I am a first time car owner too. April this year. I had to go with my brother who had extensive knowledge of cars and his mechanic.
Then I have my own scanner now. I scan my car and have first hand knowledge of any issue. Then check the codes online and then watch YouTube videos on the problem resolution. Then I contact my mechanic and tell him what I want him to do. And the issue gets solved.
So scan that your car.

Hello, sorry to barge into you this way..

My Honda Civic just started a funny stuff, after driving for a while, once I put the gear on park, it parks but once I put it on drive or reverse afterwards, the engine goes off while the lights are still on inside, and same happens after driving for a few minutes and decide to reverse..

Please what can be the cause, my mecho has no idea, rewire too has tampered with the wirings and slow still same..

But 2 other mecho I called gave 2 different assessments..
First one said it's the Gear switch in the gear box
Second one said it's the Gear fuse (not sure) in the Engine hood

Please advise

I noticed my car was consuming too much fuel so I took it to a mechanic on Wednesday. We checked the plugs and he changed it because it was bad,he also cleaned the MAF sensor with abro cleaner because it was dirty. My car started vibrating on cold start today and I have to start it up to three times and check engine light is on. I called the mechanic and he said I must have bought fuel that has water in it and that I should bring the car so he can clean the injectors.

I want to know if anyone has experienced this before. Car is 2008 Honda Accord. This is the first time check engine light is showing on the dashboard.

Buy a scanner. you can scan if u suspect any issues yourself and know first hand what is erong with your car.
Na you go even tell mechanic what you want him to do on the car.

How does one know his break is binding? Sometime two months ago, I was on 3rd mainland when I saw my car give me a prompt 'check break system'.
Since then I have changed break pads and yet that message comes up. And my fuel consumption is up.
How does one explain to kazeems to check for binding breaks?

Different issue with what I experienced with mine three weeks ago. Mine was coming up but was not generating sounds. My rewire checked and said it was the amplifier. We got a new amplifier and all was ok again.
