According to Daily Post South Africa, a Zion Christian Church prophet who was filled with the Holy Spirit and thought the Lord wanted to use him to show His power over animals, recently challenged a pride of lions to a duel in the Kruger National Park.

Pretoria based man of God, Prophet Alec Ndiwane was with members of of his church in the Kruger National Park where they had gone sightseeing when he suddenly went into a trance and started to speak in tongues. Ahead of them were the lions busy eating their impala.

Prophet Ndiwane must have thought he was the biblical Samsom or Daniel as he opened the car door and charged towards the lions. On seeing the man running towards them, the abandoned their food and ran towards the prophet.

Ndiwane immediately came to his senses when he saw the predators. He turned and ran for his life. But before he could safely reach the confines of the car, one lion had snapped its paws on him causing serious damage to his buttocks. He was saved by the game ranger who fired shots into the air with his gun to scare the lions away.

The injuries the prophet sustained was so severe that he had to be rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.

"I don't know what came over me," Prophet Ndiwane confessed,"I thought the Lord wanted to use me to show His power over animals. Is it not we were given dominion over all creatures of the earth?" he asked.

Thank you I have the manual I've read it before even I have some videos about it. But my question is before and after that training how many times marriage had been preached in the church? It is only giving giving we preach.

That's why we are here today.
I don't know how often Christ Embassy teaches on marriage, but it was patently false to claim that you teach the word and not marriage. That's the point.

Err nothing.

I've got TONS of stuff to do. The Harris book? The one this book is meant to address? I've had it for years, haven't read it. Im sure not going to read this one. You had me interested though, that's why I went to look for the reviews to see if I'd be wasting my time.

Have you read the Harris book by the way?

As for the so called objective reviews, I saw a few. SMH.
You got tons of stuff to do, yet you can afford to patronize NL and you still have time to google reviews and paste them here verbatim grin

I find it ironical that a super time-conscious man spends more time on reviews far longer than the book

This is CEC spin to the matter. Watch the hypocritical idiocy; every story claims to be a 'leak' by a 'well connected source'
The ones painting Oyaks as a womanizer are treated as baseless gossip while the ones painting Anita as a hoe are the gospel truth

Reminds me of SCOANITES. After the building collapsed, they blamed everyone from Boko Haram to CIA for their misfortune grin grin

While such trash may be the 28th book of NT to Oyaks sycophants, the more evolved and intelligent among us can see them for what they be. What's worse, Oyaks was dumped and divorced. He has no authority to teach on marriage except how to work through a divorce

Horrible. Preaching to the choir. Only those who already agree and want to will not realize how bad the arguments are.

Too many people have probably read this book without first reading Harris (or at least, not reading him very carefully and with an open mind). I am not looking to defend atheism so much as I am trying to show some examples of precisely where Zacharias gets it wrong, so you can see how he is mistreating Harris' work. It would be better to get a different book against the atheists if that's what you are so inclined to do. This one is simply no good.

In it, he notes Harris's arguments about the wrongness of Hitler's actions, and asserts that Harris does not put forth a criterion with which to judge moral actions. He writes, "For Harris to convince us that Hitler was wrong to do what he did, he has to borrow from an objective moral framework to support his point," (Zacharias 52). Ravi Zacharias is claiming that without God, there can be no objective morality. He is also claiming that Sam Harris has simply made up his own morality, "as if morality should be self-evident to everybody, regardless of whether God exists or not," (54). He thinks that Harris "cannot explain his innate sense of right and wrong - the reality of God's law written on his heart - because there is no logical explanation for how that intuition toward morality could develop from sheer matter and chemistry" (54-5). Nowhere does Ravi Zacharias see Sam Harris state what he thinks is moral, and thus he thinks that Harris has "concocted" his moral view "in his own mind" (54).

Interestingly, though, Sam Harris directly addresses this point in Letter to a Christian Nation. Early on in the book, he writes,

Questions of morality are questions about happiness and suffering. This is why you and I do no have moral obligations toward rocks. To the degree that our actions can affect the experience of other creatures positively or negatively, questions of morality apply," (Letter cool.

So, if Ravi Zacharias is trying to argue (and he is) that Harris never explains what he thinks is moral, then he must have missed this part early in the book. But in The End of Reason, Zacharias sets up this argument:
Premise one: "Objective moral values exist only if God exists."
Premise two: "Objective moral values do exist."
Conclusion: "Therefore God exists" (Zacharias 56).

