adeoladele: Let me share my little experience in Tasmania. I came to this country last year November, Tasmania is a good place to live especially to grow up children. if you are the kind of person like me that hate traffic this might be the best place for you, low population and lovely people. No stress here like other part of the country because of the low population, the weather here is a bit cold and weather changes to different state nearly every hour that is, you cant predict the weather. Some people move to Tasmania mainly because of pr it is very easy here than most places in Australia. Once you work full time for a year, work six months in your field or study here for two years you can apply. One of the major problem most people face here is accommodation simply because movement of people from mainland to tasmania as trigger the price of accommodation and even scares. To get accommodation you will need to have rental history, payslips, water bills and so on which there is no way you can get this if you are new in the city to be honest is very very difficult expecially if you are with family. Job i can say job also is major issue here i worked for just two weeks since i landed last year "fruit picking" very hard job working in the sun for over 8hours. Even till now am still looking for job.
Most people do disability job but you need some license to work in that sector
You can't survive working here without having a car
Pay rate btw 25aud to 32aud some pay less
Rent for single room/ shared apartment from 180-250 per week For family from 380-600 per week depending on the area Note: No one will give a family with kids a room apartment they give sign rent agreements based on the size of the family
Car from 1000 depending on your taste
Fuel 1.53 per liter depending on the type
We spend 80aud per week myself wife and kid for feeding
To family once you obtain your visa in my opinion let one person come to settle rent and job before the rest move
To student get the half of the second semester fees job here will not pay second semester Aside from second semester sir, can one comfortably pay for the remaining one year fees, house rent and so on while doing disability job without getting help from home. |

AussieJoan: GETTING A JOB
Some people think that when you get to Australia a job is waiting for you. that isn't the case at all. While there are jobs here it depends on your state of mind to start from a small place before climbing the ladder although some people have special grace, where its straight to the top from nothing.
1. Alienate yourself from people who aren't ready to help you but smile at your faces and pretend they are your friends (I've see seen a lot here, not everyone you call your sister/brother from home wants to see you succeed, although there are still the Godsent among them) Use your discretion wisely.
2. Downloaad the Airtasker app, you can use it to earn some money pending when you get a real job.
3. First things first, GO AND GET YOUR FIRST AID, CPR, POLICE CHECK AND WORKING WITH CHILDREN CHECK. Also have your driver's license at hand.
4. You can apply for disability jobs with those certs mentioned doing the disability course( You better believe me, I know what am talking about).
5. Above all Pray to God to guide and direct you.
P.S Am in Victoria( things might not be the same as other states but there is no harm in trying) Hi dear. Thanks for the detailed information. However do you mean getting ANY of those cert can get one a job in disability. Moreso, how long does it take and you much is it in your area. |

couples that traveled with there toddler (a year plus) via school, PR or work permit route how did you people cope with your studies, understanding your new environment, and job searching when you have your baby around. did you register him or her in creche or got a nanny? If yes, how much does it cost or is it best not to go with your baby at fist then when you are a bit comfortable he or she can now come over |

abby2443: I am more of AACA than vetassess... But with the little knowledge i have as per vetassess, you have to carefully study the requirements before submitting your application. More attention should be paid to his job description as this has to align with anzsco code for architectural draftsperson. Please make sure he has at least one year related experience in an archy firm or construction company as this will play a major role. Lastly, kindly refer him to this thread so he can read up too and equip himself with vital information. For vetassess. https://www.vetassess.com.au For AACA. https://www.aaca.org.au ok sir |

abby2443: @Viola2017
His 4years B.Sc will not fly with AACA but like i mentioned earlier if he has at least one year experience in any archy firm or as a draftsman in any company he should be fine with vetassess.
As regards your second question.. No, you can decide to switch your discipline once you get there, no penalty for that.
With respect to the third, I'll like to leave that for the accountants in the house. Regards Good day sir, my husband just did his assessment as an ARCHITECTURAL DRAFT PERSON via VETASSESS but it turned out to be negative. please what do you suggest. |

[quote author=abby2443 post=72688024]Hi, if he did 4/5years B.Sc plus two years masters, he can go for AACA (architect accrediatation council of Australia) assessment, they don't require work experience, please visit their website for details OR if he has worked in an architectural firm or as a draftsman in any other company before, he can assess as architectural draftsperson with vetassess. All the best.
.Thank sir. he has 4 years of B.sc in Architecture with no masters but currently running an MBA program. On the other hand, i have B.sc in Accounting from Unn with 2 years experience. pls is it a must that you will stick to the skill one used while applying once he or she gets there and again is there no related field that he can substitute for logistics |

PMB should just think up something, something tangible and meaningful before he leaves office in 2019. HungerBAD: This is starting to get childish.
Adam's Oshiomole said they will impeach Saraki, and then stop him from coming back to the Senate if he contests again.
There were no personal attacks in his words,as his statements were pure political statements.
For Saraki to descend so low as to bring a private conversation between himself and Adam's into the public arena, shows how mature he is. What if Adam's Oshiomole had approached you privately for support?people talk to each other privately, and that is where it ends. To God who made me, you no get sense. |

hello House, I need to know how Visa on Arrival payment can be made using money order.I read where they said that the surname on the credit card must match that of the applicant and that is what i don't have at the moment so I'd like to use Money Order but it's not stated on the Nigerian Immigration website. However, if anyone has ever paid for you using his/her credit and the person's surname is different from yours, I'd like to know how you did it. My plan was to have my host pay the money using his credit card then I'll give him the cash equivalent. thanks all. |

Hello gurus in the house,
I need your candid advice so as not to proceed in error, I had my baby late last month in California. Hospital bill which is on the paper I signed the first day I went there is $3000 for days VD. Doctors fee for VD/CS is $2000 I paid in full and got receipts from doctor and hospital same day. Of the day I delivered, I took epidural ($500) which I paid for there and then and got my receipt. I was discharged the following day after my VD, I got bills at home for radiography, pathology etc for less than $1000 collectively and I have paid via phone. My issue now is that I met another lady that went through same hospital that got itemised bill for about $20000 but below the $20000, balance to pay is zero. they did not issue a zero balance cert. but insisted that she is not owing them a dime. I am afraid as this may portend a problem during visa renewal. I plan to visit the hospitals' billing section on Monday to know if my bill is ready and if it appears like that of the lady, I will insisting on getting another bill of exactly what the contract paper states and not otherwise. Please I write to seek advice from people that went through this lane in the past and also to gather enough ideas/advice before going there.
Thanks all for your time, I'll await your response(s) here |
