PoliticsBiafrans Are Playing The Music And The Government And Their "Pythons Are Dancing by wanimo(op): 10:07am On Sep 12, 2017
I want to congratulate and encourage every body who has genuinely contributed in the Biafra movement, IPOB, MASSOB, Facebook supporters, Intellectual writers, and all those who has stood solidly behind us all these while in our quest for freedom. That we have forced the Nigerian government to make the last mistake of desperation by sending troupes and military invasion arsenals to Biafra land is a sign that we have boxed them into a very precarious corner.

About 7 months ago, I predicted that soon the last option of the Nigerian government to stop the restoration of Biafra will be a military option and that it too shall fail. Today, that prediction is coming through. The first option was to arrest Nnamdi Kanu, and put in a confusion among his followers, that failed. The second option was to clamp down on agitators with state security agencies by killing, abducting and intimidation but they failed in that strategy as well.

The next option was to infiltrate and cause a confusion and division. They created TRIPOB, REIPOB etc but no one bought into their garbage, thus it became another exercise in futility. Their next option was to bribe Nnamdi Kanu and pay him off to drop the agitation while he was in prison but the young man rejected their offers and chose to hold on to the dreams of helping his people to be free.

The next strategy was the media blackmail of our agitation. They doled out billions of Naira to many of the already compromised Nigerian media houses. However they failed to understand that the world has gone digital and our millions of voices were louder than all the news papers and tv stations combined. They even attempted to use Mark Zukerberg to curb our activities on the internet by giving him billions to take down the Radio Biafra London Facebook page. However, that very Facebook page has the highest number of people worldwide on the Facebook platform hence is untouchable.

They became desperate and were lost in confusion. They decided to play the card of genocide, property and investment blackmail against the Igbos. They used the Arewa Youths to issue us with a quit notice and started circulating hate songs against us. This move backfired greatly as every International organization condemned it in strong terms hence they foolishly backtracked on the quit notice.

The last option available to them right now is the military invasion of igbo land and the various attempts to drag us into an armed struggle so that they would have reasons to unleash destruction on our region and then turn around to blame it on the agitators and IPOB. This shall fail too as we shall snub every provocation to carry arms and start a war. We have at every turn shown that we are brave and fearless even in the face of death yet we have refused to go to war. We are civilized and they are barbarians. We shall never condescend as low as going to war with them.

I want to urge every Biafran to remain committed , focused, determined and resolute in our struggle. We must not dance to their tunes of violence and an armed conflict. We are smarter than them and more intelligent than they are. We must remain a million steps ahead of them and we must ensure that we dictate the tunes. We are playing the music and their "Pythons" are "Dancing".

I want to assure you that all those military arsenals they brought to Biafra land shall eventually become part of our pioneer army after we vote to exit via a Referendum. Soon they shall call us for a dialogue and negotiations and all we shall have for them is "REFERENDUM". We are Biafrans.

This invasion is a sign of desperation. The Nigerian government knows that they have already lost the battle before it even started hence they want to drag the entire region into a war. However, we are 1 million steps ahead of the Dullard and his unintelligent lieutenants. We shall never back down until is restored. Biafra is here.

PoliticsRe: The Twisted Logic Of IPOB Sympathizers by wanimo: 10:01am On Aug 29, 2017
maclatunji:
I have taken time to engage the IPOB-inspired Biafran agitators whose propaganda is often also expressed by some Igbo contributors to radio phone-in programmes and there is a trend.

They are quick to list their perceived 'injustices' against Igbos and the Southeast as justification for their agitation. Meanwhile, they fail to realize that their agitation is likely to make the condition of the people they claim to be fighting for worse.

Let us say Nnamdi Kanu was not initially caught when he sneaked into Nigeria and was successful with his agenda to raise agitation in the Southeast. Depending on how successful he would have been, hundreds to thousands of people would have died in the region and there still would be no Biafra. Don't forget, this is not 1967 where a regional system exists and neither are we having military rule where some Southeastern officer can seek to commandeer troops in a secession bid. Any attempt to raise the issue of secession is just a call for suffering on the people of the Southeast. Whatever suffering you might think you are experiencing now will be like paradise to a conflict situation.

