@rufty Proving family ties is a complex situation, as explained by vvjustice you must share the same surname either maternal or paternal side. Supporting documents your uncle can use are depending on his present job. Is he self employed or employed? Does he have a business, landed property? Investments or other means of income, those could detrmine the kind of documents to be used. |
Travel / Re: Experience With Immigration When Traveling With Our Nigeria Passport by vikiviko(m): 5:56pm On Aug 08, 2008 |
My first experience was in August 2004, i was traveling to Sweden to attend a 4 day conference, had already missed a day. I was delayed at the airport for 3 hours , they contacted the organizers who came to pick me. They were surprised that the organizers paid for my ticket and other incentives. The painful part was i carrying an international press i d from a U S media, they interrogated and delayed me. People were just looking at me with scorn . But its great being a Nigerian. They sometimes treat with scorn , other times with respect. In Cairo an Egyptian gave 50 dollars just because i was a Nigerian , we traveled tOGETHer from bANJUL. |

Figures available to the ministry showed that 8,000 of the illegal immigrants were in Morocco, 16,000 in Algeria, 20,000 in Libya and about 15,000 in Mauritania. The decision to host the workshop also was informed by the growing number of Nigerians presently serving various prison terms in countries abroad. |

The Mallam once, the central protagonist in Nigeria’s ‘fight’ against corruption is now being laid bare through the instruments used by those in the citadel of power. His treatment proves that truth threatens power, and power threatens truth. |

The Nigerian system can make you to be a super human today and tomorrow a nobody. Nuhu Ribadu was a super human in the years gone by , he was given all the powers in Nigeria to arrest and humiliate criminal governors and busineess rogues , sadly the same system is withdrawing everything that made Ribadu a super human. He should accept it in good fate. There is time for everything. |

@emmasweet If you are using 2 sponsors be sure yo define the relationsips. Also if 1 of the sponsor is based abraod, be sure to clarify and indicate his origin of funds, For the Nigerian sponsor you have depending on hos source of income you might just vaoid using a tax clearance. If he's self employed with his comapny incorporation, then you need it. Otherwise if he's employed, his pay slips and bank statement would be necessary. Finally in showing your sponsor 's finances his enough , you must aclearly show how these funds are earned . |

@Kadman You erred when you never showed any source or origin of his funds. Bank deposits are not enough to show one's financial strenghth, especially with UK embassy. When appealing, show his other sources of incomes with proofs lke receipts, contracts, pay slips, land documents, bill of lading etc Also your uncle should make an affidavit of supporting you for the trip. Its a clear cut appeal. |
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries by vikiviko(m): 10:30am On Jul 29, 2008 |
You have submitted evidence of the funds. However, this document largely stands in isolation as evidence of your uncle’s financial circumstances and commitments. You have failed to provide any evidence of the origin of the funds and the over all financial circumstances of your uncle. For example you have not provided any evidence of his financial commitments, business turnover, profilt or disposable income. Basically you did not show origin of his funds. Did you add his pay slips to show his earnings? What other sources of income acrues to him? If you were given appeal, i think his better you go for it. |
Politics / Re: Have Your Say: Is Nigeria Worth Living In? by vikiviko(m): 12:11pm On Jul 28, 2008 |
As bad as Nigeria may seem, though plagued with monumental problems like Power failure, corruption, unemployment, Niger Delta Wahala and so on, its country flowing milk and honey. In Nigeria you can be a millionaire in a month if you are smart and intelligent. Its a peaceful place with businesses thriving here and there. Why do you think the Chinese loves Nigeria? Just discover yourself here and you will make it big time. |
