If and if only a serious government had a monitoring station with "a thousand" security cameras per street, which should only cost a few billions to implement across the country. . .we could all be saving ourselves a heck of troubles.

and who the fck is Eduware?. . what relationship does he have with Henry Okah?. . .

from all indications, we might start assuming that Niger Delta Renaissance Network could have been the MEND faction that claimed responsibility for the bomb attacks.

If that was the case, then Dokpesi should be sleeping in a Police cell by now

Isn't there a record somewhere that indicates that the highest count of Nigerian murders is attributable to Islamic riots and rampage?. . now we budget such huge sums for their trip down to Saudi, at whose expense may i ask?

Pls sit down again and consider why you had the mind of giving him your votes before. Is this one mistake bigger than that reason. May the lord help you to decide.
for now, my vote is hanging, i have lost my confidence in Jonathan although he seem the preferred choice given the list of other aspirants.

I'm definitely not voting IBB, Saraki, Asari Dokubo, Henry Okah, Atiku or Dele Momdu!

No one is actually thinking---what about the students?. . .are they willing to learn?

and before folks start casting stones my way, take a chill pill and have a rethink, its convenient to blame the government for all kinds of woes, even though in most cases, this is true, we should sometimes learn to take a step backward to examine some of the root cause of the problems.

Take a walk into any preliminary school these days and ask an average kid what they'd like to become in future. . .you'd be met with a chorused "I want to be a rich man". . .what??

It doesn't make any much sense if the government build newer schools, and furnish such with the latest technology when kids wouldn't attend class anyway, and even if they do, such structures risk being burnt or severely damaged by students/pupils at slightest provocation. . .{yes, you heard me right, PUPILS}

All I'm stressing is, the rest of the society has a big role to play as well

Why are EX militants denying responsibility when they don't even belong to the group anymore, the word EX was placed there for a reason innit?. . could it be that they are under pressure to do so just as Okah had alleged?

If it was truly organized by IBB's camp, what would have been the objective?

PoliticsFifa Suspends Nigeria by violent(op): 3:55pm On Oct 05, 2010
The FIFA Emergency Committee decided today, 4 October 2010, to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect on account of government interference.

This decision follows the latest events linked to the NFF, such as the court actions against elected members of the NFF Executive Committee preventing them from exercising their functions and duties, the stepping down of the acting NFF General Secretary on the instructions of the National Sports Commission, the decision of the Minister of Sports to have the Nigerian League start without relegation from the previous season, and the fact that the NFF Executive Committee cannot work properly due to this interference.

The suspension will be maintained until the court actions have ceased and the duly elected NFF Executive Committee is able to work without any interference.

During the period of suspension, the NFF will not be able to be represented in any regional, continental or international competitions, including at club level, and also not in friendly matches. In addition, neither the NFF nor any of its members or officials can benefit from any development programme, course, or training from FIFA or CAF while the federation remains suspended.

@Beaf
Dont mind them, they want 5 months magic.
I'm not asking for 5 months magic, and of cos, neither am i asking for a President who approves spending billions on waste bins and more billions importing rice from Brazil!

what next?. . .the president will prob want to celebrate Christmas at some point!

just remembered. . isn't it the same Jonathan that got a 7 billion naira house?. . .i don't want such presidents!

7 billion naira if spent at 200 million will build 35 state of the art schools with the the best technology across the country!

but hey no, our President deserves a good house!

1 billion naira if budgeted for student loans at 10 million per Nigerian child will see 100 million Nigerians going to school in their life time, guess what? we just spent the money on dustbins---quite appropriate you think?

Once again, I'm not asking for miracles, all I'm asking for is a man who is smart enough to make better decisions that will have a better long term value for the average Nigerian, surely, that can't be too much to ask, don't you think?

oh!. . i haven't even stated the amounts shamelessly spent on rice
PoliticsRe: Poll - Jonathan's Approval Rating by violent(m): 2:43pm On Oct 05, 2010
I have been a GEJ supporter all along, but I'm currently revising my opinion of him, he doesn't come across as someone who's poised to make and implement the kind of decisions Nigeria needs to forge forward.

All i have seen his administration achieved is mere talk. . .and more talk!

Till date, Nigerians still don't know who signed their last annual budget, and the president can't be bothered!. . . plus i'm of the opinion that the amount budgeted for the celebrations of the 50th anniversary is really ridiculous, i wouldn't want a President who can't be prudent enough to apply the country's limited resources to sectors of high priorities!

and what in Goodluck's name were President's advisers thinking to have encouraged Mrs Jonathan to continue with her "My-husband-needs-your-vote-desperately" rice distribution strategy?. . . i wonder how many jobs the resources expended on such unreasonable projects could have created!

Jonathan is good man, no doubts, he's trustworthy {debatable} and likeable leader. . .i just don't see a President in him!. . .plus i seriously doubt his capacity to lead Nigeria through a serious foreign military attack.

and before people ask me any further, No, i wouldn't be voting for IBB, Buhari, Atiku, nor Saraki. . . all numpty crooks!. . .I'd rather stay home and play with my dog danny!

Beaf:
Education failed during IBB's regime, not even after. We should never have changed the previous method.
The 6-3-3-4 system has produced two generations of Nigerians that cannot apply logic, except they are naturally gifted.
actually i'd say it produced the first generations. . , teachers from that generations taught those in the the second generation
PoliticsRe: Education: 6-3-3-4 Has Failed – Jonathan by violent(m): 2:26pm On Oct 05, 2010
It doesn't stop at Funding the educational sector!. .

I believe one of the problems is highly attributable to the curriculum!

How do you explain to the world that the same curriculum that was taught to our fathers in the early 60s are being used for our kids?. . .duh!. . the world has moved on!

In china, India etc, kids are forced to take highly quantitative courses at a very tender age, crossword puzzles and brain development exercises are also included in their course works, the result of this of course is a child developing good quantitative skills and mental reasoning capacity.

Truth is, the standard hasn't been set high to begin with. . . and silly me to talk about the standards when the teachers are themselves of low IQ levels.

It bothers me to think the government can't put appropriate systems in place to weed out the poorest teachers and employ, motivate/retain really smart ones.
How does a teacher of an IQ in the range of 40-50 teach a kid to explore the peak of his intelligence levels?. . .simply absurd right?

I also find it distracting to talk about good educational systems when laws haven't been put in place to stress the importance of right of kids to education. . .it does sound like someone is beating the wrong drums! . . . Kudos to BRF of Lagos state who would stop at nothing to ensure that kids aren't found hawking stuffs on the street during school hours. . . . .shouldn't the Federal government take a clue from this and extend it further?

All over Northern states, you find kids taking care of cattle, i don't blame them nor blame their family, its what they know how to do, and its not even illegal, i blame the government who doesn't give a flying hat about those kids!

Mr President should stop blaming the 6-3-3-4 system, the same system has produced some brilliant minds in the country.

SUSPECT 1: "Have you collected the balance from DOKPESI?"

SUSPECT 2: "Na we do am. Meet me make I brief you"

SUSPECT 3: "Let us meet at IBB Campaign Office"

This actually does make more sense than the initial.

Looking at the bigger picture, if GEJ had it in mind to get IBB and cohorts locked up, he needed not fabricate a dirty plot against him when EFCC could go after his arse with all sorts of evidence.  Even I, could research evidence than could get IBB locked up till the sun turns purple, why go the extra mile to cook up a "dirty bomb" plot?
