The Deeper Christian Life Ministry has lost one of its prominent members, Pastor Livinus Polycarp Nnadozie

According to the memo released by the church, Livinus died in Lagos on Tuesday, October 12, after a protracted illness

Lagos, Nigeria - Pastor Livinus Polycarp Nnadozie, former Church Secretary of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, has reportedly died at the age of 78.

PM News reported that the deceased was a very close aide of Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the church.

Nnadozie was also a member of the Board of Trustees of The Deeper Christian Life Ministry.

The memo said Nnadozie served meritoriously as the General Manager of Life Press Limited and as Church Secretary for many years before retiring in November 2008.

The memo added that details of the burial announcement will be announced later.

Governor Kayode Fayemi has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to turn NYSC camps into security training grounds to recruit “willing and able” graduates to join the military and the police.

Mr Fayemi pointed out that one of the cheapest and fastest ways to handle this was to amend the law setting up the National Youth Service Corps. If NYSC ‘corpers’ are converted into soldiers, they could be deployed to fight against Boko Haram terrorists, bandits, separatists and so on.

“With this, we can use the existing orientation camps to train willing and able graduates to reflate the security personnel under a special arrangement that will be worked out,” the Ekiti governor said.

“That way, the fund that is currently deployed to the NYSC can be used with just some additional funding, which could be sourced through a national emergency fund for the next five to 10 years.



“Those who cannot join the military services can serve in their community without pay if we must still retain the NYSC for everyone.”

In June, Shuaibu Ibrahim, the NYSC director-general, had said corps members were on reserve for war, as they are part of Nigeria’s national defence policy and could be mobilised for war.

Mr Fayemi explained that the step was necessary and a cheaper way to get 200,000 security personnel needed by Nigeria to tackle its worsening insecurity.

“By available statistics, we need a minimum of 200,000 personnel to boost the fighting power of our men,” stated the Ekiti governor.

“This number is very large and a potential financial and logistic nightmare,” he added. “Yet, we cannot delay any further. The ungoverned spaces needed to be closed up quickly by motivated men with the singular objective to save the nation; That takes us to the number two issue of financing and arming large recruitment.”

The governor maintained that “there are two things that we need to address quickly” to bring the current wave of insecurity to a halt.

“We need to have a conversation on how we can recruit a large number of people to join the police and the military, even on a short service,” the Ekiti governor stressed.



Last July, Governor Darius Ishaku of Taraba had expressed a similar thought stating that the NYSC should be a two-year programme to give corps members military training.

Making further suggestions, he reasoned that “to incentivise those who may volunteer to serve, they will have a separate certificate and medal of honour in addition to having priority for military, paramilitary and civil or public service recruitment after service.”

Mr Fayemi stated this on Tuesday in Ibadan while delivering the seventh lecture series to mark the 2021 annual birthday ceremony of Babatunde Oduyoye, the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Political Affairs.

The Nigerian Governors’ Forum chairman said there was no further evidence to prove that Nigerians were all concerned about the security situation “than the fact that security is a major item of discourse in most national gatherings.”

Stressing the precarious situation the country is in, Mr Fayemi emphasised the need for patriotic statesmen and women and “not rumour mongers, ethnic crisis entrepreneurs, provincial men of little minds who see everything from the prism of ethnic and religious conspiracy.”

“There should be an elite consensus on what is the minimum irreducible and acceptable standard of public conduct, but taking due cognisance that peace can only come on the platter of fairness and justice,” he further stressed.

Mr Fayemi urged the leaders to unite in the face of the evil merchants who have no respect for children, old age, women, clergy, or traditional authorities.

Nigerian Soldiers have reportedly arrested popular Nollywood Actor, Chinwetalu Agu in Upper Iweka area of Anambra state for putting on an outfit with colours of the Biafran Flag.

Agu’s vehicle was stopped by soldiers who wasted no time to bring him out of his bus.

In footage seen by POLITICS NIGERIA, Agu was dragged and manhandled by the Soldiers. It can be recalled that the Nigerian Government has banned the display of the Biafran Flag in any part of the country.

Last Month, Agu went viral on social media after wearing an outfit made of the Biafran Flag with many Nigerians stating on social media that ‘nothing must happen’ to the popular thespian.

A senior lecturer of the University of Benin (UNIBEN), identified simply as Dr. Bode, was captured in a video, begging for forgiveness after he allegedly r*ped a female student in his office.

