princesszizi: @Vicjustice, thanks for the prompt reply. I was actually misled into hiding that fact by someone whom I was introduced to and who claimed to be an expert in visa applications and related issues. I related my circumstances to her but she advised against my mentioning my fiancé in the applications, her reasons being that the mention of a fiancé may give the ECO the impression that I do not intend to leave the UK; that I am actually going there to settle permanently. My fiancé was supposed to send me an invitation then but she advised against it. That was how I got myself into this mess now. Pls, what do you advise me to do now? Do I forget about applying for now? I really wish I can be by my fiancé when he graduates in November.I agree with Johnkent, it is always unsafe to apply for a visa within a short time after being refused in earlier application for reason of insufficient fund: a financial situation can not genuinely change (for better) within such a short time unless you hit a jackpot. And if you are to make future application, you must avoid mentioning your fiancé except you want to forward-date your relationship |
ironbender101: Lol Bro I don't understand this statement lol. I really wanna visit the UK once I'm back to Naija. I'm currently in HK and I met a girl I really love. I wanna go visit her this December. House is there any other alternativeNow i see that i have been wasting my answers to these same questions that you are asking all over again |
dredem: @vi[quote author=VicjusticeIt depends on what you work as and how much you earn: I mean, for example, a person who works as an Engineer is a reputable company and earns N200k monthly, but has N500k in his bank account has better chance than a person who works as a Secretary in a Lawyer's office and earns N50k but has a saving of N1m |
tobey2ng: @Vicjustice,can someone applying for tourist visa get a visa without personal tax clearance because the tax was never deducted from the person salary and the person doesn't have 1.Please advise sirThere are different kind of employments, and various ways that tax regulations are complied with by employers even though the employee's salary payslips do not display the evidence of tax deductions. Therefore, i would say YES to your question; a person can get a visa without personal tax clearance if the person is not self-employed, is in a full time/permanent employment, and the company is legitimately recognized and is in compliance with tax regulation. |
princesszizi: Hi Nlanders, I am new on this forum and I appreciate the way people's questions are being answered here. I hope mine will get a similar treatment. My fiancé is running a Masters degree program in the UK and between July and August this year, I applied twice for a tourist visa to spend my summer vacation in the UK but I was refused on both occasions on the ground that I did not supply sufficient evidence of fund. Now, my fiancé wants to send me an invitation to attend his graduation ceremony in November but my problem now is that I never mentioned my fiancé in my two previous applications (though I mentioned his sister who is a permanent resident in the UK). Pls, what do I do to convince the ECO that I am genuine, having failed to mention my fiancé in my previous applications?A person who is in such a serious relationship as a Fiancé to you is definitely someone to have been mentioned in your previous applications, and for the fact that you had concealed such a serious information, you could be in some sort of trouble if they found out (that you had given deceptive answers to the questions regarding your relatives in the UK). That could get you banned for 10 years. |
ironbender101: Wow Bro thanks so much. I really need to visit UK this December... Can I pay and it will be back dated? Or can I pay and apply by December?Sure you can do that, but then, you should be talking about visiting the UK in December 2024 |
ironbender101: Wow so what else can I do? This is just the reason I don't want to apply yet. Please any other alternativeDo what is right for the legalization and the taxation of the company. ironbender101: Also my company has not started trading yet. Can I still get the TCC for a new coy? I registered in 2012 this is really giving me concern. You registered the company in 2012? Therefore, it should have 2 years of taxation record. Without this compliance, I don't see how you can get a visa with it. My recommendation is, go and pay your arrear taxes, and apply next year after you have paid the 2015 tax in time. If you go and pay the 2 years arrears and then applied for a visa, the Visa Officer would observe the date that the taxes were paid and understand that your company does not normally pay its taxes, and that you only made the payment for the purpose of the visa application, and that would mean REFUSAL. |
ironbender101: Bro 1st I want to thank you for the support so far. I want to apply for a Tourist visit visa and I'm sponsoring myself. I have all the documents as a business owner but what I don't have is Tax Clearance Certificate. I have Visited just one country(Hong Kong) 3 times this year for business. My bank account has about 2mill naira in ma personal account, I have about 3 landed properties and also tenancy agreement of my property that gives me money annually. I wanna tell them in my covering letter that I wanna go watch ma club's match for 14days in London. Should I go ahead and apply?NO, your application would be refused if you are using a business that does not comply with tax regulations as a source of income for the simple reason that your business can not be evaluated and therefore, it is deemed illegal. |
briantex: What is that? You need glasses? ![]() |
bfn1: Thank you so much.Well, there is no need to go into details because, (even if the organisation is legitimate), the invitation offer is just a complementary treat, it is by no way sufficient to award you a visa, you have to meet the full requirements for Tourist visa. These sort of offers are only good for people who do not need a visa to enter the UK, or those who already hold visas, or others who can easily satisfy the requirements for tourist visa |
