mrvitalis:
Yes the project was not initiated by Tinubu it was done under Buhari

Tinubu government has absolutely nothing to do with that project.. Crediting the project to him is just plain evil trying to hide Tinubu government neglect for south east
So Buhari has become a darling? Is this the first time that that road has been awarded. Why didn't them execute it. Tinubu can abandon it if he likes. Are abandoned projects not littered all over the place?

I love this response from you to that propagandist.
Concrete roads started with this government.
It means that arrangement was renegotiated. It can be stalled by FGN if certified valuation is not allowed or delayed in being used as credit.
In government contracting awarding a project is not the issue but execution is the key. A regime can award but the succeeding regime can stall the execution. Have you forgotten that it was awarded by Buhari regime that you hate so much? I hope that you can see that your propaganda is empty.
TravelRe: Enugu-Onitsha Expressway Being Constructed With Cement Concrete By Tinubu Govt by Vision101(m): 9:09pm On Jan 24
mrvitalis:
It's being constructed by MTN nigeria
Initiated by the late Pascal Dozie when he was chairman of MTN nigeria

This has nothing to do with Tinubu
9th mile to obi is bad
Aba to port Harcourt is bad
Owerri to port Harcourt is bad
Umahia to ikot ekpene is bad ( tho otti has taken over)
Aba to owerri is bad
Enugu to ogoja is bad

There are many federal road in south east that Tinubu can do... Stop stealing people's project
Even if you hate please don't deny truth. That's wickedness. It's being executed by MTN under a tax credit arrangement. It's FGN money. What it means is that when MTN wants to pay their tax they will deduct their amount spent on the road. It's not only MTN, Dangote group and others have been doing it.

Next time don't lie because of hatred.

Students are being asked to repay loans even when they haven’t graduated or gotten jobs.

Yet a Tinubu supporter, an Agbadorian called hopexter, was confidently arguing in another thread that the same NELFUND loan is free education for university students.
Always looking for negative things.
The headline is misleading.
The loan has specific conditions.
There is no way current students will be asked to start repaying.
The information is intended for those that have graduated and have met the condition for repayment.
If you have any information concerning a current student that has been asked to repay bring it up here with evidence.

PoliticsRe: Defection: ‘i’m Not For Sale’ – Kwankwaso by Vision101(m): 2:48pm On Jan 24
Ofunaofu:
Supporting policies without owning the outcomes is a neat trick, but Nigerians don’t live in policy memos, we live in results.

You say 2027 will be easy, yet the same “clear program” has delivered historic inflation, a weaker naira, shrinking purchasing power, and more people sliding into poverty all by design, we’re told, so criticism is now framed as impatience.

Asking the opposition what they’ll reverse is fair. But the tougher question is this; how long should Nigerians suffer before these reforms start working, and who takes responsibility if they don’t?

Reform isn’t bravery just because it’s painful, it’s only credible if it improves lives within a reasonable time. Until then, calling hardship 'vision' and dissent 'ignorance' won’t win arguments… or votes.
Step by step reply:
1. Supporting policies without owning the outcome.
From inception I supported the policies and I had confidence that they will produce good results. What was my reason? The main driver is a tested hand and had tested team. When Yemi Cardoso was appointed I wrote it here that I know him at close quarters and he will not disappoint. If you are a good economist you will understand that it will take exceptional efforts to hold down inflation to what it is now when you devalue and remove subsidy at the same time. These are two policies that should take inflation over the roof.

2. Weaker naira, historic inflation etc.
What is historic in 15% inflation? The value of naira you had before were subsidized. It has no reflection of true performance of your economy. First you used oil money to subsidize. Later you started borrowing money to subsidize. You continued to sell oil upfront to subsidize. The worst of it was when we started printing money not backed by anything. The value of the naira that we have now fairly reflects the performance of the economy. Have you not noticed that the early wide movement has stopped? Arbitrage and reckless importation have been killed. What is your better prescription for the problem that we faced in 2023?

3 How long should Nigerians suffer before they start seeing the results?
Roll out all economic indicators that are used to judge an economy, place pre May 2023 and December 2025 side by side and answer the questions yourself. The issue is that Nigeria operates a federation. You can call it a flawed federation if you like. The center is responsible for macroeconomic policies and actions and the subnationals are responsible for microeconomic policies and actions. Presently the effects of the good results at macro are not fully reflected at the micro. This is the first time since the second Republic that we are having actions at the center that demands same actions at the subnationals. But the political parties don't have ideology so the subnationals are just doing anything that they like. APC for example ought have a party program and ideology such that all their states will be running them.

Your last points
In a country like Nigeria the average questions are: how much is price of dollar, bag of rice, litre of PMS etc even if it means having them cheap today only and in four years let it be difficult to have any and then they will start lambasting the man in authority without knowing that the problems have been brewing for years but cleverly dodged by previous people because they are hard decisions. Because of this mentality which is usually a tool in the hands of opposition the average Nigeria will never like a forward thinking government. What surprises me is that those that know pretend that they don't know because of politics.

I pity PBAT. He has chosen the unpopular and hard way which is actually the right way. History definitely will have a good place for him. In years to come his actions will receive positive reviews.
PoliticsRe: Defection: ‘i’m Not For Sale’ – Kwankwaso by Vision101(m): 10:44am On Jan 24
Ofunaofu:
Exactly. Defections driven by patronage don’t equal popular support. Even in 2023, despite APC having 25 governors, Tinubu won only 12 states. That alone shows governors don’t deliver votes.