I am sure some responder would quickly type- 'we want a referendum like the United Kingdom held for Scotland.' My reaction- stop engaging in dubious analysis and postulations.

The legal framework and political structure of the United Kingdom with its constituent nations is not the same as Nigeria. The Nigerian constitution does not give any window for separation or secession including a referendum. Even insisting on one will still in all likelihood lead to trouble.

So, instigating trouble and getting people in harm's way is not going to help the Southeast and no foreign country will do anything tangible about it too. Their interests are firmly with Nigeria not a rag-tag bunch of secessionist agitators too closely aligned to a discredited Jonathan administration.

Harsh? Well, you need a reality check before you get people killed for nothing.
engaging you and your likes is just like engaging Abubakar Shekau in a debate on why he must stop bombing killing and injuring people in the name of Allah. You are nothing but a dickhead

PoliticsThe North Will Be Making The Greatest Mistake If They Declared A War On Igbos by wanimo(op): 10:23am On Aug 15, 2017
The biggest mistake the northerners will make is to pick up a fight with Biafrans in this 2017. It would be an error if they assume that the Nigeria of 1967 is the same with the Nigeria of 2017. As at today, the lies and deceit which Nigeria has been dwelling on has been laid bare, thanks to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. These northerners have been beating drums of war against igbos without thinking about the consequences of such an action.

The Nigerian civil war of 1967 was a war of a country divided into 2. If there should be another war today, it's going to be much more complicated. The middle beltans, the Yorubas, the Southern Riverine ethnic nationalities would never again fight under a united umbrella called Nigeria. The slightest eruption of violence will see the balkanization of Nigerian into not less than 4 entities.

In the recent past, people of many ethnic groups aside those of the core north have come to identify with Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB, pledging their support. Many others have openly denounced their alliances with the north should Nigeria ever be faced with disintegration.

The core northerners who are beating these drums of war, are basking on the belief that they are in control of all the armed apparatuses of Nigeria at the moment. They feel that they have the capacity to unleash violence and destruction on any dissenting voices in the country. However, it's obvious that they are in for a lot of surprises. They shall witness an unprecedented level of desertion, defection and sabotage this time around. The table shall turn should they decide to take the route of violence and destruction.

In an event of war, igbos would surely band together and fight for survival, discarding all their differences. In as much as we expect to have a few saboteurs in our midst, we shall overcome through a unified majority as war is no respecter of class, status, wealth or poverty. The worst that would happen is that many rich people will flee with their families and this shall not be peculiar to igbo land alone. All the regions and ethnic groups shall experience a similar fate.

Many others ethnic nationalities would seize the opportunity to break free from this bondage of a country called Nigeria. The core north as they are right now, without the support of the middle belt and the Yorubas do not have the capacity to engage Biafrans in a war. The support Nigeria enjoyed from her European colonial masters in 1967, shall surely be missed this time around.

The north shall be worse of as their economy shall crash in a matter of months. They shall automatically become landlocked while battling terrorism and insurgency in a time of warfare. Their huge population of uneducated youths shall surely rise against their elites. Within a period less than 2 years, the north would only be comparable to Somali or Afghanistan. The greed and arrogance of these northern elites shall be their greatest undoing.

However, all these are clearly avoidable. The Nigerian state must tow the lane of honor and listen to the voice of reason. Conduct a referendum or call all groups together and renegotiate the unity of Nigeria. It's obvious that we Biafrans are not calling for a war. We have maintained a very peaceful disposition in our expression of our inalienable rights to self determination.

We want a referendum and not war, and we shall not stop our agitation until our demands for a referendum are met. We are Biafrans.

Joe Igbokwe wrote

NNAMDI KANU CALLED ME A HUNGRY SLAVE RESIDING IN LAGOS AND I HAVE FOUND THE NEED TO TELL MY STORY AGAIN FOR RECORD PURPOSES. I WANT NNAMDI TO TELL HIS OWN STORY TOO. PLEASE READ THIS:

In 1971, after my primary school education, poverty drove me to Lagos to find something to do to help my poor mother and siblings. Civil War devastated my father’s thriving business in Onitsha and we all suffered from 1966 to 1970 when the war ended.

