Revealing the ordeal via his Instagram story, the singer said he was arrested because a show promoter, Brave T.Tey, allegedly defrauded people using his name.
The ‘Ozana’ crooner wrote: “Accumulatively collected over 10 million naira from different people! They came to arrest me for money I had no idea about because of this @brave_t.tey. Oloshi oloriburuku! Naso people dey enter wahala wey no be their own oo.”
Sharing a picture of the show promoter in another post, Hotkid wrote: “Wanted! He is a thief! I’m giving you 24 hours to pay up the lady and everyone else you collected money from using my name, [or] else you’d hate yourself.”
Ayomitemedia: Singer Esegine Allen, popularly known as Orezi, has lamented a fire that razed his home in the Lekki area of Lagos State.
Orezi shared photos and video of his burnt residence on his Instagram story on Tuesday.
He wrote, "Last night was really hectic. Still trying to figure out and wrap my head around all that happened.
"I'm sitting here asking my self why me. God is indeed merciful. Can't thank God enough.
"I was as a meeting in Lekki county last night around around 11.48pm when I got a call from my neighbor, Bobrisky, that my house is on fire. I initially thought this was a joke.

Habeeb Olalomi Oyegbile, also known as Portable or Dr. Zeh, a Nigerian artist, record label owner, rapper, and songwriter, has issued a new threat to Nollywood actor Charles Okocha, as he was spotted showing his talents in a boxing stadium.
Portable’s latest warning comes after suspicions of a rip-off by the actor.
Gistlover previously released a report detailing Portable’s accusation that Charles Okocha duped her out of 20 million naira, a claim the actor has disputed.
The actor underlined in his statement that he had no business dealings with Portable. He stated that the artist sought him for friendship and that he was later asked to an event where he was also given money.
Despite Charles Okocha’s clarification, Portable continues to lash out.
In a recent video from a boxing arena, Portable asserts his capability to defeat anyone, intermittently mentioning Charles Okocha’s name.

Revealing his ordeal via his Instagram story, Orezi said the incident happened around 11:48 p.m. on Monday.

A 25-year-old security guard, identified simply as Solomon, has lost his life after being stabbed to death at Langbasa in the Eti-Osa Local Government Area of Lagos State.
PUNCH Metro learnt that the incident occurred on Sunday evening.
It was gathered that the deceased left his duty post and stepped out to discuss with some friends on the street where he lived.
The discussion had barely lasted close to an hour when an argument broke out between him and one 20-year-old Muhammed.
The argument later degenerated into a fight between the two. Agitated by the development, Muhammed was said to have left the spot, headed for a sharp object and returned to stab Solomon in the chest.
A resident in the area who craved anonymity due to the sensitive nature of the incident said the attack on Solomon left him bleeding.
He said, “Solomon and Muhammed were both friends. While Solomon was a security guard, Muhammed is an errand boy living in the next compound where Solomon carried out his duty. We were told that the discussion was not the first of its kind. They often discussed and argued and later resolved the matter within themselves. But the moment they started to argue that evening, it appeared usual and no one knew it would get to that level.
“When Muhammed went to pick up the sharp object, Solomon did not take him seriously until he moved closer and stabbed him in the chest. Solomon fell immediately and started bleeding. The moment some of the friends present at the spot saw what happened, they took to their heels.”
The resident further disclosed that the late Solomon after bleeding for a while on the spot later became unconscious. He added that he was later rushed to the hospital.
He said, “It took a while before Solomon was taken to the hospital because most of them had run away, including Muhammed who stabbed him. It took the intervention of some Good Samaritans who rushed to the scene and alerted Solomon’s employer before he was rushed to the hospital. On getting there, the doctors attended to him and later confirmed him Dead on Arrival.”
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.
He said, “Yes, it happened. The suspect has been arrested and taken into custody. The corpse has been deposited in the hospital mortuary while an investigation is ongoing.”
Ekalerdehan: The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Lagos Zonal Command, has arraigned a couple, Oriyomi Idowu and Ruth Idowu, before Justice Mojisola Dada of the Special Offences Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos.
They were arraigned on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, on 20 counts bordering on obtaining money by false pretences, money laundering, stealing, retention of stolen property, and forgery to the tune of N2.7bn,
According to the commission, the suspects were arraigned alongside Food Commodity Processing Enterprise, Bonway Food Processing Company Limited, Samee Idowu Company Limited and Farmex Integrated Companies Limited, which all belong to Ruth Idowu.
One of the counts reads, “Ruth Sameeha Idowu, aka Loiry Ventures, Oriyomi Kabeer Idowu, aka Yocli Ventures, Food Commodity Processing Enterprise, Bonway Food Processing Company Ltd, Samee Idowu Company Limited, Farmex Integrated Companies Limited, sometime in 2023 in Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable court, converted the sum of N10,000,000 to purchase a GLK Benz, purchase sum derived from converting the sum of N500,000,000 belonging to Creditpro Business Support Services with the aim of disguising the illegal origin of the funds.”
The defendants pleaded “not guilty” to the charges when they were read to them.
In view of their pleas, prosecution counsel, Bilikisu Buhari, prayed the court for a trial date and the remand of the defendants at a Correctional Facility.
Counsel for the first defendant, G. Onwubuya, informed the court of the bail application of his client, which had yet to be served on the prosecution.
He prayed the court to remand the defendants in the EFCC custody and also sought a short adjournment for the hearing and determination of the bail application.
The Judge held that there was no bail application before the court for the second defendant, whose counsel, J.J. Ogunyemi, had yet to file.
Consequently, Justice Dada adjourned the matter till December 15, 2023 and ordered that the defendants be remanded at the Correctional Centre “pending hearing and determination of their bail applications

