The biggest mistake we made to our selves was choosing English language as our official language thereby making us strangers to our selves. indigenous language would have been better because it will be had to treat your language person as a total stranger no matter how bad it is.That spirit of brotherly love and unity must speak when ever you see a person share same language with you.English Language as official language over our indigenous language was the origin of our problem until this is corrected we will remain enemy to our selves for ever. There is a very strong force and power in a shared language e.g you find your self in the mist of igbo guys and you are not igbo then it happen that one of them knows how to speak a little of your language but not fluently he will be your closest person among others who cannot even say come in your own language, your closeness with the one that speaks little of your language will be stronger than the rest this has happen to me on several occasions. All these hatred and killings of a fellow Nigerians is as a result of the fact that there is no common thing that bind us together and language would have been that common thing.A division in language is a total disconnection of reasoning and understanding, you can never reason and understand any thing from some one who does not speak in a language that will make you to understand. Before you reason with any body you must first understand the person that is why in Nigeria an hausa man does not reason with an igbo man because there is no understanding of common language,a yuroba man does not reason with an igbo man due to lack of common language. Ghanaians are more united than Nigerians why because there is a common binding spirit that exist among them that makes them not seeing their selves as a total stranger to each other.Remember the story in the bible when God chooses to punish and stop the construction of tower to heaven he causes division to their common language and they could not reason and understand each other any more the next thing they began to fight and kill each and that was the end of that construction thus the killing of each other and the hatred that is going on in Nigeria today is due to lack of common language.Lets have a rethink and start correcting our mistakes from our root else we will never have our DREAMED NIGERIA.
Travel / Re: Pilot Couple Carrying 324 Fired After They Fought And Both Abandoned The Cockpit by VictorEkwere: 2:02pm On Jan 10, 2018
Explorers:
An Indian airline has fired a pilot couple who violently clashed and briefly left the cockpit unattended during a flight from Londonto Mumbai.

Jet Airways took the step after investigating allegations a male pilot slapped his female co-pilot during a heated argument while the plane was mid-air, carrying 324 passengers.

The fight reportedly led to the female pilot leaving the cockpit in tears before she was persuaded to go back in by cabin crew.

At one point the male pilot also left the cockpit, leaving the controls briefly unattended, according to local media reports.

'Consequent to the review of the events... Jet Airways has terminated services of both the cockpit crew with immediate effect,' Jet said in a statement.

This is highest level of immaturity and unprofessional playing with the lives of 324 passengers please sacking is not enough punishment for this their licence as a pilot should be forfeited for ever like they did to MJ's doctor and jail term should follow.

I believe it’s just part of the African mentality where we celebrate almost anything.
1) we buy car - we celebrate
2) build house - we celebrate
3) give birth - we celebrate
Birthday - we celebrate
It’s just our mentality

I agree with you
You are wrong that mentality is not only in AFRICA its happens every where in the world it is a general believe, culture and religion of the people.

Sports / Re: Super Eagles Drop 9 Places In FIFA Ranking by VictorEkwere: 3:05pm On Nov 23, 2017
marryjesus:
In spite of the Super Eagles sterling performance in the World Cup qualifiers and its convincing defeat of Argentina – one of the world’s finest teams, Nigeria has dropped nine (9) places in the latest football ranking by the International Federation of Association Football ( FIFA ).

FIFA made this latest ranking known on Thursday, putting Nigeria at 50th position in the world and 8th in Africa. It can be recalled that Nigeria occupied the 41st position in the last ranking. This did not augur well for the die-hard fans of the Super Eagles as they expected the recent exploits of the team to have levitated the Eagles to more desirable position in the upward direction.

A few unexpected teams like Cameroon, Democratic Republic of the Congo etc., ranked higher than Nigeria.

However, we are very hopeful that the forthcoming ranking by FIFA scheduled for 21st December, 2017 should hold more serendipitous prospects for our national team.

See below the list of the top ten (10) teams in Africa and the world:
Africa
Senegal
Tunisia
Egypt
Congo DR
Morocco
Burkina Faso
Cameroon
Nigeria
Ghana
Côte d’Ivoire

World
Germany
Brazil
Portugal
Argentina
Belgium
Spain
Poland
Switzerland
France
Chile

Why can't we print the $5.5bn ourselves instead of borrowing since we can print money ourselves?

I believe if we print the money ourselves, we can use it for whatever we want and we won't need to pay back money to anybody.

Nairalanders pls! I need explanation.

Oga when you have so much money in circulation it will result to more money buying few goods and services this is because every body will have money and when u have money what happen u will never like to stress your self to work and to farm and any body that will work for u will charge u high because there is money at the same time is only few people that will be willing to work and few people will farm so those few people that will be farming will charge very high because there are many people waiting with money to buy the farm produced at this time you will see so many people with money but no goods to buy because goods and services will be scarce while money will be every where and when money is every where without seeing what to buy with the money the money automatically becomes useless in your hand. Its the worst thing that can happen to any economy pls dont pray for it.

Politics / Re: Who Can Lead The PDP Back To Aso Rock? by VictorEkwere: 9:40pm On Aug 29, 2017
MrPolitics:
it isn't an easy thing to defeat a ruling party, especially in a country like Nigeria.

it took 16 years and a coalition of heavy opposition political parties and individuals to defeat PDP as a ruling party

by 2019, APC would have spent 4 years in power and might still be considered "fresh" by th nigerian electorate

but, if possible, which of the political heavyweights in the PDP do you think can fly the party ticket to victory?

1. Goodluck Jonathan
Former President Jonathan is eligible for 1 more term as the senate bill to prohibit him hasn't been passed. he still has a huge following especially in the south east and south south

2. Sule Lamido
Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido is a popular politician in the north.

3. Ibrahim Dankwambo
Governor of Gombe State. he's believed to be a fresh young and competent

4. David Mark
Former Senate President.

5. Ayo Fayose
Governor of Ekiti State. he's believed to be the main face of the opposition, and his constant criticism of PMB has gained him a lot of popularity and attention nationwide

even besides those on this list. who in the PDP now, do you think can defeat the PDP in 2019
Goodluck Jonathan is the only man that can get back the mantle if only he will be willing to run the race
Politics / Re: Africa Should Be "Ashamed" Of Leaders Seeking Treatment Abroad - SA Minister by VictorEkwere: 5:27pm On Aug 29, 2017
ThisTrend:

South Africa’s Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi has criticised African leaders for seeking medical treatment abroad.

Speaking in Zimbabwe at a World Health Organization (WHO) meeting of African health ministers, Mr Motsoaledi said Africa must be the only continent where the leaders travel abroad for health reasons.

He was addressing the conference hours after President Robert Mugabe, who himself makes regular trips to Singapore for eye treatment, opened the meeting. Mugabe had left the event by the time Mr Motsoaledi spoke.

Newsday newspaper quoted South Africa's health minister as saying: "I have said this before and I will say it again: we are the only continent that has its leaders seeking medical services outside the continent, outside our territory. We must be ashamed of that. This is called health tourism. We must promote our own."

In the past year five African heads of state have gone overseas for medical reasons, they are:

Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari
Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe
Benin's President Patrice Talon
Angola's President Jose Eduardo dos Santos
Algeria's President Abdelaziz Bouteflika