The victim is a 400 level English and Literature student, while the suspect is her Project supervisor. It was gathered that the unfortunate incident occurred on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, when she had gone to his office in regards to her final year project.

It’s unclear what transpired in his office, but he was said to have r*ped her and afterwards, locked her up for hours, refusing to let her go.

According to reports, she had to call a friend and explained where she was and what had happened. It was the friend, with the help of security guards and others, that rescued her.

He was subsequently taking to the administrative building where he was questioned and allegedly admitted to committing the crime. Watch video below

Gunmen abduct nine travelers in Edo
Suspected kidnappers on Monday abducted nine persons from a luxurious bus, in Okpella, in Edo North area of the State.

The State Police Command Spokesman, SP Kontongs Bello, disclosed this in a statement Monday evening.

He disclosed that the bus was traveling from one of the states to Abuja, when it was intercepted by the hoodlums at Okpella.

The victims were however rescued in the bush by police operatives in conjunction with local vigilante members, after the police receive credible information from the public.

“Acting on credible information from members of the public that a luxurious bus belonging to a private company traveling from one of the Eastern States to Abuja, have been intercepted by group of hoodlums suspected to be kidnappers and taken to the bush, in Okpella area of Edo State, the DPO, Okpella Divisional Headquarters, CSP Kolawole Aremu, immediately swung into action by mobilizing his team from Okpella Division, Edo State Police Command and local vigilante group for immediate bush combing.

“The suspected kidnappers noticing the team of operatives in their den hurriedly abandoned the victims and escaped into the thick forest.

“The nine kidnapped victims were all rescued unhurt. They were advised to continue their journey after profiling them,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, Philip Ogbadu, has enjoined the general public to continue to support the police by providing credible information that would help in the fight against crime and criminal elements in the state.

Personnel of the New York Police Department were deployed at the Nigerian House, Kudirat Abiola Corner, Manhattan, on Friday evening after members of the Yoruba Nation and the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra protested against the President Muhammadu Buhari administration
A report by Tribune stated that the protesters shouted on anyone perceived to be a government official, giving the detachment of law enforcement officers a hard time to keep the crowd in check

They thereafter prevailed on the protesters to maintain their distance behind the cordon as they continued to express their anger at the state of the nation

An African-American man has been captured on camera confessing that he was paid to join the pro-Buhari protest in New York, United States of America.
Recall that there was a pro-Buhari protest in New York city, as the President will be addressing the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, tomorrow, 24th September, 2021.

The Buhari supporters orgnized the counter protest against the Yoruba Nation agitators – who staged a “Million-Man Freedom March” on the 14th and 15th of September opposite the United Nations Headquarters.


The Yoruba Nation agitators protest was organised by the Nigerian Indigenous Nationalities Alliance for Self-Determination (NINAS).

However, In a video shared by a US based journalist, Jackson Udeh, the African-American man openly confessed that he is not from Nigeria and he doesn’t even have a clearer picture of what exactly is happening in Nigeria. Adding that he was paid to join the protest.

Before I go I will make sure I correct some doctrines of Deeper Life- Pastor Kumuyi

Pastor W.F Kumuyi the founder of Deeper Life Bible Church has made it known that before he leaves earth he’s going to make sure he rectify some doctrines that are pulling the church down.

He said this during an ongoing revival, he said some doctrines that the church is observing is not biblical meaning they can’t be found in the Bible, but they introduced them just because they feel they are good for the church development.

He talked about the Marriage committee, he said there is no marriage committee in the Bible but they created it so that youths can have lovely marriages and that will reduce marriage failure.

He said that he will if Marriage Counselling will make the church fall then he’s ready to remove it from the church.

He added that the Women ministry is also the doing of the church and not biblical, he said the ministry was created to ensure that the women are well equipped financially, physically, in marriage and also other aspects.
He made it known that if the ministry will also make the church fall, he is ready to remove it because women in the church can learn those stuff in other places apart from the church.

A police officer has been arrested by the Edo State Police Command for killing a 25-year-old man, Moses Adam, in Benin City.

It was gathered that the police officer fired the stray bullet the killed the young man.

The tragic incident occurred at about 4: 08 pm on Friday, September 17, when the late Adam, said to be the only son of his parents, arrived Benin from Lagos to attend his sister's wedding slated for Saturday.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Kontongs Bello, who confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday, explained that the officer, who is of the anti-kidnap and cybercrime unit of the command, was trying to arrest a murder suspect, Ebuka Nwaechie, when he fired a shot to restrain the fleeing suspect.



