NeuroToby: My name is Tomiwa and I'm grateful for all the responses that I have gotten.
I have decided to stick with Curtin University, being a level 1 university, even though, it's more expensive. I have also decided to process the tuition deposit through Form A, if it's come out on time to meet visa lodgement for January departure, fine... if it doesn't, I'll defer my offer till July.
Two questions though... 1. If my course is supposed to start by July, for instance, and I pay for OSHC starting from February, will I be allowed entry? 2. How easy is it to get job before my course starts in July, in a city like Perth? Hello Tomiwa! Please can I send you a mail? My sister is interested in Australia for her masters study in public health and from your post, you're already done with the admissions process. I have some questions and would be really grateful to get some answers from you. Thanks. |

I could literally feel your pain from just reading the last line you wrote. Sorry about the denial and I pray your next trial will be an approval story. I'm curious about your profile since you're an undergraduate applicant...are you fresh out of secondary school? Joclins: Interview Slated for 10am but went 6am and got interviewed around 9am. The VO was denying so many B1/B2 and only gave just two people(One is a woman with her 2children and husband and she looks and sounds like she knows what she's doing). There were only few F1 VISA and I think I was the second or third F1 to be interviewed. VO was a white guy, looks like he's in his 30s. Has a skinny head and looks fresh. He's the only person available for all NON-Immigrant Visas that morning. He was at window 1. School: WIU COA: 33k DEFICIT: 26k SCHOLARSHIP: 7K FAMILY FUND: 43K Programme: Biochemistry (Bachelor) Interview was at Lagos. |

Instead of an associate degree in nursing, why not opt for the accelerated nursing program for people who already hold a bsc in any field. It's usually a 14-24 months program and you obtain a Bsn afterwards. Now the problem is convincing visa officers why you want to switch from a finance career to a nursing career but seeing as you studied microbiology you can build a strong reason. Also it's not unheard of to go with a certain course and switch upon arrival. VMuna: Love and Light bro.
I actually felt angry on your behalf. LOL. Meanwhile that lady Visa Officer who used to answer questions here some years back said that Account statements weren't really necessary or required for their decision making. I don't know if that still stands.
Congratulations on your success.
I have plans of switching from banking to nursing. Have got a B.Sc in Microbiology, have always worked in the bank but wish to pursue an Associate Degree in Nursing. I don't know what my chances are of getting the visa approved.
Another option I'm considering is to seek for an MBA, since that aligns more with my career, then switch course to Nursing upon landing.
What do you think?
Would appreciate your response please.
Thanks. |

I'm sorry to hear about the denial but one thing I'll say is don't sit this US thing out. I don't know if this is your first but don't feel discouraged. I hope other people with insight on the sponsorship point will give their input. xx Vavavoom2021: I got denied and it’s definitely cause my sponsor was in the US. The VO asked if he stays in Nigeria and as soon as I said no. She just began typing and handed out the blue slip. So I would like to know what happens if I change my sponsor to my mum after being denied is that another red flag? Or should I just sit this US thing out so I don’t complicate things |

Wait a sec, is this your supposed answer to the question "reason for previous denial?" which in a nutshell was your inability to prove strong home ties during your previous interview?. Respectfully, this is unnecessarily long, tacky and screams I'm desperate. Keep it short, precise and straight to the point; sometimes less is more. Valolisa147: Please i need help on this.... someone should please proofread and correct me. Thank you all
I was previously found ineligible for a Non-immigrant Visa because, i failed to establish ties that will compel me to return to my home country Nigeria. I would like to state that I am blessed with the smallest family unit that consists of just my Dad, I and my only beloved sister. I love them both so much to abandon them here in Nigeria even after my studies in the United States. Moreover, my studies was inspired by the desire to broaden my knowledge in IT and take my budding company to the next level and in turn take care of my only family. In the same vein, I also do not intend to leave behind, my guardian/sponsor; Mrs ……... who happens to be my late mother’s brother’s wife (Uncle’s wife). I have been under her tutelage since the death of my mother since 2006. In continuation of that care and guardianship, she is willing and has shown her financial ability to cater for all expenses relating to my travel to the United States from flight expenses to tuition and living expenses. She is one family I am not willing to abandon in Nigeria and so would definitely come back home.
Emphatically, I wish to state again that I have been running a start-up Tech company (OYO) with a friend for three years now after I grew a passion for the Tech world. We plan to diversify and broaden the scope of our company with the knowledge I will gain from my intended study program. This would also compel me to come back to my country, Nigeria and through our company I would be contributing towards community development by harnessing talents to bridge the technological gaps in developing communities.
In conclusion, Nigeria is my home. I am the only son of my father as well as his only heir. This comes with a lot of responsibilities that can not be abandoned. Also, I have a purpose for my study in the United States which is to gain expert knowledge and experience in Computer Science and give back to my Nigerian community, especially the Igbo community. I would have to come back in order to actualise that purpose and goal. |

