It's just very sad that a Nigerian can say "Your protest". I pray you never find yourself at the mercy of the NPF in the middle night on a lonely stretch of highway.

Lets be guided. The thugs are politician funded. Let's not pretend we don't know this, they come out every election year.

1. Eng. is a good field to bring into Canada as the locals hardly go into those study intensive courses. The time taken to find a job after you're done school will depend on your luck and willingness to move across the country. The Job market is also unpredictable right now with all that's happening.

2. I would suggest only one of you does school at a time so the other person can work to support. That's just a personal opinion, you can both school and work at the same time, it might put a lot of strain on your relationship though.

3. See above links. That said, bigger cities have more opportunities for cash only hustles. the flip side is you might find yourself working 3 jobs just to make rent. smaller\cheaper cities have less hustle opportunities but you don't have to sell an organ to afford rent.

4. They don't really care as long as you show that you have enough funds to support yourselves. The country is currently looking to attract young couples to settle down and have Children over here. Some Express entry streams will actually give more points if you have a spouse.

Qualcoms:
Good evening great people. Please, kindly assist my knowledge with ur opinion/idea about any or all of these questions

1. A graduate of Elect Elect Engineering 2,1 (Telecommunication Option but flexible to other options for job sake) what Masters Programme will be good to take to secure at least a good job to earn a living for self and fiancée

2. Is it advisable to have a dependent fiancée join someone during the Masters Programme or both secure admission and move?

3. What state or location will be better to look at for a newcomer, considering self n fiance to school and settle down?

4. If we both secure admission, can the Visa Officer knows that same surnames are migration as couples and feel they may not want to return??

Please, I anticipate your response. Thank you guys ....God bless you all

It depends on which Province you intend to move to. There is currently a high demand for IT professionals in the big cities. There are also opportunities for theatre as there is a growing Art industry. You'll for sure find a job faster with IT but the right Drama\Art school could also give you a connect right after graduation.
butterfly55:
Please advice, as a bachelors degree holder in Theatre Arts, what type of masters program should I apply for in Canada?

Or should I apply for a post graduate diploma in IT courses?

Please advice anyone

By Resident Permit do you mean TRP or PR? International fees apply until PR

Good day, i am new on this page, please i would like to ask. what happens if my spouse goes to canada on a student visa with a 2 year program and we get our resident permit on his 3rd semester. does he still pay the international student fees.
Travel / Re: Masters Degree In Canada Or NYSC Program? by wegga(m): 6:13pm On Jun 15, 2017
do both, you can always leave the nysc program halfway if you get the admission. They are not mutually exclusive.

This image is a profound reflection of one of Nigeria's biggest problems. Take the average age of the foreign delegation and compare it to the average age of the pot-bellied elders in our delegation. Please what are all those old men doing at a nuclear energy summit? I can bet only one or two of them know what half-life means.

You are absolutely wrong, YOUWIN is a Federal government initiative with partnership from DFID, EDC, World Bank and some commercial Banks. Please say what you know, the present government killed YOUWIN, youwin 4 has already been launched before APC came to power.

Would uploading the the sheets of paper with the original operational framework of the project help? And my discussions are independent of partisan affiliations. I do not really care for either PDP or the current ones; not my cup of tea.
TV/Movies / Re: Korean Movies Chatroom by wegga(m): 9:12pm On Mar 25, 2016
Has anyone taken the time to really look at the surroundings of most of the dramas? some of the sets/streets/houses look like they could be from Naija. Watching their T.V shoes, you will see thoroughfares that could be one of the markets in Jos or Kaduna (exempting the dirt ofcourse).
Politics / Re: 'GEJ Made Mistakes But God Knows He Tried' - Reno Omokri by wegga(m): 9:07pm On Mar 25, 2016
There seems to be a misconception. YOUWIN was NOT a GEJ initiative. It was a program started by a group of well to do entrepreneurs who wanted to give back to the youths in some way. Unfortunately it got politicized by the govt that was looking for anything that would increase its credibility at the time. This ultimately led to its demise.

It's unfortunate that people don't understand what it means to be the leader of a nation. No such thing exists as saying a Leader 'meant well'. Going by this train of thought, Hitler was also a stand up guy; he 'meant well' for the Nazis.

We need to break out of the mould of mediocrity, Nigeria has no use for and will never have a use for a leader that 'meant well'. I am not a supporter of our over-aged president, however i still feel it is better to have a govt that has made as much noise as this govt has in it's less than one year in office than to have a govt that comes up with ridiculous faux pas weekly.

It is impossible to not notice that there is now a decisive hand at the helm of affairs and not one that just goes wherever the wind blows him. I agree though, PMB is as insensitive as they come; but what did we expect? we voted in a retired Daura general as president! it is my fervent hope that in 2019 or 2023 we will final be given a chance to vote in a president that knows what he's about while also sympathizing with the groans of his citizens (and is below sixty, and has never been Head of state before, and is not terminally ill).

And so it's all good and fine that GEJ 'meant well', but that is not the stuff leaders are made of.

Ahhh, zombite how na? Posterity u mean?
Please has ur Lord n saviour (Buhari) impressed u?

Oh yea he is human n will definitely make mistakes,
But ur Disaster of a Daura president isn't any better, n as such can't be compared to Jonathan's shoes,
he is more clueless than a lost sheep, n highly insensitive, in fact, he is a predicament.
U know y am happy? The people who criticized him the most, n made d country ungovernable r the ones reaping now, karma isn't just a bi.tch but a Biatch, save ur disappointed expressions for Buhari, cos he will fail u more than u think Jonathan did.