With widespread public knowledge that defecting governors are being enticed with figures like N250 billion, this strategy only breeds resentment within the party. You can buy defections, but you can’t buy the electorate
See...eeh I'm not an APC or Tinubu supporter but I openly support his policies. 2027 will be his easiest election. In 2023
His president worked against him.
His party worked against him.
The performance of then president worked against him.
Someone that has no performance record rode on the frustration of the youths and ordinary people.

In 2027 we will ask the opposition clear questions and they must tell us what they will do differently and not China, Egypt, Malaysia etc.

Will they bring back the multiple exchange rates and subsidize the naira?
Will they bring back fuel subsidy?
Will they cancel the tax reforms?
Will they cancel NELFUND?
Will they merge ministry of petroleum resources and gas resources as it was before?
Will they stop the efforts to upgrade our infrastructure because Obi said that provision of infrastructure doesn't grow an economy.
Etc etc.
They must never accept to use any of the products of the reforms because they condemned all.

Only when we look at their alternatives that we will agree to support them. The man that they want to unseat had his clear program from day one and he is pursuing it with a single mind even at the risk of his popularity.
PoliticsRe: Defection: ‘i’m Not For Sale’ – Kwankwaso by Vision101(m): 10:20am On Jan 24
AMINDA:
At this point, even Agbadorians can no longer deny that their tin-god is offering money to governors to decamp to their party. As well as the prospect of neutralising their opposition in the APC by becoming the automatic candidate. It may appear too good a deal to pass up on by the governors but it has its risks. There will be too many aggrieved politicians in the ruling party whose ambitions have been scuttled in favour of the president's own ambition. It may also not translate to votes for the president come 2027. Despite APC having 25 governors in 2023, Tinubu won only 12 states, and only half of those states were APC-governed states.
Always bringing different issues.
Were you there when the money was given?
Why did Obi run? Maybe ADC gave him money.
Are you not aware that in 2023 even APC worked against Tinubu?

All your calculations using 2023 as template (including Obi's 2023 bragging right) are irrelevant because 2027 is entirely different. New formations and there is a boost on 2023 strength for the man at the center.

FoodRe: The Hidden Danger Of Falling Food Prices In Nigeria by Vision101(m): 6:30pm On Jan 23
lawani:
In other countries, the government do buy produce off farmers to keep the prices high enough. The produce is then destroyed. They can do that because government have a lot of money from taxes. In Nigeria, farmers are left to their fate and it is often scarcity followed by plenty. Low prices followed by high prices season after season. That has been the culture or practice in the country for years. It is also the natural way things are done since time immemorial
Nigerians asked for low prices, called government names and derided the president for high prices. What else do you want the government to do.

PoliticsRe: Opposition Lamenting As Nigerians Now Say Food Are Too Cheap- Oshiomhole (video) by Vision101(m): 12:27am On Jan 23
Dogalmighty17:
No policy of the APC caused the current downward trend in food prices. I'll explain why in a moment.
1. Fresh off the 2023 elections, there was excess liquidity in the system. This put money in the hands of people who had no original ideas for investment. Storage and hoarding appeared to be a safe investment with guaranteed returns and a great number of Nigerians with excess disposable income, ventured into it. However, the economic policies Tinubu adopted, massively reduced the purchasing power of Nigerians such that demand for goods and services became stunted.

Storage is a circle. The stored produce have to be offloaded at some point. With demand being lethargic and a glut of supply encroaching, most people engaged in storage business started panicking and sold off since they weren't sure how further prices will fall. This is the principal reason why the prices of commodities dropped.

2. It is worth harping again that anything that affects demand, leads to price drops. This is basic economics. Supply will always be a step ahead of demand when demand can't be backed up by purchasing power. More goods, less demands, equals price drops.

The key reason why prices are dropping is because Nigerians are poorer than ever. I challenge anyone with a contrary opinion to name one government policy that is responsible for the current and TEMPORARY price drop.
Were Nigerians richer in 2023 and 2024 than 2025? Show figures and not theoritical economics.

You are so illogical. You are comparing ten years gap price difference. Compare 1995 to 2005 and 2005 to 2015 and come and tell us the results. Even if your beloved had assumed power in 2023 would it have been logical to compare prices in 2015 and 2025. Our public space exposes people with low level of logical and critical thinking.

Is there any profession not underpaid.in Nigeria? All the country's money has been stolen by the politicians and stashed abroad, leaving most Nigerians pauperised.
It has been like this in most professions. I trained as an accountant in a practice in the nineties. Our pay then was less than what the bank clerks were earning. Our managing partner then trained and qualified in England. He will remind us that we haven't seen snow and that we were supposed to pay for the experience that we were getting. Some left and took jobs lower than accountants in industries. We persevered.

I got a major job because of my experience and the profile of the practice and in three months I changed my accomodation, my dressing, savings and I could afford anything I wanted. In the professions if you want to launch out big then you must be ready to go through the pains of the early years. It's the same all over the world. Not a Tinubu Tinubu thing.

Your language is entirely different from what the expert is saying. Even if PBAT loses and your Obi takes over he will still go down if the corrections that he pointed out are not made.

Your concern should be how do we make the corrections? How can politicians including your Obi lack principle and ideology? How can all of them win positions with APGA, switch to PDP, then to LP and hustling under ADC? This is the crux of Gambari's speech. Gambari is saying that it's all about power and position and not principle and the masses. Not this your constant Tinubu will lose and Tinubu will lose.
