Hello,

Is it possible to get positive assessment with Vetasses for 2 yrs Nigerian experience 2015 to 2017??

Will they give positive assessment with B.Eng and overseas 2 yrs experience?

One of my contacts said any overseas degree of BSc must be followed with Atleast 4 yrs experience before a positive outcome is assured. Is this true? I’m assessing as a Project Administrator or Contractor Administrator

Hello,

Does having 2 Masters degrees add more points? By August I will be having an MBA and MSc.

I need extra point as by August too, I will be turning 31 thereby losing some points I guess.

Kindly comment

@Vikmeek,

What was your motivation for studying MBA despite your first degree?

These are the possible options you have:

1. When you graduate, look fir a job in program/project administration and work for a year before doing the skills assessment with VETASSES. You will then apply for state nomination (190/491) in NSW.

2. Forget about applying for state nomination from other states different from your state of residence if you are onshore. None of the states will consider you if you are not resident in their state. NT may give a little consideration but it is like a Carmel passing through the eye of a needle.

3. Ditch your current program, apply for Masters in your first degree course or any course that has potential longevity on the occupation list. While considering this, look outside NSW or Victoria. You can check WA, TAS or SA and maybe QLD.

4. Consider bligs recommendations

5. Assess your first degree and experience, apply for NSW nomination while still living there and see what happens.

6. On a side note, you have been here long enough to accept to go for such course.

My motivation is job prospects beyond PR. MBA &Project Mgt are great courses in terms of getting a good job if one has paper here, the other one which is IT has been dominated by Indians and Parkistans making it difficult for other nationals to pull through,

Initially I was gonna assess with my bachelors, which is in engineering,

I like your recommendations, Thank you

I
bligs:

You can't get 190 for any of the aforementioned states (Tas, NT and South Australia) since you didn't study up to 2years in those states and also there is a different between Project Manager and MBA/Project Management, the former is a profession (job title/position which you ascend to) while the latter is just a course. MBA/Project Management as a course isn't on the skill occupation list.
Yours options are:
Assess your bachelor's degree, head to Tasmania and try the 491 by getting a permanent or temporary job for six months, it doesn't have to be related with your nominating occupation.
Enrol in one year diploma or cert iv in trades occupation in Tasmania (make sure they're on Tassie occupational list).
For South Australia, Western Australia and Northern Territory, you may have to work up to one year in a closely related occupation.
OR
Enrol in a 2years course in any of these states, make sure that the course is on their skill occupation list and stand a chance for 190.

Thanks brother.

The course I’m currently doing is actually MBA and Master of Project Management and I think the Project Mgt is in NSW list as “Program/Project Administrators” so any occupation like “Project Coordinator” can assess with it too and it’s on “high” availability with no conditions .

This means that it’s in demand and you don’t need to have local or “NSW” experience to apply unlike the “Business Analysts” that has condition of atleast 12 months NSW working experience.

Also other most occupations in Engineering are either “Limited” availability or “Low” availability making it so competitive.

I have taken note of your suggestions

Oga Bellong and Other gurus

Please I need you all to help me out here, I’m really confused on how to go.

I’m currently a student in Sydney doing MBA and Project Management Course (Double Masters Degree) will finish next year.

I have my bachelors in Elect/Elect and had 3 years working experience in Telecom bfr coming to Australia.

I’m 29

Now problem is what is the best route for me.

Questions:

1. Is it possible to get 190 or 491 nominations (using my bachelors and 3yrs telecom exp) from other states (Tas, Adelaide, NT) even when I am in Australia but not living or studying in their state.

2. Is Project Management as a Course in any of the states occupation list?

3. Is it possible to get NSW 190 or 491 nominations even when I have been living in “Sydney” for a year now (I can get upto 75points using my bachelors and 3years exp)

4. NSW and Adelaide has “Program/Project Administration” in their list, can I apply for this occupation with a degree in Project Management.

5. Should I pause the Course I’m doing here in Sydney and relocate to regional area to take up a more promising course?

I’m just confused, I don’t want to do EA assessment with my bachelors and at the end it won’t fetch me anything cos I’m onshore and in “Sydney”

I need clarifications pls
Thank you

There is no project management in the occupation list. The available ones are

- ICT project manager
The ones below are specifically related to building
- Construction Project Manager
- Project builder

Ok

Hello everyone,

Quick one. Is it late to start processing for 190 or 189 subclass? I intend to submit my Engineer Australia assessment application in two weeks time. All things being equal I can get 75points , as i have 3 yrs engineering experience and I’m under 30

Or should I chill for the 491?

Kindly advice

Please I need an advise,
I want to apply for Msc in Australia.
An agent said its best to make a single application and my wife should be my accomplice
the other agent suggested we apoly individual for different Msc program.

Am confused, should we apply together or independently
please I seriously need your advice

Apply as a primary applicant and yr wife will be dependent. Same application. It will give ur wife full work rights while u study and work at spare time . No need going for MSc for the two of u. Waste of money

Hello From Sydney, Australia

I was in this race in 2017, I got denied by Canada only due to insufficient fund.

I changed focus to Australia. Now I’m happy getting here.

If Canada isn’t working, trust me is not the be destination in the world. Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Netherlands are great places and are all giving Student Visas