I see that most US universities offer a nursing pathway where you study for 2yrs to get your BSN since you already have a bachelor's degree. After the two years you get a bsn and you're eligible to take the nclex-rn exams basically you'll become a registered nurse if I'm not mistaken. Look into studying in the US MrHealth: Hello. Good Afternoon. Please I have a question. I am a Graduate from a Nigerian University. A Science Related background with Science O Level Results. I want to go back to School and study Nursing and practice in the UK, US or any other Country.
I have done my research and discovered I can do M.Sc Adult Nursing in UK (2 yrs) (but with healthcare experience) but the fees are just too high. Now I'm confused.
University Nursing is like 5 yrs again with JAMB. I don't know if I'm ready for another long hassle of spending another 5 yrs in University again. Thinking about the entire journey of writing "Probability" Jamb and spending those years in school again to get another B.Sc makes me so tired already.
Now I don't know what to do
Abeg I need advice or sponsor for M.Sc |

This is just my two cents...maybe the fact that you're going for an associate degree in nursing and planning to come back to set up your own geriatric center sounded illogical to the vo. Besides, lately most associate degree nurses are trying to further their education to get a BSN, but I can't say for sure the reason for the denial. Good luck on your next interview odidimekun: Hello everyone I got my visa denied yesterday so this was my transcript I want to know what I said wrong because I’m thinking of reapplying thanks School- Troy University Scholarship-50% tuition scholarship Course - Asn nursing Undergraduate
Me- Goodmorning V.O - Goodmorning, pass me your document Me- Sure ma’am V.O - I can see you’re going to Troy for an Associate degree in nursing Me - Yes I am V.O- Okay what’s your highest school qualification (or something like that can’t remember) Me - O’level and a predegree program result from Obafemi Awolowo university V. O- who will be sponsoring you? Me - My dad will and I got a 50% tuition scholarship from the school V. O- What’s your plan after you get this degree Me - I plan on coming back to Nigeria to take up a job as a geriatric nurse because I’m Nigeria the geriatric medical service is not prioritized and as a result of this there are less than 100 geriatricians to about 4 million old people and a lesser amount of this of geriatric nurses all over the country, My goal is to actually have my own geriatric center where the elder can come and get the right treatment they deserve. V.O - Okay I’m sorry you do not qualify for the visa blah blah blah and that was it
Please I will like to know what I did wrong, |

Thank you! Approvalll: Just mention you are coming back to Nigeria it’s not a must to tell them another country or they will think you don’t have strong home ties to your country and that you might change your mind when you get to the US and that you might remain there tell them you are coming back to Nigeria |

Good morning everyone!
Please, I'm curious about the visa interview part where proving or demonstrating home ties is an important part to possibly getting an approval. What if your reasons for wanting to study in the US means a career advancement opportunity in another country and not Nigeria, is this going to be an issue when you are asked "what will this degree do for you or what are your plans upon returning?" Please I'll appreciate an answer on this one. Thanks. |

If it's as bad as you just mentioned, why are you desperate to go back even after visiting consecutively for the past twenty years like you said earlier on? Moreover it's not about telling them about you father multiple business, how well did you deliver the answer to some questions you were asked? Were you well articulated when you answered some questions? I know sometimes the visa approval can be tricky and some might just be lucky but you need to just calm down and enjoy every passing day. I don't mean to be rude or disrespectful. I know that feeling when you want something so bad but it's not going as you expected, the frustration, the pain. Calm down and don't act like it's a do or die affair, on the bright side your parents are rich, as you process your visa application, have some fun, do things you love. I'm sorry if I've said anything wrong but enjoy yourself *hugs* Approvalll: 214b they said I don’t have strong ties to my country lol even after telling them about my father’s multiple businesses and companies in Nigeria anyways sha Na me mess up by being obedient and always following the rules next time if them give me I no go komot until I secure my green card before I leave that place because Americans don’t favour black people as it is a racist country and majority of its population are racist my advice to everyone is it’s only when you have a green card that everything can be guaranteed if you are lucky enough to secure a visa find a way to get your green card as America hate black people with passion or just go to Canada ps: I almost got shot on my last visit there probably because they thought I was a criminal lol thanks for the advice though you too much |

Hi everybody!
All I see here's mostly graduate and post graduate studies, application procedures, requirements and visa interview transcripts e.t.c
If you're considering going for your undergraduate studies and you've already started out with your application, It'd be a great deal to share (what your application process has been like, funding and some other information) as it will be of help to someone out here.
I'm pretty sure there are people who would appreciate such info.
Thank you!