dredem: Hello house,I have read this tread am am happy with the information which has empowered a lot of applicants. He doesn't have to be a relative or to bear your surname, anyone with legal status can invite you, it is just up to you to meet the requirements: you might need to explain why he is inviting you and what you intend to do whilst in the UK. |

smallscobo7: I am trying to apply for a Singapore visa for vacation and the Singapore High Commission in Abuja request i get a "LETTER OF INTRODUCTION" LOI from someone who lives in Singapore and who has a permanent residence and must be at least 21 years of age, I don't know if there is any of my Nigeria brother on here who meets the requirements and who is willing to help with the letter. I hope to read back from you all soon. Black is beautiful, Black is United..Why would you pass through this stringent requirement just to go on a vacation to Singapore, or is anything else the reason that you want to go there? If this is what is required of you, why not look else where for the vacation instead of begging absolute strangers in the internet to introduce you? Nigerians and manipulation, where is your dignity? |
Fresh38: Ok...I just went through the thread again. you've answered most of the questions. I can make deposits and withdraw from the account anytime. I actually have a current account in the same bank but I guess it's kind of complex transferring money into the current account. It would makes things complex and make me sound desperate...what do you think? It would be ok if you transferred money from one account to the other as both accounts are yours: just ensure that you provide evidence of such transaction and that the the origins of the funds are comprehensive. |
Fresh38: Ok JustWise,Actually, current account is preferred. Anyway, what matters now is the accessibility to the fund: is the money in the account readily accessible or there is a clause that regulates the withdrawals? But the questions that you are asking are the same questions that are answered in your previous post. |
Fresh38: Ok Justwise,You are probably right, I might have been having a bad mood due to earlier developments. so, given the benefit of doubts, I like to believe that you did not intend to attack me with that post. By the way, I didn't state that you are abnormal, and since you have proven to be a normal wife in a normal marital relationship, then call your husband what he actually is, and NEVER refer to him as a PARTNER because, every westerner will misunderstand you to be a gay person in homosexual relationship: SPOUSE is the appropriate word |
Fresh38: Hello justwise,Hum, another woman taking on me again. Perhaps I need to make a reconsideration. Did you say these of your own accord or you were motivated by other posts that attacked me? It is you who should be cautioned for the way that you use the English language, you need to avoid applying words that you do not know the meaning of: you did not refer to your Husband as your Spouse, rather, you call him your PARTNER, that word is used for gay couples. Besides, you did not state that you reside in Nigeria, you gave the impression that you are in a civil partnership certified by a country that practices such law, hence you are not able to get a replacement of your lost civil partnership certificate: what normal wife is there that calls her husband a PARTNER? You seemingly think that every Nairaland user is a Nigerian in Nigeria, not knowing that this forum is accessible the world over, and that there are numerous queries from gay people which we have dealt with. I am in Ireland, and i asked you that question as polite as could possibly be, not showing any prejudice just incase you are actually a gay man, and yet, you took offense. Enough of all these nonsense. |
tpia1: If they can deny a white man, then is there hope for a black man in the same situation. So, you call that a "white man"? If you call that guy (the Tunisians in general) white, then you are being unfair for not considering the Fulanis as white people. |
bfn1: Hello everyone,How did your brother hear about this organisation? When, where and how did he sit the exams? Why would they give your brother such a generous offer with an option to bring another adult who is neither his spouse nor his dependant? How much is the organizers requiring you to pay as a fee of any sort? Pease, do not withhold anything, it will be wise if you say the name of this organisation so we may look it up for you, there are many wolves in sheep clothings. |
Babalakin: if he reports it they will deport him cos his visa has expired. .just give me a link if u know any oneNegative, the police will not deport him because it is not their responsibility to interfere on immigration matter, if he goes to report the loss, he would be given an official declaration to that effect without asking any question regarding his residence status. |
Fresh38: Hello JustWise,What makes it difficult for you to get a replacement of your marriage certificate? Without prejudice, allow me to ask whether you are a gay man in hοmοsexual marriage (partnership)... are you? As for the question regarding documents, you do not need any document from your partner if he is not taking sponsorship role. As for your N1m savings, this will depend on how the money was built up and how convenient it is for you to fend for such trip without feeling the weight... The N100k that you got from your partner would not be considered as money lodgements if it doesn't make a significant part of the fund available... It is not a problem if you do not frequently withdraw money from the (current) account, it will only be a problem if the reason is because the money in the account can not be withdrawn... The properties that your parents bought for you will be significant especially if they are not isolated land or building that are not deemed to be taking more of your responsibilities: it is different if you own (let's say) business property that requires your obligatory management; |
