Simple.What I have been advocating as the primary means of reducing suffering and checking inflation:
The greatest cause of inflation and suffering is transportation cost due largely to the fuel price increase.Private transport unions led by agberos exploit every opportunity to increase fares arbitrarily;so the way to force them to bring down fares or increase it to a bearable level is for government not to fix prices but by intervening in the market,reducing fares on goverment buses or even simply not increasing it despite increased fuel cost,would force NURTW, RTEAN etc,to bring down their own fares because people would rather wait to access the goverment owned BRT with cheaper fares.
But the buses should be increased because there would be massive upsurge in those now using it.
If it's sustainable and long lasting,not just a 2 month stuff as he did during the campaign period,then this is a very good strategic intervention by Sanwo-Olu.

FLASH: Governor of Lagos State, Mr @jidesanwoolu has announced Palliatives to cushion the effect of the Fuel subsidy removal:

- 50% reduction on Lagos Buses from Wednesday

- 25% reduction in Yellow buses fees which will be announced officially by their body

LAGOS STATE WORKERS: Governor @jidesanwoolu also announced the expansion of the Fleet of Staff Buses for the Workers in the Lagos State Public Service to cushion the effect of the Subsidy removal, Mr Governor says the buses are ready and will be deployed thru the HOS office.

MORE PALLIATIVES: Governor @jidesanwoolu has also announced good palliatives for the poor and vulnerable in the society thru various stakeholders (CDAs, Religious Groups, etc), the foodstuff will also be purchased Locally.
