sch and did jamb once. But Uni wasn't easy cos of lack (hunger, no money 4 trans - i trek) I did tutorials 2 sustain while my lovely parents supported wit d little they had (thank God I went to a fed. Uni wit cheap tuition then, i wonder if na 2011). I grad wit 2.2 (cgpa 3.40) damn! I dont blame anyone for that but i know i could hav don beta. . .als 2 sustain while my lovely parents supported wit d little they had (thank God I went to a fed. Uni wit cheap tuition then, i wonder if na 2011). I grad wit 2.2 (cgpa 3.40) damn! I dont blame anyone for that but i know i could hav don beta. Well, i dont consider myself an average grad and i have some network/hardware skills I aquired during IT (as I dont have money for some trainings I want to get). Now the issue at hand now is dat I really want to support my family esp my brodas, most times I feel like shedding tears b'cos of them. They re struggling, picking odd jobs like security, carwash and these are very intelligent guys. My immediate younger bro (24yrs) has been teaching in lessons since he was 18. Infact his students think he's a grad unto say ppl he taught have graduated. My nice parents are financially unstable and these have been a major challenge to their marriage (let me not go there). When I finished service, I used my savings to solve some family challenges like paying my sweet kid Sis and bro sec. sch fees as they almost droped out. (since then I've been contributing atleast 50% of it). Last yr, I picked up a teaching job (12K) staying in my home made it hard 4 me to save for anything, i hardly buy a bottle of star for myself. I did home lessons, marked waec. Its not enough and am kinda tired. I visit internet for jobs, I have passed tests and attended 2 solid engrng intvw with my 2.2 (still hoping/praying 4 one to click). I have askd ppl 4 job help, i dont ask 4 money b'cos I have always been an independent (1st born) human being. But it seems things are not happening fast. I just left my teaching job (unofficial cos of d break), family, friends and my lovely GF who really believes in me since 2009. I left to squat with a friend/classmate dat works in an engrng. firm in ondo state to try smthing else, also to leave my parents small roof. I need your help NLers to help me get smthing gud(any location). Ppl dont knw I pass thru dis b'cos i look younger than my age and i crack jokes well but bro/sis it's really eating me deep. I ask not for your pity but to gear me up cos I think (afraid) am losing steam. Thank U and God bless. I've just struggled through your heart touching post and just wondering if it's not better to rearrange the writing to make it look normal, i understand you're using your phone though; also, i'm not sure you're in the right section. |

Dear Clearmont and Dalebutt, do not argue about what you are not certain of; Juzme is very correct, a person with a UK or Irish Residence Permit does not require a visa to visit the Schengen territory provided s/he is travelling with spouse. Visas are not required for spouses of UK citizen, (irrespective of nationality) for a maximum stay of 90 days, as long as they are holding the "family member" Residence Permit issued by the United Kingdom (to a family member of an EEA national TIRGL/EEA or national of Switzerland,) provided travelling with or travelling to join the EEA national or national of Switzerland. |

What are you saying here, what embassy do you mean? Do you mean that she has to get a Nigerian document "legalised" by the Irish authority? nicola c: Hi Im Irish & my husband is Nigerian, we both live in Uk but got married in Benin, Nigeria. We have been told that we need an apostille now for our marriage cert (so we can get a schengen visa to travel to europe) as it wasnt issued here in UK, does anyone know if this can be done by Nigerian embassy in UK or does our certificate have to be returned to Nigeria to be stamped? First of all, endorsing a document with Apostille is not normally practiced in Nigeria. Now, to make your Nigerian marriage document useable in the EU states, the Nigerian embassy or consulate can endorse it with stamp and signature; but bear in mind that it takes the discretion of the embassy's Commissioner of Oath to accept or refuse to authenticate any document that is issued from Nigeria for internation purpose because, such hard documents are supposed to bear the seal of authenticity endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affair before embassy's verification: This is how it is normally and formally done. |

Please I need advise on this matter. Ukraine? Well, take these measures into account: *Be prepared to always watch your back whenever a person walks behind you as the Skin-Head racists there are extremely physical and can attack you with deadly force. * Always make sure you don't walk alone at night or in an empty street during day time. * Always make sure you're fit and athletic enough to enable you run fast for your life whenever you're being chased in the streets by their Skin-Head racists. * Prepare yourself to always elude banana missiles that are thrown anonymously at you in the streets through upstair windows. * Be prepared to get familiar with the "Hail Hitler" salute, and also with the name "Makaka" (Russian word for Monkey) without protest as protesting them may cost you blood. * You'd learn to be appreciative whenever someone says to your face "Go home Nigger" or calls you "Makaka" because, the same person could have shot or stabbed you and ran away. * Be prepared to be mockingly offered bananas occasionally, and know that you won't have any police to report the abuses to as there is no law in place against racism in Ukraine. * Ensure that you have enough funding from Nigeria to maintain yourself as you would never find a job how much more to talk about its poor wages ranging from 754 to 900 Ukrainian Hryvnia (about 70 to 85 Euros) a month. * Be prepared to sometimes sleep in extremely cold room during their biting winter as you might find it difficult to pay for the Soviet style central heater. * Be prepared to study in an ancient Greek style alphabets * Bear in mind that your education certificate will not be recognised in EU countries as you will definitely have to upgrade. * Bear in mind that you would have to return to Nigeria as soon as you finished your education because, you would not like to become a wayward person like many stranded and frustrated Nigerians before you. * If you're not yet married, then, you may benefit from the only good thing that i reckon about them, they have some of the most beautiful women in the world: tall, slim, blonde an elegant sexy girls who crave for black guys. |
