PoliticsRe: Your Take On The Calibre Of People In The Flood Committee? by Vogue50: 2:47pm On Oct 09, 2012
I greatly commend the federal government for including the permanent secretaries in the committee because their ministries will play a key role in disbursing and monitoring the execution of these projects . This will also ensure judicious utilization of funds raised.

The committee was set up to raise funds that will be used to assist the federal government. The likes of Dangote and Adenuga may not have the time but definitely can offer a reasonable financial assistance.

PoliticsRe: Pastor Bakare A False Prophet by Vogue50: 1:51pm On Oct 09, 2012
HammedSodiqq: The much celebrated and publicized alliance between the ACN and CPC appears to have crashed, as chieftains of both Parties have engaged themselves in war of words over who wins the Ondo state governorship election. Last week, Pastor TUNDE Bakare reportedly prophesied that Mimiko will win the oct 20 poll, maintaining that ACN would lose in the south west, with ondo as the starting point. He accussed the leadership of ACN of corruptly enriching themselves, buying Jet they cannot account for and selling their presidential ambition to the ruling party.
In a swift reaction to Bakare's prophecy, the ACN maintained that Pastor Bakare is a false prophet whose prophesy has never come to pass. Bakare according to them masquerade as a prophet while in reality he is a desperate politician seeking political relevance. The statement further claims that his uncontrollable ambition was the reason behind Buhari's failure.
Is Bakare really a man of God? Will his prophesy floor Tinubu's political strength in the south west? Between TINUBU and who will emerge victorious?

http://believeafrica.net/tunde-bakare-pushed-buhari-to-failure-with-ambition-acn-p215-94.htm
Bakare shouldn't make his political calculations or assumptions in the guise of GOD's revealed prophecy through him . He should emulate prophets in the bible by declining earthly treasures and focus on spreading the gospel of our lord Jesus Christ.

romi: To think i had to set a reminder since yesterday to wake up early and listen to GEJ's national address as i thought he wanted to assert his authority about the numerous Security concerns affecting the Nation only for him to waste 10minutes of my precious time announcing how DANGOTE(chairman), ADENUGA (vice), GOVERNORS, E.T.C and Him... Are going to share BILLIONS OF NAIRA all in the name of setting up FLOOD COMMITTEE, Haba Why!!!! SMH
Take a close look at the calibre of people u mentioned , especially the likes of Dangote and Adenuga , do they in anyway appear fraudulent? Are u not being silly ? Anyway, I consider your Comment trifling ; especially when it's coming from a Maladroit fool !
PoliticsRe: Your Views On GEJ's 7am National Address by Vogue50: 11:44am On Oct 09, 2012
Because we are not accustomed to brief presidential speeches like this , we consider it unnecessary and Improvised. Every leader has his or her own way to govern and shouldn't be misconstrued when he opts to thread on an unconventional path. For me , this act does not diminish his personality as the president or make him appear common rather depicts how a leader should behave by being submissive and reachable to his people.
He made the speech to assure the nation of governments commitment to fight and curb this prevailing flood disaster .He also made known to Nigerians that 17.6billion has been embarked to check and forestall Subsequent disaster.
This funds will be allocated as follows : 13.3billion naira for States , 4.3billion naira for Federal Govt and Agencies .
A comitee on flood relief and rehabilitation has been set up by the federal government to assist Govt raise funds to mitigate the poor and ensure the effect of post impact rehabilitation of victims.
PoliticsRe: Why Is President Jonathan Always Reading From A Teleprompter? by Vogue50: 11:02am On Oct 09, 2012
FrontPageLawyer: He looks so cheap reading word for word from the teleprompter. His media advisers should be sacked with immediate effect for insulting his intelligence.
So reading from a TelePrompter makes the president look so cheap? Obama reads from a TelePrompter also; does that make him cheap or has he sacked his aides ? Your comments are incoherent ; please be more logical .
PoliticsRe: Is It Too Late For Nigeria? by Vogue50: 10:41pm On Oct 08, 2012
Ufeolorun: Now Nigeria is in trouble just because people are venting on an ordinary book.
Tribalism isn't Nigerias problem and won't be the solution. Americas ascendancy was at its peak when it was most racist.
I think its utter laziness to keep going on about this tribalism issue as if its that strong enough to keep a country down.
nice one. Tribalism is a factor but not strong enough to disintegrate us.
PoliticsRe: Is It Too Late For Nigeria? by Vogue50:
Nigeria is 52 years old. Despite the fact that we have mismanaged, embezzled funds that were meant to better our country ; we still have hope to succeed and make things right for our future generations. It's quite pathetic but we need to be Resilient in order to thrive as a people.
Most developed countries in the world today like USA and CHINA suffered similar set backs for many years and still triumphed. It was easier for them to overcome especially because of their homogeneous environment.
Nigeria is a country filled with people of diverse ,multi ethnic culture and tradition , this heterogeneous environment gives rise to our incongoruous behaviors which makes it difficult for us to agree often as a people with one voice. It's really a mystery for such diverse group of people to co-exist as a nation since 1914. If we can co-exist since 1914 ; There is still hope for a better Nigeria !
PoliticsRe: Mimiko Blasts Tinubu, Says Fashola Is A Better Administrator by Vogue50: 7:33pm On Oct 08, 2012
touch_me_hard: His words: “I salute Babtunde Fashola, whatever anybody may say, he has shown a flash of brilliance in governance. “But the 8 years before Fashola, what did they do in Lagos?
“They used 8 years to build just one Millennium School; we in Ondo State, in just three and a half years, have built world class mega schools all over the state."

