A source hints that the decision was reached at the NEC meeting, on Wednesday. We also gathered that the new pump price will be implemented from February, this year and will most likely draw flare nerves from stakeholders, especially the organised labour which is already planning a January 27 protest against plans by the government to remove petrol subsidy entirely. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_7n_5IGuks

According to the presidential aspirant, his aim is to make sure no one is left behind in education. Fact File About The Most Popular City In Nigeria That Shock The World. Lagos is a busy port city built on a series of islands and surrounding land on the West Coast of Africa. It one of the fastest growing cities in the world, with a population of 21 million including its surrounding conurbation. Abuja became Nigeria’s capital in 1991, Lagos remains the economic heart of the country. The city is particularly notable for its transformation over the past 20 years, from a place which in the late 90s was beyond state control and regarded as dangerous, to a new world destination with a fledgling tourist industry, which is also attracting back the Nigerian diaspora. Today it is rapidly gaining built infrastructure and regulation, enabling it to attract more investment and continue to develop. Notably, it is building a whole new urban district, Eko Atlantic City, on land reclaimed from the sea, and protected by an 8.5km sea wall. This project reflects the challenges of climate change for Lagos but is also a major statement of confidence in the growing city. Like Nigeria itself, which is home to 180 million people, 300 tribes and 500 languages, Lagos is a melting pot of cultural traditions. The city has a lively growing arts scene, which is as much evident on the streets and in personal celebrations as in formal settings. Owambe parties are common involving large groups of people dancing until dawn, ubiquitous private buses play loud music on the streets and artists gather under bridges showcasing informal galleries of their work. There are also programmed events such as Lagos Street Carnival, with hundreds of performers, and the One Lagos Fiesta which now runs for eight days in several districts of the city at the end of the year, attracting international coverage. Therefore, it is natural that the city is also a place where the creative industries are very significant. Lagos is at the centre of the most important film industry in Africa, Nollywood, which produces around 1,500 films each year, telling stories of ordinary lives which have an appeal across the continent. It is one of the most important homes of the Afrobeats music movement, one aspect of a huge music scene which is beginning to draw tourists from further afield. The city’s formal cultural infrastructure currently consists of 14 theatres, 54 cinema screens, 51 art galleries and 12 museums, 68 bookshops and 20 libraries. Lagos has also been a significant part of the Nigerian Modernist scene, which it has embraced since the post-colonial era and is evident in its art and architecture, with highlights including the Didi Museum opened in 1983. Provision is still expanding: there are several projects underway to build or renew buildings for culture, including six 500 seat theatres. A new institution, Lagos Museum, is being created as part of the redevelopment of the Onikan area of the city as a cultural hub. The State supports cultural development through its Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and Council for Arts and Culture. These bodies recognise that developing tourism will be crucial not just for Lagos, but for the country as a whole. Lagos held its first tourism summit in 2017 and has begun to publish an annual events calendar so that both tourists and tour operators find it easier to plan visits to the city. City artists and performers deeply feel the social and political issues facing Nigeria, and a new generation have expressed these in films and plays. Overall, however, Lagos is gaining the formal structures it needs for its many burgeoning creative industries to do business in the wider world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MHWmmGU1ItY. https://www.divinevibez.com.ng/fact-file-popular-city-nigeria-shock-world/

Nollywood actor, Michael Duru in tears after N5m gift from Prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin vanguardngr 6h Veteran Nollywood actor, Michael Duru, who has been battling with an amputated leg due to diabetes has been gifted N5 million by billionaire prophet Jeremiah Fufeyin, who is the founder of Christ Mercyland church in Warri. In what appeared to be an emotional and dramatic moment for the actor, who has been confined in his home town in Anambara state after his doctor insisted that he must be amputated to survive, the prophet’s gesture brought tears of joy to the actor and his wife. In a video posted on the Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin Foundation social media page, Michael Duru explained that life has been difficult since he was amputated, adding that he couldn’t afford an artificial leg that he estimated at about N600, 000. The attention of the man of God was drawn to a video Duru had earlier made on social media regretting his state and seeking for assistance from Nigerians. The billionaire prophet thereafter sent a delegation to Duru’s home in Anambara to present cash gift of N5 million to the veteran. The moment left the actors in tear, warranting the gathering of the villagers and well wishers who were rejoicing over the development. The prophet’s action towards the actor is just one of the regular actions from the cleric. During the festive season, thousand of families were feted with over N85 million and foodstuff by the Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin Foundation, Barely one month ago, Fufeyin provided over N40 million to wives of men of the Nigerian armed forces, who died in service. He had also assisted Thespian Clem Ohameze with N8Million to offset medical bills. Last, nearly about N800 billion was said to have to have been released by the cleric as palliative in support of the Federal Government and the masses to assuage the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kuhxdqPi5Ug

Today's Headlines: "I'm Tired, I Can't Wait To Leave Office" -Buhari I'm Tired, I Can't Wait To Leave Office- Buhari Working six or seven hours a day as president of Africa’s most populous nations is an insufferable job, says President Muhammadu Buhari, wishing he “will be less busy.” Mr Buhari was born on December 17, 1942. “The age is telling on me. Working now for six, seven to eight hours per day in the office is no joke. There are questions of (the) executive council; memos from as many states as possible to be considered virtually every week,” lamented the Nigerian president. “Really, it’s a lot of hard work.” However, the 79-year-old added, “As I’ve said, I asked for it, and I cannot complain.” He disclosed that on his wishlist is the need to indulge himself in lazing around. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qcfPHeQje6E

I’m Aware Nigerians Are Suffering, But They Should Go Back To Agriculture, Buhari Declares President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday said he is absolutely aware of the suffering and pains Nigerians go through to feed themselves and their families under his administration. The President who stated this during an exclusive interview with Channels Television, however, encouraged the people to see agriculture as an option. “I’m absolutely aware of it (the suffering of the people),” he said. “But like I said, look at the vast population of Nigerians, only 2.5 percent of the land revenues are being cultivated. “We realised this rather too late, but we have to go back to the land (agriculture).” During the interview, President Buhari also spoke about a number of burning issues including security, economy, and politics, among others. He assessed his administration’s performance since he assumed office in 2015, especially in the three key areas of security, improving the economy, and fighting corruption. The President believes the situation has improved and his administration has continued to improve the economy, despite the nation’s dwindling resources. “For Nigerians to be fair with this administration is to try and find out from the time we won the election in 2015 till now, in the three promises we made – improving security, improving the economy, and trying to fight corruption; securing the country in the North East, if you ask anybody from Borno State, from Yobe State, from Adamawa State, there are a number of local governments – about 18 – that were in the hands of Boko Haram, no local government now is strictly in the hands of Boko Haram or ISWAP. So, in that respect, we have done something,” he asserted. “In the economy, don’t forget and I challenge so many people to go and check with the central bank or NNPC. The production from 1999 to 2014 was 2.1 million barrels per day. When we came, somehow the militants were unleashed in the South-South. “Production went down to half a million barrels per day, and coincidentally, the price again collapsed to about $37 per barrel. But look at what we did within the time frame and the resources available to us relative to the government we inherited. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-3iH0YSOmoI
