Dear Olisah Metuh We won't take the bait. The SUVs were expressly approved to him by the presidency after he was attacked by Boko haram. The standard all over the world is for the country to provide protection for presidential aspirants hence replacing Buharis car as a front line contender was paramount and that was driven to his house in Kaduna and he was told it was from the federal Govt and not Dasuki. Its only right that issues of such magnitude fall under the purview of the NSA. The fact you are trying to feign ignorance of the events shows your own folly The probe must continue and we must regain all our looted funds. You guys capitalized on the goodwill and good nature of GEJ and abused your positions in govt. No Olisa Metu we wont take the bait as Nigerians are wiser now. Yours faithfully Concerned Nigerian |
I can now see, Corruption is really fighting back hard,,, blackmailing our incorruptible Sai Buhari for what he was legally entitled to as a former president... I want to ask, were all these media houses entitled to compensation from the FG for business risk?? Or has the FG/NSA become an insurance company overnight?? Why didn't the NSA also compensate numerous Nigerians(esp those in IDP camps) affected by Boko Haram?? May God help Nigeria!!! |

I feel some of us are really unfair to the APC-led federal government and Buhari, having already given up on it even before it starts...I guess the expectations were blown out of proportion. In as much as I believe the government can do better, I think we should be a bit considerate and patient. Even if we can't trust them for 16 years as we did PDP, I still believe we shouldn't give too soon. God bless Nigeria. |

suxkill:Its never INEC's fault that elections are not conclusive, blame the ruthlessness and lawlessness of the people in those Areas. INEC did not tell them to kill themselves and snatched electoral materials... Not everything is worth politicizing. |

marked10:Well said bro, I totally subscribe to freedom of speech and the press. Also, as you rightly said, most politicians use various media channels to blackmail, and not '' criticize'' perceived political opponents. Therefore, the usefulness of this bill, politicians, even those in government, can nolonger use any media outlet to falsely accuse political rivals... You can see what is going between Gov Oshimole and Ex-minister of Finance. We don't know who to believe, cuz no facts and figures...hence we need checkmate such baseless argument in the polity. |
[quote author=Image123 post=40713752]Come to think of it, i think passage of the bill would encourage critical thinking. It's high time our youths stopped frivolity and propaganda, and embrace responsibility, integrity and truth.[/quote Exactly what I'm talking about... |
marked10:Better this time, I agree that press must always be press, buh note: the bill never stops any press, media or persons from posting on Facebook, Twitter or any social media platform. It doesn't also stops any media, press or persons from criticizing the government or anyone, by the way, criticism doesn't need evidence. It only seeks to reduce and regulate the volume of falsehood spewed by most media platforms. If you'll agree with me, a lot of people's names have always been battered by false accusations before the truth eventually comes out. This bill will make media outfits and even anti-graft agencies make proper investigation before spewing baseless information to the public. It'll also help sanitize the media profession. I'm neither an APC member nor a governments sympathizer... Buh a well-informed, learned and Patriotic Nigerian. I don't do sentiments... |
bumi10:This is the most unintelligent and clueless response I've ever seen on NL. Except you cannot read properly or understand simple English. A lot of innocent individuals have found themselves in jails cuz of false claims and accusations. You know the Justice system in this country where you're criminalize even before trials begin. This bill simply want accusers to have real facts or evidence before making accusations. Tell someone more objective to help you read the bill again since you're too blindfolded with ignorance. I don't trade insults with ignorant folks. |
I see nothing wrong with this bill...lack of understanding, sentiment and ignorance is the main issue here. The bill simple seeks to criminalize making false claims and accusations without evidence or truth. So all those condemning the Senate should take a second look at the intent of the bill. I will always support social media freedom but not freedom of false and baseless accusations. |
Are you kidding me N125 BILLION per month and N1.5 Trillion per year @5000*for 25 Million Nigerians. I know I'm unemployed buh this is a clueless move by APC. This money should be invested in areas that can generate sustainable job opportunities...This move is worst than the fuel subsidy scam. |
maupe:NO! Though this is a lacuna but the '' doctrine of necessity'' would or should prevail so that the running mate can continue. This is because at the eventual death of a Governor or President, they don't order for fresh elections buh simply the deputy continues. Preparing for a fresh election involves a lot of process and factors to be considered: Time, expenses, nd the Constitution that prescribes specific time for a sitting governor's tenure. I hope we get this right. |
