may her soul rest in peace.

but i'll encourage you to find someone to talk to about your feelings though. That's one of the most important things to do and I'm sure you know that since you created this thread which is a good idea.
maybe a close friend or family of yours that's willing to listen or a counselor (they help people go through times like this) to help you get better. I wish i were there to help but it's all good.
I'm at loss what what to say but I wish you good luck now and in your future.

I think am relaxing it soon. can't manage it no more, so hard to comb. braiding is a killer cost. what else can i do with carrying my hair like a guy haha. so jagajaga on my head bo.
awwww. anyways good luck. it's all about choice anyways.

I keep mine natural 'cause i braid my hair all the time (cost $30 but i want to learn how to do it on my own). I guess if you leave your hair out all the time it's going to be harder to manage unless it's long enough. I didn't wear my natural hair out until 1 year later which was recently. i felt so proud of myself. lol i put it in a bun.

CultureRe: I Want Someone To Teach Me American Accent by WesleyanA(f): 4:35am On Apr 26, 2007
@ bigsis, you have no right to even open your mouth. You guys are some of the most uneducated individuals. when you do decide to go to college , it is for basketball and football. if that fails then everyone goes to their basement to do rap. Nigerians are the most smart and educated blacks on the planet. We are the BLACKS in all the prestigious USA colleges. A report was just made on this issue by PRINCETON. It is your e\country but WE are the ones using your resources. YOU know about that, that is why you are here. SO do not insult us. YOU should be proud to be in our midst.
can we stop being self-righteous for a sec?
The african immigrants in prestigious American colleges come from all over Africa not just Nigeria and they are usually sons/ daughters of already educated or wealthy people who moved to the US or send their kids to the US.
trust me, I hang out with immigrant Nigerians (I'm one myself) too majority of them are in community colleges. It's usually the sons of lawyers, teachers etc that end up in Princeton etc.
let's not kid ourselves. Don't you think Nigeria would have been the best country in the world if what you said was true that we're all educated etc?
plus most nigerians/ africans and blacks in general in my school play sports too. lol

no insults please

"everyone goes in their basement to do rap" can also be translated in the nigerian language to "everyone goes to the cafes to do 419" yeah stereotypes are everywhere. I met some really outstanding black americans, so lets not generalize.
u tell her. u can not compare africans to black americans except for color. at least when we speak our broken, its to communicate with others that are not from your area. when americans speak their ebonics, they just sound stupid and illiterate.
ebonics is to communicate just as nigerian pidgin is to communicate. yeah both are considered to be used by illeterates.
ebonics originated with african americans that are secluded in the ghetto. obviously their dialect will be diferent from the mainstream. african americans who don't live in the inner cities etc usually don't speak ebonics.

I won't advice anyone to go learn ebonics though. unless they don't want job prospects or unless they're moving into the innercity etc (it's advicable to learn ebonics if you want to survive in these areas).

anyways, @ topic, get a little bit of some southern accent 'cause it's cute. tongue
EducationRe: Is It Better To Stay On-Campus Or Off-Campus In UK Universities? by WesleyanA(f): 4:35am On Apr 24, 2007
stay on campus. you'll get the most out of your college experience that way, meet and get to know more people from your school, and assimilate better.

stay at least for your first year.

spoilt:
what do guys care? the false, lush, wavy, hair (preferably blond) intrigues them!
with nappy hair they think you're ghetto. the cheek of it.
i'm not wearing my hair for guys. and i don't think most natural and relaxed people are.
all men aren't the same either.

where do you live? most ghetto people don't wear their hair natural (they put on weaves on top of their severely chemically and physically damaged hair). the opposite is actually the case.
i guess it depends on the area you live.
FashionRe: Why Do Women Of African Descent Relax/perm Their Beautiful Hair by WesleyanA(f): 3:28am On Apr 19, 2007
it's easier for more mature women to be natural when peer pressure is reduced etc
i think it's harder when your a teenager.
FashionRe: Why Do Women Of African Descent Relax/perm Their Beautiful Hair by WesleyanA(f): 3:14am On Apr 19, 2007
lol.
i guess you shoud stick to the nigerian salons then? they're cheap to be honest.
some of them know the styles too. esp. the fat twists. they're really popular now.

Ndipe:
@Babyosis, you are contradicting yourself, if you purchased hair at a store, then it is NOT natural.
you're a guy it's ok if you don't get the joke tongue

they sell natural hair at the store. (they last longer than the artificial ones but are expensive)

I saw a Senegalese lady and she gave me a price for doing twist. it range between 250-300 dollars, is this price right?

sisters here, what do you think oo?

Sistah will contact you soon, thanks.
woah!!! shocked shocked shocked
is it an established salon? the one with the helpers and all that? huh

you can avoid large/ established salons unless you personally know/ are friends w/ the people
or look for hairdressers who have day jobs/ another job. they tend to charge a whole lot lesser.
