You didn't ask for reduction in electricity tariffs, which the government has some measure of control on, or food and heathcare/drugs, you're talking of data and DSTV owned by private investors. How many Nigerians have smartphones and satellite TV among the poor and vulnerable being threatened the most by the virus? |
Orubebe01:Viruses are so small that the only way to see them is via electron microscopes, which are extremely complex and expensive devices. How do you hope the traditional herbalists will be able to see the virus and test the efficacy of their potions? How would they check its effects on vital organs to ensure safety for human consumption? There's no drug in the world that directly kills the virus, most therapies seek to degrade the virus' ability to penetrate human cells and thus prevent it from manufacturing copies of itself. This requires sophisticated knowledge and medical devices to test. So how would some village babalawo with his herbacious cocktail of randomness figure out how the virus works and how to attack it? |
MansoryMX:Where's the "ravaging" then, Mr Webster's Dictionary? A few people died out of tens of millions and you term it ravaging. Maybe you should forget ravaging and look up hyperbole instead, if you weren't serious. |
GamalNasser:It's Corolla, idiot, one R. What were you saying about intelligence again, donkey? All your posts are idiotic and nonsensical. |
MansoryMX:Ravaging? Stop carelessly using words you're apparently unfamiliar with. |
GamalNasser:You're just sore i always call out your bullshit, you maniacally-stupid piece of shiit. |
GamalNasser:1. Respirators and ventilators are separate devices 2. Covid-19 is not Malaria 3. The virus didn't start in the US, and they're suffering more than anyone else Congratulations, you're licensed to be idiotic for the next 3 years. |
"if you've symptoms of fever..." Please what are symptoms of fever? This foolish loudmouth is apparently unaware that fever is not a disease or sickness by itself. Fever is THE symptom of many diseases and illnesses. When someone has fever, that's a sign of the immune system responding to some infection. Fever is not a standalone disease. |
Old stuff he copied.
|
martineverest:Since there's no clinical or scientific evidence I'll say it's anecdotal. Besides keeping a heathy lifestyle and avoiding alcohol, drugs and smoke, there's no scientific evidence that the immune system can be "boosted". The reason is that it's a system, not a single organ, and thus requires a definite balance of so many variables. There's no harm people taking things they believe can help their health, so long as such substances are not detrimental, so I'm not discouraging people from their beliefs. But I tend to rely on empirical scientific evidence from credible investigators. Stay safe. |
martineverest:Based on which clinical study? |
gaby:And bleaching creams |
CXLVII:Or he's shooting flak to distract his gullible followers from his divine impotence after decades of claiming to heal all diseases. Also the lack of tithe-paying new membership must hurt his butt. Big shame to all the con artists with their fake miracles |
martineverest:I wouldn't say they cured it with Malaria drugs. More likely the drugs did nothing and they recovered same as most other people recover naturally. |
martineverest:And that's excluding the many million asymptomatic patients who got infected and recovered without even knowing. |
jidamsel43:For the millionth time Covid-19 is not an automatic death sentence. Lots of people recover, infact the great majority of infected people have only mild symptoms, while a small percentage develops severe or critical conditions. Of the latter, only a small percentage go on to die. However, the Infection Fatality Rate (IFR) and Case Fatality Rate (CFR) vary by country based on the total confirmed cases. Italy and China have different IFR and CFR. But still, Covid-19 is far less fatal than the original SARS. All I'm saying is that a lot of people with mild symptoms, which are most of confirmed cases, do go on to naturally recover. Mild symptoms recover in an average of 2 weeks, while severe cases can last up to 6 weeks. |
ideology:99 recovered 2 claimed to be "cured" directly by the herb 7 new cases |
mansakhalifa:Lols That's how one woman and her husband in the US injested chloroquine phosphate and fell ill with the husband eventually dying. |
Minemrys:Forget about WHO for a moment since you've already formed an opinion about them. What about the fact that scientists from Madagascar itself have debunked the tonic? The president of Madagascar, who's really pushing for his remedy, said only 2 people have been cured with the herb. That's absolutely inadequate to qualify as proven efficacy or valid clinical trial. Their concoction is made from the Artemisia plant, and artemisin is a treatment for Malaria. Are Malaria and Covid-19 the same? The country has an officially-claimed case of 149 infected people, and given that covid19 is not an automatic death sentence, the fact that no death has been recorded yet does not mean anything. They should treat the 149 cases to full recovery yet before they make noise about their tonic. |
mansakhalifa:You dey mind them? These are the same people who drank and bathed with salt water during Ebola. |
SirWarlock:Seriously, these people are the ones perpetuating the impression the world has of rampant ignorant negros all over Africa. |
Saintinoo:This is not about whites vs black, it's about common sense. The fact that a few crazed African countries who think primitively bought a few crates of that tepid moonshine does not impress me, because if it was a potent cure the whole world would flock to buy it. Since you roped the AU into your weak conspiracy theory i just know you're beyond redemption. Good luck with your delusions |
Saintinoo:First, typing also several times is an old joke. Perhaps you can help yourself by trawling around the internet outside your comfort zone of blatant ignorance. Second, i gave you a credible link to a BBC story about Madagascar's own health scientists disputing their mad president about the fake herbal concoction you're enamored with Third, the BBC has no agenda towards any viable cure coming from Africa. If that bottled moonshine was credible they'll want some for their own embattled home country. Sometimes you need to step outside your brain to think, especially when that brain is foggy from cognitive bias. Any cure for coronavirus-2 will most certainly NOT come from Africa. |
Chosen1984:Gosh, where do you people come from? You just quote some random Bible verse and then proceed to recommend people "quizz" mint leaf and drink it hot! What's next, salted goats' piss? |
Saintinoo:You don't want me to believe a credible, professional, globally revered news source, but you want me to believe you. Also, your analogy is downright stupid. Also also, rational people don't type in all caps. Also also also, your allegation that the BBC, whose native country suffered the worst death rates in all of Europe, is defending big pharma, who've no vaccines or potent drugs yet, is frankly silly. If the bottled snake oil from Madagascar works (something the country's own scientists say is nonsense) you think Madagascar won't be the richest country in the world right now? |
seanjy4konji:Nope |
goldensoul55:"The World Health Organization (WHO) says there is no proof of a cure for Covid-19 after Madagascar's president launched a herbal coronavirus "cure". The country's national medical academy (Anamem) has also cast doubt on the efficacy of Andry Rajoelina's touted prevention and remedy. It said it had the potential to damage people's health as its "scientific evidence had not been established". www.bbc.com/news/amp/world-africa-52374250 |
You said from around the world. With the exception of one or two pics they're all from the US by the fringe crowd of Trump voters. |
donbachi:China is using Jack Ma as a bridge to improve its relationship with major African countries. |
Dumb idiots spreading the virus all over. |
