Travel / Re: Arik Air Is A Hoax And A Scam! by vikiviko(m): 3:38pm On Jan 02, 2009
Its not only Arik thats a hoax other airlines like Virgin and Aero needs to be categorised into that level.

The christmas expereince at the airport MM2 was not only disturbing but intriguing.
Having missed a flight to owerri on the 24th of December on Aero i was put on standy by list that never worked.Up on till the 30th of december was i able to make a trip.The customer service at the MM2 lounge of Aero are inefficient and lack professionalism.

As for virgin i cannot understand how a reservation made since june 2008 to travel for Dec 30 would be changed on the 17th Dec without my knowledge.The virging officials claimed i called to tell them that i want to reschedule for owerri -Lagos on the 17th, which i never i did.
They were bent of frustrating me not to make the rtip to owerri.
You know what i discovered they were trying to scheme out because when i bought the ticket in june was for 15k but as at 30th it was selling for 37, 800 business class.
So i challenged and threatened before they effcetd a change without my knowledge.

FAAN should come to the aid of Nigerians during festive seasons like christmas.There were persons who were forced to travel to unknown destinations because there was over booking or bad weather, some airlines like aero did fly pasengers to port harcourt instead of owerri.Passengers who flee into the country from abroad had no choice to sleep at the airport the international wing.

Politics / Re: List Of Ministers: Nigeria Is Doomed? by vikiviko(m): 2:50pm On Dec 18, 2008
Dora's ministerial appointment is good but for a woman who have creditably manged the affairs of NAFDAC above board, i think the office and postion of Nafdac in the Nigeria of today is more important to Ministry of information and communication.

She has fought so many wars with fake drug barons, now that she's moved to another office, i sincerely hope the new comere will perform as Dora.

Congratulations Madam NAFDAC

The Aba Int'l Satdium should be banned for at least a season.
I know too well that the hoodlums who perpetrated this dastard acts will never be arrested by the Police.
On the part of the Police they have shown how ineffiecient and ineffective they can be trusted.
Its not a good signal for Nigerian local football. though hooliganism thrives everywhere.

The FA must sanction Enyimba .
Politics / Re: I Fear For Obama by vikiviko(m): 8:45pm On Oct 31, 2008
Perhaps, Barack Obama is the greatest thing that has happened to the Black race since the independence era. The joy and unity Obama has brought among Black people irrespective of their colonial backgrounds can only be compared to the kind of unity of purpose and belief in shared destiny said to have existed in the Black world during the 1950s through to 1970s before the White colonizers driven from most of our lands regrouped and conquered our brains. The hope for President Obama has ecstatically gripped not only African Americans, in the Black world, but apparently all people of Black African ancestry all over the world. President Obama commands the kind of acceptance and adulation no other Black person has ever attracted in modern history.
Politics / Re: Speaker Bankole Is More Corrupt Than Patricia Etteh - Keyamo by vikiviko(m): 6:38pm On Oct 31, 2008
Mr. Dimeji Bankole came to the Speakership of the Nigeria’s House of Reps, when Ms. Patricia Etteh, the erstwhile crooked and incompetent speaker abandoned decency and stole herself into disrepute and impeachment. But this house is on the news again. Most of the reasons why Etteh was probed and sacked have assumed other forms and are being mercilessly perpetrated in the same House of filth. Some have even begun to ask why Etteh was sacked in the first place, when other more potent and equal opportunity embezzlers are still on call.

The probe of Bankole will achieve one of two things! It either exposes him to an indictment and consequent impeachment; or it is politically manipulated to keep him in office. If he is impeached, his replacement will be sought from the same corrupt pool! This is because, the Nigerian legislature is a house erected on corruption. That is why what they are doing in the name of probe is simply a circus. Many of those guys there are there on a stolen mandate. This explains their recalcitrance in passing the Freedom of Information Bill. They are aware that the passage of that bill tantamount to self-destruction for them. Nigerians will then be empowered to ask questions and would have the right to access information in relation to their questions. To this end, these guys will never pass that bill. They are ready to wait it out until public opinion dies down, and business continues as usual.

Bankole if found guilty of any wrong doings in the contract scandal should be fired with immediate effect and be made to face the music. The audacious impunity of Nigerian politicians lends steady credence to Chinweizu’s assertion that until we start beheading thieves in power, Nigeria will never know felicity or development. The goings on in the Nigerian power corridors makes it extraordinarily difficult to believe the obverse. Nigerians are getting gradually fed up. And the day that Nigerians will say enough, Ghana’s brand of revolution under Rawlings will be the antics of spoilt kids in relation to what Nigeria will experience. The Tsunami is coming! But our politicians are eternally deaf and blind, until their heads follow!

Travel / U.s Announces New Appointment System by vikiviko(m): 1:10pm On Oct 29, 2008
PRESS RELEASES
U.S. Mission to Nigeria Announces New Appointment System
October 28, 2008

The U.S. Mission to Nigeria is pleased to announce improvements in the processing of nonimmigrant visa applications. Beginning October 29, 2008, the U.S. Embassy in Abuja and the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos will partner with VFS Global in a program that we are confident will provide more convenient, secure, and user-friendly services to those applying for U.S. visas in Abuja and Lagos. Once this system is operational on October 29, 2008, current procedures to make appointments and pick up passports will no longer be operational.

Benefits of this partnership include:

A user-friendly and secure on-line way to make visa appointments;
A call center to answer applicants’ questions about booking appointments and the visa application process;
A downtown location and expanded hours in both cities for visa pick-up.
In accordance with similar programs at other U.S. missions, VFS will charge a fee of N3500 for these services. This is in addition to existing visa application charges of $131. Both fees can be paid in cash or with debit or credit cards at any UBA Bank branch.

This new system will allow more people to book appointments and complete applications themselves—and NOT have to pay costly fees to anyone else to do this for them. By giving each applicant booking an appointment a secure and unique receipt number that is valid for one year from the date of purchase, the new system will increase transparency and open up more slots for legitimate visa applicants and eliminate the need for visa brokers.

Since demand for visa interview appointments remains high, it is essential that visa applicants apply early – we recommend that you make your appointment as soon as you know when you plan to travel. Under the new system, applicants have the opportunity to reschedule appointments twice, then must wait 60 days for the receipt number to be reactivated in order to reschedule again. You may reschedule your appointment as many times as possible for free within the year-long validity of your receipt number. Applicants who fail to appear for their appointment without cancelling it before the appointment date will be required to re-pay the VFS fee of N3500 to secure a new appointment slot.

Effective October 29, 2008, detailed instructions on the new appointment request process will be available at: http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/. To make an appointment beginning October 29, 2008, go to the VFS website at www.usa-vfsglobal-ng.com. For questions about the visa application process, contact the VFS nationwide call center at 01-463-1363 or on-line at infousnigeria@vfshelpline.com.

Please note: if you already have a scheduled visa appointment prior to October 29, 2008, there is no need to make a new appointment under this new system. Appointments made prior to October 29, 2008, remain valid.