WannaHowzit: Social media followers of a former Durban Youth Radio presenter Andy Kerr have expressed their disbelief over his arrest for the death of his mother last week.
Kerr appeared at the Verulam Magistrate’s Court on Monday and remains in custody.
He and his mom, Dawn Millar Kerr lived in a communal housing room in Hazelmere and neighbours became worried when the 72-year old woman seemed to have disappeared.
Following a tip-off by his neighbours, paramedics from the security company Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) entered the room.
They apparently found her decomposing body on a bed and Kerr apparently told them that she had died of natural causes.
Residents told RUSA that Kerr did not inform anyone of his mother’s death and that he allegedly stayed with her body for three nights.
It’s believed that he provided differing accounts of what happened to those who were first on the scene.
A close friend of Kerr's who did not want to be named said that he had recently mentioned that his mother was ill.
“I did not ask anything further even when he started losing weight drastically.”
The friend said it was unimaginable that Kerr could’ve been responsible for his mom’s death.
“I did not want to believe it because he had recently found spirituality,” the friend said.
He said he had met Kerr through social media and they messaged each other on current affairs topics because they were both into media.
“He was very welcoming towards me and he was the same to everyone else because we have the same social circle. Everyone loves him that is why people are so shocked on Facebook and TikTok about the news.”
The friend said that Kerr often posted about his mom on social media but was also known for keeping his problems to himself.
In a statement published on RUSA's Facebook page, it says that Kerr told those who arrived there first that she had died of natural causes.
He then provided differing accounts of what happened and when questioned said that she was visiting him for two weeks but actually lived in a home at South Beach in Durban that specialises in frail care.
KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said that the circumstances that led to her death formed part of a police investigation.
Spokesman for the provincial department of social development Mhlaba Memela said they were concerned about the level of abuse and atrocities faced by the elderly.
Memela emphasised that everyone had a responsibility to protect the aged and that they should be treated with respect, proper care and be safe.
Kerr is expected to appear in court for a bail hearing on Monday.
National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Natasha Ramkisson-Kara confirmed that Kerr had been charged with murder.
