I sincerely doubt if any worthy scientific invention could be made in our environment. Inventions depend on certain infrastructure which we are yet to have. So it is likely that we may make only basic inventions and not the type that earns one a Nobel Prize or global prize. There is sure to be exceptions but it will be extremely rare.

In addition to the obvious neglect, Ndoro community has become a prey to armed robbers who attack it now and then. Three prominent youths of the community were killed yesterday while in the chase of armed robbers who made away with some speedboat engines. Three more sustained gunshot injuries and are in critical conditions in faraway hospitals, since the community does not even have facilities for primary healthcare, let alone a grave case of that nature. Unfortunately, the security agencies manning the waterways have not bothered to investigate and curb the reign of terror from such armed groups. They seem to specialise only in invading communities when violent conditions from such restive boys have gone beyond the power of the community to curtail. The Delta and Bayelsa state governments need to do more in the area of security along the Bulou Toru axis.

Okada people and their "my own no go drop" syndrome.

I've never seen a set of people who are naturally very stingy....if you like give them 1000 Naira for a 50Naira fare, they will collect it, keep you there for another 10minutes in search of change.

Most times even, they'd have the effrontery to give you 900 Naira and tell you they couldn't get all of your change and expect you to let the remaning change go.


Now he ended up not parting with his 100Naira but he is not alive to spend it.
