Nollywood actress, Iyabo Ojo, has made fresh allegations against embattled singer, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley.

According to her, the Marlian Music boss sprinkled illicit substances in her children’s food and drink when they visited his house.

The thespian said she had eyewitnesses.

Ojo, who is one of the celebrities demanding justice for Mohbad, who died after he was allegedly bullied by Naira Marley and his associate, Sam Larry, said she decided not to support the Marlian Music boss because of what he did to her children.

Speaking in a video making the rounds on social media, Ojo said, “Is it that same Naira Marley that I was thinking he is a sensible person? Even my children go to his house and he would be giving them drugs to take. He put it in their food and drink. Is it that kind of person you want me to support?

“The Naira Marley and Sam Larry that you’re supporting have plenty cases to answer. When my children go to his house, he spiced their drink with drugs, which two or three people have testified that they were there.”

New research suggests more immigrants to Canada have chosen to leave in recent years, a threat to a country that relies on immigration to drive population and economic growth.

The rate of immigrants leaving the country, or onward migration, has been steadily increasing since the 1980s and is rising among recent cohorts, suggesting newcomers “may not be seeing the benefits of moving to Canada,” according to a study on immigrant retention by the Institute for Canadian Citizenship and the Conference Board of Canada.

The report, published Tuesday, underscored the risks of Canada failing to meet expectations of newcomers, who are facing worsening housing affordability, a strained health-care system and underemployment, among other issues.

It also highlighted how disillusionment among immigrants can slow down progress even in a country that consistently sets fresh records for population gains.

“It’s a reflection on our broader society and more intractable failings that we have. If immigrants are saying ‘no, thanks’ and moving on, that’s a real existential threat to Canada’s prosperity,” Daniel Bernhard, chief executive officer of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, a pro-immigration advocacy group, said in an interview.

“We need to wake up and recognize that if we don’t deliver, people will leave. And if they leave, we’re in trouble.”

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government has been using immigration to rapidly add more workers to stave off economic decline from an aging populace.

But record population growth in recent years has led to growing criticism that its policies have exacerbated existing housing shortages and added more pressure on infrastructure and services like health care.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT Nyesom Wike has vowed not to back down in the ongoing power tussle with Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

.ng recalls that Fubara who fell out with Wike, his predecessor, is being impeached by the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Speaker of the Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, who is an ally of Wike, and some other members of the House, had commenced impeachment proceedings against the governor.

Wike’s allies had suspended the Majority Leader of the House, Ehie Edison, who is believed to be Fubara’s loyalist.

Speaking after the governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the party’s National Working Committee, NWC, met over the crisis in Abuja on Tuesday, Wike insisted that the fight would continue even if heaven falls.

Wike said, “You know I will not agree. If heaven will come down, let heaven come down so that everybody will be at rest.

“Anybody who knows me knows too well: what I’ll never take is threat. You know I will not agree. If heaven will come down, let heaven come down so that everybody will be at rest.

“Let’s do things right. He said they should bring N20 billion every month; that’s politics. But nobody said this when I was fighting. If you like, accuse me.”

This is coming despite reports that President Bola Tinubu has resolved the crisis.

The planned impeachment has caused chaos in the state as party supporters have continued to stage protests in Port-Harcourt, the capital city.