The issue with the argument for an atheist such as Harris is in premise one, which Zacharias argues for on the prior page:
Premise one: "When you assert that there is such a thing as evil, you must assume there is such as thing as good."
Premise two: "When you say there is such a thing as good, you must assume there is a moral law by which to distinguish between good and evil. There must be some standard by which to determine what is good and what is evil."
Premise three: "When you assume a moral law, you must posit a moral lawgiver - the source of the moral law" (55).

The issue with this argument lies in premise three, as we will see. But it is important to note that Zacharias thinks that "this moral lawgiver is precisely who atheists are trying to disprove" (55). He means the God of the Bible. The reason I bring Zacharias so heavily into this argument is because I believe that his views on morality are common among Christians with a literal interpretation of the Bible (it seems that atheists like Harris often must defend against such attacks). It is important to discuss what Zacharias claims because it is a real and prevalent mindset that must be philosophically combated.

Oyinprince:
Prayer at 12noon and 10pm (Local/GMT) - Fri March 11

Your greatest passion should be the spread of the Gospel to the ends of the earth. Jesus said in Matthew 24:14, "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come". Read more in today's Rhapsody or visit http://rhapsodyofrealities.org

2 Peter 1:2 - 4 says: "Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust".

For 15min at 12noon and 10pm (Local/GMT), we'll pray fervently in the spirit, with our hearts set on these verses; appropriating to ourselves, through our affirmations, God's grace, wisdom, glory, and virtue that have been made available to us in Christ. Affirm that you're walking in divine health, success and prosperity, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, you have all the resources you require for the furtherance of the gospel around the world as it pertains to you. Glory of God.
I will NEVER DIVORCE!

That's a good affirmation

asalimpo:
what of christian books? Should they be free also?

It's a dicey issue . It depends on where the ministers heart lies and his level of faith in God.

With more money ,the ministry can do more (for God).
They can also produce higher quality products.
Running a ministry on just offerings can be very hard. E.g deeper life churches are usually unappealing places to be - wooden benches, unplastered walls, old tools, poorly dressed pastors, - as such, more sophiscated people dont attend them. theyve long since been overtaken by richer churches. God is with them but they de emphasized money, they preach only the word but their lack of money is driving people away.

On the other hand, a major redeemed church will have standing a/c . You think people wont defect from poor church to more comfortable church cuz of a/c? But all those beautiful settings can't be sustained on N10 offering. I think issues like these make ministers create "products" to bring in more dough.
I'm no advocate for poverty, rather I'm opposed to merchandizing the gospel. Selling the gospel and using the proceeds to sell more gospel is counterproductive to me. What I'm looking at is the MOST optimal way of spreading the gospel. ISIS does not sell their literature because they know ANY COST will shut out some potential recruits.

Imagine if believers were told to give special offering for disseminating the gospel at cost. I mean how much does it cost to make a 3hr dvd? IMO, less than N50

Unlike Harris, Ravi is willing to take the claims of atheism to their logical conclusions. In fact, Ra vi’s own despair from atheism once brought him to the brink of personal destruction. Thus he is able to write not merely as a dispassionate observer, but rather as an impassioned champion of the spiritual truth that rescued him from a life of hopelessness and purposelessness.

If you're in the ministry, you will know that it was exactly that period Rev Anita stopped pastoring CE Docklands.

Thats why there was emphasis in the early church on believers and ministers to be men of GOOD REPORT. Let persecution be for the gospel sake only.
I find it sickening that Oyaks sycophants are ever do ready to attack Anita mercilessly, and without proof, while at the same time dismissing anything against their idol Oyaks as false

Are u kidding me? Of course nations like Panama and Brazil existed at that time. Though they were called different names then. You obviously don't know that Europeans knew of no other nations apart from Europe, some part of Asia and some part of Africa until Ferdinand Magallen famous voyage. So, to the people of Isreal it those places were unexisting while to an all knowing God, how did he get to tell those nations of his gloryhuh considering the fact that those nations never heard of Yahweh before the Europeans came around. Or did God just pick a small set of Isreslites and punished the rest of the world for not being in that small sethuh

But on the other hand, if they make it free,
how will they pay for recurrent expenditures like:
wages and salaries, building maintenance, etc.
Their expenses can be met by the normal giving. I believe messages should be disseminated at cost; post them on YouTube or on your site, and for the technologically challenged, just sell the DVDs at cost.

1. Christians are under no obligation to tithe
2. Tithing like Sunday fellowship is a tradition
3. Tithing like Sunday tradition have some positive benefits; enhances discipline in giving just as Sunday tradition enhances fellowship
4. Tithing like Sunday fellowship tradition has been abused severally with believers blackmailed into parting with their money. Some have even had dreams and visions of non-tithers in hell. Some believers think failure to attend Sunday services is a sin