Politics / Re: Nigerians React To President Buhari Tweet After The Attack In Belgium Yesterday by wegga(m): 11:22am On Mar 23, 2016
Not to say PMB is by any means a saint, however i would like to point out that if the handle had tweeted about the Agatu tragedy, the same Nigerians would come out on the same social media and condemn him for only paying lip service to the problem instead of solving it.

Looking back at our Governments till date, communication has always been one of their biggest problems. Our presidents have always treated us like children; doing what's 'best' for us, irrespective of our opinions. Some major misunderstandings might have been avoided if the govts of the day had simply come out and spoken to us clearly.

On the subject of trading the Clueless one for the Ruthless one. Am I the only one that remembers a president that was dancing at a Party convention or whatever, mere hours after a bomb was detonated in his capital? I am in the camp that thinks PMB has no business being a president in 2015. Unfortunately, he was the only option we were given in the ousting of our well meaning, upright but ultimately ineffective ex-president.

I believe the responding tweets were highly insensitive. And in the end they were no better than the presidential tweet they condemned. Our suffering does not in anyway deprecate the suffering of others and vice versa. In the end, the enemy is not a tweeter handle, rather it is radical Islam and those Fulani herdsmen that have misplaced their humanity.

The bare bones of the president's answers on the interview were generally in the right direction. However he is missing that thing that every great leader through history has had; Charm... The ability to tell someone to go 7cuk themselves and have them reply with 'thank you!' and a smile.
The honest truth is that the country is going through tough times, and we must all feel the pain, however the old man doesn't need to throw it in our faces. He is running a country, not his family. When will we ever have an upright, smart and Charismatic president!!?

It is quite amusing that people are coming out to complain about a Governor who is attempting to secularize Kaduna; a state best known for its history of and predisposition to religious violence. The issue of if the Mosques will abide by the laws falls under the topic of enforcement of the alleged laws. I believe that anyone who has spent a reasonable amount of time in Kaduna will support the need to reduce the influence/presence of religion in public. Naturally however, Nigerians just LOVE to feel victimized/marginalized.

Episode 14 of CiTT redeemed things a little for me. The last hug scene was just the right amount of sweet and twisted.
Ps: is it just my imagination or is the story just Beauty and the Beast in college?

Nice Historical-ish drama "Ballad of the desert" also called "sound of the desert", it's on youtube with eng subs. 'One more happy ending' is a good alternative to Cheese in the trap. The Main lead starts the series as the second lead, the series shows the story from all sides, quite nice; very angsty though.

Anybody who has spent an extended time outside the shores of Nigeria can tell you that someone is sure to make a reference to crime within five minutes of stating you're Nigerian in any conversation.

All the righteous indignation in the world will not remove that taint. It is up to us to work hard to remove that stain and the first step to solving a problem is acknowledging it exists, not vehement denial.

It is really unfortunate that a tragedy like this occurred. What is more unfortunate is that some people who hold Nigerian citizenship's and passports are using this as an opportunity to fan the flames of anarchy and civil unrest.

It is truly a shame that we keep letting the mistakes of the past drive us further apart instead of binding us together. Spain is Spain and Sudan is Sudan, we must look inwards and learn to live peacefully with ourselves. The ethnicity of the Victim and perpetrator are secondary. What is important and what the matter should be is that a a crime has been committed and those responsible should be held accountable for their actions.

It's ironic that a foreigner can complain about Nigerian xenophobia on a Nigerian forum....
plus whatever happened in the past is in the past, we have all learnt our lessons and come far from those dark days. There is nothing to be gained from worrying the scars of an old wound. However a very fresh wound must be treated swiftly and efficiently that it not become infected. Nigeria must send a strong message and show the world that her citizens cannot be harmed without repercussions; Irrespective of the circumstances.

I am a graduate of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria. Last week i watched a campaign Ad for GEJ on NTA. Against my better judgement i was actually beginning to get impressed when the unthinkable happened. The Narrator lauded GEJ's construction of Federal Universities and a picture of the ABU senate building was shown followed by some uncompleted building from only God knows where. I am 100 percent sure that GEJ did not build the ABU senate building. Now, if Nigerians can be lied to on national television, then please tell us Nigerians why we should believe this your dubious list?

Ps: No insults please, show that you're educated.
Politics / Re: State By State Breakdown Of Goodluck Jonathans Achievements by wegga(m): 11:52pm On Dec 29, 2014
The Abacha administration became the first to record unprecedented economic achievements:[6] he oversaw an increase in the country's foreign exchange reserves from $494 million in 1993 to $9.6 billion by the middle of 1997, reduced the external debt of Nigeria from $36 billion in 1993 to $27 billion by 1997, brought all the controversial privatization programs of the Babangida administration to halt, reduced an inflation rate of 54% inherited from Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida to 8.5% between 1993 and 1998, all while the nation's primary commodity, oil was at an average of $15 per barrel.[6] His administration is also credited with creating the most comprehensive and realistic blueprint for Nigeria's development through the Vision 2010 committee chaired by his predecessor Ernest Shonekan.[7]

Gotten from Wikipedia.

It does not make the Late General any less of a Tyrannical Despot; God rest his soul

Having some parts of your administration actually justify their over inflated salaries does not magically make you a messiah.