I can't help laughing at Tinubu
it's quite obvious that the learned senior advocate of Nigeria is a better administrator than the touting political godfather .

PoliticsRe: Why Are Nigerians In Diaspora So Bitter? by Vogue50: 6:51pm On Oct 08, 2012
thelastPope: I am really getting irritated by many Nigerians in diaspora. They seem bent on seeing Nigeria and Nigerians go down. They come here and all over other Internet sites spewing garbage about Nigeria. They will put down anything positive about Nigeria. It seems they are suffering from gross bitterness.

There is no denying the fact that Nigeria has many issues but we cannot solve it by hating ourselves with so much raw hate and talking nonsense all the time. There is a time to critisize. For example, I like to criticize our excesses on materialism as a people which leads us to many unwanted stuff like corruption and crime. But insulting the nation and saying we will never make it and making us look so pathetic to the rest of the world is just too bad! We have our dignity and pride and we will never sacrifice that on any alter of self defeat and hopelessness.

If these bitter diaspora folks can't see anything good about Nigeria and Nigerians, I wonder why they even bother to post on Nigerian forums. They should carry their crap somewhere else. They forget that they are part of those who have failed Nigeria because they have not made any meaningful contribution to Nigerian growth.

Some of us travel out of the country and know how many of these folks live in Europe and even the US. In spain, Italy and Greece, many of them beg on the streets. In the UK, I don't even want to start. They haul themselves, sometimes as much as 15 in a 2 room apartment! Yet they talk nonsense here on NL because they can afford cheap Tmobile internet connection.

We have no other country but Nigeria. We must stand up and build it. Yes, it is a long road but it is a journey worth taking! Our families and friends live here. The question we must ask ourselves today is how can we make it better?

Apologies/acknowledgement to the many Nigerians in diaspora who do not fall into this category. Your patriotic contribution is a blessing to some of us!
you have spoken well and I commend your patriotism. It's obvious that some people are crying more than the bereaved !

HNosegbe: "Is she occupying any government post" Are u serious? Are you aware that she's a perm sec in Bayelsa state? Are you aware that she has been using state resources in a capacity not recognised by the constitution (Office of the First Lady)? Are you aware that she was most likely flown and treated with public funds? Are you aware that she regularly uses the presidential jet for her trips around and outside the country?

No make me vex this morning, abeg.
so been a permanent secretary in bayelsa state is a criteria for state resources to be deployed to them for medicals? Amazingly jets have turned to vehicles that are been used frequently for trips? What a paradoxical statement ! Can see that u are on a lying spree , exhibiting Maladroitness and deceiving the less informed. If u cant take care of your health for obvious reasons of being insane ; a lot of sane people will do that to live and render meaningful services to grow this nation.

Ok who pays her special advisers and her aides and the sss and army that guides her, who pays for the planes that carries her around, How dare you say shes not a public offical.

people are just funny... with everything going on in the country nigerians are just acting like is business as usual,

The country is at a stand still, but i know we are docile people we would swallow all the pain and not do anything, because even when we come out to complain in a democracy, the government believes that we are paid to complain, the government sends army after us that complain.... and what do we do we go home and complain again.

Then the government starts looking for who to blame our president says he is not the cause of boko haram, floods were there before him, blah blah blah always giving excuses for noo=n performance,

But he fails to acknowledge that some other president built the refinary aome other president built the railway, some other president built the ASO rock he leaves in today, WHCICH ONE DID HE DO.

I am upset this morning the Mubi massacare made me cry, the floods made me sick, the lies from the government about roads and electricty make me boil but the killings in ALuu made me sit back and actually ask is there hope for this country?

My dear , stop deviating from the thread ! U are biased already and ur comments portray prejudice ! Focusing on a particular thread at a time will help u to be more cogent .let me clear ur ineptness for been too gauche ! Firstly, The president of a country is the chief executive and commander of the armed forces and also the chief protector of lives and properties of its citizens while the first lady is left with no portfolio duly designated to her by law. Yaradua's case is completely different from that of patience Jonathan.
Secondly , the country is not at a standstill and we are not docile as a people....I presume u may be the only one who accepts been docile !

Ogahtech: @vogue50 making fast money through legal process is not a problem. provided u will not abundant ur primary assignment. but imaging Nigerian students abroad are into drug business.
u are on point.
Their quest for fast money exposes them into deviant and eccentric practices such as doing drug business thereby abandoning their main purpose of traveling abroad .Also have in mind that they are still students and have limited tendencies of making genuine fast money. Their main priority should be to study and come back and grow our economy with the knowledge they have acquired abroad. Combining education and making money could make majority of them indulge into such practices and go astray.
PoliticsRe: Why Nigerians Most Undergo Drug And Aptitude Test Before Allowed To Study Abroad by Vogue50:
Undergoing drug and aptitude test before sending students abroad isn't a criteria to guarantee good morals and conduct abroad. It's just that most Nigerians already develop this fraudulent mindset of Making fast money rather than studying on arrival.
