Is it a lie?
Has he read other 'blogsites' where other countries discuss their own leaders?
Anyway, I can't blame him much. Living in Nigeria with an ignorant concept of how things ought to be done the right way will remain a morally incommprehensible task for most who have never had the fortune of living outside Nigeria without taking occasional 'breaks' or 'vacations' from madness!
Sorry, but its your likes and your warped up sense of right and wrong that represent the greatest problem on this forum. Ngr is a peculiar nation with her own peculiar challenges that must be tackled in the context of her environment and its people. Just cos u live in some Western country does not give u any superior perspective about events in the country yet u and your Kobojunkie-like ignorant crew keep proffering all sorts of far fetched and ideologically deformed solutions to every single problem in the country. Perharps your naivety wld have been easy to overlook if you and the rest of your crew were not so deeply immersed in your silly Sardonism.

I dont understand  - All of the issues being discussed online stem from articles being read on Nigerian Newspaper hence i fail to see where issues are different to what is on ground.   If blogers are calling for blood i would say it is better and shows a more advanced set and i wish same online attitude could translate to what we have on ground rather than celebrate mediocracy.
True words, but the thirst for "blood" on this forum seems to be unquenchable and seems to be consuming every positive side of our collective nationhood such that this forum is becoming little more than a congregation of blood thirsty Vampires.

Simon is doing exactly what he is accusing Nairaland of doing bringing out the negatives. He forgot to add that from this blog a group of strangers keep children in school, pay hospital bills and even in political discussion we are not all negative on the same Nairaland supporters of a candidate are using their money time and energy to campaign for their candidate. Simon missed it.
Nigerian newspapers especially this day has failed, i remember the infamous role they played during the Yardua sickness saga, they defended that illegality as if their life depended on it, giving false news and negatively reporting Save Nigeria group rallies, now they have changed paymasters. Simon spare us, we have our brains and can make informed decisions, we will not depend on you to spoonfeed us
Of course I expect you to defend the direct product of your handiwork, but I'm not being patriotic when I say the Nigeria portrayed in Nairaland is far different from the Nigeria I live in.

The potential saddest part of this is that IF Buhari gets into power, he'll gradually fade into oblivion as usual and abandon the government to dimwits like Odumakin to run. Are u deluded supporters seeing the road ahead? Just read through @Gen Buhari's response and see how sorry he sounds yet he's your online leader! SMH

Going to do a thorough background search on that name Harold Smith but whatever the case, even though the Brit's set us up for failure and eternal dependence, i refuse to lay the blame squarely on their feet cos we had our chances to make everything right again but kept blowing it. All we needed was just one leader that had the right ideas ala J J Rawlings in Ghana and Thomas Sankara in Burkina faso to set us on the right path but we never had one instead we ended up with ideologically bankrupt leaders like Obj, Ibb, Abacha and Buhari ( Yes Buhari, If u think he had ideas then read Thomas Sankara's Bio and be very ashamed if u still think those were ideas)

I didnt 'talk gas' cos unlike u i dont claim to be an expert in every field with insight into every topic. I was actually enjoying an enlightening conversation until u jumped in with your now familiar Puritanical sermon.
BTW, Every Nigerian above 10 can zero in on corruption and a lack of political will as the bane of our development so please stop thinking yourself a Genius for restating the obvious simply cos u garnished it with your Buhari sermon.
Politics › Re: Nigeria Sets Sights On Natural Gas by wesley80(m): 5:38pm On Mar 25, 2011
Gbawe:
I can only blame the comedy of absurdities Nigeria is for how you both try to attacking Buhari for nothing other than the fact you support GEJ . When supposedly well-educated folks , who should be aware of their civic responsibilities, can hold brief for a man who has shown , beyond doubt , he is mediocre , a purveyor of empty promises and a failure then perhaps we should all accept the Country we have and recognise our individual roles for where we find ourselves. I doubt anyone on this forum , if they are honest , can say Buhari will partake in the shameless opportunism and politics of expediency Jonathan is now famous for.

Say what you will about Buhari but the truth is that , without doubt , the man will appoint round pegs to round holes and enable them deliver , unhindered , for Nigerians . That is the most important quality we want from our next President not empty promises that can never be actualised going from the actions , on the ground, of the insincere man making the pledges. We don't need Einstien as our President . We just need a man of integrity who will appoint the many committed Einsteins needed for various important office. You fans of Jonathan should be ashamed that all Jonathan does is talk yet when he has had the chance he has not delivered  to date .

Look at all his appointments to very important office . Ringim as IGP and Adoke as AGF/Minister of Justice  shocked shocked shocked Despite Waziri being discredited and shunned like a leper , while Ribadu was embraced and celebrated wordlwide, Jonathan keeps her in charge of the EFCC to the chagrin of Nigerians and the entire world . The woman has been exposed as abetting corruption with solid evidence . Jonathan has removed an ICPC boss working well for a "physically and mentally" lazy stooge chosen by Patience Jonathan because she is "one of us" (from the Niger Delta).

