The picture of gaping chasms in a Japanese highway demonstrated the power of the March 11 earthquake.
Now the astonishing speed of reconstruction is being used to highlight the nation’s ability to get back on its feet.
Work began on March 17 and six days later the cratered section of the Great Kanto Highway in Naka was as good as new. It was ready to re-open to traffic last night.

Tainting that pure white blood, I'm not a big fan of inter racial relationships. . .
Such obnoxious tomfoolery.

You obviously had problems with inferiority complex growing up.  I can tell you most likely grew up in a white neighborhood where your peers made you hate yourself so much for being black.  You probably must have contemplated committing suicide at several point in time, such a shame really.

If however, you aren't remotely black, then someone better sound the rétard alert!

Let's stop celebrating mediocrity peeps, The first iron cased metal cylinder rocket  was made in the 1780s, when technology was crude and the knowledge of physics was limited, the fact that someone repeated such a technology in Nigeria 3 millenniums later, calls for tears not applause!

The dude is impressive no doubts, the disturbing part of the bigger picture however is the fact that we believe he's impressive

PoliticsRe: Task Force Discovers Bomb Factory In Troubled Jos by violent(m): 12:03pm On Mar 24, 2011
How many more bomb factories are out there?
Is it not shocking that after several bombing cases, Factories like this still manage to evade the watchful eyes of Nigerian military/Police?---{excuse the irony please}

It's very disturbing that security operatives in Nigeria are dependent only on rare coincidences such as stop and search operations to effectively police and secure a state.

I shudder at the thoughts of an event where the aforementioned Okada hadn't passed through the stop and search zones, which apparently would lead to no arrests and the said Bomb Factory would not have been discovered.

If the Government devotes a fraction of the money spent importing dustbins on  intelligence gathering, who knows how many lives might have been saved,  . .This is what we get when we allow clueless airheads to lead a nation
PoliticsRe: Government Gives "shoot On Sight" Order In Akwa Ibom by violent(op): 10:01am On Mar 24, 2011
I wonder why the only way the government knows to manage civil unrest is to give military/police the authority to shoot at people.

What the fúck! we aren't talking about deers or rabbits here, we are talking about people with names and families.
PoliticsGovernment Gives "shoot On Sight" Order In Akwa Ibom by violent(op): 8:17am On Mar 24, 2011
The PDP led federal government has thrown its weight behind Gov Akpabio over the political crisis that has engulfed Akwa Ibom State. Today, it mandated security agencies in the state to shoot at sight persons intending to take advantage of the political tension to foment trouble.

Governor Godswill Akpabio, who has lost grip of the security situation, state announced the directive in Uyo as a measure to check continuing destruction of lives and property of people owing to the PDP/ACN clash which left scores of people dead as well as massive destruction of property in Uyo and Ikot Ekpene.

Our checks in Uyo on Wednesday showed that more than 40 people are feared dead. Property worth millions of Naira has so far been destroyed.
Governor Akpabio has blamed the crisis, which to everyone’s knowledge is traceable to the unaccommodating stance of the PDP government in the state, to opposition politicians. He said that the state cannot be left in the hands of criminals and political thugs, a statement similar to President Jonathan’s characterization of “rascals” in the western part of the country.

The governor said, “The president has called out all security agencies to comb the nook and cranny of the state and we have advised security agency to shot at sight anybody that wishes to promote criminality in the state. We will not condone it.”

He further said, “The federal government of Nigeria and the state government will react to the incidence of yesterday. The perpetrators should be worried. Every single person involved will be brought to book, no matter the political connotation brought to this. This is no longer politics. You cannot go and destroy over 800 cars, 500 keke napep, burn down all sorts of buildings in place and kill people. They went as far as cutting off the private part of PDP members who are now in the hospital, some men lost their private parts yesterday and some were killed outright.

“What is happening now in Akwa Ibom state for me is an organized attack on the people of the state to create a state of fear and a state of insecurity. This is part of the plan. They are also trying to see if they can provoke ethnic rivalry so that it will look as if the various ethnic groups in the state are fighting so that they will call for a state of emergency like what is happening in Jos. But it is a foolishness of the part of the planners because anybody who wants to contest election to rule a people should not kill the same people. Anybody who wants to contest election should know that the primary purpose of government is to protect lives and property and ensure peace,” Akpabio stated.

SaharaReporters recalls that the clash between PDP/ACN sparked off from Ikot Ekpene and snow balled into Uyo when supporters of PDP tried to stop the campaign train of the ACN gubernatorial candidate, John James Akpanudoedehe, from entering into Ikot Ekpene.

The clash between Akpabio’s supporters and Udoedeghe’s followers resulted in the loss of lives and destruction of schools and cars in the state secretariat, and of President Jonathan’s campaign office within the Abak and Ikot Ekpene road axis.

PoliticsRe: Why Is There No Looting In Japan? by violent(m): 9:06pm On Mar 23, 2011
No looting in Japan?  I would want to believe there are outliers in every statistics no matter how minute it might seem. . . .or is Japan simply a country full of satisfied people without greed?

That asides, I believe the Japanese culture is greatly influenced by several moments in History during which individuals have developed a certain rare sense of empathy and an ability to bond during severe catastrophic events, such as the setbacks suffered during the world war 2.  Additionally, the Japanese have a way of preserving their culture from external influence, it was reported that between the periods of 1633 and 1853, Japan was isolated from the rest of the world.  Foreigners were not allowed to enter, neither could any Japanese leave the country, a breech of this was said to have carried the capital punishment.

I'd like to believe that this is a period in which societal values were greatly enforced, and the Japanese people were thoroughly schooled to understand what Honor and shame meant, they were also lead to believe that it must be a great honor to serve and die for one's country, this probably is where the roots of KamiKaze fighting evolved from.

I believe this culture was simply passed down through subsequent generations.
