You need a letter from your school stating that English is the medium of instruction. It will be issued by your school's registrar and addressed to NARIC. However, your school will not send it to NARIC themselves, they will send it to you then you will scan it and upload to NARIC.

I think you are better of with IELTS, just register for the next available one if what you want to use it for is time-bound.

I did IELTS and NARIC but I used the IELTS because before NARIC came out owing to my school's delay in issuing the said letter, I had already applied with IELTS and my visa was even out seff.

Maybe things have changed or I don't understand you properly.
When I did mine, I gave them cert and transcript, they evaluated and gave me proof of English certificate. I wasn't the one that gave them proof of English.
Nonetheless, uploading just your highest qualification should be fine.

Are you talking about getting NARIC proof of English proficiency? you need to upload your certificate and transcript.

You need to tackle the source of mold. In the meantime, buy a dehumidifier to take out the excess moisture in your house. Brand new ones are about £200 or you could pick up a fairly used one from Facebook.

Thank you very much, this is an eye opener. My apartment has dehumidifier but I didn't know the value. I remember my landlord telling me when I came to put it on when I wash clothes I just said ok. After reading this post, I read the manual and put it on, you need to see the quantity of water it has collected in my enclosed room. Many part of my walls that were wet are now dry.

Humidity level was 90% when I put it on, it is now 68% at the time of this typing. 40% is my target.

I tried wise and saw a popup that CBN has banned naira transfer. They gave another option though that will still make the money reach the recipient in Nigeria. You can give it a try...select usd as target currency, select swift then put your naira bank account number.

Is there a regulation that a house to let must have fridge and washing maching? Otherwise don't victimise yourself, it is not an immigrant issue. The landlord has advertised his house the way it is, it is left for you to rent it or continue your search. At least in the advert they didn't specify 'immigrants only'. Before I paid for mine, he specifically told me no fridge and washing machine.

Regarding the loan, where I come from the saying has it that a) you never loan money you can't afford to lose, and b) when you loan a friend money, factor in that you are likely going to lose both friend and money. This doesn't have anything to do with Nigerians, I definitely don't think Nigerians are any less helpful to friends and family than any other country as people like to state, its simply that the extended family system has broken down, so the circle of "family" is now narrower than it was in our parents' generation.

If you change job mid-way, the new employer has to sponsor you and your 5 year route to ILR starts afresh. That's the temptation I will avoid no matter the pay involved.

This just pertains to the company. As per government guidelines, you can take up another job if its in the same occupation code and with a max of 20 work hours per week.

If you will be doing more than 20hrs per week in the second job you will need a visa for it

I’m trying to renew my child’s Nigerian passport and was told he’ll need a NIN before he could apply. Please how true is this for children under 16 years old.
Also i was told i have to apply for my NIN first (even though i’m not applying for passport renewal at the moment) before my child could apply for his NIN.

NIN registration is £40 per person. I just don’t understand all these unnecessary costs as a result of passport renewal.

Below is my experience at Qatar airport that may not be seen as a risk but may get you into a watch list. Also, you really do not want to experience it for your own sanity.

Before traveling, we got several advises to go with malaria drugs; that there is no malaria drug in UK and that if the small malaria parasite in our body manifest, no treatment, we will be isolated, so wifey got some sachet of coartem and paracetamol and put them in her handbag.

On getting to immigration at Qatar, I was holding her handbag because she was carrying baby, seeing that she was with a baby, she was allowed to pass without hindrance but I and her bag with me with my own bag was scanned. While her bag with me was being scanned, the scanner sounded an alarm indicating the presence of illicit drugs, see the way these guys focus attention on me, I con be like celebrity. See the way they were making calls, took my passport and ticket, made several documentation, instead of me to be scared or worried, I was like shey na on top Coartem them dey form activity like this?

Then a female officer asked me if I was with any drug, I said no, they cleaned the scanning instrument and scanned everything again but there was no second alarm, so they began to make calls again and I overheard them saying things like "false positive, negative ..." and then they asked me to pack my things and go. My wife was already worried because she was observing from a distance. They still took some of my data and made certain documentations though.

So if you have gotten such advice and plan to go with any drug for any reason, think about it well. For me, I don't think there is any illness that is beyond these guys, so don't bother yourself too much with over preparation.

The dependent (husband) wants to go first to sort out accommodation and the main applicant (wife) will join with the children.

No idea, but when I and my family travelled, I was the one that was thoroughly questioned at the immigration, they didn't pay attention much to my wife and child being my dependants. I suggest you all go together or you go first as the main applicant. You can sort the accommodation then they'll come join you.

By the way can't you people stay together in that place he's planning to stay alone first?

I will take it that you haven't understood the rental terms.

12 months or 6 months contract means you will sign that you will stay in the apartment for 12 or 6 months respectively. However, you pay rent monthly or weekly. So if the house rent is £500, you sign 12/6 months contract but you'll be paying £500 monthly or about £125 weekly.

You will deduct the deposit from your first month's payment if you eventually get the apartment.
