You don't understand political economy. It has layers. No matter what you do at the higher layer if the lower layer do nothing you can't have the desired results.

The subnationals manage the microeconomy and the federal manages macroeconomy. It is not diversion of responsibility but political economic management. In management we call it common goal congurence.

For example PBAT's decision concerning fuel subsidy and fx rate unification has freed more resources to the subnationals but he cannot control them on how they spend it. He can only advise.

He was simply talking to the governors to prepare their minds for the likely event. That they should start thinking at the micro level of the likely mitigation while he thinks at the macro level.

Inherited rich foreign reserves but blew it?
That had so much in excess crude account but blew it?
That couldn't provide infrastructure?

That started borrowing again after OBJ cleared much of our external debts?
That had high crude oil price but couldn't save nor provided infrastructure even to his village?

You think that I'm lying. I live in Lagos but I have been working in Aba since 2014 up till now. My residence is at WBHE off MCC road. My office is on Aba Owerri Rd. I'm an igbo like you from Owerri. I can go on and on and mention different parts of Aba and Abia. There is no one school bus in Aba offered by any politician. I drive around Aba north and south regularly, there is no Abaribe borehole anywhere. Maybe he did one or two in some remote locations but that is not what he can only offer his constituents for the donkey years that he has been in the national Assembly. Let's stop hyping these politicians that are only lining their pockets.

Good evening, I'm from his constituency. Abaribe is a known face in Abia South which includes: Obingwa, Ugwunagbo, Aba North, Aba South, Osisioma Ngwa etc.
Most secondary schools in Aba have boreholes. He while in PDP joined hands with late Ossy Pristege to provide free buses for students in Aba. He host yearly made in Aba goods exhibition in Abuja.

Politics aside, Abaribe drives himself when in Aba without security guards. Ikpeazu forced him out of PDP, he contested against Ikpeazu under APGA and defeated a seating governor (Ikpeazu).

What we are seeing now is the only avenue to stop him come 2027 because no politician is as popular as he is in Aba.

NB: late Ifeanyi Uba left YPP and move to APC and it wasn't issue; infact he was celebrated, YPP had no crisis then. Ppl talking about new electoral law failed to realize that this law guiding defeation has been there and didn't evolve as a result of the new electoral law, thank you.

I live in Aba ooo. All these are lies. Where are the buses? Where are the boreholes? I dey live for osisioma ooo. No impact of Abaribe. Ifeanyi Uba resigned from YPP and joined APC. Let Abaribe resign from APGA and join ADC. He will not because he will lose his seat.

I recall in the 2000’s Dangote established a petroleum exploration company. Assuming back then he invested heavily into oil exploration, he won’t be having issues with importing crude oil.

You are talking about track record. It's not so. It's about policies. The Nigerian economy before now was archaic. Didn't you see how the oil companies were all leaving? Do you think that anyone would have invested in our mid and downstream sectors with all those subsidies? Why was it that so many collected refinery licences but none set up? Do you think that an investor will spend his billions and one government will be somewhere controlling prices through subsidy? Tinubu's reforms is beginning to open up the Nigerian economy. This is the attraction.

Until our power sector is fully liberalized it will not attract private sector investment. Atiku and pdp's privatisation was fake that's why it didn't attracted any fdi.