With four wives and 34 children, my parents could not cope any more. My brothers and sisters dropped out of school to learn a trade. Because I was a little ‘sharp’ in school, my father encouraged me to finish primary school. It is needless here to recall how I and few of my siblings survived to finish our primary education. Consequently when my mates were taking Common Entrance Examination, I did not because there was no need to do so. No money, no three square meals a day, no good clothing, just nothing.

My mother encouraged me to travel with friends to Lagos. We landed at Sawmill Ebute Metta where I worked as a sawdust carrier at seven Shilling, six Pence a day. My job was to pack sawdust from the Machines to the Lagoon from 7am to 5 pm daily. I did this for nearly two years and later I became a danfo conductor plying Idioro/Ajegunle axis. From there I joined my brother in a supermarket business at Ijesha Road, Surulere. I did this until I returned home during Christmas in December 1973. I came home to meet my friends I was beating academically in school trying to make me feel and look inferior. Again I also noticed while in Lagos that if I fail to go to school, I may end up doing menial jobs meant for illiterates till the end of age. I decided to go back to school to add values to my life. But where are the school fees? There was nothing. How I managed to get the first school fee to start and what happened thereafter will take a book to do the narrative.

In 1979 I left Okongwu Memorial Grammar School Nnewi with Division One and was the school Head Boy. I taught in the same school as an Auxiliary Teacher from 1979 – 1980. In 1980 I got admission to read Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nigeria Nsukka and graduated in 1985. I did my Youth Service in Ogun State and thereafter I returned to Lagos in 1986 to begin a journey to where I am today. I walked the streets of Lagos from 1986 – 1988 until the then military government headed by Gen Ibrahim Babangida set up the National Directorate of Employment, (NDE) to encourage graduates to start their own businesses. I got a loan of N27,500, using my NYSC discharge Certificate and my Degree Certificate as collateral at 9% interest rate. I set up a Restaurant Business in Western Avenue, Lagos and hit an instant success. While doing this business, I spread my nets also to the auto spare parts market in Lawanson, Surulere where my brother thrives as a very successful importer. I opened a shop there and got a boy to take charge of the business. From there, I entered into Auto dealership in Western Avenue Surulere. I paid back that loan in full and collected back my certificates.

In 1995, I wrote my first book, Igbos: 25 Years After Biafra. I also established National Vision Newspapers in 1997. In 1999, I wrote my second book: Heroes of Democracy. In 2004 I co-authored 2007: The IBB Option with my good friend, Peter Claver Oparah. One thing led to another. I became an opinion molder, a public commentator, political analyst, writer and an advocate of the peoples’ cause. I bought my first car in 1990 and became a millionaire in 1995 after launching of my first book.

In 2006, the then Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, made me the pioneer General Manager of the Lagos State Infrastructure & Regulatory Agency (LASIMRA) and I was there for almost 10 years. I served Asiwaju’s government for the remainder of his days as Lagos Governor. I served His Excellency Governor Babatunde Fashola for 8years. In September 2015, His Excellency Governor Akinwunmi Ambode moved me to Wharf Landing Fees Collecting Authority Apapa as Chairman. I became the Publicity Secretary AC, ACN, and APC since late 2006 till date. By the grace of God I have been the Chairman of Conference of APC Publicity Secretaries (CAPS) in Nigeria since 2014.

These positions and exploits have put me in the limelight in Lagos and Nigeria since the early 90s, and God has been kind to me. These offices have opened the doors of the rich and poor to me. They have opened the inner ways, byways, subways, expressways and highways to the corridors of power in Nigeria. I have been connected to the pace setters, policy makers, the movers and shakers of blue chip companies, newsmakers and the powers that be in Lagos. The magic of Lagos, the beauty of Lagos, the dynamics of Lagos, the glory of Lagos, the momentum of Lagos, the capacity, capability and the strength of Lagos touched me in no uncertain terms since 1986 (32years ago) till date…..and still counting.