How is Jonathan going to deliver anything with the crooks and compromised appointees he deliberately employs who lack uprightness and integrity? In case you folks don't know it , A Nigerian President , for our current situation, is not required to be a braniac .  The Nigerian President we need today , above everything else , is the man who can appoint our brightest and most talented folks , based on merit alone , and  , with unshakeable political will, implement completely the suggestions of these men and women which , no doubt , will clash with the interest of the "business as usual" "owners-of-Nigeria" who are happy for Nigeria to remain as it is. Those deleterious and harmful "owners-of-Nigeria" are Jonathan's friends and his appointment confirm it so you folks should save your noise.
Veryyyyyyy longgg yawn,Lets talk GAS plsssssss, u no dey tire for all these kind dry propaganda talk sef? And u ask yourself why Gej is a breath of Fresh Air?
Politics › Re: Presidential Debates, Short Memories And Hypocrisy: By Pat Utomi by wesley80(m): 12:57pm On Mar 25, 2011
U BB Supporters are just proving how utterly shameless and hypocritical you are. Isnt this the same bunch that have celebrated every criticism directed at the PDP by thesame man? Now he has become a nonentity cos the tide has turned and its got the wrong end of Buhari. All of a sudden, his once convenient truths have become very inconvenient lies! You BB apologists should hang your heads in shame. At least now we r beginning to know who the real political doofus really is. Pathetic.

Eziachi:
Now you really want to rewrite history happening in our very own eyes or what? When Omeri put out his mudsling, people like you were enjoying it , Buhari being associated with corruption and I am sure Jonathan read it like ou and I and enjoyed too because that news was in the dormain for days.
But they never realise that Buhari has a clever man in Odumakin and when he hit back with a thunder that jolted Jonathan and his campaign, it was then that they came out public to deny Omeri and now sacrificed him to save face.

If they were unaware of what Omeri is doing, when the informtion he released about his opponent was in the news for many days, what sort of president will he make that his adviser will jump over him and put such a thing out without his consent?. He didn't come out of this looking good as a leader except this is Nigeria.

Omeri should have been instantly sacked and they apologised to the other candidates but they waited for days.Medication after dead. Some of you think we were born yesterday.
@Bolded. What Exactly do u refer to as a “Thunder” here? This senseless bit of thrash has been circulating in idiotic circles for so long that its laughable that this is all the BB team can come up with. Gej is a man of Dignity and has only done what’s right, late or not.

Politics › Re: News - Jonathan 'sacks' Controversial Campaign Aide, Mike Omeri by wesley80(m): 11:13pm On Mar 23, 2011
Gej's campaign has been devoid of the name calling and mudslinging that has characterized the campaign of his opponents right from the infamous days of Atiku to the present gang of finger pointers.
Right from the outset, Gej had pointed the direction he's campaign would go when he said 'I have no enemies to fight'. Omeri was way out of line to have tampered with the one thing that had stood Gej's campaign out from the whole bunch - Decorum and therefor deserved to go. credit to Gej, he's kicked him out. The man deserves praise and nothing less, but trust NL's online mongrels to start yapping about what he didnt do instead of appreciating what he's done.
Sports › Nigeria To Play Argentina In Abuja On June 1st by wesley80(op): 5:21pm On Mar 23, 2011
Nigeria are to host former world champions Argentina in an international friendly on 1 June.

The game will be held at the Abuja National Stadium.

The countries last met at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, when the South Americans won 1-0.

"It's massive news for us to get a high-profile game like this in Nigeria," said Nigeria Football Federation chairman Aminu Maigari.

"The team, fans and media deserves it and we are looking forward to welcoming big names in world football to our country come June."

Nigeria will use the match as a warm-up for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Ethiopia on the weekend of 4/5 June.

Argentina have won the World Cup twice, in 1978 and 1986.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/9433790.stm

Now all thats left is to ensure Nigeria doesnt burn after the elections in May. Errrrm one other thing, hope we wont end up playing Boca Juniors or River Plate cos Argentina without Messi, Mascherano , wont quite be Argentina. All the same, very good one.

Just wanted to ask if u guys are familiar with the term 'political expediency'? Of course u lot are so smart u ought to be. Relating that to politics (Nigerian style) it means an aspiring president from a minority ethnic group with his strongest support coming from a minority political zone needs all the help he can get and since the most influential folks from all other well populated regions all seem to be crooks (by your testimonies) it becomes Expedient to have their support - at least for now. Afterall all those Crooks were already thriving and well followed before Gej showed up or werent they?
Dont hate the player people, hate the game.