Kontongs said that the shot, unfortunately, hit the thigh of one of the passengers in a moving vehicle, adding that the victim was rushed to the Edo Specialist Hospital where he later died.

"The bullet unfortunately hit one of the occupants of a moving vehicle identified as Moses Adam. He was rushed to the Edo Specialist Hospital where he gave up the ghost. The erring officer will go through administrative trial that will determine his culpability," the statement said.

The PPRO noted that the Commissioner of Police, Philip Ogbadu, was saddened by the incident and condoled with the family of the deceased.


He added that Ogbadu has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of criminal investigation to carry out discreet investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to him, the CP assures the public that he will not hesitate to deal with any erring and overzealous officer who acts unprofessionally in the course of his duty.

He urged the family of the victim and the public to remain calm to allow for a comprehensive investigation.

Police said Nwaechie was allegedly involved in the alleged murder of one Bright Orikose on December 24, 2020.



However, Esther, one of Adam’s elder sisters, disagreed with the account. She lamented the attempt by the police to twist the narrative.

"My brother was not killed by a stray bullet as the police claimed. He was aimed at in the second car which Ebuka was not even inside. While treating my brother, the doctor told us that he was hit by a close range bullet and that he lost so much blood before his death.You can just imagine what the police are now saying about the crime deliberately committed by their officer.” she said.

According to a report by Foundation For Investigative Journalism FIJ ,the deceased was with his friend, Kelvin Uwumunse in a vehicle while other friends were in another car when the incident happened.

They were said to have left a tailor's shop where he had gone to pick his clothes in preparation for his sister's wedding when "some police detectives on mufti violently waylaid their cars"

The report said Adam and his friends were unsure of the identity of the people contending the road with them, so they tried to make a detour, but gunshots were fired at them.

“Immediately I heard a gunshot in front of me, I reversed, but they kept shooting at my tyre,” Uwumunse said.

“Then, one of them later shot at the door beside me and the bullet hit Adam on the thigh. I drove straight to Edo Specialist Hospital. If I had known they were police officers, I would have stopped immediately they ambushed us, but the way they drove and shot sporadically made them appear to me like kidnappers.”

Adam died in the hospital after losing so much blood.

While Adam was receiving treatment at the hospital before his demise, his family’s lawyers, Emmanuel Chinalu, Uwumunse, and some others, visited Esigie Police Station to report the crime and found out their attackers were from the CID.



At the CID, they were shocked that the police officers had arrested and detained three of Adam’s friends.

"Even the officer in charge was shocked when we told him his men shot someone during an operation,” Chinalu told FIJ.

"He insisted the officers never documented firing any shot let alone hitting someone with a bullet. It was after we got to the hospital that the police believed and gave us N120,000 for the treatment.”

Adam died shortly after his police guests left the hospital on Friday evening and his remains deposited at the Stella Obasanjo Mortuary in Benin at about 2 am on Saturday.

By Saturday afternoon, there had been more revelations about the incident. FIJ found that the police officers that ambushed Adam and his friends had been trailing them without their knowledge.

Osasu Egharevva, one of the detainees, told FIJ: “The police said our other friend, Ebuka Nwaechie, who drove the car, was a murder suspect and that was why they were after us. We didn’t even know Ebuka had a case with the police until they detained and began to torture us.”

Apart from Adam, Egharevva also sustained mild injuries to his leg after a stray bullet hit him. Despite being under arrest, he said he was the one who footed the bills for his treatment at the police clinic.

"When they took me to their clinic, the doctor said I would need some things, but the police didn’t have the money. I was the one who transferred over N9,000 for my own treatment.” he said.

Upon hearing about the case on Saturday, Philip Ogbadu, the Edo State Commissioner of Police, ordered the unconditional release of two out of the three detainees, as well their two seized cars. However, Nwaechie, the actual murder suspect, remains in custody.

The Police Duty Solicitors Scheme of the Nigerian Bar Association, Benin branch, has also demanded a proper prosecution of the rogue police officers.


In a statement signed by Amechi Nwaozor, the Coordinator of PDSS, the group urged “the Police High Command, the Edo State Government, the National Human Rights Commission, and the National Assembly to ensure the proper investigation and prosecution of this matter which exposes the ill-treatments our people suffer in the hands of our security personnel”.