My sojourn in Lagos for 32 years has also opened my eyes as a historian as to what Lagos has done for my people from South East. Today as I write this Igbo do not have a quarter of what they have in Lagos in the South East in terms of investments. As I write this book, Igbo are the second most populous ethnic group in Lagos. Today, Igbo exert tremendous influence and capacity in Lagos and its success story. Few years back two prominent sons of Nnewi told me in confidence that they did not know they have been wasting their time in Nnewi until they came to Lagos. They said Lagos opened doors for limitless opportunities and endless possibilities. I have seen people come from other parts of Nigeria to hit gold mine in Lagos.

I got married in 1990 and all my five kids are all Lagosians and so are millions of Igbo kids born in Lagos. They have lived most of their lives in Lagos, schooled in Lagos, worked in Lagos, made friends in Lagos and have keyed to the Lagos success story. They know any other place except Lagos. Lagos is their home. This is not limited to Igbo alone but all other ethnic groups and of course Yoruba from outside Lagos. Lagos is a melting pot, a mega city, a cosmopolitan beehive. Lagos controls the heartbeat of Nigeria, its wealth, its influence and its strategic socio-economic and political hub. Lagos changed my thinking and original thoughts, Lagos emboldened me, Lagos motivated me, Lagos challenged me and Lagos made me. I can say no less. This is the story of Lagos, my Lagos. It is still unraveling, not for me alone but millions of other Nigerians, to the glory of God."
Nnamdi Kanu called him a slave and he ended up reciting how many masters he has served in Lagos State. For the past 18 years, your servitude has been unbridled.

You served Tinubu for 8 years and today Tinubu is a national leader of a party. You went ahead to serve Fashola who also served Tinubu with you. That's another 8 years of servitude while others are progressing. Today Fashola is a minister and you are still serving Ambode.... Probably another 8 years of servitude. FG orders immediate separation of CRK, IRK in new curriculum

The Federal Government on Thursday bowed to pressure and directed the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC) to separate the Christian Religious Knowledge and Islamic Religious Knowledge subjects in the basic education curriculum.

The grouping of IRK and CRK under the Civil Education in the new curriculum by the NERDC had generated controversy in the last few months with religious leaders calling for their separate teaching.

Minister of Education, Adamu Adamu, gave the directive at a meeting of Ministers of Education with education stakeholders from six geo-political zones and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja on Thursday.

The meeting, which was attended by Commissioners for Education from various States of the Federation, was part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen the partnership within the three tiers of government in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals 4 (SDG4).

Adamu, who was represented by Minister of State for Education, Anthony Anwukah, said the directive to separate the subjects became necessary because of the various complaints by Nigerians, especially the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) that has been vociferous about the issue.

He explained that the collapse of the two subjects was done by former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration to reduce the number of subjects offered by pupils and students in schools.

The minister said: “There is this controversy over the merger of CRK and IRK in the school curriculum. There were complaints by parents that children were overloaded with so many subjects and the recommendation then was to merge one or two subjects. Unfortunately, water and oil were merged together and it is not working. “So, to save ourselves the agony, the two subjects should be separated. We push that to the NERDC,”

Adamu, in his address, reiterated the commitment of the Federal Government to revamping the education sector and appealed to state governments as well as relevant stakeholders to support the federal government effort.

He also expressed the commitment of the government towards achieving the SDG4 by 2030 in line with the global timeline. The minister said Nigeria has selected the Goal 4 of the SDGs, which emphasizes inclusive and quality education for all and promotion of lifelong learning, for implementation in view of the importance of education as a fulcrum to national development.

He said the federal government was aware that in the journey towards achieving the Education 2030 Agenda, key issues including the phenomenon of out-of-school children, insecurity in and around the schools and infrastructure decay must be addressed.

The minister said there was also the need to have credible and reliable data, and how to address the challenge of poor teacher quality as well as teacher gaps, low carrying capacity in tertiary institutions, and poor learning outcomes.

“We recognize that the task of revamping the education sector is challenging, the ministry of education cannot do it alone. Our task is to coordinate national efforts to meet our national goals and objectives.

“It is our believe that with good planning, appropriate investment of resources, transparency, due process, effective collaboration and coordination of inputs and activities of government and that of all stakeholders, we will realize our vision of providing quality education to build and sustain adequate human capital for national development,” the minister added.
