Okolomammma: Good morning nurses, I'm almost rounding up with my RN program at School Of Nursing, UBTH, after which I intend going to UK to do my 1yr Top-up BscN program. So here's my question. I hope I won't have issues relocating to Canada to work using the Express Entry or PNP route. I don't know how true it is that Canada don't accept UK 1yr top up BscN degree.... Thanks As long as you are below 30yrs when you finish your second degree, you may still stand a chance (depends on your CRS score). What Canada would or wouldn't accept is highly individualized and dependent on the provinceplus the skill of the individual nurse. |

Nnetriplet: Honestly my plan is to work abroad there is not I hate like being limited when you have the opportunity to complete something.... Please I heard that the certificate is released to you 2 years after completion of the program...is that true You can work with either one abroad. You do not need the certificate to process the job. Your notification of license would be sufficient proof when the time comes. |

peaceful22: Hello all.
Please is rice, spaghetti, noodles, olive oil, palm oil and sachet tomato paste (in small quantity) allowed in Canadian border?
Thank you. No liquids are allowed. It's a waste of space to carry rice and spaghetti. Thing you should carry are local spices, pepper, crayfish(blended), melon, ogbolo, garri (if yours is special like Benin garri with starch. If not dont bother, garri is here). Beans and the likes are all here. |

Godiswonderful: —-is it a good university —-The standard of living —— the cost ( undergraduate) by the way Any other specific things ..I am sorry if the questions are much 1....Yes it is a good university. 2....the cost is currently about 18k but would rise yearly for the next 4 years till it's about 22-24k. You can check ther website for specifics. 3.....standard of living is VERY affordable if you are ready to work. Jobs are pretty easy to get (in my opinion). Brandon is a nice calm town to live and gather your footing. As long as you dont join bad gang and you focus on your grind, you would be okay. All the best. |

Nnetriplet: I heard that if you go to a nursing school you have to go to a university for another 3year to obtain a bsc...and the bsc is more valuable in terms of employment than the other Well....both are "complete" because you are both registered nurses. However, the school of nursing is a diploma and the other is a bachelor's degree. You may be open to more job offers when you have a BSN but it is not written in stone. Obtaining a BSN after nursing school in Nigeria would take 4 years not 3 (excluding strike). However, if you wish to travel out of Nigeria to practice, I would advise you do the faster program which is the nursing school (3years). Bsn from scratch is 5years and 4 years after a degree. You can get a USA RN license or a UK license and do the RN- BSN program from as little as 6mths to as long as you want to stretch the online training. Therefore, evaluate what your long term goals are and act accordingly. |

Nad95: Hello, house. I'm a graduate of Human Physiology. Please how do I become a registered nurse and eventually get to practice in the US? Are there any accelerated nursing programs I can enroll for from Nigeria? I look forward to receiving your responses to my questions.. Thanks. 1......You can choose to attend a school of nursing in Nigeria(3yrs). Or attend a university (4years direct entry or 5years through jamb). 2.......USA,UK and CANADA all have after degree accelerated nursing programs. Do a google search for schools with a tuition you can afford then apply to them. If you are granted the Visa then you can relocate to study them abroad. 3.......you can also check other countries with Visas that are easier to get. Eg Philippines |

Nnetriplet: Hello am a graduate of Agronomy but an aspiring nurse... Please which do you advice me to go for.... The 5year Bsc. Nursing or the 3year nursing school... And also, how long does it take for the nursing Council to issue you a certificate with Bsc. Nursing Depends on your pocket and time. Both are registered nurses so you can use other criteria to choose which you prefer. Criteria such as proximity to your family, cost etc |

uzyfine: About this. Please I need urgent answers Cgfns already received all my document And reflected on my page as well, I paid for Expedition on Monday then on Tuesday they told me the needed additional information from the school called ( good faith estimate ) on my Clinical posting. Pls has anyone experienced this one and how to handle it fast. Will it delay further the 10 days expedite process? Pls anyone I had the same issue when I did mine. CGFNS wanted my school to estimate the time spent in obstetrics and separate it from gynecology. Once you school replies, they would complete the process. If your school doesnt then they would issue a non comparable report. |

Gracedbe: Please gurus in the house, i need more explanation on these:
1. For graduate studies im Canada, do i need to evaluate my credentials? If yes, how? A friend of mine said she tried to pay in the bank last week but was told she can't use Western Union anymore.
2. I read somewhere that as long as your first language is English, you might not require to do Ielts. Is it so?
Thanks. @vickyehi @Barbee thank you for the work you are doing. 1....the school would recommend which credential assessment company to use for international credential evaluation. You can use your master card to pay for the evaluation. If you still have a problem, you can dm me and we would try to work something out(if you are comfortable with it). 2....this also depends on the school you are applying to. Check on their website if Nigeria is exempt from proof of English proficiency. |

JCXpert: Pls my wife got admission in Brandon University and she plan to go with her kids of 7yr&4yr but don't know what to fill on the kids form. Is it Visit or study permit for the kids. When she fill in study permit she was asking to upload Acceptance Letter of the kids school. I need guidance please. The visa to apply for your kids is a visitors Visa. When you all get to Brandon, the kids can be enrolled in school without needing a study permit. The only exception is if the kid was 17 on getting to canada and then turned 18/19 and wants to go to college and/or work. In that case, the child would have to file for a study permit or work permit(as the case may be). |

Thelmieey: . So it's preferable I get a Bachelor degree in nursing first here in Nigeria. NO it is preferable you move to the UK for now and later move to Canada or the States. Note that even some Nigerian graduates with BSN are not still successfully in the process. So rather than wasting 4years in Nigeria doing Bsn, move to the UK and start practicing. You can also complete your Bsn in the UK in 1year. |

Jugularvein: Can someone share an idea of how to get fingerprinting done in Nigeria for BON in US? For Texas BoN, 1....register with identgo and print out the confirmation page 2....contact the BON to send you your fingerprint card or buy from Amazon. 3....Go to a state CID and ask them to take your prints using the card. Another alternative is watch youtube videos on how to take your prints, buy the ink pad and do it yourself. 4....send the filled card to identgo by post. |

Laurendee: A good choice in the sense that is it worth paying all that money for and does it help or make the process of becoming a Canadian RN less cumbersome?
I just found out about it recently so I want to get as much info as I can on them before getting into it, can you share any information you know about the college please Well I cant say it's not worth the money because you indeed learn. However, attending omni college doesnt mean that you can transition into an RN after you finish the program. Omni would support you all the way during tour journey to becoming an RN. Omni has little to nothing to do with your RN "cubersomeness". Either way, Rn licensure in canada is ever stressful. A colleague of mine attended Omni but the person is yet to be registered in Canada(2014- date). My colleague in their opinion said omni helped to integrate them into the Canadian nursing practice. This knowledge helped when they sat for the skills test. They were however referred to do a 1year top up program which had a 1year long wait list. Omni provides you moral support for however long it takes you to get your RN license. |