justwise: This is not the right way to go about things, every single person here helping to advice even if its a single line is trying to help free of charge and they all have their own problems, life outside nairaland and may not reply to all questions directed at them all the time and as quick as you want it.It is good to read this from you, Justwise, I can't appreciate you enough. |
IyawoToBe: Vicjustice, there is something called courtesy. When you are quoted and you don't have an answer for the person, simply just say it. Rather than ignoring your mentions. It just makes you come off as proud and haughtyMay be you need to know that I have been in this forum for over 7 years, and that i am a volunteer: not employed by anyone, nor am i under any supervision on how to do my voluntary assistance as long as i do not break the forum rules. I am not compelled to respond to every post therefore, i do not appreciate any busy-body instructing me on the compulsion of replying to every posts that is referred to me. Please, do not take the place of my wife, and as you claimed to have a husband, then i suggest that you deal with him and let my own wife deal with me. Excuse me, you really do expect me to reply to every of the numerous posts that mentioned Vicjustice, so as to please you, yes? Funny enough, when i respond to undesired comments that are directed at me, i get criticized, and if i ignored such, i also get criticized: what do you people want of me? Below is a quote that is the opposite of what you wrote, and still, it was a criticism note on me: 3sha4lyf: If you don't see anything there, never mind then. Your silence would have been best. No skin-pain alas.Yet, she goes about clicking the LIKE button of every post that attacks me. You people should just mind your own businesses and LEAVE ME ALONE. |
3sha4lyf: Lol. VicJustice, according to the declaration you sign during application, there is a clause which says that "I understand that the fee payable is for an application processing and entry clearance decision-making service... I also understand that my visa application fee will be refunded only if the application is withdrawn in writing within 3 months and 7 days of the original date of application and prior to submission of biometric data or any processing taking place".You mean that you really paid that much attention reading the terms and conditions of that size? But by the way, apart from Spouse or some special Migrant application, what visa application is it that takes so long that an application can then be withdrawn within 3 months and 7 days? |
seangy4konji: Good day guyz...God bless every one...I would love to go to the UK february next year as birthday comes up in March...I have been reading threads and kind of get the scope of those people who will check my documents...By the time i will be applying?i will be be having a balance of about 1,5M-2 Million and i have been running the account well for the past 8 Years and run well in the past one year...I have 2 brothers over there with the same surnames and with british passports and wives and kids but will probably be getting invitation from just one of them with all his rent papers, work pay stubs and all that he can gather.(do i need to include his wifes passport and word details?)I will be sponsoring myself and i would like to know if its better to state i would be living with them or in a hotel(so i can get a nice paid hotel booking for the duration of the time i intend to stay)...My questions goes thus.what are my chances with them cause i would not like to be rejected over a flimpsy excuse and yes will be having letter from work for leave with all the documents and i have been out on holidays previously to other countries...Your chances of getting the visa (with reference to them) would depend on their history and their current circumstances: for example, it would be negative if they had sought asylum before, or they have history of immigration offence etc before legalizing their status. Also, you may be subjected to stringent questions regarding them, so ensure that you know everything that you wish to know: ensure that they have adequate and comfortable place for you to stay in. There are more overwhelming advantages in booking a hotel |
Amosiye: I will ignor u becos u re silly. Bringing about past issues. Which hv been settled. u just jump into a thread any how and make silly comments.. If u don't hv topics to discuse keep on pondering over past issues. Cos u like dwelling in the past. Being foolish is an act not an option. How many of you settled this "past issue"? |
festop2002: I need help with completing the values correctly. How much considerably do you think should be on the columns? Now, if the total cost of the trip is £1100 and and the total amount i have for the trip is £1500, I intend to be supported with £400 by the person inviting me and also the total money that will be available from myself and the person is £2000.....Do you think this is ok? and if it is not too small when my application is to be reviewed by an EOC. I just need people to put me through as i think their judgement will be based on this. These stories of acaccumulation of funds or compilation of money is not what the Visa Officer wants to hear, they would prefer to see that you are not one who needs financial assistance to travel for tourism: so, be concerned that your sources of income and it's documentation is the main focus. |
Phema: Will you just shush and stop ranting?!? How old are you? 10? Faith, positive thinking, God, bla bla bla. . . Yet you are here seeking for advice from a faithless and negative thinker!I'm glad that there are people like you who can understand a matter and give it a fair judgement. To be honest, I was a bit disturbed by his reasoning mentality, he was the offender and yet, he played the victim of my (non existing) abuse of forum authority.. |
This is arguably the funniest and most meaningless thread that I've seen in Nairaland ![]() |
